✓ We LOVE VidAngelFor thirty some cents a day WE (not “Hollywood”) get to choose exactly what enters our home, our minds, & the minds of our children. It’s so worth it, y’all! To be able to watch grown up movies in the presence of our kids, & not have to worry about what they’ll hear or see, is wonderful! To get to watch things as a family that don’t have to be “kid” shows/movies, that’s so nice for parents and teenagers. To honestly address some of the complaints on here—Yes, sometimes it doesn’t send to the tv the first time. We just “disconnect” and try again. Worst case, we just restart our fire stick and/or app. That may take, what, two minutes… or less? So not a big deal. And no, they don’t have every show/movie, but they’re constantly adding new content. Recently, a new Netflix series I was looking forward to was on VidAngel the same day it released! We just love this service. It may not be perfect, but what it does is far more significant than any occasional glitch..Version: 5.4.4
✓ OMG THIS IS THE BESTSo all I can really say about this app is that I love it and it is great because if you want to watch something of of there with your kid then there are filters so that if you don't want there to be kissing for example then you can filter that out and another example is if you don't want VIOLENCE then you can also filter that out..Version: 5.2.16
✓ Works!I hate that so many reviews have been bad because of whatever updates people didn’t have. It works great for me! I love how specific the filters are. They let me know exactly what a movie has, and of course, let me decide whether or not I want to see it. I truly wish this was a more supported idea and more available option for people who want to watch what’s popular, but not see unnecessary inappropriate content. I was almost considering cancelling Netflix because just about everything has something in it, so it was starting to seem like a waste of money. With VidAngel, I can have the best of both worlds: current movies/shows without the garbage..Version: 5.2.12
✓ GreatI have a Roku so I can’t use the app on my tv, and airplay doesn’t work for me. But I watch shows on my phone and it works great. The 5 stars is really for the service itself- I can’t believe how amazing it is to watch shows and movies with everything taken out that I don’t want to see/hear. ✓ Worth itIt does have issues but for the service it offers and being that it’s really the only one that exists right now, I’m willing to deal with it. If I had the skills I’d work for this company. ✓ Essential filtering makes great movies betterHollywood doesn’t have to ruin otherwise enjoyable movies. They force viewers to listen to vulgar language and watch actors make out and undress on camera. This app makes movies enjoyable rather than cringeworthy. ✓ Thank you for your softwareVidAngel is one of many services out there. I tried Enjoy Movies Your Way but kept having issues with the free version. So I decided to try this company. Best decision I’ve made. I’m connected to Prime and Netflix. It takes out all the cuss words and nudity. I enjoy movies based on true events without the language. ✓ Love VidAngelThere are a lot of things I love about VidAngel but some of their employee picks on the app are interesting, like “call me by your name”. I can hardly read the filters it’s so pervy. Also one of the movies made by their studio has sexual content and I don’t get why they didn’t just leave it out if they’re family friendly. Aside from that you can filter out triggering things like sexual assault and health emergencies and such so I appreciate that..Version: 6.6.13
✓ Love this so much!I’m so excited because I read another person’s review, and I was able to figure out how to watch it through our roku on tv. At first I was trying to find it through the roku, but I couldn’t find it. Then when I signed into vid angel I realized you start there, and it finds your roku. ✓ Loving this new app!This is great! Connecting is so easy! I can still use my Roku and Apple TV with my mobile app! Everyone needs to try this!!! Once my movie is started, I can hard close the VidAngel app while the movie still plays on my Roku, and use my phone for texting and FB. ✓ This App Is TerrificBought this app on August 10th 2022. This app works great on my iPhone and easily connects to our roku tv. This app smoothly cuts out the stuff you want filtered out so you don’t even know it was in there. ✓ My go-to for streamingI cannot believe there are so few reviews on here. I have been using Vidangel for the past few years. There are some hiccups now and then with the app losing verification with streaming services but nothing that is too inconvenient. It’s our families go-to for watching most streaming content. The app does not have licensing for HBO or Disney products but I don’t miss those shows anyway. There’s plenty of good content available to choose from and they are frequently uploading new content to view. The process is easy to set up, you can set broad filters to remove all of a specific content you want filtered and also manage individual filters as well if you want to allow certain filters for a specific movie. So easy and so seamless, you can hardly tell when something was removed. Anyway, just wanted to give a recent review since there doesn’t seem to be any on here. I recommend Vidangel to all my family and friends. It’s worth it..Version: 6.5.0
✓ A great tool for anyone looking to guard their heartThis is an easy to use and excellent tool to censor the things that might cause us to sin. Taking the vulgarity out of movies doesn’t change the quality of movies at all, and makes you realize how unnecessary most of it is. ✓ Great service! Could use some tweaks though.First, let me say that I love the service VidAngel provides. It is so nice being able to enjoy TV and movies without being bombarded by f-bombs, blasphemy, and other immoralities. It just goes to show that that filth is not necessary for good entertainment. Heck, my wife and I stream through VidAngel even when the kids aren’t around! That being said, the platform could use some tweaks. I agree with other reviewers that the fast forward function when streaming on a television (we use a Firestick) could be improved a lot. I’m only able to skip by 10 second increments, and I have to push the button every single time. Very inconvenient when trying to pick up where we left off. Secondly, I wish the app wouldn’t time out so fast when the program is paused. When it does, I have to revert to fast forwarding by 10 second increments to get back to where it stopped. But all in all, this service is well worth the price for my family. Keep up the good work. Thank you..Version: 6.6.3
✓ Great idea/aervice, so-so appWe love VidAngel and have been customers for many years. Unfortunately, however, the lack of multitasking/splitscreen in iOS is a huge pain. Want to change screen brightness, switch to AirPods, dismiss an alert, or anything other than change volume? You’ll be kicked out of your program, only rarely be able to resume where you left off, and then have to sit through a half dozen ads when you find the spot you left (the latter being a streaming service problem, but caused by the inability to multitask). We continue to use VidAngel because it is such a great tool, but multitasking frustrations make me question that regularly.Version: 6.6.12
✓ Best Streaming ServiceFor me, the best part of VidAngel is being able to hand-pick what I want to have filtered out. The app has its technical difficulties from time to time, but this service opens up a world of content that I wouldn’t feel comfortable watching otherwise. ✓ AwesomeThanks for providing us a service that allows us to watch our movies and shows without all the filth!! Just started using the app and so far so good. Only issue I’m having is if I go back during an episode it continues to play in the background even if I’m watching another episode. ✓ Pretty good.This app really does help when I’m watching a family movie and there are little kids around. You can choose many things to bleep out, many things to cut out. I really love how you can cast things to your tv. One thing That I’ve been having an issue with (I don’t know if this is just me) is that when I’m watching a show I have to exit out of the show after I finish the episode and redo all the setting I have chosen to cut out. ✓ Vary good app it has been vary goodThis app is great I have no complaints if you are looking to get it in my opinion you definitely should. But I was wondering if you are ever going to add THE GOODFELLAS to vid angel I saw it on there before somwere around 2020 that was the last time I saw it was on vid angel but then around 2022 it left vid angel I was wondering if you were ever going to add it back and if not the reason please. ✓ Excellent family-friendly service!VidAngel gives power back to parents and families by giving us control of what we view in our household. The service and app work well on my iPhone and steaming to my AppleTV using “Sent to TV”. Note the native AppleTV did not work. Filters for language, violence, and sexual content give parents fine grain control that allows my kids as young as 6 to view the same movies as my teenager. Excellent service and product! ✓ Family StapleI have recommended VidAngel to friends for years! While the selection is not as comprehensive as ClearPlay, the granularity of filtering far surpasses any other option on the market. Believe me. I have spent countless hours looking at filtering options. VidAngel is also the ONLY filtering service worth anything on smartphones and tablets. I find the app to be intuitive. I do have feature recommendations (ping me VidAngel product managers if you’re interested), but overall I give this service and this app a solid 5 stars. Keep it up dev team..Version: 6.0.2
✓ OptimisticI'm going to give an optimistic 5 star based on a few experiences. First, I was disappointed by the apps removal from Roku. I had just found it at the time and had to cancel. Next, I later tried it again, and Cast it from the phone. This not only offered fairly bleak footage (from Casting) but was pretty glitchy as others describe. Note: you can help the bleakness of Cast video by changing your tv picture settings to Vivid mode, etc. but who wants to do this all the time? So I cancelled. Third, once I had a television that came with Google Play I was able to load the VidAngel app directly onto my smart TV. This has been a very user-friendly way to watch the programs and is working without glitches at this time. I believe using the app is the best way to go. There is a slight change in the brightness when viewing on my TV versus through Netflix. However a nice perk I noticed is if I adjust the picture settings to vivid mode for the VidAngel app this change remains within the app only, and then reverts back to my usual settings when I exit the app. I like that. At this time I give it five stars because of the reason it brought us all here in the first place. The idea. Hopefully the execution of it holds up. So far, a resounding yes..Version: 6.0.2
