✓ Looks ok but...Maybe not a huge deal for some people, but it plays upside down. My iPad sits with the home button on the left, with my cover opening at the top. This game will not rotate to this orientation, and I must turn my iPad upside down to play. This can’t be rocket science to make work properly. I don’t have this issue with other apps..Version: 1.34
✓ Beautiful Game, but a bit RepetitiveIf you like gorgeously made puzzle games that aren't too hard, you'll enjoy this. The difficulty is on par with games like the The Room series with similar, but not quite as good of production values. It has some flaws. It's repetitive and the controls are occasionally frustrating. The controls are meant to be part of the mystery, but they're not hard to figure out. Once you do, most of the puzzles can be solved without too much effort. There were only a few spots that stumped me and a couple of them were because of a bug in the game that caused the level to be unfinishable. So there are a few bugs. If you find that you just can't seem to do anything meaningful after being stuck a while, it might not be you. It might be the game. As art, it's not without issue either. As an art game, I'd have expected more of a story. There really isn't one. You just run around a multilevel castle world of sorts with spooky sound effects playing and it's impressively rendered, but there isn't much more to it. This is just the first chapter so maybe we'll learn more about what the story is in future installments..Version: 1.1

✓ Not a casual puzzle gameWhile the art direction is superb, and the ambient equally stunning, I found much to dislike about the game’s core mechanic. At multiple points the character ran around a clearly open path as a blind rat would just because I was expected to ring bells and illuminate lights at precise moments. If you have the patience, and time, to learn its obtuse methods, you may find much to enjoy. If, however, you are looking for a casual experience the likes of “Gorogoa,” “The Room” series, or even “Lara Croft GO” / “Hitman GO,” stay clear of this game..Version: 1.34

✓ Please make this save properlyI was enjoying this game with its gorgeous graphics however it’s now reached the point when I can’t be bothered. When I leave the game (to live other parts of my life) it isn’t saving my progress. I’ve had to redo several parts, multiple times and it’s getting tedious. I would say I’m about 2/3 of the way through but not sure I’m going to bother trying to finish. ✓ Stops saving progressThe game stopped saving my progress after the guy jumps in the water and swims to the girl. Also, after it takes you back to their house and all the lights are messed up, the game just ends. After the guy goes back into their bedroom, absolutely nothing happens. ✓ Lovely and clever but tired of redoing unsaved levelsThe game looks great and the puzzles can be quite hard but after finishing a particularly hard one and resuming the next day the game took me back to it (and it had done this several times already). There are also one or two puzzles where you can become stuck but not know it and have to ‘reset scene’. Manoeuvring blocks later on in the game can be a nightmare especially when you have to do it quickly (and especially when having finally done it you have to do it again because the game didn’t save). ✓ Graphically stunning, but...... I do not like the game play mechanics. At first glance I thought this to be similar to Monument Valley in game play. After all, it seems to move and flow like MV, but its not. The character moves on his own, drawn towards the bell that you ring. While it is an interesting concept, and Im not basing my review on my erroneous interpretation of the game play, it is a frustrating game play. Things happen within the game mechanics that seem to have no reason for happening. As an example in an early level, the move seems to be run in a direction, and switch on the lights in a sequence to get to the other side. Instead, I missed a light, the guy fell off, he hobbled off to a pad of sorts, was regenerated (?), ran up the stairs and then out of the level. I felt that I wasnt playing a game, so much as I was watching the game play itself, which was my biggest contention. You ring bells, and the guy kinda runs towards it, and then you have to kind of lead him to the next point by ringing another bell. As I stated, an interesting idea, but not my style. I would have preferred a bit more playing of the game, rather than guessing what to tap..Version: 1.43

✓ DisappointedDefinitely gorgeous. Stunning artwork. It's not a puzzle game like some, and is sometimes annoying when the fellow wouldn't go where you want him to. But if you take it as it is, it's satisfying to figure out what order to do things in to finally get him where he needs to be. And it's beautiful ro just take your time and look at the scenery. However, I was really frustrated to get to the end and discover that it wasn't actually the end, but just stopped. Ch 2 seems to be nowhere in sight. I think I would have liked going back and replaying it, to see if I could get into places he bypassed the first time, but as it is, there doesn't seem much point in trying. I guess I should have paid more attention to that "Chapter 2 out in 2021" notice and realized that probably meant it isn't coming out and saved myself a few bucks. What it is is beautiful. ✓ Too difficult for 4 year oldsThe game states it’s recommended for ages 4 upwards which is misleading. Most levels are difficult for an adult, let alone a 4 year old kid. That being said, it’s one of my favourite games due to the dreamlike graphics - it’s like being in another world. ✓ Beautiful but fiddle-yThe unique style of play is definitely interesting, and there is a good variety in the kinds of puzzles thrown at you in this game. I would definitely recommend playing on iPad for the bigger screen and easier controls. However sometimes having to slide things into the *exact* position in some of the timed puzzles can be frustrating, as often you have fewer than 3 seconds to move a massive block through a tight corner, wait exactly 2 more seconds then quickly move it into the second spot. Not having the block in the exact spot meant the man (which you can’t directly control) will start heading in the wrong direction, stop, or slow down. After 20 minutes I checked a walkthrough only to find I was doing the right thing. Extending the time by a minuscule amount for the timed puzzles involving moving around of blocks could help compensate for this annoyance of getting a puzzle right but still not being able to continue on. The urgency from the timed puzzles is good, but I think it needs to be slightly more lenient for the sometimes awkward iPad controls. I did like the time I spent on this, however I don’t think I would have bought it had I known that the controls would inhibit my otherwise great puzzle session. This game’s music and art definitely sets a calming atmosphere, but spending a total of 30 minutes on one point (that you were doing correct all along) has unfortunately made this game lose its charm for me..Version: 1.34

From an online walkthrough I have seen that the key is supposed to turn, this opening the watch case. The music continues, but no amount of tapping can get the key to tournament. ✓ Beautiful, but repetitive and ultimately unchallengingLook, i am fairly new to puzzle games so I am unsure what to expect in terms of a challenge. Pavilion quickly became routine and I started to wonder when the game would end as I was tiring of rinse and repeat mechanics. When I got to the end and was informed there is another chapter I wasn’t filled with excitement, as I don’t see myself committing more time if it will be more of the same. ✓ Will keep you moving forward butWhile little context is given and much is left up to interpretation the world and music and visuals all tie together making you want to keep moving forward to the next scene, like a good book might. If you like games like Monument Valley think of this as a similar experience with a bigger focus on visuals and wonder instead of user experience of mechanics. I never got stuck, but I can see where others might. Some later puzzles I ran into glitches forcing restart. Namely Stuck on ladder after moving block and a block getting stuck moving in one direction despite not touching screen. All in all it's good. But... it gets you to the part where you want more but the game ends with a Chapter 1 End, chapter 2 coming. The exact moment this occurs killed much of the build up the game was growing and instead of desiring to share what's going on with others, I'm left with just saying "really?" And with no sign of a Chapter 2, I feel a little cheated on paying for this app (recommended by the App Store too). The frustrating part is as you progress though the game the continue button is at the top left (when you stop playing and continue later). All of the sudden the continue button is replaced by New game. By the continue button being there every time you started playing the game you push it without thinking. It’s really satisfying. Unfortunately, I’m not always able to figure it out. In this game, there’s no way to clues. A new mechanic has been introduced in the level I’m up to and I have no idea how to figure it out. With no option for a clue and after trying multiple options over several days, I’m left with no option but to stop playing the game altogether. It’s a shame because it really is a nice game. The game is beautiful and the puzzles are decent albeit repetetive in nature and non-sensical in their logic (why is it my character has no problem moving two boxes into position on his own to climb up a level but I need to turn off two lights and move a block on the other side of the screen to make him turn left instead of go straight??). Ding bells, turn lights on and off, and move blocks. Thats the extent of the puzzles in gradually more difficult configurations. Which would be plenty given a great and compelling story line to keep you interested which we are not given despite their being "chapters" (chapters of what?! There's no story.)
