Photo Scan App by Photomyne for Negative User Reviews

Very difficult to cancel subscriptionAn app could not possibly be more difficult, challenging and more confusing to close so that you are not constantly charged subscription fees. There’s no way you could cancel within the ‘free’ trial period with all the e-mails asked to be sent requesting the cancellation and then waiting to get a response only to learn that you need to send more e-mail requests. Basically, you’ll have to close your credit card that the subscription is attached to in order for the charges to stop. I’d avoid this app completely - not worth the hassle! If the app will like to improve, I suggest it simply adds a ‘delete subscription’ button. Simple, done, happy customer may come back again later when more photos need to be scanned..Version: 23.2

Could be good but....After using the free google photo scanner I was really disappointed when I tried to scan a certificate that was not flat and it warped the shot whereas the google app always flattens distorted pictures. I would never waste money subscribing for this when googles free app does a much better job..Version: 15.3

Free trial didn't workI was happy to use this app to scan about 20 photos and signed up for free trial which still shows as expiring in 3 days (in other words it is still suppose to be active) but because I cancelled auto renew as a precaution in case I forget, it took away all the features of the free trial immediately. At this point my only choice is to pay to get access as I can't get the free trial back. I won't subscribe now for sure because I'm so disappointed that I didn't get to try out the features in the first place. It is way overpriced..Version: 24.0

They are like RansomwareYou can scan your photos and have limited tools, which is fine but the minute you try to save YOUR photo the app comes up with ridiculous membership fees. You take a screen shot of YOUR photo and then all your photos are covered in a watermark and the only way you can remove it is pay. It is fine if you want to charge people to use the AI portion of the app but to claim ownership with a watermark covering the full photo is real scummy. So your photos are pretty much held hostage for money.. don’t use there are a lot of apps out there that are reasonable..Version: 25.1

1.5 starsDuring the trial phase, this app worked like a wonder. Even in dim yellow light, it cropped, sharpened the images, and autocorrected the lighting. I paid for it, and things went downhill 90 degrees. I tried putting the photos in light, dark, and neon colored backgrounds, and still, the pics were getting cut all funky, on top of having the backgrounds taking up a chunk of the photos’ spaces. Nothing was auto adjusted anymore, the images come out blurry. If I would have known, I definitely wouldn’t have paid for this. I used white light, natural light, yellow light, positioned the pictures in all sorts of ways, and nope, they still came out bad. I hate writing negative reviews, but well, I have to because I’m so angry. If it wasn’t for the fact that I have thousands of old photos, I’d use this FREE app that takes longer, but works far better. I followed the Instructions by the developer(s) to the T and nope, doesn’t work well still. I read the negative reviews and when it came to people talking about quality, the developer denies any issues with the app. Nothing is perfect, and we are just giving you honest reviews to help you improve. Have some humility seriously..Version: 18.1

NOT a free app. Require subscription to view your photosWith hundreds of family photos to scan, this app seemed ideal. I downloaded what I thought was a free app, and set to work scanning photos. The description says ‘free with in app purchases’. Photomyne does NOT state up front that after a week, they will force you to purchase their service, which is not inexpensive. If you do not, you can not view ANY of the photos you scanned. I wasted hours and hate that it feels I’m now being blackmailed into purchasing their monthly service. If they’d been upfront with the cost? Might have purchased. The companies response is not sufficient. ‘In-app purchases’ suggest you can use the app for free, and purchase ‘extras’. Not having access to anything you scanned? That just amounts to a huge waste of time, unless you buy a subscription. It is absolutely dishonest. I know of no other apps that play such a deceptive game.Version: 23.2

Waste of my timeDo not download this app. I spent over two hours pulling photos and scanning them. Tried to save them to send to my son and the app requires an upgrade. You have to pay to save your photos that you paid to develop. I could have just taken a picture with my phone and been very happy. I downloaded the app because I thought it would save time scanning two at a time. Response- the description says to try the app out then decide if you want to upgrade. The information about having to buy a premium upgrade is 3/4 off the way through the description. So someone try the app, decides to save what they have scanned so far into a current album and is immediately blocked by the app with the requirement to purchase a premium upgrade. THEN. . . the app puts a watermark over my photo so I can’t view it or remove the watermark without buying a premium upgrade. YOU CAN DO BETTER. “Premium upgrade purchase required to use the app” should be the first thing consumers see..Version: 25.0

Charged earlyI saw today that I was charged £8.99 for this app even though I didn’t renew the subscription, I’m especially confused by this and would like to have a subscription on the basis that this app was downloaded on the 18th and today - the 21st - I was charged, even though it’s a seven day free trial and I hate four days of said trial left. I wasn’t sure of this until I checked the description of the app which clearly states a 7 day free trial, and while I understand the app states it may charge within 24 hours of the renewal period, I still had a few days until then, therefore I would greatly appreciate a refund as I have cancelled the subscription within the 7 days..Version: 17.3

DisappointedHalf my pictures disappeared after the app quit on me..Version: 28.6

Great for the first 5 minutesI started scanning the first few images, great start, was able to look at them and save them to my camera roll. I thought awesome! I’ll scan another 100 photos….by the time I got to the end I then needed to purchase the full app version to save them. This was only a once off project for my grandma’s old photos I don’t need to do that so I’m sure I can just screen shot all the photos. Great. Start screenshotting the images. Go back to the camera roll in the app and all of a sudden they all have water marks all over them. What a waste of time and effort. Completely unnecessary and gives you a false idea of a “free” app when as soon as you start using it you will be charged to go any further. Don’t bother..Version: 22.2

👎Absolutely diabolical GUI. The worst interface with an Apple device ever when it comes to saving the photos on other devices..Version: 27.3

Pay twice!Signed up paid and scanned some photos. Now if I want to share those I have to pay again!!! Not fair I’ve paid already..Version: 23.2

Not ImpressedNothing too special with the App at all. You can easily just take a photo with your Phone camera for free and just crop the image yourself. All this App does is automatically crops it and enhances the brightness, that’s literally it. The App also begs for money within one second of launching the App so that your able to “Save your Pictures.” That defeats the whole purpose of the App right? Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend this. EDIT: Responding to their email reply. It usually take no less than ten seconds using my camera to crop and enhance my photos manually using my camera roll. The difference is I’m able to save them for free without having to pay to save them. :).Version: 19.7

It’s ok - Hard to get good qualityAt times I’ve found I get better quality just by taking a normal photo with my phone camera and manually cropping it than I do using the app. When the app ‘fixes’ the photo, it seems to take the warmth out of them and reduces some of the quality. I think I would rather use a proper scanning machine than this app to digitise my photos. It is also very hard to get a decent photo without reflections, I’ve tried all sort of light set ups (none of us have ideal conditions for this, I would guess). Having said all that for quick scanning and sharing its a good app - just not good enough to rely on as the sole source of digital copies, in my opinion, and not worth the subscription fee that’s being charged. I paid for one month to give it a go and am glad I didn’t pay the cost for a whole year..Version: 20.0

Gets slower with useI was so excited when I first downloaded Photomyne that I went right for a 5 year membership. The “samples” I started with turned out wonderful! A few weeks later I put it to the test with over 400 photos. The first few were fast to crop and the voice feature worked slick. As I added photos, the cropping took longer and the voice feature occasionally worked. The most I added to an album was 150 pictures and it turned into a slow process. The quality was nice, but I ended up buying a light box so I didn’t have to rely on the natural lighting to avoid glares. I’m about 2/3 of the way through the stack and I’m frustrated with how slow it is to crop and the voice feature doesn’t work very often. I found it was faster to hold the button for 3 seconds than say “go” 5 times in a row. I am using and iPhone XR running iOS 14..Version: 19.4

Really love the potential for this AppI love the idea of colouring black n white photos. Bring old family photos to life is great, but, I just wish it could colour in inside the lines and colour all of the image. Finding that your expectations fall short because an image has colour and black n white - arms, legs, torsos, ears, lips and hair missed: it stands out and makes the reproduction look tacky. Generally, the app creates a great original copy of loose photos and the photos you import. It’s just the recolouring that proves to be a stumbling block. Other than that, the App has great potential and I hope it only gets better. Fingers x’d.Version: 16.2

Time consuming, NOT a free appThe app appears free, but in order to save many photos to your device, you must upgrade to a subscription. The initial price point is just to download the app. To save more than a couple photos to your device, you must subscribe to the app. It’s a time consuming process to scan your photos due to the abundant amount of pop ups any time you complete a single option. Each time you save a photo and attempt to view or edit it, you must wait through multiple pop ups of “photo successfully saved” and “your album is complete.” You cannot skip these pop ups, and there is no “ok” button to make them go away. You have to wait for each pop up to disappear on its own. Although only a fraction of a second long, the waiting time for the pop ups to disappear will add 10-15 minutes to the process if you’re scanning lots of photos. Photo quality is better than a few other apps I have tried, but still subpar without very steady hands. If you take a shaky photo, good luck wading through the 5 different panels in order to get to the delete option. Would not recommend for anyone who struggles with hand tremors. Altogether the app provides a misleading price point as well as a time consuming process. For a quicker, more easily navigated app: try Google Scan..Version: 22.4

PhotomyneIt does take me longer to scan my original photos, as I need to have a steady arm / hand while holding my iPhone or iPad. I did try 5 different black white photos to gage what the outcome would be. It was significantly noticeable that the skin tone’s would come out looking dark blue or a tattoo effect. I’ve decided to not change the black and white photos using the the digital colour as this loses the clarity and integrity of the photos dramatically. Reasons for my personal decision is that specific items of clothing worn by individuals in the photo would be blurry and indecisive on e.g. a brown leather jacket after using the digital colour settings the jacket blurred black and the skin tone was dark tattooed green and this person had never been tattooed on Great app for saving photos I definitely love using this app, also app gives great tips on how best to get quality photos using light and angles 👍‼️.Version: 22.4

Saving photosI enjoyed the app for about a day. Being able to scan my old and new polaroids was great. The quality of the photos are amazing. But I am extremely mad that your watermark is there. This is my photo, I should be able to save MY photo, you can change premium to get all the other features but having to pay ridiculous prices per year if you JUST want to save the photos is unacceptable. Please allow us to save the photos. Even if you have to watch an ad after or before saving the photo. I want to share these photos with people NOT advertise your company. Please lift the barrier off saving photos, it’s ridiculous..Version: 28.5

Hard to useI find the app hard to get to capture the entire photo. It’s always cutting something off even when you shut smart crop off.Version: 28.8

Terrible Customer Service...So I had seen this app, in an ad, on another one of my app and decided to download it. With me getting a bit older and technology advancing I thought it would be a great way to scan old baby pictures and photos of my grandparents that have passed away. Well waiting for the app to finish downloading, I started reading some of the reviews. The way the “Developer” answers his customers in their reviews in the “Developer Response” section had me blown away. I will not support a company that talks to their customers like that. To the people that rated the app 1 star and were not enjoying the app or having problems with it, he basically was calling them liars, saying that what they wrote was completely untrue, than would contradict on why they’re untrue in another review. To the people that rated it four stars he would later on in the “developer response” say contact support does that give us a five star out now.🤦‍♀️ One review was about how someone had paid for “one time payment” subscription and than saw an expiration date on it... The Developer was kept insisting there was a “one time payment” in a bunch of reviews and then he goes to say that we only have “monthly” “yearly” and a “five-year” subscription there is no one time payment option it is a five-year plan. 🙄 That is beyond misleading to be telling your customers that it is a one time payment for this subscription if it is only valid for 5 years. I will not be downloading any apps from Photomyne. I will be deleting this app without even opening it. I REFUSE TO SUPPORT A COMPANY WITH THIS MUCH UNPROFESSIONALISM, MISDIRECTION, LYING AND FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY..Version: 19.3

Just a warning this is a paid app.Follow up, the developers are clearly precious about their product and don’t like it when people say the truth about the public experience to the app. They are afraid of loosing revenue. So instead of listening to the customers and enhancing the experience they fight back. I would now give this 0 stars If I could. Reading all the not so favourable reviews I found them quit antagonistic. Don’t deal with them if you can avoid it. Don’t be fooled by the free price on iTunes. You download then asked to subscribe after a trial. It is only a 7 day trial then money has to be handed over. Deleted app then and there. It’s only when you read the massive blurb about what the app is about does it tell you about the price. Feel this is a little misleading so only download if your serious about paying for this app..Version: 16.1

What every happened to purchasing softwareI hate what has happened to the software these days. What ever happened to purchasing something and owning it if you liked it? This software takes it to the next level of evaluating the software and forces you to watch a complete 30 second video of useless crap. Even YouTube doesn’t subject you to such cruelty. I had tried this software in the past and figured my phone resolution was the problem. Testing it again today with an iPhone 13 and I am impressed but after trying 2 photos and than having to jump through all the adds and popups from this software I am looking online to just purchase a photo scanner. At least I will own that when I am done using it.Version: 26.1

Choose another appThis app is capable of scanning a slide. That’s when the problems begin. It is very difficult to move slides to the computer or hard drive for storage. Pop-ups are endless, asking for upgrades and signing up for premium models, if declined, they are followed by multiple inappropriate and useless advertisements. I made the mistake of buying this app for copying my slides..Version: 27.4

Ridiculous. There are so many things wrong with this company I don’t even know where to start. The app isn’t even that bad. It’s the way the people running this app conduct themselves and their business that’s the major issue. If you go through and read their responses to people who have left negative reviews you’ll see that their customer service abilities are extremely lacking in most cases. My other major issue is the fact that they call something a “one time payment” when in fact that’s an outright lie because that “one time payment” has an expiration date and you WILL be charged again. Oh the irony. Just call it what it is, (a payment plan) and stop pulling this stuff with your customers. It doesn’t matter if you do put it in the fine print, it’s still a scam to call something one thing when it’s clearly not what you’re selling it as. Like I said, the app does work, but the underlying circumstances are what do harm to their reputation as a company and people should consider these things before dealing with said company..Version: 19.8

Not there yetI appreciate the effort but it is not there yet. AI engine needs more training. It gets confused if I scatter the photos randomly on a table - it cannot detect the edges of the photos; and gives a wrong mix, some photos are combined into one, and other photos are split into two photos. Even if I line up the photos carefully with distinct gaps separating photos it sometimes fails to detect edges correctly. At other times it works fine. The app is pricey too. I do not like the subscription model. With one time payment options I can purchase only upto 2 years. Recurring price of $10/mo adds up very quickly, and I am wondering if it would be lot cheaper to take shoebox full of prints to a local photo scanning service and have them digitize all for a one time fixed cost? Or even buy a photo scanner for a fixed one time cost? The freemium version is useless since it saves in low quality..Version: 19.8

These are my photosPhotomyne scans the photos really well. Mine ran a little darker than the original, but that’s fixable and probably due to bad lighting on my end. So the service is amazing until you try to back up your photos. I’m on a quest to get ALL of my photos on one hard drive. From there, I’ll share via USB to family. Photomyne has a SHARE button. This is very easy to use. Select your album or your individual photos and BAM! Sent via email(that’s all I’ve used) very easily. The photos download so that you open them in Photomyne. I don’t want to open them in Photomyne. I want MY pictures downloaded without having to report to the mother ship. So you have to tap on each picture, click on Save Image As and download ONE BY ONE. Photomyne, these photos are mine.I need you to help me get photos from albums and negatives to a digital form. I thank you for your help, but now you have to let go—of MY photos—and let them go easier and faster than one. photo. at a time. 🤦‍♀️.Version: 22.4

Needs workThere’s a lot of AI colouring apps out there and although this is pretty good it needs improvement. Skin tones are uneven and quite often there’s a lot of yellowing without any real change of shade in the original picture, this is something that other apps I’ve seen don’t appear to do. In common with other similar apps clothes always tend to be coloured blue. Annoying when you know that they are not. Perhaps an option to set certain areas to a known colour would help in this respect. Hopefully the developer will improve the app. I bought an upgrade but won’t be renewing unless there are some significant improvements. I suspect that most of these apps use a third party AI engine and I’m sure the technology will improve as it does provide a nice effect if you like to colour the black and white pictures you have..Version: 25.2

ScamDon’t try this app …. You have to pay almost $50 to do anything with it.Version: 23.2

Charging for a scan program ridiculousIt’s absolutely amazing that you charge for this service. I was excited to use the app, then, after loading it I see it is pay service to scan photos. It’s really sad because there are many free apps out there that do this, they may not be as good as yours, but charging for this is incredible. You should offer a basic scan service for free and have a pro subscription that offers more, a value to those that like your app, and want to add more features, but for those that just want to scan and go it should be free. For gods sake, Google offers a scan app that does the same thing for free...I was comparing yours to it to see which I liked better, I think I have my answer now. Sure, I’m just one little voice, but it’s amazing to me that you would charge even 1 penny for this service. The amount to me is irrelevant, it’s just the fact that charging for this is just ridiculous!.Version: 10.3

Why???This app is great for the first few photos but then its pretty much is useless after the watermark pops up and like seriously guys I’m trying to capture my family moments not advertise your company. I can no longer show my family those photos because your water mark is all over the photo I can’t even see any faces or anything because of it. And every single feature needs premium and it’s literally so over priced it’s nearly $70 aud for 1 year of premium and u get 3 days free there’s just no point you would think if you make an app so you can cherish those valuable moments and save to your device you would think they would let you instead of charging you $70 for an app you probably won’t even use that much but the photos are good but that’s it. PLEASE make premium features unlock or something like watch an ad and get 1 hour premium or something PLEASE!!!!.Version: 19.9

You have to pay to access your photosYou have to pay 12.99 monthly in order to download the photos.Version: 21.1

Good Tech - Predatory Pricing ModelThe technology is good. My major complaint is that they leave out obvious technology for the purpose of getting you to pay for their annual fees for their online service. There is no way to directly move scanned photos from the app to a PC - an obvious feature that other apps include. To get your pictures to a PC you have to upload to their paid service then download from their online service to a PC. A very annoying and easily solved choke point. But they don’t want you to put your photos on your PC. They want to charge you annual fees for their online service. Their pricing model also effectively requires you to pay for a one year subscription unless you can get all your albums scanned, uploaded and downloaded in two months or less. if you are willing to pay the one year fee, and can put up with their up and down roadblocks to getting your photos on your PC, the software is good. I would MUCH prefer to pay a one time fee for the app - even if the fee was the same or even higher than a one year subscription and be able to transfer my photos directly from the app to my PC in my own time. But this is unlikely ever to be an option as it would subvert their business model of trying to lock you in to a long term annual fee to manage your photos on their service. Sadly I wish I could rave about the technology but their predatory pricing model leaves me focused on the pricing and up/down pain points that really annoy me. UPDATE: The developer responded with the same cut and paste response they use to reply to every review thar criticizes their business model. There is nothing in their response that is news. They avoided addressing the issues I raised. I paid for a subscription so I could use their deliberately cumbersome route to getting MY photos on MY PC to avoid their endless fees. All they need to do is give the consumer the option to pay a one time fee (same as a yearly subscription would be fine with me) to avoid the subscription and pay them a fair price for an otherwise terrific app. Had they included that as an option the app would have gotten a glowing 5 star review. But as it stands I give their app only a 2. Terrific tech - but a horrible, needless for many, predatory pricing model..Version: 28.6

Disappointed with Storage SystemSo far I have digitized photos, negatives and written materials. When you see the scans, they look great and have the things written on the back of them easily accessible. HOWEVER, if you try yo download them to anything other than google (say, your computer), the photos download in an inoperable zip file. If you download an individual photo (the app puts even 2 photos in a zip file), it will open, but no longer connects to the back of the photo. In other words, Photomyne is trying to trap you into using and paying for the app forever, which will undoubtedly collapse at some point in the future, leavening you with no access to your photos after expending a fair amount of time and energy on the project. Personally, I would be willing to pay a bit more for true and permanent access to my photos..Version: 27.4

Great app, BUT...Really love this app and it scans photos great and really brings the life back to them BUT it’s just not worth the monthly or yearly subscription. You wouldn’t use it enough each month to justify the price. I would suggest a one off app payment. There are other apps out there that do the same job, just as well, and cost A LOT less. I’d recommend getting all the photos you want to scan ready, use the free trial and scan everything and then delete the app. Maybe make it a paid app and let people pay the one off price as the subscription it just too much for what’s on offer..Version: 17.3

Buyer BewareTried to sign up for the 7 day free trial for this app and immediately started running into problems. First, the app application came up and said it was only a three day free trial. Red flag, minor bait and switch. When I tried to access the app, after I gave my billing info, it told me to log in. Problem number 2. The app did not take me through a process to set up a log in. When I tried to get a login for my account it gave me the message account not found. Fortunately, I kept all my email replies and was able to “cancel” my subscription. No refund on the “processing fee” however. Problem number three. When I tried to get through to customer service my only option was conversing with an AI bot that could not understand what the problem was. When I tried to get thru to a human being, or some facsimile thereof, but a got a message that CSR is not available outside of 9AM to 6AM UTC. Transposed to American that means they are only available between 11:00AM and 2:00PM EST. In other words three hours a day, if you can even get through. So, buyer beware.Version: 27.4

Useless without subscriptionThe developer can claim all he wants that the subscription “is optional”, but the truth is that without overpaying for this app with a subscription, the app is basically useless. All of the useful functionality with this app is disabled until you pay the big bucks. Too bad....it’s a decent app otherwise. ***reply** I didn’t say it should be free. I said that you’re being forced to overpay with a subscription! I’d happily pay for software that I actually owned after paying for it! What happened to paying for software outright?? What value am I getting by “subscribing”. Hell...your so called “one-time payment” isn’t even really that as it apparently only lasts five years! I’m all for software devs being paid for their work (I am one myself) but the subscription model is a money grab plain and simple. I should be able to buy your software and walk away a satisfied customer. The software is great...and would be awesome if I could actually own it..Version: 18.2

I would be enjoying the app if I could get answersI was very impressed with the product when I trialed it! So much so, in view of the number of photos I need to scan and the time consuming transfer to lap top I purchased a years subscription! The time I have wasted today to resolve an issue has negated the positives! Since buying the upgrade I’m continually told ‘no internet’! I contacted the help line and was given instructions, followed them and got ‘no internet’! Went on line to help desk! Closed!! The quality of the scanned photos is brilliant sadly customer service isn’t!.Version: 19.0

SubscriptionI downloaded photomyne when it was free to scan and save your photos, but i was sad to see that it has changed since. Although photomyne was a very good editing service, the cost to subscribe is very expensive..Version: 22.4

🤬DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!I downloaded this app because it sounded really amazing. I didn’t get a subscription, because I always test out the free version first! And I also read the reviews, and I am deleting this app and will never use anything by Photomyne- don’t even know if I spelled their name correctly, and I don’t care. There were more negative reviews than positive ones. A lot more. And the way the developers answered these people was in a mean, insulting, and extremely rude way. Telling them stuff like what the person is complaining about isn’t true, and that the person is lying. As well as the usual shift the question to ‘customer service’, so that they don’t have to deal with the people’s questions, probably because they know the person is correct. *** Since when is calling a customer a LIAR, considered Good Customer Service?!? A few of the responses sounded like they were coming from an A$$HOLE!! One of the other most concerning things I found was that if you are using the free version, you cannot access your photos on any other device except for the device you used to scan them with. As well as that once your photos are stored in their app, you cannot get your photos UNLESS you pay $$ for a subscription! How are they allowed to keep peoples photos hostage unless people agree to pay for a subscription plan?!? 🤔🙄🤥 ***If you don’t want to take a chance on LOSING your precious photos, DO NOT GET THIS APP!! ***If you read the reviews and agree, please post your own warning, so others won’t get ripped off by these people, and be treated like garbage! Thank you..Version: 22.1

Greedy dev teamI downloaded this app the day it arrived on iOS. Then it was updated and started to charge subscription fees after I had paid the £4:99 to buy it. All the other apps I have bought before they swapped to the yearly costs a fortune subscription ( which is more profitable for them much more expensive and with fewer features for us )all the other apps bought at pro level give you a free and permanent yearly subscription for £0:00 because when u buy a pro app that includes everything we enter a lifelong contract because we buy a pro version which included everything forever. I was told to talk to Support by this company and they refused to do that which is actually a scam because when I previously paid full price the App Store advert for photo mine said unlimited scanning of old photos and photos could be made to look bright shiny and new again. However without warning they decided to change and charge everyone for everything even if you bought everything. Why on earth don’t photomyne support old customers ? If we had not bought your app your business would not exist anymore. Yet they expect us to pay every year or every month for a service we already bought for life. This is fraudulent and a scam. See LoopyLou review as well. I have a huge following on Instagram Facebook and Twitter and oggl and Flickr so does Lou yet they dump on old users. Not a reputable company at all. And they now change the apps name ? Why ? Why disrespect your oldest users?.Version: 15.3

OK … well, sort of !I already have a photo enhancing app which is pretty good, and free, but I’m always open to suggestion so gave this one a try. Hmm, more by luck than judgement I managed to enhance an image, the process seemed convoluted and unnecessarily complicated and the result looked to be more akin to a cartoonified representation than a digitally enhanced rendering. Don’t get me wrong, if I hadn’t already got a really good app which I’d rate as better then I’d probably have been more impressed than I was. Apart from all that, the constant drop downs from the get go trying to get you to sign up to the ‘ better’ package were annoying and difficult to ignore. Verdict: Goodish but not better, and for that reason …. ‘Deleted’ !.Version: 23.1

Be carefulBe aware of this as I just found out. I have 74 photos that i previously scanned in the app and another device. Unless I have a subscription, I cannot access these photos. Without a subscription, you have access to the app on the device you scanned with. However, without the subscription, if the app is deleted or you switch devices, you'd need the subscription to restore them. Poor customers to be forced to access their info and data. Will not be using this app and have requested support to delete all my info..Version: 17.1

Tired of subscription appsWanted to give this a go, being a designer I think it may have been useful. Usually I download an app, try it out for a bit then upgrade for paid version if I use it often. Seems developers have caught on to this and now prefer to use auto renewal subscription methods for users to have full access. This I am not prepared to do. There are plenty of similar apps out there. If we subscribe to 10 apps, which is not unreasonable imagine how much we are actually paying out every month for what is essentially a phone app. Every phone app That I personally download that requires subscription is deleted immediately. Sorry but it’s a phone not a computer..Version: 17.0

Happy but with drawbacksThe app works really well. The letdown is the high subscription cost. I’d happily pay a one off, $20 but not $70 for 5 years. It’s a big ask. I understand that subscriptions better support developers’ ongoing costs for updating the app to work with new versions of iOS, but... What if I just need this app to work until iOS 13? What if I don’t update my iPhone beyond that? Or, how about you say, “Hey we see that you bought this is in iOS 12 - to continue support in 13, you’ll need to pay an additional $10. That would feel fairer. It would also be great if you could use your earphones’ volume controls to start a scan - instead of holding the button for 3 seconds and making your phone wobble..Version: 18.1

Great app but top menu placement is bad!Love this app, but the menu icon on the left and the profile icon on the right are useless on iOS, you cannot use them because they're right in the top corners and iOS already has pull-down navigation installed for the iPhone's own function so no gestures are recognised, you cannot use the back arrow to I have to exit the app and go back in again, please fix, lower the menu, back arrow and profile icons, they are as far into the top corners as they can possibly be but don't need to be. many thanks...Version: 22.0

Too expensive and unfairI took a 4 photos of old baby pictures and it was amazing worked really well however was still some light on it. I then downloaded them to my camera roll and thought it was amazing. I then went to take some more and again worked really well but as I went to save them it said I have reached my limit even though it was only 4 and told me that to get more I need to pay which is like £30 a year. I tried ss them but it didn’t let and added a watermark so I can no longer even look at them on the app without a watermark all over it. Not happy..Version: 24.0
