ARP ODYSSEi for Negative User Reviews

No MIDI Learn Capability?I find this app to sound really great, but I am beyond disappointed that this app does not have MIDI learn capability. IT IS 2019!!! Sound quality is sort of nullified by the fact that a fundamental piece of the ODDYSSEi puzzle is missing. How is it even possible that an app like this could be so expensive, when it lacks one of the simplest, yet most important features of musical performance? For the sound quality, I have given a bonus star, but this really is no more than a 1 star app without MIDI learn or even a mention of CC signals or channels in the manual (I read the manual cover to cover last night). I have many of the other apps and 4 hardware instruments made by KORG, so it is obvious that I am a fan, but this is just unacceptable. Get your act together, KORG! You are better than this..Version: 1.0.3

Update to AUv3…Please!Im happy that such great sounding apps exist for iOS from a reputable company like Korg. But Imo, it’s disrespectful to their customers to still charge a premium for these instruments while apparently refusing to update them to AUv3. They should at least be more upfront about this in the product description at this point..Version: 1.0.6

IPod Touch 6th Gen - Menus not fitting on screenI have just bought this. Dissapointed to find that the menus don't seem to fit onto the iPod Touch 6th Gen screen. There is a bottom menu item, or several, description unknown, that are below the bottom of the visible screen. I hope this can be considered in a later update..Version: 1.0.3

Forget using this app in CubasisThis app ‘talks’ to nothing. You can’t record it into cubasis for example. Brilliant sounds but if you can’t connect via midi or internal iPad DAWs what’s the point ? Come on Korg get this fixed,.Version: 1.0.3

Missing features other Korg iOS apps haveI enjoy this synthesizer and the upgrades from the hardware version like polyphony, arpeggiator, effects but it is missing features other Korg iOS synths have and therefore seems incomplete compared to their other iOS releases. Features missing from Odyssei but present on other Korg iOS synths like iMS20, iPolysix, etc: -sequencer, song, pattern features -in-app audio recorder -drum machine (with percussion sounds synthesized from independent synth engine per track, each identical to the main synthesizer engine) -WiST-compatibility Please fix this Korg and this would be a 5-star Software Synthesizer!.Version: 1.0.3

Need some more functionsStill waiting for MIDI Learn function.Version: 1.0.6

Y’all gonna AUv3 this library of toy apps or like whadup?Korg, there are independent players that do a better job of designing apps on iOS than you do - honestly this is kind of embarrassing. I love these apps but it’s 2024 practically - ain’t no way I’m not gonna complain about the obsolete state of audio transmission that these substantially expensive apps have. Sorry, but if you’re looking for a serious synth this is probably not the best one to start with - unless you really want this specific korg model. No AUv3 support = not a serious app for musicians. Sorry, but it’s literally the truth..Version: 1.0.6

Pitch does not track correctly in GadgetLatest update adds "Equal" tuning in settings, which does correct the issue of pitch not tracking the keyboard correctly. Unfortunately, there is no way to set this when used as a synth from within Gadget; it uses its "Analog" tuning setting, which sounds badly out of tune. Really hope KORG fixes this so it's usable in Gadget, because otherwise it's an incredible synth..Version: 1.0.3

Great sounding synth, but missing important IOS itemsI really love playing and programming this wonderful sounding synth and would fully recommend this to anyone who loves synths. However, this is still missing some fundamental items and has not been updated for some time now. I would expect to see the following included, considering the price of the app: 1. No IAA Panel: Although on the Korg website, it states that it supports IAA, it does not display the all important IAA panel, with host link, transport, & record buttons. This happens when launching it from Cubasis and AUM hosts. 2. No MIDI IAA selection from host: Although this app appears in the IAA Audio track selection dropdown in Cubasis, it strangely does not appear in the IAA MIDI instrument track selection dropdown in Cubasis. 3. Fixed velocity on-screen keyboard: Although this app has a programmable velocity modulation parameter, there is no way to hear the result of this, because the on-screen keyboard only plays fixed velocity notes. The only way this can be achieved is by using an external MIDI velocity keyboard (which is not always available) or by programming it into the arpeggiator/sequencer, which is not the same as a musician playing the synth. 4. No tempo synchronisation with other apps: Although this app has a great arpeggiator, there is no way to synchronise its tempo with other hosts or DAWs (eg. Cubasis) though IAA, MIDI clock or Ableton Link. 5. No AU implementation: Does not appear in the AU lists of any host. I really wish Korg would include these missing items in the next released version of the app, as it is more difficult to include this amazing app into a musician's workflow on IOS, without them. It really is unacceptable in an app at this high price and from such a top manufacturer. This sadly applies to most of the other Korg apps. Odyssei v1.0.3 / iPad Air2 / IOS 11.4.Version: 1.0.3

Still no AUv3? Is there real reason for this?Come on Korg! We all have moved to AUv3 nowadays or most of us. This is only reason I stop buying your apps ages ago. Totally nice but totally crippled by lack of connectivity:( shame:(.Version: 1.0.5

MIDI not fully implementedExternal MIDI input not working. Don't waste your money..Version: 1.0.2

It could be so much better...Such potential, yet missing some of the key features to become a real live instrument: -No midi learn function? Comon Korg, it's almost 2017 we need this in your iOS apps.... -No double tap to return value to default. That is one of the main annoyance I've also found. Other than that the app is amazing, the sound is good and the recreates the real ARP feeling..Version: 1.0.0

Could be so good. This synth sounds amazing and could be a major part in any musicians synth studio but the integration woefully inadequate, come on Korg sort this out you are leaving it short..Version: 1.0.3

3 Stars off for lack of midi controlWhy oh why would you trouble yourselves creating such an amazing sounding synth app only to skip on any kind of midi control? Being that this is the most expensive iOS synth I’ve purchased, it feels like somewhat of a ripoff not being able to automate..Version: 1.0.4

No full features in gadgetSo no full features in gadget. That’s ridiculous. In gadget it’s listed as one of the synths to use/buy. But when I bought it I discovered Its not the full job. Waste of money. Very annoyed. Don’t buy..Version: 1.0.3

No midi map, no Auv, no precise settingsCannot numerically dial in controls, have to try to get the number you need sliding little dials on screen. Nice sounds, but worthless if you operate in AUM or actually hope to program it, and not just call up presets. One of my worst purchases..Version: 1.0.6

AUv3 Please 😭Sorry but I don’t use Gadget and never will. It just doesn’t work for me. But your stand-alone synths are awesome and need to be AUv3! Needs to be AUv3!.Version: 1.0.4

Terrible on iPhone 12.They don’t even use the whole display! It’s 2022 and they still are inferior quality..Version: 1.0.5

It is brilliant. Not quite so brilliant as Ableton live or Bitwig or Pro Tools or FLStudio or...it's not even as good as. I can't be bothered anymore. Firejan82...please please please stop giving every "Swear" music app 5*. The reason I mention PC/Mac is because these are what we should b heading for. This Korg is a million miles from Heavyocity out today "Punish". Or Sugarbytes (top apps) Obscurium and loads more. CB2 should MAYBE get 5*s. And that does everything a non PC/Mac DAW should do...except be as good as the PC/Mac programs..Version: 1.0.1

Good but can be a little inconvenientIt’s a great synthesizer but after owning for awhile I do have a few complaints. First is that you can’t set the keyboard to play different scales on the iPad version, however you can do this on the iPhone version. It’s not that much easier to play scales on an iPad than it is on an iPhone. Both versions should include this feature. Also setting the tempo on this thing is so tedious. There should really be a text box where you can punch in the tempo you want without having to use the arrows. I would rate five stars but these two oversights have caused me so much frustration that I refuse to give this a good rating until they're fixed..Version: 1.0.3

Please update to fit new iPad screens!Need to resize the UI to fit new iPad pros and airs! Don’t like how the ends of the screen are cut off and doesn’t make use of the screen real estate! Simple fix that y’all need to implement. Gadget has been resized, why not your other apps? It sounds amazing and just needs a UI change..Version: 1.0.5

No AUV3Are you kidding me!.Version: 1.0.5

Great sound marred by rubbish guiSounds amazing but poor controls that jump around erratically make it a frustrating experience. No doubt to make you buy their preset packs which they charge at a premium. Poor show Korg....Version: 1.0.3

Does NOT respect “no rating nag” settingI have the “let apps nag me for reviews” setting turned OFF but you nagged me for a review anyway, so here is your 1 star review. Nobody wants to be interrupted and told to write a review! >:-(.Version: 1.0.3

DisappointingI've just bought this as a Gadget and its performance is disappointing to say the least. As a stand-alone app it works as it describes in the app description. However, within Gadget (which is where I found out about it in the first place) it's a much reduced, laggy app with a horrible interface. There are no chaos pads and the arpeggiator is all but impossible to control. Gadget has needed an arp app for ages which is why I bought this, but it's almost unusable with Gadget. Very disappointing. Needs a re-considered UI. Bad..Version: 1.0.0

No AUV3 = 2 starsGreat synth like most korg synths, but no auv3 is a bad decision. Once `auv3 is added I’ll update my rating to 5 stars.Version: 1.0.6

Great sound but lack of basic capabilities kill the appUnfortunately the app doesn’t get used due to lack of basic Midi functionality. No Midi program changes, no assignable Midi cc or Midi learn or Midi clock sync in. These omission along deem the app useless as a professional performance synth. Sharing or exporting sounds is also a basic function of iOS synth apps. Purchased a new iPad Pro and cannot get my programmed sounds from the old iPad Air 2 to my new one..Version: 1.0.4

AU supportI’ve bought all the Korg reproductions available on iPad including a fully loaded Gadget & fully loaded module pro. Looking back I’ve wasted a lot of money on them. I can’t get them to work along side other apps. Just bought Sand & they don’t show up in it either. Such a waste. Don’t bother buying these because u can’t really get to use them properly. What a pity..Version: 1.0.6

NO AUv3 SUPPORTCome on Korg this is ridiculous!!!! It’s been how many years now? I deleted Gadget because this. Gadget was born on iOS yet you give the flexibility to desktop only. I never bought the desktop version because of your shady business dealings on iOS. I spent over $200 on your iOS products. To access gadgets on desktop, to put in your personal daw, is $200. Over it..Version: 1.0.6

Great sound!Great sound but no way of recording or sharing your creations?! What gives?!!!.Version: 1.0.1

It sounds great but..The controls are too small to adjust parameters precisely. I cannot find midi implementation chart, not in manual and can not find on website. It really needs finer control on user interface of oscillator pitches and filter. There’s loads of room on screen. Either have “pop up bigger” sliders or do some maths on distance finger moves, rather than a 1:1 finger move distance to value ratio, half it. Or a zoomable interface.. or additional pages with bigger sliders.. the mini keys waste space, there’s a bigger pop up key board.. this seems stupid. Every single slider could be at lest twice the current size if both keyboards dropped out. Style over function is the problem. Fantastic sound modelling, but poor user interface if you like to program sounds. and there’s no clock sync..Version: 1.0.4

No au????Seriously, this app sounds good but needs to be updated to work as an AU. Inter app audio is rubbish, it’s a synth and everyone wants to use it in their daw as an audio unit. Almost £30 on this and it can’t do what even free synths do. Korg need to do some work. Would be great if it was an au.Version: 1.0.5

Hmmmmmm🫤😑Really Korg 😒 so please someone explain to me exactly why this is not auv3 yet 😔.Version: 1.0.6

Please AUV3 supportThis is a great app. However can you please add AUV3 support like you did for Module. It would make the app so much more useful for us on the go producers. Thanks.Version: 1.0.5

NO AUv3 = crippled appI’m baffled that so much love could go into a sound engine without making it accessible to a standard being used by all the contemporary hosting apps on iPad. Begging you for comparability KORG!.Version: 1.0.3
