This is fun, has an awesome user experience, and the game play is solid. (Disregard some of the complaints from users looking for tournament equivalent play.) ✓ MemoriesMy dad and I used to play cribbage together all the time when I was younger: it was like a rite of passage in our family. He was absurdly good and absurdly lucky, which made it all the more satistfying the rare times I could actually win a game. He died of cancer just over a decade ago, but I still like to play crib every now and then, to honour his memory. When my fiancee told me this game had customizable grandpas who made jokes, cutesy crib rhymes, and so forth, I knew what I had to do. I downloaded the game, created a surprisingly good facsimile of my dad, and went to it. I left the conversation and difficulty at their defaults (though I've since increased both to max), and was delighted by the odd exchange we had. He even had Dad's accursed good luck with cards, however he managed that. At the end of the game, when he said "fifteen two, and that'll do," I took a screenshot and shared it with my mom. We spent about half an hour in teary-eyed reminiscence, and I began to ache for a real game of cribbage with my dad. While I can never have that again in this lifetime, this game is the closest I've come to experiencing that feeling in almost eleven years. This is easily the best $4 CAD I've ever spent in the App Store, and I heartily recommend it for anyone who enjoys cribbage and misses playing it with any of the grandpas in their life..Version: 1.2

It is flexible in the difficulty that you would like, and the amount of customization options are numerous. You also get to pick on some personality sliders as well which gives a nice personal touch. I struggled a lot at sixth form, and eventually dropped out for mental health reasons, but whenever I was anxious or lonely or down, I would always have grandpa “Oswald” to play cribbage with. His compliments and chatter would make me smile even on my hardest days. More recently, however, I lost my own grandpa. ✓ Crib with characterIm just starting to learn cribbage and downloaded a bunch of the free cribbage games on the App Store before finding this. What they all had in common was throwing ads in your face. In some of the apps you can pay to remove the ads, but if you’re in the business of selling ads I don’t really trust that you’re going to stop tracking me and selling my data just because I paid to remove them. This game is different though. It was clearly made by a small team, made with care, and has loads of character. ✓ Solid Title, But A Few Kinks...I’ve had this game for nearly a year and usually had no complaints—there’s no goatees or full beards for your grandpa, but I can usually make that work. The gameplay is solid and intuitive, allowing you to watch how your grandpa scores and ask him for help—but thankfully it also allows you to skip that if you’re in a rush and Grandpa’s got a 14-point-hand. In short, this game does a great job of teaching you Cribbage. However, I did notice a major glitch recently—you cannot win when placing down cards at the beginning. I was one point away from victory, with one card in my hand. Grandpa played a nine, and lo and behold that was my card! I played it, my score moved to 121, and then nothing happened! I tapped on Grandpa, and he simply told me to select a card from my now-empty hand. I’d appreciate it if this was fixed..Version: 1.5

✓ Solid and CharmingI was looking for a good cribbage app to keep my skills sharp. I am usually a cheapskate, but thought this one looked different enough to pay a few dollars for. I’m really glad I did. You can create multiple grandpas, and there are nearly infinite ways to the change their appearance, and personalities. There are multiple difficulty levels, and grandpa can even teach you to play crib. ✓ Very cuteClean looking and fun. Cribbage is a game I’ve never played before but this makes it easy to get into :) the character creator is also pretty cool! (Shouts out to Juice McElroy for the rec) One thing that would make it more interesting would be strategy suggestions. ✓ Silly Grandpa!!There he goes again. Senility is a blessing and Grandpa sure can tell a dirty joke. Now his calling has been for years, cracking wise cracks about crack. I’d tell ya, the “oldfart”can play some crib. He usually can take two out of three from me on account of his flatulent problems ongoing force me to forfeit the last game. ✓ Absolutely adorable.As someone who lost both grandparents quite young the grandpa isn’t a figure I’m particularly used to. One died when I was too young to remember and the other had Alzheimer’s for a long time so normal grandad activities didn’t really happen. I do remember, when I was very little, watching him garden with his big sideburns. This game makes little cartoons feel like grandpas. Didn’t realise how much I missed him until I played this. It doesn’t take long for these guys to really feel like people and now, whenever I’m feeling really sad or homesick. I sit down a play a few games of cribbage with grandpa and I feel so much better. This is a lovely, lovely game, for people who love grandpas. Interest in cribbage, optional..Version: 1.5.1

✓ Is grand pa cheating?I feel like after one of the most recent updates the game now gives grand pa way better hands than I get with greater frequency. Previously I had a 2:1 win ratio over grand pa, but he’s about to overtake me. He’ll score 19+ Points on a hand at least once a game where as the most I can score is about 12 as my best hand for each game. Hard to beat that..Version: 1.5.1

✓ Fantastic Way to Learn!This game is insanely charming. I tried to learn Cribbage with my family but just couldn’t understand any of it and was so discouraged because I was told that the only way I could learn it was with other people. But after practicing on here, I feel like I can finally play with them! I keep telling my partner that I have to “practice with grandpa a bit more before I play with him”. ✓ Great game!Very fun and extremely reliable. I have played over 1000 games and had it lock once, support took care it right away. It’s fun playing with your own Grandpa. He gives advice on play (although he doesn’t always follow the “don’t lead with a five unless you really know what you’re doing”.) ✓ Thankful for my virtual GrandpaAs corny as it is, I love having a virtual grandpa to play cards with. We’re currently under quarantine. My “grandpa” is someone to at cribbage with. ✓ Sooo much fun for any downtimeWhen I bought this I had no clue how to play the game and it looked fun and boy was I right. Made my grandpa I made mine kinda crabby in the settings he taught me to play right away and I set it so that he could steal points from me if I missed something while scoring my hand. Now I can play proficiently and still love playing with my grandpa “Rick” when I have some free time. Totally worth it.Version: 1.5.1
✓ An All Around Great GameI love the level of customization you can put into each different Grandpa in order to make the game as challenging as you like. The fact that you can create a Grandpa that can look as close to a real person as you can get is by far my favorite part of the game. Now I can play cards with the Grandpa I never knew and whoop the uncle I see just a few times during the year. This is a fun way to learn Cribbage or hone your skills. I like that you can get hints during scoring when needed and learn the ins and outs of the game at the same time. A welcome addition to my iPhone for sure..Version: 1.3

But it’s an incredibly charming game, and the grandpa’s are probably one of the best male role models in my life... Which is sad, but that also says something about the game. ✓ Fun to play with a few bugsI just downloaded this game and haven’t played it much, but I did notice a weird scoring bug - if I have some cards that should score some points but are part of a larger set, I can’t score for the smaller set. For example, if I have three aces, I can score the set of three but not the pairs. Same with a flushes. It’s mildly annoying because that’s some points I’m losing. I do love the gameplay and the concept of the app though!.Version: 1.5

✓ LOVE the game but.....This game is great because I get to create my opponents choose their personality traits and their amount of skill which is good because I’m a beginner. The problem is that this game is extremely frustrating. If I get a hand with 29 points the grandpa still wins. It’s almost impossible too beat the grandpas unless you put them on the lowest skill level which is just boring. So yeah other than that problem I would definitely recommend getting this game..Version: 1.5.1
