Since then I am not able register as I am not getting OTP on my registered mobile number. I called customer care centre which promptly took the issue in a hurry and said it will be resolved within 10 days, and suggested to write a email to their senior official or to contact the home branch if it’s urgent. Home branch answered the 100th call and suggested to wait for few hours and try despite telling them that I have been trying for the past 3 days. I am trying to call the home branch again without success. As per many other reviews this app does not help NRIs and may cause more problems to those like me who have stopped receiving SMS OTPs (six months as of April 2022). To register your account with this App what do you need? Yes - an OTP which never arrives! The dangerous bit maybe that registering then disconnects your online banking from sending you SMS OTPs. I am now locked out of online banking with SBI as an OTP is required for the mandatory change of password - which you get no warning about! A situation of being away from the country and trying to transfer some funds through SBI is like mission impossible. Different type of OTPs go to different mobile numbers. Need to remember another password for accessing profile. What a mess SBI - I understand it’s all done for safety but what is the point in making things so hard that it never works and blaming it on safety. Request your developing team to at least refer apps from other banks to see how lightweight, modern and easy it is to use. From the app ratings it is pretty clear that all are having the same issue. Imagine an abroad customer who needs to send multiple international sms’es (getting charged each time) to find out that it wont work and to try over again. I am a UK resident and thought an app would be handy to generate OTP than relying on the network whilst in India. However, the app has a serious issue with registration and I am stuck with no OTP as SBI has stopped sending OTPs to the registered mobile number. The customer service at my branch has no clue to resolve this. Apparently, I am supposed to inactivate the secure OTP linked to my account via the app, but God help you with registration which is a nightmare. ✓ Registration doesnt workI thought I’d use this App because half the times the OTP is not received on my (UK) mobile number or registered email. I typically spend on average 3 tries for each simple bank transfer I need to do with SBI. The registration process for this App requires an OTP, which again is not received. What a joke! Not sure why SBI mandates using OTP for all online bank transfers, when clearly it is not able to manage the process properly. I understand the importance of online security, but it should not be taken to a point that it is nonsensical and makes banking with SBI impossible..Version: 2.2.1
✓ This is just so wrong!!A very unhappy customer, first SMS to NRI was not coming. ✓ I would give it 0 stars if I couldThis is a pathetic app! It only sends OTP to your registered mobile and if you don’t have accessibility to your sim then you are screwed! The bank is not able to update to an international phone number! Bank staff are not trained and Ill informed and in general rude and inefficient. Very sad state of affairs for one of the largest Indian banks! No help from online support staff either! Bottom line no one cares for your business as a customer! Originally OTP could be received on email but that has stopped for “security reasons”???? Why is your phone more secure than email?.Version: 2.2.2
