✓ It's The Room: 4If you are a super-fan of The Room series of games like I am, get this immediately. This game is so incredibly similar to those games that it astonishes me there hasn't been a lawsuit already. Everything from the art style, the inventory, the puzzles, the eyepiece, the story, the notes left by your mentor, the borderline between science and alchemy theme, the eerie but not scary ambiance, the hint system, the list goes on. For all it's similarities though, there are some subtle differences. I found the puzzles to be slightly (only slightly) more frustrating than puzzles in The Room games, with the next step in a puzzle sometimes being a little too obscure. Other notable differences are the historical setting and a new mode added to the eyepiece, allowing the user to see glimpses of the past. The only thing I can criticize the game on is sometimes the touch controls feel somewhat clunky and imprecise, lending to frustration when trying to preform basic interactions, particularly on smaller objects. Overall, this game is definitely worthy of picking up for any true puzzle game fan, just like the any of The Room games, and is a shining example of what a puzzle game should strive to be. ✓ Awesome game full of challenges and incredible 3D simulations.PROS. This game has you hooked from the first click. The background music is very pleasant and not at all intrusive. If you are stuck in a puzzle scene, after a short time , some hints are provided to assist you in solving the puzzle. The 3D graphics are true rendered 3D simulations with many 3D true animations. Although we are fairly experienced in playing this style of game, it took us 17 hours to complete. This is a compliment for the complexity of the game which has many challenging puzzles to complete. CONS We felt that the storyline was somewhat weak. With a few of the puzzles we had to check a walkthrough, and even then we only fluked on resolving the puzzle. SUMMARY This game is a definite must buy if you like this style of game. We have already purchased the next in the Leonardo series. We hope you enjoy the game as much as we have enjoyed it. ✓ Captivating!I've been a big fan of The Room series. DaVinci proved to be even more challenging in many ways. The game is very well constructed, and the graphics and music are beautiful. I've ignored my family for two days while I finished the game. My 10 year old daughter is now playing and loving it. Some of the puzzles are a bit challenging for her, but in terms of content, I would consider this game to be fine for children. I'm helping her on some of the more difficult puzzles. My one and only complaint about the game is regarding the hints. I tried not to use them in general, but sometimes I caved when I got stuck for a while. More than once, the hints I was given pertained to a part of the game I'd already completed. I hope a sequel is under development!!.SHHN10Version: 1.0.1

✓ Good game - not for iPhoneI have been thoroughly enjoying this game and highly recommend it - but I very much wish I had started it on my iPad instead of my iPhone. The small screen size definitely makes finding objects and manipulating them difficult at times, and can even make figuring out some of the puzzles a lot more challenging than the puzzles really demand. That said - as others have noted, this game plays very much like The Room series, on which it is clearly modeled. The puzzles are fairly straightforward for the most part, although if you are as spatially challenged as I am, some of them can take a while to figure out :) For me, the overall challenge level is just about right - not so easy that I am flying through the game, but not so hard that I am throwing my device across the room (or watching walkthroughs) at every turn. ✓ Loved itNice to have another puzzle game like the room as there isn't to many around which is a surprise as the room was such a success. Found the oculus wouldn't always work and show up the puzzle underneath it, had to have another go to make it show up, but that could be me or my iPad. Some of the games I really haven't got a clue how I completed them, as I think it was more of trial and error to do it, as the clues didn't always make it clear. As previously noted was very dark in places, but it's is very good puzzle games and I throughly enjoyed completing it and I look forward to a follow on from this one, but maybe not quite so expensive, as at 4.99 not sure if I would buy it..Shazza_Rose4Version: 1.0.1

✓ Enjoyable if particularly challenging at timesYes, it appears to be a bit of a rip off of The Room series, but is sufficiently different from The Room to stand up on its own. I would rate the puzzle challenges as somewhat harder than the room overall, and did rely on hints more. I find that I did struggle with one aspect here, more so than The Room, and that is the way that so many puzzles seem to be puzzles for puzzles sake. The Room tried to deal with this (with some but not complete success) by embedding successive puzzles in layers, thus lending to a sense of purpose as each layer is penetrated. But there were times in House of DaVinci where I just felt that the puzzle was obtuse and complicated and roundabout just because. Fun? Yes, still fun, but with a degree of pointlessness that made me feel less engaged with the game. It's probably a tough criticism to level at a game like this because well, that is what this game is all about, so I suppose many won't agree with me on this. ✓ Yes, it is similar to The Room series.This has been mentioned in previous reviews, but this game is clearly inspired by the "The Room" series. So much so that it even features the monocle piece device. It also has very similar artwork and captures the same intrigue as its predecessor. I enjoyed the puzzles and setting the game offered. The story was also impressive, but I prefer the mystical aspect The Room series had to offer. Although, near the ending it did add more of a mystical element. Even though one cannot call this exactly original, it is still well made and entertaining. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of how much this game borrows from The Room (I would have liked to have seen new features). ✓ Yes, butLike many others I came to this as a Room fan. There’s a lot that’s similar, great graphics, intriguing puzzles, some new and some quite different from the Room. I found some puzzles overly complicated, with little logic, trying to be clever but not quite pulling it off, and had to go looking for online guides. I got irritated with this game in ways that I never did with the Room, because the rationale for certain actions and solutions was disconnected from the flow of the thing. I actually hated some bits, especially those which either needed precision movements or they wouldn’t work (sliding tile stuff), or where a solution was shown, but still couldn’t get it to complete (the church tower one). It is a good game, well worth the money, but I remain a firm fan of the Room which just works better in a more intuitive way. ✓ WowI loved the room trilogy and have been awaiting a similar game. Having read some of the reviews comparing it to and exceeding the room I though why not. Played for an hour or so, currently on the part after the second fireball and stuck on the 3rd puzzle in that part. It’s a little challenging, especially at 5am on a night shift! The graphics are great, it runs very smooth on my 8plus, and the added bonus of searching for drawings of DaVinci inventions and then getting to see how they work in the achievements section. ✓ “Room” for another?I went on the App Store in hope of finding something like the room series to tide me over until four comes out. I did not think I would find something SO similar it might as well be the next instalment in the room series. Similar to the point that it even features the same puzzles, general atmosphere, letters from some unseen correspondent and magical eye pieces. If it wasn’t such a high quality production it would be pretty cheeky really but this is as easily good as the room series but welcomingly larger, probably harder and more ambitious - some of the puzzles seem to go on forever! Main issue, as other reviewers have noted is that it very dark in its lighting, meaning some of the puzzle solutions involve randomly tapping in the dark rather than figuring something out unless you turn your brightness up to full... Some puzzles are ridiculously easy...most are ok...I’ve not come across any that are hard. They’ve used a similar story technique used by The Room series, which is via notes left for you. However, in The Room series you are following in the footsteps of someone who has been lost in time in ‘another’ dimension - in this game you are following in Da Vinci’s footsteps who seems to in trouble and is being followed...yet he some how manages to still have time to write letters etc. More or less the puzzles are good, the rooms are great, the game looks beautiful...but the story is a little thin and not well thought out... ✓ Generally quite good, UX has some issuesGenerally a very good game. I enjoyed playing it. Comparisons to The Room are great, too many, really. I liked the Di Vinci perspective. But the UX was frustrating at times. Zooming was especially random, sometimes you could look 360 degrees, sometimes not, and sometimes you could get directly where you wanted to go, and sometimes you had to do crazy zoom in and zoom outputs to make a lateral move. The surfaces and scenery were gorgeous, games adequately challenging. But sometimes I solved a puzzle just by touching it to see what the controls did, and sometimes when I knew just what I needed to do I either couldn’t see or the controls were overly difficult to simply get to move. The puzzles are not for kids, they're genuinely testing, so aren't at all patronising. Only one fault; the hints can come up a bit late. But make sure you read everything that comes up on screen as you play, I missed a lot thinking it was just a description of what I'd just found, when, in fact, there were hidden clues in the description. ✓ I'd give 5 stars, but...As a fan of puzzle games/escape rooms, I really really like this game. Nice graphics, interesting story and fun puzzles kept me very entertained. The problem was with the oculi (hope I spelled that right) when it wanted to work everything was all good, but when it didn't I would wonder around questioning if I did something wrong, of course I was doing it right, but it was glitched and then I'd have to go to the net to see what I needed to do, because no matter how many times I'd refresh the chapter it still didn't work. I see that I'm not the only one with this problem and I'm playing on an iPad mini. Developers please fix your glitches!!! ✓ Worth the purchase but can get very frustratingHaving played similar games (in particular the Room series) I’d say this is overall one of the better ones. I don’t regret the purchase, and I liked it enough to buy the second one. Lots of game to play, very nice graphics, some very interesting and creative puzzles that were a nice mix of brain and brawn. However... I must echo what others have said: too many of the puzzles are not intuitive and the hints in those cases did not help much. I stumbled through a couple of puzzles by accident and am pretty sure I totally missed all clues that should have led me there. In other cases, I never would have solved them without online tutorials and walk throughs, and sometimes even after a walk through it was still not exactly clear how they got the answer. I like to know the how and the why, not just the actual answer. I also think hints should make you go “oh geez, how did I miss that!” not “seriously? How in the world was I ever supposed to figure that one out?”... and so for that I can’t quite give it 5 stars. Graphics, music and sound are really good but the navigation and excessive moving around in a few places is clunky and tedious and gets a bit annoying. It’s also very touchy in a few places... and things like levers being placed too close to the edge of the screen so every time you touch it the game closes made me almost quit a few times. :/ Hopefully that’s a little better in the next one. The room was great and I have been replaying all three of them as there nothing quite like them until now. All the mechanisms of puzzle solving, looking around, zooming, moving around and storytelling are similar as well as graphics. However I personally wouldn't call this production a ripoff. It's more of tribute paid to and inspiration taken from the famous series. The plot line is even more consistent, the story is extremely interesting and there are some graphical tricks that developers of The Room can learn from. ✓ Amazing gameI really loved this game. It took me awhile to complete it as I did it in increments. I did use the hint system more than a few times but sometimes just because I was lazy. I had to go online to solve a puzzle 2 times. Then I could've kicked myself because the solution was so "easy". The artwork and detail are really beautiful and there is really no repetition in the puzzles or solutions. Some of the puzzles are similar to The Room but the whole concept is similar so that's to be expected; it's what I love about the whole genre. It is beyond me how these creators even come up with these concepts, then design and implement them. I'm very impressed. I loved the DaVinci theme and setting. The way that you move through the game, look around the room/area and zoom into objects is a great experience. You discover a variety of items to use in the game, some of which require some manipulation before you use them, which is unusual and refreshing. ✓ Surprisingly a very good gameI had seen this advertised and thought about buying it, I left it as the new Room came out, now I’ve played the Room 8 or more times I thought about The house of Da Vinci, took the plunge and I’m really happy I did, great game, graphics aren’t up as high as Fireproof’s The Room but still very good. I’ve now played it a few times and enjoyed going back and replaying chapters....the only down I’ve found is if you have returned to a level and have to quit for some reason, it doesn’t save to where you are, you’ve got to replay the whole level......still, all in all, a good game......MarcHollowayVersion: 1.0.5

✓ Let’s be honest: it’s very fiddly...Yes, this game is comparable with The Room series - it’s great looking and has interesting puzzles - but it’s very fiddly! I’ve spent ages trying to complete individual challenges, because the pieces won’t move or, even more frustrating, get part way only to slip back. The dual viewer is also tricky to manipulate. Oh, and it’s so dark in places that I’ve had to adjust my screen brightness. My son is finding it easier going as he has an iPad Pro while I’m using an iPad Mini. Obviously, the bigger screen the better, which isn’t true of The Room. It’s the first game I’ve had a hard time putting it down even when I should be getting to sleep or taking care of something else. I was actual a bit sad to reach the end, I wanted it to keep going and going with more rooms, puzzles, etc. The game starts just a tad bit slow but once you get past the first room you’ll be hooked by what comes next. It gets better and better as you go through the game. The puzzles are fantastic and everything is extremely well thought out and planned to perfection. You folks have to make several sequels. My congratulations to you for a job extremely very well done. You have certainly raised the bar for what other developers must now attempt to achieve and offer. ✓ Good graphics but illogical puzzlesThis games has mostly excellent graphics, albeit a bit dark at times especially at the start. But much better from the middle onwards. The challenges and puzzles are numerous. A few were good and required a logical and patient mind. But many were random and required you to find clues elsewhere in the game. Normally a good game routine but, in this case, you are limited where you can go back to and clues appear where they weren't when you were first there. Also you get into a routine of double tapping items on the screen to see if anything happens, rather than knowing what to look for. It would be impossible to complete without the clues, as there is no structure to the challenges. e.g. 'Go back and pick a flower'. (Made up: not a spoiler). And then you get through a very complicated puzzle which unlocks a small key, that unlocks a box in the room and you collect something else. Also you only ever have 2 or 3 items in your inventory, so you know ways of using them in the next scene. Frustrating for not the right reasons. ✓ Beautiful and engagingThis game is gorgeous and enthralling. The puzzle mechanics have some rough spots, though. First, the puzzles are inconsistent: the player sometimes needs to carry an unreasonably large object, even though it’s usually something tiny. Other times, some puzzles have very coarse mechanics, so that tapping them is all that’s needed, while others require you to swipe at a very precise angle. It would help a lot if the objects had consistent rules for interaction, too, so that actions like “opening” or “unlatching” could be actuated by the same swipe input patterns everywhere — most objects are fine, but one or two have glitches that end up really glaringly obvious. Second, the clues don’t always help. They are often ambiguous, and might refer to several different things. (Pretty much everything is a “medallion,” apparently.) There were times I was stuck to the point of frustration, simply because the clues were ambiguous, and left me looking in the wrong place. These problems left me feeling more frustrated than challenged at many points. There are some good puzzles for sure, but better consistency across all the puzzles would help. Criticism aside, I was absolutely enthralled by this game, playing nearly straight through. The graphics are beautiful, and drew me in every step of the way. ✓ BeautifulI love assassins creed 2 and this kinda has that vibe, it’s a very aesthetically pleasing gaming. The puzzles are the right kind of challenging but the only “complaint” I have to far is when you have to turn a key or something in your inventory the movement of the whole object is just as sensitive as the movement of the key, so I usually twirl around the box or my viewpoint of whatever I’m trying to unlock. That being said it’s just a minor annoyance, I have an iPhone 11 Pro and my screen is big so it’s not too bad, just something to think about. ✓ A Promising Start to a New SeriesEvery review is going to mention the Room series, and it's accurate. This is very much inspired by them, and it does a decent job satisfying those cravings. Most of the puzzles are clever and interesting, though some lose their logical through-line in the later parts. It doesn't feel as satisfying to solve them when the solutions are random. There was one puzzle I needed help with -- a color puzzle, where the rotating discs were indistinguishable for somebody with colorblindness like me. It would have been nice if the textures or color direction were more distinct. I took for granted how well The Room handled its touch controls until I played this. It's frustrating to try to pull a lever and instead toss the camera wildly every few swipes. Similar in nature, House of Da Vinci takes you through a simple tutorial before leaving you well and truely to your own devices (no pun intended) to discover what happened to your master. Although the ending is open in nature, paving the way for another sequel, it is quite satisfying and very well done. The responsive controls make the puzzles, which range in difficultly and vary in style, easy to manoeuvre most of the time. ✓ A decent room knockoffAs a huge fan of the room series and their take on the "escape the room genre" I'm constantly on the lookout for similar games that can hold me over until the next room game is finally released. While this game isn't as polished it's a worthy knockoff. Every now and then some actions like turning a crank or pulling open a drawer will get bogged down or laggy. It doesn't happen too much and most occurrences can easily be fixed by zooming out and then in on the object. Although there have been a couple of instances where I didn't know what to do next because the object I needed to move, turn, or whatever didn't respond to my command and I'd end up wasting time thinking the object I needed was somewhere else. That can be frustrating but with it being few and far between I still give this game a solid four stars. There's a story and some lore for people that like that otherwise it's just you stuck in one giant room after the next. No backtracking. No need to speak with other characters to get useful intel. The developers have quite clearly copied The Room closely, with lush interiors, excellent puzzles, ‘pinch out’ screens, same sounds etc. But, because it’s based on Leonard’s da Vinci’s inventions (which are fascinating and educational) and a plausible story of his need to hide, it makes more sense than the plot of The Room. However, it's very obvious that the game is heavily inspired by and in many was similar to The Room games. Since I like The Room games very much, I also like House of DaVinci. There is overlap for sure but a) there’s only so many things you can do on a puzzle adventure with a touch screen and b) they devs clearly went out of the way to put a new spin on just about everything so it honestly feels as similar to The Room as Call of Duty feels similar to any other FPS game. That said...you’ll like this more if you play it before the The Room. It’s a good game but lacks a certain something that The Room has in droves. I honestly think most of the reviews above 4 are those who haven’t played the room series. I have a 4 because I want to be fair playing the room first. It’s doesn’t match up though. The room has a natural progression you can solve without the clues if you think and analyze, which this doesn’t have. You have to muddle around with no natural progression to additional events and activities. The coloring doesn’t allow your eye to catch the clues investigate…it’s hard to differentiate anything and therefore you spend a lot of time wasted searching in vain. The clues once given aren’t intuitive, you literally don’t see the connection until the last clue very often. It is NOT a bad game at all but it is 100% a level below the room series. It will take a lot to get me to pay for the second in the series knowing I will be frustrated and lost unnecessarily. I've had to apply some persistent tapping to make things work, and I've had to engage and disengage the oculus a number of times in close succession before it would work. ✓ An inferior version of the roomIt’s pretty good, the graphics are great and the game is challenging. They basically copied “the room” game mechanics, along with the eye piece, puzzle style and hint system. Although it’s a quality game, playing it came with some frustration. In many instances the objects you can interact with are not responsive enough and will only move/slide if you do it precisely from the angle they intended it to move. Some of the puzzles made very little sense to me and were not fun to solve. Also, I found the hint system to be pretty bad. It would often give you clues for thing that you’re already a head of, like you’re trying to solve some puzzle and the hint would say “have you noticed this puzzle?”. Sometimes the hint would say “maybe I should use this item in my inventory but where?” Not helpful. Also the hints would try to forward you to a certain location with an obscure description of it. For example, it would say “there was a protrusion near the golden decoration that might be movable” and I’m googling protrusion and can’t find any golden decoration on the screen. Lastly, the eye piece only works if you look at the exact spot, meaning you can’t just scan the room with it. To sum up, if you haven’t played the room games, buy them! The only reason I didn’t give this game a 5 star rating is due to the game mechanics. I found on multiple occasions the mechanics weren’t always sensitive to the touch or swipes in order to solve a puzzle. In addition I found that once I had exhausted all options and had no choice but to use a hint, the object I was trying to zoom into or swipe or tap to open would work. ✓ Beautiful, puzzling and satisfyingThe Room is one of the most intriguing and beautiful 3D puzzle games available but after completing it and it’s two sequels I was left bereft, unable to find anything comparable...until now! The House of Da Vinci more than adequately fills the huge space previously occupied by The Room. You are immersed in a beautiful 3D world with puzzle boxes, crystals, books and lights posing conundrums that you solve through manipulation of the objects and the help of a magic lens that alters the light in the various areas of focus. So realistic are the animated objects and environments that it almost feels like you are handling actual artefacts. Simply put, you have to use a combination of observation and calculation to solve puzzles that move the game forward. A game to satisfy intellect and aesthetics in equal measure! ✓ Rich and interestingI enjoyed this game a lot. The puzzles weren't too hard for my poor old brain and, in the main, were logical (ok, I did cheat once or twice with a walkthrough but that is more a reflection on me rather than the game). When I first started playing, I felt that it was a copy of the style of the three The Room games, including the use of an ocular. By the time I reached the end, I still see that similarity but I think it is very much its own game, especially in its more expansive range of places and things with which to interact. I rate it highly on its own merits. If I had any quibble, it would be that one or two of the controls were a bit fiddly to operate. Also, and this is a criticism of most of this type of game including The Room series, I find that I often have to crank the iPad's screen brightness up to maximum if I was playing in a daylight lit room. I understand the desire to create the right atmosphere but my eyes are no longer quite up to the task. ✓ Great game, you need your wits about youI really liked this though a couple of the puzzles I had real trouble with: in chapter six with the calculator I had no clue what the numbers should be so relied on the walkthrough to complete that. I thought counting the shapes in the microscope at first but there were ten pyramids? And in chapter five with the planets, I had a long struggle getting the blue circle to stay green for the fire as I really wasn't sure what I was doing! ✓ The roomI'm just going to say it. This game is very very similar to the room and directly takes puzzles, mechanics and UI from it. With that out of the way, the game is excellent! and does justice to the genre. Do I want more games like The room series, Yes! But only if they can maintain the standard that has been set and Davinci does this very much so. It feels polished and atmospheric. The puzzles are tight and a mixture between challenging and intuitive. This format of game has been around since point and click. Most memorable with Myst in 1993. If you like Escape The Room type puzzle games then get this, you will not be dissapointed. Challenging and satisfying puzzles galore! I found no bugs or technical glitches. The game was beautiful, both art wise, sound wise and mechanics wise. The only thing I would like to pont out is that the end number and symbol puzzle was a little confusing regarding the symbols. ✓ You’d almost think you were in the room...Loved this game. The imagery and imagination were equally wonderful. I found the game progressively more challenging but never impossible. The similarities to The Room are numerous, but to me that’s a good thing. ✓ Spectacular, what more can I say?I am a huge fan of both The Room Series by Fireproof Games, and the Forever Lost series by Glitch Games. One thing I have wished for for years now is a new game that can equal the experience of an immersive environment with a plot, genuinely intriguing puzzles, beautiful graphics, and some atmosphere. Well, here it is. Worth every single cent. So far I've spent about three hours getting deeper in to it and it's amazing. ✓ Great game buts needs a little more QAMany reviews here compare this game to The Room series. The similarities are certainly there, and if you enjoyed The Room, you likely enjoy this game too. That said, it’s lacking the same level of plush, and there are a few flaws in the game that I think should have been caught with more QA. The eyepiece works when it feels like it... I got stuck in a few places because the eyepiece wasn’t showing things when it should have. A second or third try revealed the details. This happened on almost all puzzles that required the eyepiece to solve. The other problem is that there are a couple of puzzles the require you to slide an item over a bunch of tiles and if you don’t have the sliding mechanism lined up to the exact pixel at a junction it was tedious to get it to go where I wanted to even though I could visualize how to solve the puzzle. Otherwise the difficulty between this game and The Room is about the same, although I found it a bit harder to figure out what to do with certain items, and needed to rely more on the hint system to direct me where to look at times. That said, the puzzles themselves do not require an IQ of 300 to solve. Just about the right level of challenge and reward. I played this game on an iPhone XR, so while not the latest model, recent enough where it should have been an integral part of QA testing.
