Logitech POP for Negative User Reviews

Bizarre it shows but doesn’t control LIFX brightnessThe physical button is handy and works well. But running under iOS 12 although the app gives an indicator line displaying the set brightness, it has no slider to change it, even though the same app when installed under an earlier version of iOS (in my case v9 on a very old iPad) has a prominent slider that works. Very strange, very frustrating, very puzzling given Logitech’s usual excellence..Version: 1.6

Return the product and help yourselfSo I spend 79£ for the Logitech pop and for make it work you need this app. The problem is the app is keeping crushing so is impossible to use the buttons!!! It crushed on my iPhone XS Max on my girlfriend’s iPhone XR on my iPad Pro....everywhere!! The problem is not my devices but this useless app! Tried to get assistance....worse than the app! Impossible found help! I choose this product because I have already few Logitech circle 2 cameras, but I knew this happen I never brought the cameras or the buttons. I believe I will never ever buy anything else from Logitech!!!.Version: 1.6

Can’t connect to bridge or popJust received this thing and nothing works. Cannot find the bridge, had to add it through the home app, but now I am unable to find the pop. What a useless thing..Version: 1.5.2

Not updated for iOS 13App crashes constantly on iOS 13. Unusable. Works on iOS 12 with my old phone still or my numerous poppers would be completely useless :( Last update was a year ago..Version: 1.6

Desperately needs an updateCan’t change the brightness, only the temperature..Version: 1.6

Can’t believe how bad it isThis app is as complicated as it could have been. I thought it would be a good experience but now I think I’m just returning this button.Version: 1.6

Abandoned supportIOS12 has been out for over 6 months and the App still doesn’t work properly with Lifx. You may think “big deal. I don’t use Lifx”. But it shows they are asleep at the wheel. Your home automation device may be the next to break. Avoid this abandoned platform..Version: 1.6

No development of app anymoreSooo, this app has been broken for a long time now and it is no longer possible to set the brightness of LIFX lights with this product. Not impressed!!! Looks like there is no choice but to dump Logitech and go with a more reliable brand..Version: 1.6

Not fully supported in iOS 12I unable to control brightness settings for my LIFX light strip after upgrading to iOS 12.Version: 1.6

ObsoleteWelp. 1.6 No longer connects to a Lutron hub. So the whole POP system is headed for the trash. Shame, because it worked well with systems from multiple vendors for a while. Getting rather tired of home connectivity devices that get abandoned after a couple of years..Version: 1.6

Since iOS 14 can’t add buttonsAnd I have allowed Bluetooth and network access for the app Come on Logitech update to work please.Version: 1.6

BadCrap app lots of bugs not resolved Shame.Version: 1.6

No iOS 13 support.Great product. Horrible app. Just as others complained... No brightness support for iOS 13. This is absolutely not acceptable. It has been a year since the last update. What excuse could they possibly have?.Version: 1.6

Non-functionalUntil the brightness control for lighting is updated for LIFX lights (and I’m assuming others), the 2 pop switches that I’ve purchased are effectively rendered useless. Don’t buy this product unless you only like your lights at 50% all the time....Version: 1.6

Suddenly stopped workingThe app suddenly stopped working with an alert on launch that it can’t connect to the server..Version: 1.7

Siri Harmony HubThis button works with harmony hub, compatible with homekit, but I can not use Siri to turn my TV on / off. Disappointed..Version: 1.5.2

Can’t control LIFX brightnessJust got this thing to give my LIFX bulbs a physical switch. But surprise surprise the app hasn’t been updated in 7 months and doesn’t support brightness adjustments. 100% not worth $50 since it doesn’t appear that Logitech cares enough to update the app to keep pace with the fast changing world of technology..Version: 1.6

Does not workBrightness control for smart bulbs no longer works in iOS 12. Logitech don’t seem bothered, I’ve contacted them numerous times....Version: 1.6

Last update... 7 months ago! This is a horrendous way to leave your customers. I know don’t have the ability to adjust the dimmer through the app as it hasn’t been update to support the newest iOS. Please update this!.Version: 1.6

App still needs a lot of workThis app was working before the last update; now brightness on bulbs like LIFX are defaulted to brightness to 50%, instead of adjustable. This is a known issue within the Pop community, but no update or communication about fix. Will adjust rating once update happens.Version: 1.6

Work in progress - still no Sonos grouping. This update says they added Sonos grouping, but it is either not there yet, or very hard to find. Also, they haven't added Hue groups and scenes yet, as most other home automations apps have done in recent months with new Hue firmware. Great product idea, but I don't have a feeling Logitech is putting much effort into this product. Not very reliable yet..Version: 1.1

Can't change brightnessBrightness control is gone, severely degrading usefulness of app. Please fix..Version: 1.6

Abyss of hopeBuyer beware!! Not updated for new OS’s, for new screen sizes, for new features from the lighting manufacturers, for support on their own site, for anything HomeKit related. If you enjoy punishment and get it to work for its limited capabilities, then congrats. If they ever do put out an update, it won’t be anywhere near enough to make up for the embarrassing neglect they’ve done so far. Shame on Logitech Shame on me for buying the product Shame on you if you read these reviews and still buy the product Buyer warned..Version: 1.6

Great switches ... home automation without a phoneLove these little devices. Home automation without using lots of smartphone apps. Love just using the switch instead of pulling out my phone ... so much faster! Could do with some bug fixes (my Lifx brightness does not work anymore)..Version: 1.6

Logitech has abandoned this app and its usersAfter investing around $500 in Logitech pop buttons and incorporating them into my home - I was shocked to find that Logitech’s integration with LIFX bulbs is now broken and they have not made any attempt to fix it. It is simply not possible to adjust brightness of LIFX bulbs anymore with this app. I have waited for them to resolve it for multiple versions of IOS and I am now about to replace all of my switch infrastructure with Flic buttons. I will remember this as I gradually replace my peripherals and speakers over time (with products from companies that care more about their customers)..Version: 1.6

Broken since iOS12Can't set brightness on Lifx bulbs since iOS12.Version: 1.6

Good idea, terrible executionThis product is a good idea but the execution is terrible. The app is not intuitive and doesn't work well. Horrible still after over a year of ownership. Seems like a dead end product..Version: 1.5.2

Total neglectThis was an ok app to support an otherwise good product, but failure to keep the app updated for eons at this point renders the product and app useless. Shame on Logitech. Read forums online for details while you look for alternatives..Version: 1.6

Amazing product, horrible app (use HomeKit)First off, I want to say this is an amazing product overall - the rating I gave is directly tethered to the app itself. Not the hardware or experience when you get it working. The app will NOT let you convert your device to HomeKit - despite it having the feature to do so. The app is horribly laid out, and very confusing. Even more so when you compare to the simplicity of the Apple HomeKit interface. If you add the device with this app first but intend to use HomeKit, prepare to lose at least 20 minutes, as you will need to perform a factory reset on the bridge & button(s) to set it back up in HomeKit. Lastly, if you add directly through HomeKit while on your 2.4GHz band of your network - it will be painless and work perfectly. I cannot stress enough how great the end result is - you get to control any HomeKit device by the touch of a button. You can add as many as you like as well, just be sure not to use this app - use HomeKit and if you add a button, simply tap the Birdge’s button and then your add-on button and it will automatically appear in the Apple Home app. Great product - horrible app..Version: 1.6

Brightness control with Pop switchWhen I turn off a LIFX bulb from full brightness and turn it back on, it only turns on the bulb to half brightness? Please help, this is really frustrating..Version: 1.6

App instantly crashesI haven’t been able to use this app for months because it keeps instantly crashing. The home app says I need to update the firmware on it but because the app crashes I’m not able to do it. This is very frustrating..Version: 1.6

Urgently needs updateThis used to be a great product and app but seriously needs updating as major functionality missing, Please please update, restore ability to adjust brightness on hue...add new software like Nanoleaf... Thanks.Version: 1.6

No recent updatesHas not been updated for about a year so far (May 2019)..Version: 1.6

Sonos Support LackingLogitech finally released their Sonos documentation on the support site and it turns out that you can't use this app to create Sonos groups, but rather only control one speaker. This is worthless for my current use and now I have $150 worth of useless equipment. I wouldn't recommend the POP system and software if being used for controlling Sonos..Version: 1.0.1

The brightness control is missing in ios 12The brightness control for lights that appears when you configure any smart bulbs is missing in iOS 12. Its working in iOS 11. Please fix.Version: 1.6

OK…when it occasionally worksWhen it works, it works well. But if you ever want to add a device then problems start. It can’t find new Hue devices when searching so I removed Hue to re-add, and now it can’t find anything at all. I’ve factory reset many times but still nothing. Logitech support are hopeless. When I tried calling they couldn’t understand that there is such a thing as a Pop button, they thought I meant a keyboard or mouse. Nearly 2 weeks later and every few days I get an email from their support that is no use. One told me how to connect Pop to Siri, and another just copied/pasted from their website on how to factory reset. I have 8 buttons, which are quite expensive, and are now useless. I’ve tried deleting and re-adding the app and now that doesn’t even go to log in screen. Avoid!!.Version: 1.7

Outdated app. No brightness control for LIFX bulbsIt's been seven months since last update guys. People are asking about the brightness slide that disappeared on reddit, on your forum, here. Did you give up on this app?!.Version: 1.6

RubbishYou pay quite a lot for the hardware and the app to control it is rubbish. Not been updated for several years. Brightness controls are nonexistent and worse, whatever you set your light to, this app will reset it to 50% every time..Version: 1.6

No updates in a yearMy pop button is not working with HomeKit. It worked for a while now it seems to have stopped. I reset the pop bridge but it still does not work. Why has this app not been updated in over a year. Poor support..Version: 1.6

No brightness controlPlease add brightness control for the up to date iOS..Version: 1.6

Crashes in iOS 12Used to work great but the app crashes in iOS 12. Please fix!.Version: 1.6

App no longer supportedThis app is no longer compatible with new version of iOS and Logitech doesn’t support it with updates for over a year. Don’t buy hardware from Logitech, you will have hundreds of dollars of paperweights after they take your money and run..Version: 1.6

Non stop crashingThe app crashes immediately after launch. Tried deleting and installing again and went through a few screens before the crashing started again..Version: 1.6

Worst HomeKit experience yetOne of the worst apps and products to get to work with HomeKit. Instructions in the app are vague/ non-existent and online help documents are just as useless. The app is unintuitive and you can never find the same thing twice. Scrap this app and start again with something that works!.Version: 1.6

Needs an update!Great hardware and a neat app, but needs an iOS 12 update to make the brightness function for LIFX bulbs work again..Version: 1.6

Avoid LogitechThis is your regular reminder that you shouldn’t invest in Logitech. Product catalog = Abandoned tech..Version: 1.6

Can’t login with facebook, and can’t change the login methodOK so now I’m stuck can’t get back into the app and of course there’s no support available just useless forums..Version: 1.6

Frustrating and unreliable. The hardware is good but it’s extremely difficult to troubleshoot and in my experience is generally unreliable. The app still isn’t optimized for the iPhone X..Version: 1.6

Did work with HomeKit but no longer :(I had to reset my WiFi password and the Logitech Pop stopped working; I reset the device to use my new WiFi password but it no longer worked, after multiple resets it looks like HomeKit is no longer supported. I will gift this button to someone or put it on Kijiji.Version: 1.6

Crashes when logging inThis app crashes when I attempt to log in..Version: 1.6

Limited functionalityWorks well... but why can’t you control Lutron Caseta scenes?! I have my whole house set up with lutron scenes and I purchased this so I can turn on and off scenes. Now I have to individually re create them all in this app. Pointless and frustrating.Version: 1.5.1

Lost all my settings again! The app seems to lose my settings every couple of months, now I have to set up everything. The app asks me to log in, then everything breaks. There's no backup And no I'm not emailing your tech department, that's why you have QA.Version: 1.5.1

Complete garageApp keeps crashing when trying to launch. I can’t tell you how many people have searched on Reddit to try and find a solution, and not one person from Logitech cares. Don’t believe me? Google search logi pop app keeps crashing and see what “pops” up..Version: 1.7

They are awesome when they workHave been using these buttons in HomeKit to control a Phillips hue go and two elgato eve’s for about 6 months. The buttons are great and work well except the hub disconnects from wifi about every 3-4 weeks. It is then a full factory reset and re-setup to get everything working again. The Logitech pop app and support guides are terrible. They are incredibly simple but lots of things just don’t work. Logitech are you still updating this app and firmware because there is a lot of flaws for fairly expensive hardware..Version: 1.5.2

Can’t even connectManaged to pair the hub however it just won’t connect to the WiFi. Tried resetting it several times and now given up..Version: 1.6

Needs to be updated l!Can’t adjust anything related to brightness since I got the iPhone X and even worse since iOS 12..Version: 1.6

Please helpMy devices stopped working today with iOS 16.2 HomeKit upgrade! Any update planned or help here would be greatly appreciated Edit: removing bridge and re-adding resolved issue!.Version: 1.7

Always need to reset after update!Every time this app updates, I need to reset all of my POP switches. The update logs me out, I need to re-login, and then nothing works! This is getting very annoying!.Version: 1.5

Can’t log inCannot log in on iPhone 11.Version: 1.6

Update the app please... crashes every timeNeeds at least latest screen size and the app really could use an overhaul. Edit: crashes every time I try to login and HomeKit is telling me there are updates for my buttons but can’t login to update. Is this dead?.Version: 1.6

App crashes with IOS 12After upgrading to iOS 12, the app just crashes upon opening. (I have even deleted and reinstalled. And tried on iPhone 7 Plus as well as XS with the same outcomes.) This means that whatever configuration you have your buttons set to, they’ll continue to work but cannot be changed after upgrading to iOS 12..Version: 1.6

Very poor appApp is very basic and poorly supported. Surely Logitech can do better than that!!.Version: 1.6

Busted for LifxI had to set up the app on a new device but scanning for Lifx now gives me nothing. These expensive buttons are now absolutely worthless. Thanks folks..Version: 1.7

Initial setup is painfulApp only supports iOS 9 and up, and is not supported for iPad. Major hassle forcing me to update my iPhone. Device should have an auto configuration or a desktop version..Version: 1.0.2

Forgets everythingResets needed every few days because buttons stop working. Major let down for something so simple.Version: 1.4

App crashes immediatelyCan’t get past either “log in” or “set up” on iOS 13.2. Crashes instantly. How am I supposed to apply the update that HomeKit says is available?.Version: 1.6

No Longer Control BrightnessThis app has not been updated for iOS 12. Since updating to iOS 12 you can no longer adjust the brightness setting of my LIFX bulbs. There should be a brightness slider at the top of each bulbs settings but it’s now gone. Please update the app..Version: 1.6

No updates in a year? Pathetic. Will never buy a Logitech product again..Version: 1.6

Time to move on?I tried to make adjustments for the first time in a long time and also discovered the absence of a working brightness control for LIFX bulbs. Lucky I had an old iPad mini running IOS 9.3 to complete my changes. No updates in 7 months is alarming and suggests they may no longer develop this. Another waste of money it seems in the pursuit of an automated home. The FLIC hub and buttons have proven to be rock solid now, so looks like it’s time to go POP!.Version: 1.6

Fix softwareIt’s 2018 and the iPhone X has been out for over a year now. Can you optimize the UI of the app to fit the whole screen..Version: 1.6

Not working with LIFX or HomeKitThe buttons were working fine for a while with LIFX lights, and all the sudden it stopped working, I tried everything, factory reset on buttons and the bridge, and nothing. After resetting everything I can't even get it to work with IFTTT. I was also never able to get it to work with HomeKit since the beginning, but that wasn't a big deal for me. Also the app is not intuitive at all, it took me a long time to figure out something as simple as deleting buttons, devices, etc. and there is no interaction feedback, you're never sure if you pressed a button or not. UPDATE: It has been 40 days since I posted this review and still LIFX, WeMo and HomeKit are NOT WORKING, this is not right, please fix it..Version: 1.4
