✓ Fun but can be irritatingThe game begins by creating and naming your grampa, once complete, you select him from the ingame contacts. You can make a several gramps of various aptitude’s and select character traits. There’s also a tutorial that I didn’t use so cannot comment. During play you have to work out your score each time which is a nice touch but there should be an option for the score to be worked out for you. If you accidentally press the continue button you score is taken as 0 and that spoils the game for me. The music grates a bit during play but it can be turned off. The grandpa chat bubbles gets repetitive very quickly. Although there is an option to reduce his input, more variation on what he says would have been better in a paid game. There are better free games out there but it’s a little bit of fun if you like playing crib..Samzie2015Version: 1.5.1

✓ Fun, Improvements NeededThis game is fun and ZERO commercials! That in itself deserves cudos! App is a great training tool if you are going to play actual cribbage with people in real life. However, even on the mid range of difficulty, the grandpa seems to always get great cards so there is more loosing than winning. And the muggins selection is only on YOU! You don’t have the opportunity to call muggins on grandpa. Also found when you are taking turns throwing down, he almost always has the perfect cards to collect more points. ✓ Game lies to youGame tells you the cards are based on mistakes Grandpa makes, less as you go up, and cards are always dealt randomly. If you play level 5 you'll see they're clearly not random. ✓ Cute game, but so much cheatingNice take on cribbage, colorful design. It's a nice app. But since it's a game of chance, the harder the difficulty level the more the AI cheats. About 80% to 90% of the the time, when I lay down a pair, the Grandpa makes it a triple. There's just no way that happens on a random shuffle. And that almost never happens to benefit me. ✓ Would give more stars, game broken on iPhone 11 Pro MaxI think this game is fun and creative, and I’ve played it a lot, but the game scoring is broken on iPhone 11 Pro Max. The cribbage scoring surrounds the play screen as normal but as the tokens advance they do not stay on the score track and cut into the game. The fame wasn’t meant to be played on the bigger iPhone screen. Once addressed, I’d probably give this game 4/5 stars, with one star missing because the “randomness” of the game isn’t quite random, with the grandpas getting lucky cards too often at critical moments to be truly random. Otherwise this is a fun and creative game. I created a stubborn angry grandpa that’s a sore loser who beats me more than I beat him, and I love to hate on him!.B MagicVersion: 1.5.1

The probability of someone getting a 12 point hand is around 3% but it seems like that is almost the minimum hand the grandpa is dealt regularly. I have played over 150 games and have only won around 1/3, I have yet to skunk grandpa but he has done it to me numerous times, 12-16 point hand (and cribs!) are regular for the grandpa, and it seems like he always has the pair / finish to a run / perfect last card during play..BleskanVersion: 1.5.1

Bad: The algorithm that deals the cards—and especially that plays the hands—is obviously skewed and not random at all. When I play the Lowball grandpa, especially, I can accurately predict the draw card at least 50% of the time. It’s no fun to know ahead of time that the game is fixed. ✓ Typical cheat mechanics from digital board gamesThe rampant cheating in these types of games is just astounding. Instead of making the game more difficult through better AI or better game play, they just rig the cards. Been ahead on many occasions where the AI player has pulled two 26 point rounds in a row. AI always seems to let me go first and always has the last go before winning. I have never finished a game where the AI hasn’t had a chance to respond. The stupidly good roll of cards the AI gets is beyond a joke and wears thin very soon. There is no amount of a lead that the game won’t claw back by fixing the deck. A few games here and there, it’s luck, but game after game after game gets tiring. Think I’ll just go back to playing live games with real people where decks aren’t fixed and good game play is rewarded, unlike here, where good game play is punished by outright cheating. ✓ Frustrating game play. If you play cribbage with real people do not play this game!The game play is abhorrent. The developers should’ve paid as much attention to the play as they did to the aesthetics. In no human game of cribbage have I ever witnessed such skewed game play. I just watched my opponent, through three full games, get only one hand under 10 points, while I had more than a dozen hands dealt with no more than 4 possible points. During play my opponent will, during one hand, play brilliantly, always having the pair or the third of a kind. Then, on the next hand they will inexplicably lay down a 5 to start, all while having multiple other, less dangerous, options available. It’s frustrating playing against what is so obviously a poorly constructed algorithm. Get it together. Let’s also mention the issue with runs during the play. There has never been a case where the opponent has not had a answer to a run card. Literally never. If I start the play and lay down a two, he then lays down a three, and then if I lay down a four, he will always have a three or five. What’s worse is that this continues. If I then lay down an appropriate card to continue the run, he will, without fail, respond with the appropriate run card. He never cannot match the run. It only ends when either I cannot complete the run or we approach 31. I could go on, but Jesus. Just fix it..DONeill76Version: 1.5.1

I don’t want to say ‘rigged’ because that’s too strong, but as you get up into the higher difficulties, it seems that grandpa has good luck while you have bad luck more and more often. Like if you have two possible straights before you put into the crib, the cut will always favour the one you discarded, thus screwing you. ✓ RiggedThe game is fun, but it’s worth mentioning that the game scales difficulty not by improving the decision making capabilities of the AI, but instead does so by just throwing great hands at grandpa, one after the other. If you want to play on any difficulty besides the easiest one, it will give grandpa 12-16 point hands every single time, while throwing you hands that you’ll be lucky to get 6 points out of. Grandpa will also have every card necessary to complete every fifteen, pair, run, or 31 during pegging without fail. ✓ Great game spoiled by bugsI love this game but there's a bug in the pegging phase where the grandpa will always be awarded points for last card while the player only receives them when they still have cards remaining in their hands. I've contacted the developer and have heard no response and see no update so unfortunately it's a 1 star rating until it's fixed. ✓ Excellent but only on lower levelsThis game is excellent, at first. Great avatars and setting (although I played with my grandma who was a champion cribbage player so grandmas are needed). I hadn’t played on a while and the “hadn’t played in a while” setting was perfect but I won all the time. I went up to the next level, but grandpa just gets much better cards. It’s not a very well designed game play for various skill levels. The grandpa just gets stupidly good cards and you can’t really win. A real let down. ✓ Grandpa gets all the good handsI’ve noticed that grandpa consistently gets ridiculously good hands. Like averaging around 10-12 points, even in his crib. I have played over 40 games with him now and whenever I pull ahead he gets at least a 14-20 point hand and an extremely high crib. This isn’t sour grapes, just after this happening many MANY games in a tow, I’ve grown suspicious that he has a few fives and multi-runs up his sleeve. 😐.YourPimp1Version: 1.5.1
