✓ Shadow blade 1 in a new outfitLook i am a massive fan of the original shadow blade but this is a bit of a rip off for the price you pay, i mean the levels havent really changed much and the controls are confusing. seriously a few tips for the developers are: 1-fix the control outfit or allow it to be customised 2-put in the classic shadow blade closeness back in the game it seems like your looking from quite far away 3-ninja stars why? yes i know its a ninja thing but the first few levels were made quite hard because the game kept activating them when i wanted to use the sword 4-why are the graphics kind of grainy.Version: 1.02

✓ The same as the original, but with worse controlsI've only played a couple of levels, which are the same as levels from the original (which is free). The in game graphics look pretty much the same, although the original looked great anyway. There's a new shuriken throw button, which unfortunately has meant the original controls of left side of screen for movement / right side for attack are gone and replaced by fiddly buttons. I just can't get used to it, accidentally throwing away all my shurikens and falling helplessly into the dreaded spike pits. Please restore the original left side / right side controls, maybe use a double tap for the shuriken throw!.Version: 1.01

✓ Screw thisIt is just the same as the last game, but now it is a lot buggier. If I try to hit the shoot button it will use the sword and a lot of the time the game just freezes and it freezes again if I restart the mission. The first game is less complicated and the timed challenges are a lot more accomplish able. I would recommend the first game instead of this..Version: 1.02

✓ Room for improvementWHAT WORKS: -Cool graphics and sound. -Smooth frame rate. -Appealing character designs. -43 levels and 4 boss encounters. -Levels are fairly large. -Decent variety of enemies. -Compelling storyline told by comicbook style cutscenes. -Not having to achieve AAA scores to unlock all the levels. -No IAP. WHAT DOESN'T WORK: -Combat isn't that fun. -The action buttons are too small and placed to closely to each other. -The controls can be non-responsive. -Glitches where you walk into walls and fall into floors pop up later in game. -Found two separate instances of the game freezing. -Graphics are too scaled out. -Towards the end, becomes far more frustrating than fun. -Huge file size for a 2-D side-scroller without animated cinematics or voice acting. VERDICT: Until a patch is issued to address at least some of these issues, wait for this to go on sale. Not a horrible title by any means. But, as is, definitely not worth $5..Version: 1.01
✓ Beware of shady business with developer and Apple. Does not work on newer devices.I never write reviews really but can’t help it this time. It’ll be worth it if it saves even one person the frustration. Bottom line I believe this is a really cool game. It’s fun and has really nice graphics and art style in my opinion. It’s just that it would be great if it actually worked on newer devices. I have 13 Pro Max and it’s basically unplayable. It freezes and glitches BADLY. You may get lucky for one round just to find it keeps happening over and over again. 90% of the time it’s straight up unplayable. What’s more is that it doesn’t fill the entire screen, it’s 16x9 and hard to see and the notification/status bar (time network status and battery level) don’t ever disappear. I can understand if it simply isn’t profitable for the developer to update the app for modern devices but the bare minimum right thing to do would be to add a disclaimer in the description stating that. Simple really. But then they would squeeze out as many dollars as possible regardless of the dishonesty. Adding insult to injury, Apple denied my refund request even though I immediately uninstalled it and submitted a refund request with 24 hours. “My request “did not meet the conditions for a refund.” If a broken app doesn’t meet the conditions, what will? Do your research before to buy old apps. I learned the frustrating way. Apple will gladly sell you duds and bold face deny refund. Shame..Version: 1.02

✓ Needs workThe dungeon levels feel empty in comparison to earlier levels. If you are thrown off the iron fist enemy the character mapping is thrown off too. Occasionally fall through floors and walls. Gotten stuck on a ledge a few times unable to jump off or pull yourself up. Struggle to double dash to the right. Throwing stars automatically throw to the right even if you start facing left in the air. Seems rushed..Version: 1.01

✓ My dislike continues to growThe review by GoodGuyAvetis is right. It seems that the dividing line separating the left and right buttons isn't centered on my iphone 6. Therefore tapping right makes my ninja go left sometimes. Actually it does that a lot (going left instead of right). eg, instead of ⬅️ | ➡️ it feels like ⬅️ |➡️ As you can see there's not much tapping area for right button. If you tap a little to the left of right button, you'll go left. I have to stretch out my thumb and position it more towards the center of the screen in order to be certain my ninja guy will go right when I tap right otherwise it's a crapshoot (he'll inexplicably go left and get killed). It's awkward and so uncomfortable, my thumb reverts back to a more natural position if I forget about it during gameplay. As a result, I keep dying over the lamest sht like going in the wrong direction. I can't say if this is a problem on other devices with differing screen sizes because idk. I just know it's a problem when I play on my iphone 6. That's why I don't enjoy playing this game because it's so frustrating. It ruins the whole thing. Do I regret buying this game? Hell yeah I do. Therefore I cant recommend it if you have a device with a similar sized screen. (Assuming that's the problem). Why can't you developers just shift the perimeters for both left and right buttons just a little more to the left? Then the dividing line would shift a little left and become more centered resulting in more tapping area for the right button. To be honest, I don't have much confidence they'll even look into it seeing how they infrequently update their games and their tendency to just stop updating altogether after barely a year since release. I hope I'm wrong though..Version: 1.02
✓ Nothing NewShadow Blade: Reloaded is a well-made platformer, but it quickly wears itself out. If you've ever played Mega Man, then you know what this is about. It's about repetition, learning where the enemies are, when to jump, etc. It's about getting a perfect run, and that's fine if that's what you're into..Version: 1.02

✓ Mfi brokenPressing left on the controller brings up the pause menu. Controls pretty much don’t work at all during menus. Touch controls do not disappear when using the controller. I don’t mess with touch controls when playing platformers and other games of the like (I don’t know why anyone would), so this game is unplayable.
