✓ Good but ridiculously expensiveThis game is two in one. You have a classic Mahjong game which is great, but you also have an expedition which involves a character going through five levels and collecting items as requested to complete challenges. In order to progress through, the character has to “buy” items to clear the clouds ahead. The big issue that you need “wands” to make these “purchases” and the maximum they give you is 200. Some of the items you need to get through the cloud “cost” more than 200, so progress is exceedingly slow. You can buy more wands using real money but for £4.99 you only get 450, which, given how many of the wands you need does not go far. I enjoy this game greatly but have had to delete it because I’m fed up spending my money on it, and find it far too boring and frustrating to wait for the wands to refill. When you can often clear literally one item at a time it just becomes utterly pointless. I do not recommend this game, sadly, because the concept is good. It’s just a total money spinner for the developers who won’t change the format..Version: 2.19
✓ Bad Reviews are OverwhelmingI just got this game, despite my better judgement...it sounds like something I would love but not sure that I will be able to complete the expeditions. It’s just one bad review after another....stating u cannot complete them in the time frame allotted, nor can u do so without spending money on boosters. You would think the developers would stop & think...wow!...we better do something about this because so many people are so upset-about the same things. But if u read their replies-they have absolutely NO INTENTION OF CHANGING THE GAME! They just tell each user they know it’s difficult & if they have any specific problems to contact them. Looks like they must not be able to read very well because everyone clearly stated what their issues were!! ✓ Annoying AdsI used to love playing this game but there are now far too many advertisements. I understand the need for ads but not to have them scrolling across the bottom of the screen whilst I’m in the middle of a game of mahjong - they break your concentration and are very distracting. I uninstalled the game and started again from scratch but this didn’t resolve the issue. Please fix or the game will have to go!.Version: 2.33
✓ A very unhappy long time player!I will be reporting this game and I’m go to be unsubscribing! I’m one of the highest players if not the highest and I’ve spent a lot of money getting there. The only way to get that high is to spend money. DON’T DO IT, you will continue to because the game has an algorithm so you have to use whatever you bought. For instance the wheel stops working or you can’t get past one of the tile games because it makes it impossible. Once you’ve used all of your package miraculously the wheel starts working again and you can also clear tiles. Oh and then a new package comes up with a special price and the cycle continues. The last straw was yesterday when I drought the game up there was an envelope and I clicked on it because I thought I might get something special. Oh I got something special it took all my coins that I had that I had just purchased in a package. I’ve contacted the company and got some stupid computer generated steps to follow to correct commonly ask questions and then nothing. With the amount of time and money that I have spent on this game (which was stupid on my part) I have decided to delete it in 14 hrs because that’s when my package hours run out. ✓ Pretty investing, but.This game is quite entertaining and enjoyable, it has great mahjong levels with an excellent plot to keep you busy, and beautiful illustrations. but it seems that as you go the levels really never seem to end. sure you get new items and plots but it feels kinda like miraculous ladybug, there isn’t really a moving point or when it’ll end. and the levels are endless, it doesn’t really make you feel like you’ve achieved anything since there are about 5,000 levels, (roughly). also, loading time is absolutely ridiculous , but this depends if your downloading something at the same time, your device etc..Version: 2.27.4
✓ THE GAME CAN NO LONGER BE PLAYED AFTER THE LATEST UPDATE (20TH OCTOBER 2017)I have just installed the new update (from 20th September 2017) for Mahjong Treasure Quest and I am now unable to play the game at all. When I click on the app I get the initial yellow screen which lasts for quite a while (much longer than it ever did before the update) and then it just crashes and my iPad returns to the home screen. This happens every time so I cannot get into the game at all. I hope this can be rectified very soon as I would really like to be able to continue playing the game..Version: 2.14.4
✓ Money grabbing poor designGot this a few days ago, initially I was happy. I did notice that whenever tiles are matched, the graphics get in the way of matching more tiles and take a while to fade. There is often the word fantastic which pops up across the tiles I am trying to match. All well and good on a normal level, but awkward when in a time trial as it takes away precious seconds. The length of time available in the dungeon areas are unrealistic. They have gone from around 20 minutes for 3 levels to 5 minutes! The whole thing is designed to get you frustrated and make you give in to buying expensive packs to help you finish levels. Packs are set too, and you cannot, for example, purchase permanent no timers, or permanent lives. I would not suggest anyone buys this game unless the developers change things..Version: 2.18.4

✓ 60 second ads are annoyingI’ve been enjoying the game and don’t mind watching an ad to get extra rewards. The ads used to be mostly 30 seconds but lately most of the ads seem to be 45 or 60 seconds - very annoying 😡. There are also some ads where you can’t exit the ad and they don’t give the reward. You have to completely exit the game and start over..Version: 2.30
✓ Love playing but...I have to agree with mostly of the reviews regarding the expeditions. While I completely enjoy the expeditions, i never complete a level. Mainly because of the infaled cost to cut grass or whatever object you need to remove. You are only allotted 200 stars and that is easily depleted by 4 or 5 moves, depending on what material needs to be removed. They hide presents which will give you more stars but again, material is in the way and it cost major stars to remove. Reducing the cost of cutting grass, or removing trees would be awesome. With only 200 stars to work with, cutting grass at 20 stars or trees at 95, rocks at 110 stars, etc. can deplete in a matter of minutes! Attempting to build the bridges is also an exhausting effort that I’ve never been able to complete. Not to mention I’ve never been able to collect all the magic dust. And I don’t mind spending a bit of cash to help reach goals but not the ridiculous amounts they require here. Reduce the cost of collecting the materials and give more stars to start the level!.Version: 2.23.3
✓ Mahjong tileThis game is very aggravating!!! You get on a timed level and if you don’t beat it and play it again the time only goes up 1 second, or not at all. Playing those hammer, feather etc levels the time never goes up. I’ve been at 3:03 for 3x now. You people need to fix this game or I’ll quit playing!!!! I understand you can win extra time on the wheel, BUT, if it’s a timed level then it should give you more time if don’t beat it!!!! BTW THIS GAME HASN’T LOADED IN 2 DAYS!!! ✓ Making me put a title in order to send reviewI like this game mainly for the graphics. It’s the most aesthetically pleasing for me out of the other mahjong style games offered in the apps store. However, I do agree with other reviewers who believe the game is stacked against them. Not that it’s designed with levels that are unbeatable but that you have to spend an exorbitant amount of time playing the game to win the expeditions/challenges, usually giving you about 1-3 days to pass 18-35 levels, many of them being timed levels requiring countless attempts at pushing the clock back to finally beat these levels. So how is this game even fun if you can’t beat it? Well if you spend money to get coins to get the extra time and shuffle moves, and etc then you have a chance. ✓ FrustratedI’ve been trying playing this game for years now, sometimes I get frustrated and go away for weeks/months then get hooked again. I’ve been playing pretty much every day for the past 10 months now and was really enjoying it. That was until the recent update. - You now get hints extremely quickly, this is irritating as it’s not helpful it can become a distraction. I’m getting hints as soon as I’ve matched a pair - the dungeons are awful! I used up all 5 lives in less than 5 minutes yesterday because it only gave me one move before there was no moves left on the first level! - the timer seems off. I was watching the clock go down and it definitely goes down quicker than it says. Each second is actually half a second mean you actually have only half the time is actually says. All that’s said in the last few months I was impressed with the following additions: - you can now win coins on the spin! - love the rewards on the heart collection - good rewards on the key collection. ✓ Fun, but..I do love this game. I love that it has a story line and you have the options to play for other tiles or the expeditions. That being said, it’s ridiculous that the expeditions are set up to force you to spend money. More often than not, I stop playing them when I get to the last level because there are three bridges with over 5000 supplies needed for each. This isn’t attainable without spending money, or sitting there waiting for power, both of which I refuse to do because it’s just a spare time game. So I just wasted a week for nothing, because it’s next to impossible to complete the final level of the expedition every time. The bridges should either have a lower number of supplies needed, or only one bridge to be built to complete the level. ✓ The contact help can not resolve an issueFirstly, I love this game. I don’t mind that you have to wait for lives or that on the dungeons treasure chest, the time only increases by a second or so for a while but what is absolutely infuriating is that on one of the dungeon levels, I was stuck on it for at least 3 weeks. I was told it was an algorithm and would resolve itself, it didn’t. I was advised to reinstall that didn’t work and neither did restarting the game so they gave me a few time boosters. I finally managed to complete the level and low and behold it’s happened again and here I am stuck on 2:02 minutes. Again no one seems to be able to give me a definitive answer on why it’s happening and more importantly, doing something about it..Version: 2.19.5

This is really frustrating as one minute I am playing it, the next it refuses to work (even when I am connected to the internet). I am also frustrated by the Expeditions. Why is the maximum energy 200 when most tasks require a lot more than that? Also, it is impossible to build bridges with the time available and the impossibly high targets of wood, stone etc needed. ✓ LOVE THIS GAME - JUST WISH THE EXPEDITIONS WERE ACTUALLY POSSIBLE TO COMPLETEI absolutely love playing this game and it’s safe t say that the expeditions is one of my favorite parts...HOWEVER, the expeditions are IMPOSSIBLE unless you want to spend money, which I don’t. In order to compete expeditions you have to build bridges 9in each level) out of grass, stone, and wood. However it takes THOUSANDS of each thing to build the bridge and only what you get from that particular level counts toward that bridge and even though sometimes each of these rings cost over 100 energy, you only get like 10 wood/stone/grass out of one item so it’s virtually impossible to build the bridge. Listen to your customers...either lower the number to build the bridge, renew energy quicker, lower the cost 0f energy to actually get an item or something otherwise people will quit playing, I know I am about to which upsets ,e because I really enjoy the game..Version: 2.21
✓ Too hardThis game would be very good if would be a bit easier to pass the levels. I stucked at level 135 and I’m not able to pass for a long time now and I’m talking about months. In 2,33 mins you have to pass 3 levels and the time is not refilling. So basically as much time you had left from the first game, from that much you have to continue in the second one and also do the third as well. However, it is VERY FRUSTRATING that there is never enough time to complete them. I finally stopped even reading what the characters say because there is no point getting interested in the story line when you will never find out the ending. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR VERY LIMITED MAGIC TRYING TO COLLECT DUST!!! I learned that the hard way, actually spending money trying to get to all the chests I could find, only to learn that you have to complete the whole expedition to get all the chests you need to be able to use the dust to get the special items. Now I know I put three stars, well that's because I think there algorithm for tile selection on blank tiles needs work. More than once had I gone into a level and began matching time when not even 30 seconds into the game I've run out of pairs or match ups, what ever they're called and I'm forced to either reshuffle or just take the loss. I mean, I can understand making a game more difficult as you climb the level ladder but don't make it impossible, 30 seconds in and I lose? That's a bit unfair don't you think? ✓ Too Little TimeHello, I LOVE this game but I also find it very frustrating. I’ve made it close to 200 levels but I’m about ready to stop playing due to the minimum time given on some of the levels. I understand you want people to make purchases of more lives, coins, etc but I’m an old person and there is no way I can pay for in app purchases. AND there is NO WAY I can complete any level in less than at least 5 minutes. 2+ minutes is way too short. Also the dungeon times are way too short. Then to have to wait for lives to replenish, well unfortunately these things are taking the fun out of it for me. I DO love the graphics...nice job....and it’s just plain really cute and fun except for these short time constraints. How about increasing the time allowed? I gave it to my grandchildren to try and they also think it’s fun and really cute but when I gave them one of my timed levels to try, they couldn’t even get it done and they range in age from 9-16. ✓ This Game is brokenI enjoyed majng to relax until this game. I understand free to play and game design models to get people to spend money, but this game doesn't balance that well. Note: spending 5 dollars for boosters doesn't even get you far and is pricey. It sacrifices fun game play for any and every effort to get the player to spend. Everything feels designed for a scam. There are also some bugs that I feel could be intentional. Typically there are sections with a timer too impossible fast to win. Every time u spend a life u are suppose to get more time. However in the adventure modes with different tile rewards and 3 days to beat, the timer will sometimes not increase like normal or will give different readouts for how much time it will give on the level depending if u return to the map or quit the app. Sometimes it will randomly take away time. This is a significant bug that makes it Impossible to advance fairly without spending lots of lives and/or money. If the bug is fixed so it fairly gives u at least 8 seconds in adventure modes for each attempt, I think that would be fair..Version: 2.14.4
✓ Pretty but expensiveThe graphics are beautiful, but adding ability to zoom to puzzles would be great for playing on phone. The adventures seem cool but the game gives you very limited “magic” to play, expecting you to spend real world money for more magic to advance. I’d still rather spend $40 or $50 one time for a game like we used to for console games than this in-game purchase thing that is designed to get your money at every turn. It’s a shame really. The game’s graphics are bright and colorful and imaginative but I simply refuse to spend my hard-earned money to play longer or advance. ✓ PotentialFirst I would like to say that this game has some brilliant potential however as someone who really enjoys games for story line this game is rather confusing as the story is quite jumbled with the different facets of the game. The mahjong portion of this game is fantastic and quite enjoyable, no complaints there. The exploration portion while fun, you do tend to run out of manic quite fast meaning you only gain a 4-5 suns per full energy. Also as a matter of nitpicking I greatly dislike the very obvious difference in art levels for the side characters and the main (the main looking worse). And finally the restoration portion, as I said before you only gain 4-5 suns per exploration so having goals at 9 or 10 is reasonable but it’s going to cost 39 to restore the roof and that imo is just way too much and I really have no interest playing your game anymore. ✓ Expeditions are literally impossible, game constantly crashesThere are things about this game I like and things that make me want to never play it again. The expeditions are one of my favorite parts of it, but they are literally impossible to beat without spending ridiculous amounts of money. Even if you never slept and worked on them constantly you would never be able to complete them— the material requirements for the bridges are way too high. Even if there weren’t time limits on the expeditions, who wants to spend all their free time cutting grass for days on end? Reduce the material requirements on the bridges to something realistic, take the time limits off the expeditions, and then they’d be playable. So far the experience is really just that you put days of effort into completing them and they finish and disappear and you feel like you’ve wasted all that time. Why not make it doable and give people the satisfaction of finishing something? You could make the next expedition accessible after the player beats the last one. The game also crashes constantly and sometimes refuses to start. The dungeons are also a pain because you have to play them about a dozen times to get a time that’s actually possible to beat. They added this mini game that lets you win custom tiles, which is okay, but why are you adding new stuff when you really just need to fix the stuff you already have?.Version: 2.18.4

I had stopped playing for awhile, but got interested again with the expeditions, only to find they’re absolutely impossible to win unless you spend hundreds of dollars. No exaggeration. Hundreds. I’ve played several now, thinking I was missing some trick to it, but I’m not. The developers are just insanely greedy. As someone who makes plenty of money and plays games for relaxation, I have a tip. I WILL spend money on your game if I can actually accomplish something. ✓ Great but frustratingI’ve been playing this game for years and love it/hate it at the same time. I started playing it as I love Mahjong and I wanted something to keep my mind active - for this reason it’s brilliant! There are many facets to it to keep you from getting bored and I’m now up to level 2700 so I consider myself fairly good at it. The massive downside and the reason for only 3 stars is the unstable timing issue on the dungeon games! The 3 dungeons that you are required to win before moving on are so frustrating! You need to complete them up to 10-15 times to build up enough time to finish! I believe this is a fault/bug in the game as during an update a few months back, the time allotted was much more doable at around 5 mins for each so yay, I believed the bug was fixed! However, the upgrade 2 days ago has sent the time allotted to just over 3 minutes which is no way enough and each time you fail, it only gives you another 3 seconds so you can imagine how many times you need to fail to get back up to the 5 mins needed to finish! Very annoying and whilst I fully understand the need for in game purchases, I feel this is forcing us to buy more time! Not cool Developers! I do buy extra coins from time to time but this is my choice to progress in the game and it’s not necessary for the basic levels. I’ve deleted the app. I cannot make progress in either the mini quests or the regular game play without significant additional purchases. I don’t mind buying a few extra every now and then, but when it literally becomes IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE ITEMS NEEDED TO ADVANCE (unless you’re constantly buying more energy to clear the field of play of obstacles) I’m done. ✓ Way to difficultThis game is ridiculously hard. You have to play the same level multiple times to pass it. On the dungeon levels, you have to play at least five times to gain up enough time in order to pass it. When you finish a sections you have to go back and replay multiple levels to get the correct items and half the time you can’t even choose the correct one out of the treasure box bc they move and so you have to play the level again. It is more stressful than fun. The expeditions are pointless because it’s nearly impossible to get enough magnifying glasses to remove trees and other items unless you spend money. There is no navigation to find the treasure with the magnifying glasses and it’s impossible to look around for them bc they are completely hidden. This game would be fun if the developers weren't so greedy and made it less difficult to actually play..Version: 2.16.2

Even after spending coins on swapping the tiles when I can’t go any further and there’s only a handful left, I am only able to match 1 or 2 tiles and then that’s it can’t complete the level. ✓ Good game but needs work.If you love mahjong you will inevitably like this game. The developers have attempted a match 3 type setup complete with levels, maps, power-ups to spice up an old classic. The problem is they haven't spiced it up enough. Tutorials run flat, game strategies are disorganized and easily lost when presented and tutorials are unexciting. The animation is woefully mediocre and unimaginative with little or no investment in game characters (which Best Fiends and Two dots does brilliantly). So what we have is a decent game of mahjong. The attempts made to be make the game competitive and "quest oriented", however, fall unfortunately short. ✓ Money grubbing, forces microtransactionsIs it a fun game? Sure. It passes the time and presents a fun challenge. Doesn’t do much to progress the storyline beyond photo scraps (will the kid ever find her parents? Probably not.) That said, it’s extremely irritating that this game forces micro transactions. I’m sorry, I’m watching a 30 second ad on your platform every five minutes and that doesn’t raise enough revenue? There are levels that you will lose upwards of twenty times (or just never?) because you need a booster to win, which you can only get by sheer dumb luck or by buying them. Dungeon levels have times so low that you have to again lose them multiple times to gain time or surprise, buy boosters. There are levels with diamonds or locks that you simply can’t beat without the boosters due to the way the tiles are stacked. They force you to use microtransactions to be able to progress and I’m sorry, but that’s just ridiculous. There are so many successful games out there that allow non-paying users just as much success as paying users, with perks from watching ads the whole time. This app just wants your money, plain and simple. ✓ Communication Please!I’ve been playing this game for a couple of years so I obviously love this game but since the last update a few weeks ago there are SO many issues. Not the least of which is that whenever I open the game to play it starts me back to where I was when all the trouble started, never saving my progress. ✓ Limited playabilityWhile I really enjoy this game and would agree with with many other reviewers that it's one of the best Mahjong games out there, the fact that you have only a few lives and have to wait to regenerate really knocks the game down for me. If there was an option to buy the game with a one off payment to do away with limited lives then the game would have got an extra star. I also believe this game is heavily swayed for you to lose. Heavily stacked against you. Countless times you find yourself losing with just a few tiles left, the tiles you need underneath inaccessible tiles. Again for this reason it drops a star. If it hadn't been for those two quibbles then I would have given it five stars. ✓ The game really does force you to pay to make progressI play several “free” games that have ads and in app purchases. Due to this game not having ads, of course they want you to spend money. I have been able to make progress in all other games I’ve played but this game is very difficult to get anywhere without purchases. I don’t want to make purchases, so I am stuck on level 26 and can’t progress. It’s not even a difficult puzzle but I have played it 20 times now and can never solve it. I would need at least one shuffle boost icon, which the app makes difficult to get, in order to pass this level. Basically you may be able to get one kind of boost a day for free but there have been several days where I didn’t receive any. After completing each level there are boxes that say “you found” above them, and I was hoping to maybe find boosters or something, but those boxes are empty after every level I have completed, even the several I passed with all 3 stars. I have no idea what a player can “find” in a level because I have never “found” anything on any of the 25 regular levels nor the several other side levels I have successfully completed. It can be a fun game IF you are willing to spend money. If not, you will loose your 5 lives in 15 minutes or less and have to quit and try again later in the day or the next day where your new 5 lives will last about another 15 minutes or less. ✓ Pay to Win gameIf you want a game that you eventually can’t play without buying expensive in app purchases this is it. Not really fun or challenging after a few chapters. Timers and the limited expeditions are impossible even with purchase. Also I’m starting to think they make levels impossible to win on purpose. Some of the levels that include shape matching on tiles won’t even give me the first shape I need till theres no more matches. Timers on dungeons will increase by like 3 seconds now. And some levels won’t let you pass at all without using their purchases (boosts, shuffles, etc) or till you play it like 20 times. Can’t even describe the anger I’ve felt getting to the end, using a shuffle, but then I still don’t complete it because one purposely positioned tile. ✓ Don't pay for a subscription!When I first downloaded this game, I *mostly* loved it. I've always liked mahjong and it was nice to have a different spin to it; rather just playing the boards, there was a storyline. I didn't like how long it took to get new lives, though. When the subscription service started, I was overjoyed. Half the time to get a new life! However this quickly lost its appeal as my subscription kept turning off, but I was still being charged for it. The first couple of times it happened, I told myself it was new, give them a break. Then it kept happening. Most recently I was charged a couple of weeks ago and have yet to have it actually turned on. I sent many emails and told them I'd lose it for a week or so before it was turned back on and they never even offered to refund me for those days/weeks, or give me any incentive to keep it up, like extra lives or boosters. In short, the game itself is fun, but be prepared to run out of quests early on (and have some levels impossible to beat without boosters) and definitely DO NOT waste any money on this game. I was forgiving at first but this is just ridiculous at this point (yes I've since cancelled the subscription). ✓ Good to Pass Time....When I first came across the game, I wanna thought it was awesome to have a cool Mahjong game with awesome graphics and a storyline. The enthusiasm quickly fades. Then when they introduced the expeditions, I was excited again. Major disappointment as well. The timed levels begin to become unrealistic. You have to play them sometimes ten or more times to get to a reasonable time. You can’t proceed to the next level without completing 3 timed levels. Some levels are designed where there isn’t a way to win without using a boost or until the game decides you can pass. As far as the expeditions, total failure. There are usually 3 bridges in each level that take an upwards of 4-5 days to complete, on an 11 day expedition with several levels. Even if you do purchase boosts, they are still not enough to put a dent in the required resources for the bridges. How fun is that? I spent money on the expeditions in the beginning but once I realized it was still pointless, I stopped. Furthermore, now the “gift boxes” or special trees, etc to earn dynamite are starting to come up empty. Spend 185 starts and get nothing? I am on level 405. Sadly, after this last expedition, I will be deleting the game. I would rather play candy crush or some other mundane game to pass the time. ✓ Lost credits for expedition tasksI enjoy this game for the most part and have spent ridiculous hours playing it, but in the last two expeditions I’ve run into a problem (obviously a bug) where after I collect items toward a task, I do not get credit for having collected them. For example, on the current winter expedition, there was a task on level 2 to collect two hortensias. I collected one and noticed that I did not get credit for it on the task. Then I collected another, and did get the credit - but when I went back to the game later, I was back to zero hortensias. This is unbelievably frustrating because it takes so long to build up the magic to collect these kinds of items. Until the game makers can say with confidence that they’ve fixed these bugs, I don’t recommend anyone download this game, and certainly don’t give them your money..Version: 2.19
✓ DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!!!!I’ve been playing this game for a few years now, off and on. I redownloaded it several months ago and it has definitely improved in the few years since I started playing it. It is really fun and visually appealing, but I made the mistake of buying the $5 pack that would give me extra awards. After I did that, I was no longer able to watch ads to get power ups that I needed to complete some levels and I could no longer watch ads to get fairy dust for the expeditions. What’s most frustrating is how often I’ve been running into levels that are legitimately unbeatable without a shuffle power up, but even with a shuffle power up sometimes you still fail the level. It’s ridiculous. And it’s also been glitching a lot recently to where it says it’s not connected to the internet when no other apps on my phone have been having this issue. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to try to fix it and I lost all of my progress, including everything I paid for !!!! ✓ Could be a good gameThis game has the potential to be a great game. It has good ideas & themes. What they need to improve in to be a great game is fix the expeditions. One, I have my phone & iPad synced to Facebook but only the tiles work between the two. Everything else works independently so I can’t go back & forth between my phone & iPad to play. Second there is no way you can ever finish an expedition. This is my second one & I am not sure that I am going to play anymore. It needs to either have a lot more time added to play or take the time away totally. Then there is no rewards if you do get to the very end of the story line or of you completely finish a level. I don’t mind spending some money on games that you can at least get somewhere but when it seem like a lost cause what’s the use? The tiles can be frustrating also as some levels are nearly impossible to get three stars on. I use to be able to get 150 magic power by watching a video every 15 mins, I spent a couple dollars to buy coins and the videos have been cut in half, every 30 mins now. The videos were my main way of farming magic powder. Its complete bull that i lose out on half of the magic power just because i spent a few dollars. I was completing more and more with each new expedition, but haven't been able to complete one yet (or even one stage), now I'm never going to be able to get close to finishing them. I feel like I'm being punished for using the store. Never making that mistake again. To gain new lives you have to wait 30 mins per life and you only get 3 coins every level up but it takes 9 coins to use for extra help. You can buy new lives and coins for $9.99+. When you are being timed the time is impossibly low so you have to use multiple lives for one puzzle. I would love this game and give it 5 stars if it was truly a winnable game. ✓ Great Production Values, Requires $First let me say that this is an excellent Mahjong game. Production values are quite high, there are a lot of puzzles to solve, and the extra mini games are enjoyable and cute. It is a prime example of a Freemium game. That said, the need to spend a decent amount of money to meaningfully progress takes away a lot of the lustre and makes the game far more frustrating than it could be. I don’t expect to win every hand of Mahjong, but I often lose matches with 4 tiles remaining, which means the puzzles are deliberately created to encourage use of shuffles and tile clears. Of course, all of those cost money. Similarly, in the mini game, one must clear areas of the map to obtain stars, but you are not given nearly enough power to do so. The only way to get power quickly enough to clear the puzzles before time runs out: spend money. I do not begrudge the developers for taking this route - games of this quality cost a lot to make. But there are plenty of good mahjong games on the App Store that don’t require money to progress, and this one simply isn’t unique enough to warrant the frustration..Version: 2.17.1
✓ Needs some tweakingI actually like this game, I think it’s great, but it would be better if it were improved in some areas. My biggest problem is that I’ll loose a life just because I can’t shuffle the tiles, then there are other times where I can shuffle so I do since there aren’t many tiles left but then it’ll purposely shuffle them to where I have to shuffle again and usually the second time I can’t, so I loose another life. And the other thing that bothers me is that in the expedition i can get more magic if I go out looking for it which means using my magic to find more, and if I used it all I have to wait for it to fill up again, and the max I can wait for is 200 which is too little especially if some things you have to use more than 200. There are of course the frustrating levels that basically REQUIRE a booster to complete (like the near-impossible time trial ones), but it’s mostly enjoyable. I also really liked the expedition feature, and spent my time poorly on the last one, so I had looked forward to this new one. Unfortunately, since it launched, the expedition will not load, and the wheel hasn’t had “any available videos” 🤨. So, my timer is counting down, but I can’t even load the content (it hangs indefinitely on 90%, after taking 2-3 seconds per previous percentage). There have been many bad changes (the latest useless bonus tile things) to this game over the years but the latest one where they force you to watch ads unless you pay was too much. ✓ Difficult to open appThis game is very addictive and fun to play. There are limited time bonus chapters to win other themes which are also fun to play. However I have noticed if I start the bonus chapter and shut the game part way through the chapter, I then can not reopen the game until the limited time has finished. This then means there are no options to finishing the chapter or continue playing the original games. I have tried many different methods to restart the game including turning the phone off, closing the app, deleting and reinstalling the app and starting the app with and without WiFi or 3G. None of these methods have worked if the limited time chapters are still ongoing. At times this does mean the game can not be played for a fews day’s which then causes you to lose interest. However, we find that the expeditions are impossible to complete given the resources we can earn ourselves without buying coins and converting those to stars. As I progress in the game I have also found the shorter time limits on some of the levels and dungeons to be pretty ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on the bridges in the expeditions. That’s the most irritating of all for me. The thing that bothers me most, I think, is the response of the developers to the negative reviews. Though they are polite to reviewers, they don’t have any intention of making this game playable without buy-ins, that much is clear. The amount of magic required to repair the bridges makes it impossible to fully complete the levels. Given that you only earn half credit for the materials that you gather, this means that a bridge that requires 4800 materials to repair actually requires 9600 materials to be gathered. I understand that the developers are trying to get you to make in app purchases, but with those requirements and the cost to purchase additional magic stars, it would cost me $50 PER BRIDGE, which is absolutely ludicrous. I have no problem spending a few dollars here and there to help me advance in a game, but $50 per bridge when there are at least 3 bridges in each level is just stupid and is a completely unrealistic expectation. At the very least, 100% of resources gathered should count towards bridge repair. Even better would be if the bridge repair also required fewer materials. Otherwise, I’m about to give up on expeditions because they are impossible to complete and it just gives the impression that the developers are greedy..Version: 2.18.4
✓ Game developers too greedyEven with a purchase in game, the game constantly squeezes you to make more purchases by making it almost impossible to proceed without spending more. I’ve played one level over 20 times now and passed it but it won’t give me the item I need to unlock the next stage, prompting me to purchase the item. In game coins and boosters are crazy expensive. Losing interest very quickly. The side quests are boring and a waste of time. I purchased a gold pass and seeing next to no value for money for my purchase. I have gotten almost nothing for my money other than ditching a few ads. I do not recommend this game at all..Version: 2.28.1
✓ Expeditions are too hardI really enjoy the game however the expeditions are just ridiculously hard to complete fully. The recharge rate for wands is very slow and you need to spend far too much real money if you want to complete them. The grass/wood/stone bridges take DAYS to build even with the bonus gift boxes and that’s on each level! It’s incredibly frustrating and means I end up not playing again for months because of how tedious it gets..Version: 2.19.5
✓ Customer service pffSo as we all know in case of inconvenience you should be listened to and in worst cases give little extra to make customer happy. I paid for coins that i didnt receive. Went through fuss wasted my time with them and they tell me they wont send me full amount of coins because apparently 9 coins was added to my acc after purchase by error not the full amount of coins. So instead of just giving me these 9 coins extra they kept messing about cos of bloody 9 coins... i had enough. Deleted.Version: 2.19
