✓ InvadeThey ruined this game back,I guess it was, around Christmas 2019 with the ridiculous invade update. The game was, at one point, interesting and complex. Strategy was the name of the game as a vast variety of decks were being deployed and mastered by intelligent inventive players. Since the update all that you encounter is invade decks. Now I’m in no way complaining as I, remain Legendary every month and, dispatch these thoughtless skill less players with ease but its boring and monotonous to do so. The depth of this game should be taken advantage of by all players but I ask to much of mindless zombies. Every month I finish Legend and it is with a different deck I use and tweak the entire month. My mind could not take doing the same thing every match as the invaders do. I still have yet to complete the invade daily quest and it can not be replaced so I only get 2 a day lol. Furthermore I soul trapped all invade cards and continue to do so every time I get one. Game is great when you run into a fresh take on a deck but to see red, white, blue every other match is very disheartening..Version: 2.17.0
✓ Pay to win and stale meta.So me and my group of friends played this for 3 months to give it a fair go. We all found the same thing. While packs/gold are given out for completing actions etc strangely enough you never get any of the meta epic or legends in them. Surprisingly if you spend money on the packs you do. Also the meta is utterly stale and you will struggle to climb the ladder unless your playing one of “the decks” these decks have a combination of the hardest cards to get. Also a lot of the players have been playing since the beginning and have all the cards so turn after turn they drop the epics and legend cards and beat you. In short great idea but utterly frustrating unless you want to spend money to catch up or play one of the few meta decks. It’s a shame as elder scrolls games are about trying new things in game, this card game is the very opposite of that philosophy..Version: 1.2.4
✓ HorribleThis game is depressingly embarrassing compared to the rest of elder scrolls. This game is comparable to fallout 76 which was also horrible hot garbo. Dont even waste your time with the disappointment. Lets hope bethesda makes good games again one day, if only money was such a lust in such a society with poverty and greed mixed in. ✓ Used to be amazingWhen I first downloaded this game a few months back it was amazing. The art, the animations and the online multiplayer. I got to a point where I logged in at least once every day for the benefits. Now after this upgrade (which took 3 days to get running) the new art and extra time consuming animations and the INABILITY to re-enter a match you were disconnected from is what made me uninstall. The new design makes it look like a free2PAY mobile game. You had it right the first time, what happened? Everything is bubbly and thick outlines like they’ve abandoned their core audience and are only looking for young children who will spend their parents money. The change in the art is for this very purpose and why this game now looks like every other game on the market. You’ve really done an amazing job at ruining a once great product, and even if I could get this version to run properly on my barely used 6+ I still wouldn’t play. ✓ Worst New Client RantSince new client published, the game went downhill. Now I can’t even log on after new patch. UI is horrendous. Not a matter of just color palatte, but overall looking so cheap. ✓ May not run on older mobile devices as the old client did...I’m a longtime fan of ESL and have been playing it for quite some time now. Sadly, with the introduction of Sparkypants’ new client, ESL no longer runs seamlessly on my phone like it used to before the client switchover, quite the opposite actually. This 2-Star review is specifically for the mobile app version, as I’m still a fan of the game. I’m using an iPhone 6 Plus, which I do understand is dated for today’s industry standards, since the majority swap out their phones yearly or every other year (I’ll be replacing this one soon, but I fail to see the need to switch phones as often as most do). My phone now severely struggles to run the game client, and the lag makes it near unplayable unfortunately. This wouldn’t irk me much, as an understand the limitations of the older technology (I work in IT), but for the fact that it worked so well before the client was rewritten. It seems that the new client has a much heavier footprint in terms of what it demands of local system resources and GPU processing. I still play ESL on PC from them to time, but I loved the portability of being able to play it on mobile when I was out and had downtime to kill. It saddens me that Sparkpants disregarded support of semi-older mobile devices when they rewrote this game..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Won’t updateI used to love this game but now I can’t play it on my iPhone 6S. The last big update downloaded okay, but they then released a smaller 600mb update and that won’t download. Set it to download over night and woke up to it having given me an “inactivity error” from the app. While it was meant to be downloading a flipping update!!.Version: 1.2.7
✓ Cheating computerThis is a very addictive game and rightfully so, very user friendly and easy to learn. Having said that, I’ve noticed that sometimes (usually when on a good winning streak) the opponent computer played deck will ignore some of the rules that were put forth at the beginning of the game, such as playing cards even though all of the mana is spent, having more than the max number of any one card in the deck, or having one or more creatures attacking more than once in an attack phase, all of which with no card effect or anything else giving those cheat-like abilities an explanation. Those are the only things I’ve seen happen and it’s not all the time, but I would really appreciate it if that could be fixed because I really like Bethesda as a company all together and letting these small things through make me lose some faith in them, so please fix, thanks!.Version: 2.5.2

✓ Piece of crapCan’t even get past the loading screen on iPhone XS - when it gives me the option, sorry IF it gives me the option to download the minimum to play or everything I then stare at a screen that says 0/186 downloaded for a loooong time. If I give up and return to it in about an hour occasionally 1 - 3 of these 186 gets downloaded. Also what is that yellow loading bar that literally relates to nothing. If it’s not doing anything animating a line that looks like it’s loading over and over and over again is such a lame and annoying thing to have to see as someone waiting to interact. ✓ Great until they updatedI have loved the Elder Scrolls for years. I have played on multiple platforms and thought this game would be a welcome addition for times I travel and am away from home. But it seems not. Had some trouble downloading the data first time around but got it working. Then they update and again the same issues however this time it didn’t work. Did some research and it happens that this issue isn’t new or even uncommon. Pity cos it could be good but with no reply to my ticket and enquiry I am now forced to deduce that just so long as it mostly works that’s fine. ✓ Terrible from the startI didn’t even download the whole game before uninstalling. The app requires an unknown size download once it actually launches with a bit over 1000 files to download, which wouldn’t be a problem, however you can’t leave the app or there is a “problem downloading files”, forcing you to leave your phone useless downloading the game for 20mins-2 hours depending on Internet. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿.Version: 1.2.8
✓ TerribleI cannot quite find the words to tell you just how bad this game is. As you are aware, you have to play different cards to win however, the ‘random’ cards you get are useless. The AI cards are ALWAYS higher and better meaning you will almost certainly lose most battles. There are also other events you can take part in to win more cards but surprise surprise, you will not win a single battle!! Quite simply this is the worst game to date bought out by anyone. ✓ Amazing game butThe game is amazing it honestly one of my favourites but it won’t stop freezing for 10 seconds when I try to play a card it’s saying bad connection but I have good internet and have 3 bars it’s really annoying because every move you want to make takes 10 seconds you have to wait 10 seconds in a frozen screen just to put a card down and later in the game it gets worse because more magica builds up and you can put more cards down but u still have to wait 10 seconds. When I say 10 seconds it sounds small but it really isn’t if you don’t believe me count to 10 before u close and open an app and then think about a game freezing for 10 seconds if it’s a shooter your probably dead although the freezing don’t effect much in gameplay in legends but it really annoying.Version: 2.12.1

✓ Devs need to learn bs isn't difficultyI love card games but I always hate computer card games because the developers think bs is difficulty. Sorry but bs is bs spend more time on the ai and less time on the graphics that no one is impressed by after the first time. The solo match is one of the best parts of the game but to make up for bad ai. They use bs. So your gonna beat the computer. Oh well I just too decked the three cards I need to stop you. Does it happen in real life yes. Does it happen as much as when your playing this game. Not even close. Oh your winning too much. Then your gonna get every high cost card you can cast and put up against a speed deck. If you can put up with this maybe it'll be fun for you. I on the other hand don't believe bs is a win sorry devs. Also in the regular match same thing happens you are getting close to leveling or you won too many times in a row. Guess what massive fail for your deck. Also too many broken cards that you can only buy. So you get demolished by them speed deck. 2 for a 4/4 whatever. ✓ Great game, requires good WiFiI picked up this game on my phone to play casually, and I really enjoyed the single player campaign and deck building. I found it tough but fair, a good difficulty balance. The only problem I have, and this problem is enough for me to only give 3 stars, is that the game requires a constant internet connection. My WiFi is kinda spotty so depending on where I am in my house I will just get kicked out every 2 minutes to every 30 minutes. Is this really necessary? It gets really annoying when I am trying to craft a deck... get about half way through then a disconnect error forces me to start over again and again. Is a constant connection needed during deck building or single player games? Anyway if your internet is better then my potato internet you should try this out it is a lot of fun..Version: 1.2.4
✓ Not the best.I don’t review games that often, but this is one. This game does have its beauty, its charm, its quirks, but it also has a MASSIVE learning curve. The story is incredibly difficult, with the AI absolutely destroying you with board clears and instant kills. The mana ring mechanic is heavily biased towards the 2nd player’s turns due to the amount of times you can use it, and the multiple lanes (while an interesting mechanic) are too annoying and obstructive. As a full-on rating, I would have it as the following: Gameplay - 8/10 (Good, being similar to other card games like Gwent and Hearthstone) Graphics - 8/10 (More detailed and lore filled cards than other games) Difficulty - 4/10 (Better explanations/tutorials would be strongly advised to teach others better, and the storyline AI is too overpowered) Not the best card game out there, but not the worst. ✓ Great game with a hugely annoying disconnect featureLoving the game at the moment, prefer Gwent but getting into this the more I play it. However, there is one thing which is painfully annoying. Whenever you’re in a game and you lose connection to the internet - whether it’s through changing SSID in my house when I’m walking about, losing WiFi and going onto 4G or just having to lock my phone for 2 mins before coming back to a game - it will come up with an alert and it will start the app again and reload it and take me back to the main menu. This has happened numerous times to me and it’s getting very aggravating, I’m really starting to lose patience after spending 5 - 10 mins in a game to restart the whole thing. The other con with the game is a bit more subjective and that’s the animations. While they look great, they make each move just that small bit longer to take/ watch and after awhile it must make up a pretty decent amount of time for the overall game, even if it’s not that long for each move. I also suspect this might be the cause of my battery getting hammered every time I play this game. It seems to take almost 1% a minute and that’s with almost everything battery intensive turned off in the settings with a new iPhone 7 Plus that I got. Overall, the game is great but please fix the disconnect issues. It’s driving me crazy!!!.Version: 1.1.6
✓ Too frustratingAs a new player, trying to figure out how to navigate this game when doing something like setting up a new deck, is just too frustrating. I deleted the app. When trying to set up the deck for the first time, all these pop up instructions come up and you can’t get rid of them or figure out how to set up your deck. I ended up accidentally deleting a deck and not even having enough cards to play with because I was trying to get the pop up instruction to move so that I could edit my deck and nothing on the page was working right. In fact, I couldn’t move the pop up instruction, it was in the way of reading some of the cards. I couldn’t figure out how to look at all of the cards because there was no way to flip through them so that I could choose the ones I wanted. If there was an over arrow to do this, I couldn’t get to it because of the pop up instruction. Game designers need to have a better idea for levels of frustration for new players when trying to set up or navigate the set up for the game and no new player should be able to delete their deck so they can’t play by accident in a way that they can’t be recovered. Some people pay for these decks. There should always be a way to recover them. I am just not going to play. It isn’t worth the headache..Version: 1.4
✓ UpdateFirst ever review... It used to be 5 star game now I barely can give it 2. ( Its actually 1 but because I really liked the game I’m giving it 2) New update isn’t sparky, it’s more pants I would say. The cards aren’t as good graphically as they were before the update. The game board looks like a table from a pub down the road... what was wrong with the old sketches of dragons or trees and so on..? Gameplay isn’t as smooth as before update and after releasing the the most recent update I couldn’t even start the game... it loaded onto a game table and then just kept loading then finally it took me back to the main screen... Couldn’t play the game basically. I was really enjoying Elder Scrolls Legends but unfortunately I deleted it and it’s back to Hearthstone. ✓ Back to Beta...This was a great game, it had a simple yet effective U.I to it that worked great on both desktop and mobile devices. As of yet with the new new developer it feels like they have completely misjudged the audience, the new home screen is confusing and feels more like a space fantasy, the purple colour scheme feels more at home with a game like Starcraft. And a hell of a lot of new bugs....I don’t think sparkypants have ruined the game, they clearly have released the major update to early and now just need to improve u,i and listen to the user base of its millions of players..Version: 1.2.6
✓ New ClientWhy did you change the interface? The older one looked so much better in so many ways. It looked a lot simpler but was still visually impressive, the buttons were big so I could actually see what I was pressing on my iphone se, gameplay was incredibly snappy, when I press and hold a card it zoomed in so I could actually read it, the board was brighter and simpler so everything was easy to identify, and the animations were smooth. The new client is not smoother, animations are awkward and clunky, the board looks “too” fancy, everything looks more complicated, I can’t read the card descriptions cuz it’s so freaking small and I can’t zoom in, buttons got smaller, there’s so much lag now, lots of bugs and glitches, gameplay is a LOT slower because the animations are so long now. Before, I could play the cards quickly, but now I have to wait for a card’s clunky animation to finish in order to play the next card. The only good thing about the new client is that things are a lot snappier when viewing my collection. Other than that, this was a horrible update. Please change all asthetics back to the original. The mechanics for shuffling and drawing cards is a piece of junk. At the start of every game you get to chance to throw back and redraw any or all of the the starting cards and I’ve literally watched myself redraw all of the same ones after choosing to redraw all three. It doesn’t seem to actually shuffle any decks before a fight. Some fights I get the same card almost back to back. Most pvp games feel like the someone’s deck was stack to make sure they one. Sometimes this is you and sometimes this is your opponent. They say you can only have 3 of one card in each deck but I’ve watched the computer and other players draw a card 4 or more times without playing some type of spell card to draw from the graveyard. The story lines themselves are good but all the computer fights have their decks stacked perfectly. I regret ever downloading this game and I’m just thankful I didn’t spend money on it. ✓ Great game terrible connectionI’ve been forfeited many many times in the arena play that costs the scroll or 150 coin. The game will dashboard me back to my Home Screen and it will not let me back in to finish the matches until I’ve forfeited. I feel shorted. I’ve checked my storage settings and even deleted numerous items to better the situation. The most aggravating part is when I’m playing casually with friend it lets me back in the same game no turns missed anything. But when I use the scroll it doesn’t allow me to come back in, this is becoming a serious problem as more than half of my attempts at the arena have been forfeited predestined to me. Obviously connection issues will be the first problem solving step, so before you go there know that I have at&t fiber optic, 4g LTE iPhone, and every other pvp game or connection based multiplayer works with no interruptions except some piddly maintenance times. ✓ Amateurish updateSparkypants, sorry but anything but sparky about the new update, maybe a few sparks of anger coming from me. There was not that much wrong with the previous version. Should have just refined the old client. It would have been nice to have a few more targeted emotes/sub-emotes which allowed better interaction rather than the one line which doesn’t always fit. The new client text is mostly too small. When you buff a card in your hand it’s hard to tell without picking it which one has been buffed or cursed. Before it was quite clear. The cards in the table are also hard to read what they are or what has happened to them. Going through your decks are also hard to tell which you have selected, just a faint glow “Not clear enough”. Animations are poor. Winning a game when you “used” to get a tick it was smooth and you got some satisfaction, now the screen changes and it’s already ticked. Where was the quality control, testing, play the game a few times and it’s clear what it wrong. You said you designed it to be mobile friendly and have achieved the opposite! This is because although the gameplay still works after the update which reworked the entire game, the rewards don’t. Even the game rewards that I’m supposed to gain after each win are now mostly nonexistent. And there’s no consistency with this glitch. ✓ Broken gameThis used to be a great game. I used to play it every single day. For hours on end and into the night. After the Sparkpants update, many problems arose that I never had in the past. For one, you have to open the app after you “update” it from the AppStore, and let it “update” again? So, instead of the app completely updating in the background before, now you have to watch a loading screen for sometimes half an hour. And holy crap, if it gets interrupted for any reason whatsoever you have to start all over again. I guess hope no one tries to call you or text while you are doing it. Seems like a step into the past. The graphics are wonky now, they were fine before. Everything is jumpy and not fluid. I guess the only selling point for the upgrade is that it “takes up less space” on your phone now. But, if the lame backwards updates keep coming, it will end up taking zero space on my phone. ✓ Most unbalanced card game you’ll ever playLook I’m a fan of these types of game. But the idea of the game doesn’t make sense it doesn’t matter if you have more cards out or anything they can still hit you even if there people in the way and the only way to prevent that is you have a card that makes them have to attack that card and is the rarest thing to pull mid game and even if you do, if the opponent has more than one card out (which most likely does) on one lane it will die immediately and not to mention it is insanely expensive to place down these types of cards making it a waste, if your versing a bot they will never show you mercy especially if they go second so prepare to be absolutely overwhelmed with enemy cards and seeing your health bar go down a ridiculous amount. If your a masochist I say go for it and download it you’ll want to tear out your own hair by your third game out of pure frustration. The creators tried to make a magic the gathering like game and it’s almost there but I think the way to fix are the things they added to make it different the two lane systems doesn’t work and the cards are too unbalanced for you to have casual fun. ✓ RiggedFirst of all it is a great game except for a few things. The art is spectacular and the layout really addictive. But I just can’t help but feel like a lot of matches are rigged. For example, against the AI, only two or three rounds into it you get lucky and draw a high - power card with no other cards in play (you are set to do a lot of damage next turn when he is available to attack). Well it so happens that once it’s the opponent’s turn he so happens to draw a card that scraps yours immediately without you getting the chance to use your high-power card. It was the only one the opponent had in its deck and it so happens that he drew it then. This type of stuff happens in almost EVERY match against the AI. They just seem to have the card that counters yours. Kinda frustrating. Also, often you are set against opponents that you don’t stand a chance against. They have many of the cards you would have to pay to get and unless you pay you would not stand a chance. Of course, if you pay to get nice cards they would just match you against someone with even better cards so you still don’t stand a chance. This game would be great if card draws were really random and player matchups were more balanced. I unfortunately has to delete the game to stop myself from falling into the endless pay-to-win trap. ✓ Sad dayThis game was one of my favorite games to play on my 6+ . Ran so smooth and never had a single problem whatsoever. After their huge update, with no option to stay with the old system. You start losing left and right. I tested this theory and spent real life dollars into game. Once I did that I couldn’t lose, until I didn’t spent a single cent on the game. I also noticed when I built a beck, it did great for like 5-7 matches. For some reason the deck you build goes from winning to losing every match. Then you have to delete deck and start all over aging. Only to play this cycle over and over again, or unless you spend real money. The other flaw is if the other opponent name has guest in it your and if other player has a deck with 100 cards your going to lose. My personal opinion save your money and your time games rigged. ✓ Way too much of a grind.I like this game’s mechanics. It’s a pretty fun card game that requires strategy. However, it is a painfully slow process to get new cards. 6 cards cost 100 gold. You get 15 coins per level up and per every 3 victories. You also get a SINGLE card for each of those as well. And that card can be a repeat of something you already have. Story mode was a reliable method, but once you finish it (and the challenges) progress grinds to a slow trickle at best. You can buy more campaigns and challenges... but it cost 3000 coins for a full set (acts 1, 2, and 3 are 1000 each). Challenges are 1500 per set. Again you get money agonizingly slow in this game. There are daily quests too but the most I’ve gotten is 60 coins. Arenas are a solid option, BUT you need tickets to play them. The game gives you some, but you will run out leaving you going back to the slow grind. Now comes my biggest problem.... the micro transactions. Everything that is hard to unlock can be bought. Of course it can. And with how tedious it is to unlock these things in game, I can only conclude they WANT you to buy them. Not to mention that you can simply buy themed decks that have cards that would normally be difficult to get otherwise. They want your money. This is a fun game that has unfortunately been reduced to a greedy cash grab. I am very disappointed..Version: 2.15.1

✓ Good game but needs much simple work.For starters... The tabs on my main action screen are invisible. Other things such as scrolling through menus to the far end will have you restarting the game. This game takes far to long to load but I must say it loads good between screens. Gameplay is a monster for connectivity. If you have bad internet the you will have a bad time. Action graphics and voiceovers are rather stale during battle but is very unique in its battle system. I mostly like it but I've found it to be less dynamic and boring in the beginning as the game has you very limited repetitive in the struggle to get things going to your own custom flavorful notch. But it is there but they share very greedy on experience. I'll be more than glad to write more about the gam and give it a 5 star rating when they iron out the kinks that shouldn't have ever been an issue and are proof enough to me that the play tested it just enough so they could publish it and start having it make them money... Shame on them for that btw. But the gam is colorful and entertaining enough to keep my attention. I'm sure this game will progress into something that I'll like even more. ✓ How to ruin a good thingThis WAS an awesome game. This new version is so tedious and basic it really begs the question of why and was it worth it? The updates take a long time on your first try at the game, but also fail at the slightest excuse like the screen dimming, or a notification. Where there were different backgrounds in the old one we now have one background and bugs galore (which they are trying to fix).
