✓ What evenI’m the mayor and the citizens speak to me like I’m their worker. Find a ladybug? You’re dismissed?? When can I assign work for these lazy citizens instead of me doing all the work. The scripts are not immersive and the tasks are menial. The game is very pretty otherwise..Version: 0.7.14

✓ Soooo unhappy!I thought this game would be so wonderful, and cute. Some of it was fun, but I mean, it needs a lot of work!! You can’t leave for a full day without the town beauty going all the way down, or a town member leaving. My family and I are very busy, and don’t have a lot of electronic time which is ok. But you come back the next day, and your people have moved out, and your town beauty keeps dropping! One more thing, the bug-catching is very un-realistic. You tap a bug with the net, it doesn’t do anything. If you aren’t even close to catching it, you catch it! It is so annoying! If I could give this game 0 stars I would. It needs a lot of fixing. Please fix it! I would enjoy playing it and giving it good reviews if these problems were fixed. But for now, I am unhappy and suggest you don’t waste your time on this game. P.s.- This needs to be posted on reviews for people to see. All I see are good reviews and I’m sure a lot of people are unhappy with this game. People need to know that this is not the best game. ✓ I Love The Virtual Family/Villagers Games, BUT TOWN…So I’ve been playing virtual villagers and families for years on and off. I believe the first game I ever downloaded was one of those. Fast forward to 2023, I’ve had town downloaded for years but never got to playing it until now. Well, sadly I don’t e how I can play. The game is very finicky and the character I adopted moves really slow. It just took me 5 minutes to walk from the center of town to the green lawn on the left side of it. This isn’t the quality I’m use to from this developer. All the other virtual games they’ve made work just fine. I don’t understand how in 23’ this game isn’t playable? 🤦🏼♀️ I will try it again though. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, although I’m not sure how. I double tap a spot to have my character run to but she moves so slow and the app is just finicky. If I click on details of something it takes the pop up screen with those details quite a bit to actually show up. Idk it’s shaky and just doesn’t run right. It’s not like the others. I wish it were. I was looking forward to this one, but I guess I’ll just go replay the others if this one won’t work. If it does turn out that it’s me doing something wrong I will gladly update this review. It doesn’t appear that there’s been many recent reviews either and unless I’m seeing it wrong there’s been no updates for this game in 7 years either which is really a bummer. Such a shame. ✓ NoThis game is terrible, you start off going into the town where they give instruction on how to play and stuff, then you are excepted to fix the town completely yet they give you no money to help start off. They also don't give you any tools to start off and you don't even have your own house, you have to build one with no money. ✓ Fun but no ending ☹️I have enjoyed playing this game for the past Several weeks. Sadly, however, there is no ending. With virtual villagers you kinda had a bit of closure you completed the different tasks and there was a time and place where you felt like there was closure. With Virtual Town you can never reach that point. There is no updates. You never get to finish the storyline, you don’t get to build the coliseum. You never get to use the movie theater or continue to build up your town. I hope they come back to this game and give us closure to the storyline and add more tasks and things to do. It would be cool to be able to build relationships, add more business, get married etc. I don’t see that happening since there isn’t really anything new posted about this game online since 2016 😩.Version: 0.7.14

✓ MmmmmWell for me.. I think you should be able to earn a lot of money, like I'm spending my own money to buy crops for the town people to eat! Like what is that all about? I know we resell them but it's not worth much.. And tools that brake so fast? I don't think so.. And the way the towns people talk is pretty rude.. And you need to speed things up, like fixing lakes and bridges but also why am I putting out money by myself to fix ponds etc?? Isn't it for the towns people as well? And the requests that the towns people want you to find for them is quite difficult.. I don't know I think this game is made of greed. ✓ Needs a serious updateThis game needs a serious update. The game is okay but pretty slow and boring. You just basically clean the town and that’s pretty much it. Once your done with the clean up your pretty much done until the next day. So it’s the same thing over and over and over again. It needs more!!! The game at time is pretty glitchy and runs in slow motion. I’ve reset the game 5 times already just because I was bored with it and in the hopes of something new popping up. The cinema doesn’t work why idk and the developers don’t know either why not well at least that was their reply. Also, the mayor quest well who knows what else your supposed to do because I’ve fixed everything in the town and not once did I get a clue as what was next. I think if the developers actually paid attention to the game and revamp it some it would be a great game. But yeah I doubt that will happen. ✓ Money scamI love most of the games Last Day of Work makes because it is not necessary to spend money on them in order to play. Virtual Town is unlike the other games because you DO have to spend money in order to play. Your tools break after several uses so you have to constantly buy new ones, for anything brass it’s 100$ and those are the cheap tools in the game. Everything you do requires coin that you don’t get from being mayor. You get one coin a day from the bank unless you PURCHASE an interest upgrade. Tasks that the townspeople give you are only available for a day, so unless you already have the item they want then you’re not getting paid. If you sell something you bought then found you didn’t need it, you can sell it back, if it is unused, but only get half of what you paid for it. If you want to repair, say, the lake then you have to spend 400 $/coin for 4 days to get it done. That’s 1,600$/coin, and you don’t even start the game out with that amount of coin. I could give more examples but it would take too much time. I’m extremely disappointed in this game and the fact that it is only for money. With the amount of people who play Last Day of Work games, a money trap like this is an unnecessary and cruel trick to play on consumers..Version: 0.7.14
✓ Pretty But Way Too LimitedI do enjoy the graphics & that it is in 'real' time... but the aging of the mayor so quickly does bother me. It is very dull when you cannot even dress your little girl or boy, have her/him do something together with you. It is very dull when you cannot have shared actions with the towns people, better interactions. You don't get to choose these town people either, not much diversity either. There is no building of houses, etc. The tasks are too repetitive. I understand for a small team putting together a game like this takes a lot, but it is worth it to all the followers to really put more levels & depth into this. One does not wish to spend money on this game because the updates seem to be not forthcoming... it is a good base to start building on, so let's hope the creators will inspired to do so....Version: 0.7.14

✓ Fun game but no updates and glitches not fixedI’ve been playing for a few months. I’ve paid out $60 due to slow getting coins to build up on my house and unlock the other side of the town etc. When your mayor retires, there is a 2 day glitch of no new tasks, cave doesn’t get new items and neither does the general store. The story line drags out as to where the mayor went and the function of the stone hedge. No new clues for quite awhile. I contacted tech support and they admitted there was no fixes that could be done and will be no updates. I’m on 4th mayor now and 3 days of glitches afterward of no cave treasures, general store items don’t change, no tasks, etc. The designer abandoned the game fixes so you have to tolerate it all. The city hall items never seem to change so you are limited items to make your town nice..Version: 0.7.14

✓ Need better ways to make moneyI like this game, it’s just I little stupid how as the mayor you have to pay everything out of your own pocket and you don’t get much money! You only get a couple hundred maybe twice a day for doing tasks. I find it very hard to save up when there’s things that get done, would be nice if you had some daily income as the mayor or if the towns people had to pay a tax of some sort that would go to help bettering the town!.Version: 0.7.14

✓ Becomes a choreI won't lie, this game is great. I just think that it gets a bit boring at times, and sometimes the people say things that makes you not even want to help them anymore. It's just become a chore for me now, log in everyday, solve everyone's problems, catch disgusting insects to give to the museum. That sort of stuff made me quit the game. I deleted this game months ago, I applaud to those that could deal with this game. And the bug-catching aspect of the game is by far the least appealing part. Why would we want to see animated pests everywhere? No updates have been made, the storyline is far from complete, and nothing is interesting. ✓ TO BE HONESTOKAY I've been playing this game for 5 months straight And honestly this game could do so much to up date, there are a lot of things that I dislike and a few things that I do like... Dislikes: - the town people are rude to me.. I don't believe that everyone will be rude to a new mayor after begging and begging for another mayor to take place and resolve the town. - minerals and bugs can't be found all the time... I take requests from the town people and half of the time, I can't find anything they want.. - getting money is hard.. I have to sell most of my stuff to get money, and the money provides for the food and people to clean up the town - the weeds and grass grow too quick.. nearly everyday of my play time I have to cut grass or pick the weeds - tools break a bit too quick.. honestly I'm wasting my money on buying tools - my generations are getting older but the townspeople stay the same! ITS CREEPY IM AGEING WHILE MY TOWNS PEOPLE ARE FOREVER YOUNG - oh and I don't like the fact that you get to retire and you never see your character as you started again... it's like the mayor that just went off and left the town forgotten. Likes: - my children are wonderful Honestly I think the kids are the only ones with positive comments about you - it's good that your assistant helps you - I like how you can feed your child foods and veg - I like how you can pick/ cut weeds and catch bugs. ✓ Giving Up?This game is absolutely amazing. I love seeing noticeable progress from my hard work and efforts and I love seeing the gorgeous changes and additions you can make. The game allows anyone to express their creativity and time management skills in a fun way! This game is super fun and always has something exciting or mysterious in store. But there’s one MASSIVE issue about the ending. There isn’t one. To anyone who’s reading this review before they download, what I mean is that the games incomplete and has no direct ending as it should. You complete ALL of these tasks and missions just to end up permanently in the middle of a mysterious quest that can never be completed. It takes approximately one week to restore the village and unlock access to all areas. All that’s left to do is figure out where the previous mayor disappeared to, but that can’t be done because the game was never updated with an ending beyond the kite quest. ✓ ⚠️game is broke⚠️So far the game was doing good. But after playing for almost about a week, the system just stopped working. Usually the next day you get new citizen tasks and clean up the town and I had my citizens working on the beach and it only had one day left. But after i believe the 7th or 6th day of playing, the new day still hasn’t started and i’m still stuck on the same day. My citizens are still working on the beach, the stores haven’t reset, the only change is that the grass grows rapidly. And I’m infuriated because i spent some money on here which I’m hoping that i can get refunded by apple, and they’re not the most trustworthy when it comes to getting your money back. Honestly this game had so much potential yet i guess the creators abandoned it. I don’t understand why you don’t just take it off the App store instead of wasting people’s time and money. ✓ What is going on!!!???My whole game is messed up as of today. No houses are built, including my own. Everything I’ve done on the other side of the river is there as far as aesthetically , but the bridge is no longer built, and the beach, cave and stone circle are back to square 1. My mayor has changed. My adopted kid is gone. My money doesn’t make any sense and it eerily at 6661. I can’t navigate very well because it is SO GLITCHY it hurts my eyes. But...I think this is an amazing game but there are a few problems. 1) I feel like we should get a little bit more space when we first build our house, that thing is tiny! 2) The bronze tools break very quickly. I keep having to buy them over and over again! I would get the silver ones but they are expensive! Those are the only things I can think of off the top of my head. ✓ Fun Game... for awhileI just deleted this game after playing it for about a week. I applaud those who could keep it longer but honestly, it just gets a bit redundant. When I first got this game, I was hooked and had fun playing it. But then, I realized you have to check in everyday and when you do check in, you are completing the same tasks and it all just feels like a chore. The residents are so rude - which is odd to me, it makes me not want to take time to complete tasks for them. Also, when working on a landscape item like the lake, beach or bridge - it takes forever! I think the lake took 3-4 days. After a couple of days, it seems to take a lot of work to get your town in the green/up to the percentage it needs to be for everyone to happy. ✓ Animal crossing, is that you?The game is an okay time passer, but it’s clear that it’s still rough around the edges. The animations are a bit robotic and not fluid but the walk time and tool cool down is extremely slow. Controlling is sometimes good, sometimes really tedious, like trying to run with certain tools. There are some charming ideas like the movie theatre but other ideas including ordinances and the names of the ordinances are clear ripoffs from animal crossing new leaf. It’s essentially a lower quality pocket camp. With that said, the things that are charming are very much so: adopting kids, the aforementioned movie theatre, the town rating and food meter. Other things need a bit of work: Being unable to get married or have your own kids is a huge downside. It’s just a bit of a letdown. The other problem is the parts that are clearly taken from animal crossing. It cannot fully become its own game. As a major animal crossing fan and a game developer of life sims myself, I found it distracting and made me feel like playing new leaf rather than checking this game every time I was reminded of it. All around has serious potential to be a breakthrough but needs some serious work, heart and less animal crossing to reach it..Version: 0.7.14

✓ Needs an updateI absolutely love this game, but the last update was a year ago. Some new bugs, plants, and minerals to find would be nice...I have found almost all of them. A variation of bugs in the cave. The townspeople give the same gifts all the time. Maybe some new gifts. Expand it farther. Be able to move in more then 10 people. Just something to keep people’s interest. Dropping rating to 2 stars..Still waiting for an update. I’ve done everything I can. Now I am just maintaining the town and fulfilling townspeople’s requests...with the same stuff. Something has to change. This is a great game, but it is getting really boring. ✓ OK Game So Far But Not a Fan of Real TimeI've played Virtual Villagers and Virtual Families many hours in the past. I'm just getting used to this game and still am confused by what I'm supposed to do (growing food and just letting it sit there? Do I take it anywhere? Do I have to feed people myself? Etc.). It could be fun but I'm not a fan of real time. I primarily play games at night, so everything being closed at that time is not helpful. It's significantly affected my ability to play the game. ✓ Potential but currently 💩This game would be a lot of fun... but it ain't working!!! I've paid a lot of (virtual) money for all the ordinances but so far none of them are working. Especially the gardening one, all my plants died! I also wished tools lasted longer and weren't that expensive, especially earlier on in the game it's ridiculously expensive. ✓ Still waiting a year later!I understood the premise of the game was for my character to improve/restore the town to its previous glory AND uncover the mystery of the previous mayors disappearance. I discovered/uncovered one piece of the mayors story very early on and restored the towns population and beauty. I find it monotonous & frustrating that week after week Nothing changes. I get no clues. The update added a little enjoyment. (Minus the constant crashing) The towns people are still rude. I am getting really sick of not being able to unravel more of the mystery. UPDATE: I recently started playing the game again & gotta Say I’m kind of sickened by the fact that it’s nearly 2018 & the main storyline of the game in regards to the missing mayor and the blight or bad luck That apparently hits the town every 40 years WILL NEVER BE FINISHED?!. ✓ Good game, but it gets annoying. A LOTLike the title I wrote above, this game is very fun but super annoying! I wait every day to be able to adopt kids, and they are never there. The music is very gloomy (I don’t know if it gets better over time or if it changes when the town is pretty enough) and I can never watch an add at the movie theater thing when it even says NOW PLAYING. I don’t get it. I’ve had this game for a while now and I can’t adopt any kids when I used to be able to adopt them on like the second day of me playing. It is also really hard to find bugs.
