✓ 1 problem and 1 good thing. Please read before you download ⚠️⚠️So the best things are good things so I’m going to tell you the 1 good thing. I never saw an ad in this game. Now the not good thing. So the word search is SO hard some times. And when my kid downloaded this game it said it’s for 4+ and this game should be 4+ but if someone downloads the game it can just say beware these word searches is VERY hard and big. Playing to beat your own time adds challenge, and words are interesting (I don’t mind words repeated across games - it’s not like they are located in the same spot). Ads are minimal and easy to close and get back to the game. Game pauses if you exit to the home screen. I also like the way words left to find move towards the front of the list, so you always see multiple words on the current screen..Version: 1.30
✓ Great game!It’s so easy to play and looks nicer than the written version. The colours are pleasant and it’s easy to read. The only problem I’ve come across is sometimes you have to run your finger several times over the word before it highlights and that cuts into your score, but hey, you are only playing against yourself so it’s no big problem. ✓ Very good and well designedI like to play this game and I rated five stars. The only thing to improve is that the player can find every word backwards too. That would be perfect. What I mean is: I need to find the word “water” but this game only let me shade the word from w to r. Better would be if I can start from r and finish and w. If you could shade the words going backwards or forward it would save a lot of time, sometimes your brain only sees it one way and you waste time looking for them. Also it takes running your finger over the words 2 or 3 times just to get them to shade, if you fix those couple of items I would give it 5 stars. Also a clue to the new people, try to find all the smallest words first, it’s easier that way. Update: the game is still fun but it got so easy for me I switched to playing it in German to challenge my “high school” foreign language skills. ✓ Almost perfectI love the format and challenge, but two things bother me. I wish you could find words backward as well. Example being if I’m supposed to find “fire” I wish I could swipe from the e to the f, sometimes that would honestly shave off a couple seconds. Speaking of which the other feature I don’t care for is the timer. I wish it wasn’t right at the top of the screen. If each round needs to be timed so be it but just show someone at the end. Ads don't pop up or get in the way of play. -The word list is at the bottom, easy to ignore. -The word grid is large, comfortable to scan, and font can be modified in settings. Features I don't like: -Each grid is timed but there's no way to pause if, ya know, the dog wants out. -There's no levels of difficulty. Features I don't mind but some users will: -You must swipe a word first to last; last to first doesn't find the word. When I figured this out (arggg) I allowed that it's more challenging. -No music. -Some words are iffy English. -Most longer words have prefixes & suffixes. You may think the timing is stressful, but try doing what I did and set goals. And you may think that the loads of words are hard, but just try a little at a time. The target words seem to group unusual parts of speech, as if they were chosen by someone w/ ESL. (I have LD’s & had to find a college that would allow me to graduate w/o studying a different language. So, I admire anyone who has learned a different language. ✓ Best Word Search AppI don’t see a recent update but for some reason there is awful distracting music on this app . It just recently started and no way to turn it off. I have to just turn down the volume on my phone. What has caused this? It has never had music before and this isn’t easy soothing music. This grates on ones nerves. I think that it should be an option, like we should be able to turn the timer on and off. I also agree with the other reviews that say we should be able to highlight words in the reverse. I usually read through all the words in the beginning so when I see them in the puzzle they can be crossed off. I’ve not found a “pause” on the timer. ✓ A Great Way to Pass the TimeI love word search puzzles. I’ve been doing them my whole life. I recently switched over from a Samsung to an iPhone. My Samsung had a great word search app. I was able to control how big, and therefore how many words, my puzzle was. I could change colors including back lighting. I’ve search, for many hours, to find a word search app I like as much. I don’t want themes or other puzzles included. I need something more than just 10-15 words. I finally ended with this app. Even though I think it gives you too many words at a time and it can be hard to distinguish letters and words, because there are so many, I still chose this app. I’d rather have too many words than the puzzle being too easy. The "best times" are faulty in that they give overall times regardless of the word count. So the lower the word count to find, the higher your score will be. It'd be nice if the best recorded times were sorted by how many words you had to find to begin with 2. I'd also like to know how palindromes are treated.
