✓ Good game but with a balance issue.This game is an enjoyable experience with friends, despite the occasional technical difficulties. However, I don’t like the current prestige system. There are too few reliable ways to reduce another player’s prestige and too many reliable sources of prestige. This makes getting prestige then stalling the game a reliable strategy that ruins the fun, in my opinion. Though it can bring exciting close calls, a large portion of the time, in my experience, it is near impossible to win against a high prestige player once the king is low enough on health. Though I ramble a lot about this, it is still a great game that I still recommend trying..Version: v1.10
✓ Great game, let down by business modelThe iOS port of Armello is probably one of the best games that i’ve played on my tablet so far and faithfully recreates the PC experience. There are however a few notable flaws, the first is that due to the performance requirements involved in running the game it drains battery like crazy, the second is that the game uses a lootbox microtransaction system for it’s cosmetics something which is hotly debated in the industry at the moment and won’t be an issue for everybody. Personally I would much rather the option to outright buy everything on offer and not have to rely on what is effectively gambling..Version: v1.7
✓ Problem please help.This game seems wonderful. Though when I downloaded the game and tapped the icon, suddenly it said that this game didn’t support me iPad. ✓ Game needs fixsThis game needs a lot of work. I am not sure what is going on but i think its ridiculous your playing a online game and your give 15 secs to do your turn which gets difficult to do when you are lagging to put one card to be equipped yet i have seen people given 50 secs. It makes no sense. I had a turn were i just equipped something and my turn ended. Like really i havent done anything. To search a online game takes forever to find 1 person that people leave just to see if they get better luck in another lobby. There is also points where it looks like the game picks a favorite to have everything go well for them. To the point where one game he rolled his 9 dice and had no equipment but ended up having 8 attack dice and 8 defense dice. Or another time where he got like 14 attack because he kept getting one dice that would explode count as a attack dice and roll a free dice. Yea the chances for both must be amazing..Version: v1.9

✓ Why doesn’t it work??!!I have an IPad mini with the latest iOS. When I open the game it says “Sorry! Your device is not supported. Please check the App Store page for a list of supported devices.” So, I did. It said, under compatibility, “Works with this device”. If this is the case then I don’t understand why it won’t open. ✓ Worth fixingThis is a beautiful game with lots of options and subtleties to it. It’s worth playing and a nice, smooth experience with only a few touch based issues which taught me to be very careful with my gestures. Just zooming in and out can make you accidentally move to a wrong location. Other people have pointed it out and you need to keep this in mind as every choice is important in this game. My biggest reason for this not being 4 or even 5 stars is the Challenges. Completing these challenges should grant rewards that can be saved to unlock content but the third column doesn’t function at all. After spending hours working towards them it was extremely frustrating to not see them unlock. And these challenges aren’t unlocking huge amounts of in game currency so it is extra annoying when even that little bit is denied. Fix this problem and I’ll happily increase my rating. Even with this bug and the speed at which this game drains my battery I still feel it is worth at least 3 stars..Version: v1.9
✓ Loot box in game micro transaction system..This game uses an in game loot box system which costs real money. Sorry but this system is just not agreed among gamers even in triple A titles so why they think it’s suitable in a mobile game I don’t understand. I see this system I uninstall a game it’s just greedy and a scam. I understand it’s a business and they need to make money but they’re better ways to do this than promoting gambling especially if younger children are playing the last thing you wanting to be doing is promoting gambling. ✓ It’s fun, but buggyI downloaded this game when it was promoted on the app store for International Women’s Day 2019. I like the turn-based board game feel, but now that I’ve played this game for a bit I’m disappointed. I’ve succeeded the qualifications of several achievements, but I’m not getting credit for them. Instead they remain locked on the achievements screen. I’ve sent several bug tickets in, but I didn’t receive any response about if it was received or not. In the game it suggests posting screenshots to a forum, but when I follow the link, the forums don’t exist. So I sent an additional email to their contact address, along with screenshots, to no response. TBH I’m really disappointed, and while initially I was considering BUYING the desktop games, I no longer think that it’s worth the money to invest in a game that the developers don’t care to fix. So expect this mobile game to be entertaining enough to pass time, but not worth your money to upgrade to the full desktop version, because your satisfaction and input isn’t worth their time to improve..Version: v1.10
✓ Looks fun... but isn’t.Honestly was excited about this, I love strategy games. To bad there isn’t really any strategy involved, it’s pretty much decided on a dice roll. Oh, but if you want you can pay a ton of money to get prettier dice, I guess. The gameplay itself is lacking, but I think the bugs take from 2-3 to a 1-star. Get ready for the game to skip your turn, move you into a space you didn’t want while trying to move the camera (which I suppose isn’t a bug, just a design flaw), text to appear behind buttons (say, quests appearing below the confirmation button), and the game glitching when you open a loot box and giving you nothing. ✓ Progress is brokenGreat game, lots of fun, and I’ve played it more than I should. I stopped playing for most of a year, and when I returned, all of my achievements and “purchases” were deleted. (In-game currency purchases, not my own money, otherwise I’d be a bit furious). I still have most of the dice I had previously collected, but not all of them. The “restore purchases” button did nothing. Really annoying to have all of that progress wiped. Additionally, now most of the achievements simply don’t register, even if you fulfil the requirements for them, which makes it even harder to earn back the progress I lost. From reading around, this seems like a common issue with the iOS version, and it really needs to be fixed. These bugs are killing any desire I have to spend time or money on an otherwise fantastic game..Version: v1.10

✓ Pretty game, but poor supportThe game is beautiful, though I think the strategy is not as deep as is implied. Here’s the problem. After I finished the prologue, a screen popped up offering an introductory offer. The offer was 1200 shards and a hero for $2.99. The deal was described as “70% off”. I rarely pay for games, but this one seemed promising, so I bought it. What I got was a hero and 80 shards. Could I have misread the ad? It’s possible. But there doesn't seem to be a way to bring up the ad to check. Also, since 1200 shards is regularly priced at $9.99, $2.99 checks out as 70% off. (The hero’s are bought with game currency, so the 70% off can’t be applied to the hero). The company’s forums already had the exact same complaint from another user. One dev said, “That’s strange. Email me and we’ll fix it.” Then another dev said, “Actually the welcome offer is only 80 shards.” I asked for her to explain the discrepancies or at least post a pic of the ad, but got no response. I submitted a bug report and got no response. I emailed the dev and got no response. The game is pretty good. The intro offer is either bugged or unacceptably misleading. ✓ Such a good game, BUT…I love this game. I’ve had it for a good couple of years, and it seemed for a long time like I was never going to get bored of it. BUT the amount of grinding required to get new characters has just worn me out. I’m playing games purely to try and eek out 30-50 coins at a time, hoping to save the three THOUSAND it will take me to unlock ONE new character. That could be 100 games! I’ve been playing for two years, and I’ve unlocked two characters beyond the base set. One new character per year is just not going to cut it any more. If there was an option to pay £20-30 and just unlock all the characters I would gladly take it, but I’ve come to the realisation that only having six characters to play with isn’t going to keep me interested for the year it’s going to take me to unlock another one..Version: v1.10

✓ App gives error that device isn’t supported but app store says it isI’ve played Armello on Pc and went to try it on my iPad but attempting to run it gives an error that my device is not supported and to check the app store. However the app store says my device is compatible with the game. Obviously I can’t recommend an app that can’t even reliably agree with its page on what the requirements are to run it. Hopefully this will eventually get fixed since the PC version was otherwise pretty good. Update: Just briefly responding to the developer reply, I completely understand that not every device will always be supported for every app. However shifting the blame to Apple for the app’s store page device filter saying that the app is compatible is something the developers need to handle with Apple. Simply put if the filter says it is compatible and allows you to buy and install a game then the game should work, period. No qualifiers, no footnotes, no ifs ands or buts. It’s an important safeguard to prevent consumers from purchasing things that don’t work. So I won’t change my rating until either the developers update their store page filter to not allow the game to be installed on devices the app doesn’t support or they need to support the devices they set the page to allow users buy and install it. I simply can’t give anything above one star to apps that can be purchased and installed but which don’t run no matter what the rationale..Version: v1.7

✓ Overview (Tutorial Review)I like the game so far just from the tutorial, it’s complex, but not too hard. From looking at the starting screen after the tutorial, there is a multiplayer, which many games don’t have a multiplayer for four. Also with it’s diverse characters and routes to win, I feel like I would play this game for a while. However, I just do wish there would be better camera manipulation, cause some cards rely on the map, and the map would just zoom out to the clouds, not really allowing an overview of the map. Other than the camera, I do like this game, maybe this game is easier on the computer, but I would like to try the mobile one since it’s free compared to the computer’s version of 20 dollars. ✓ A good game plagued with problemsFirst off, this a good game, not great. Given that and without the problems I’d rate it 4 stars, which isn’t bad. However, I have had crashes in game and even loading to opening screen issues non-stop since I started playing it. I also cannot ever find enough players (only 4) to do a multi-player game in my time-zone (Japan), except once, which was dumped when I received a call from my father during startup of the match and waved him away after a minute or so. It is. Amazingly easy to win solo games when you learn how. The AI on solo is not random so much, but what AI is? While it should make the match more difficult, which it does I suppose in its own way, it also makes it more predictable. If you can learn to adapt and see which path leads to victory, you should win at least 4 of every 5 matches or even 9 of 10. I’d like to play a match now but it won’t atm. ~sigh~ Maybe 2 stars is too much, reading what I wrote. No. I still enjoy playing it. Maybe because it is so easy..Version: v1.9

✓ Great... but needs work. Buggy.Love this game. Played for months on Steam - at level 78 currently. So I was really excited for Armelllo on iOS so I could play on my iPad Pro (10.5) when out and about. The current state of this game on iOS certainly needs work. It is buggy and there are constant issues. The prologue won’t even start for me, if you leave the multi player search screen and go back it will kick you out of the que. If you are playing a multiplayer game and a notification or call comes in and you switch to it to deal with it quickly once you go back to the game it will lose network connectivity and kick you out of the game. Along with other minor glitches. If you can deal with some annoyances I can recommend this game whole heartily. If not wait for some fixes..Version: v1.8
✓ UnbalancedFirst, the game looks good and feels great but thats not something that makes a game good. The characters are a bit unbalanced, not in them selves but in there ability to achieve there own personal goals and victories. Personally i feel that the wolf and rabbit have a huge advantage, as the game becomes about getting the more prestige and not completing quests as weaker characters are usually killed before they can get to the objectives. Once you get the hang of it this does get easier. Second, if you play single player the AIs mostly just go after you. Focusing most of their efforts and resources on making the match more challenging for you. Its not a bad game but honestly needs an overhaul on balancing characters and objectives (ex/ its almost impossible to get rot victory you play a custom game, as it all have to do with chance) Also get rid of the chance of getting a bane when searching a dungeon. Its way to frequent. Also i noticed ( and tested) if your objective is next to a dungeon and you walk over it, 9/10 it will spawn a bane!!!!! Thats annoying. I really love the turn based strategy style, however the game turns out to be more about chance than skill. If they could adjust some things this would be a five star game..Version: v1.9

After multiple attempts I stopped trying I looked up the challenge today and found that the challenge was no longer there and I have not Ben credited with winnings. I had to terminate the app and restart it to continue. Now I am supposed to drag a False Orders card onto a Southbank guard, but the tutorial prevents me from scrolling the map to make Southbank visible! ✓ No overview of boardI played this on Steam when first released and forgot why I didn’t continue to play. This is a board game where you are forced to play zoomed in to a small area of the board. It is not possible to zoom out and get an overview of the whole board to efficiently work out a strategy. It’s an odd design decision forcing you to scroll around a lot and generally feel disorientated and frustrated in trying to get all the information you need to plan your move. I would understand this more if you were limited in how far your character could see across the board but this isn’t the case. It’s just made awkward to see all the information available to you. It is possible to zoom out slightly to a view which could potentially be more helpful but this is bizarrely blurred out making it a struggle to make things out and unpleasant to look at. I understand from the Steam forums these are deliberate design decisions made by the devs but their arguments don’t add up to me. I really think they need to look at this again, it seems to alienate a lot of people from an otherwise very promising looking game..Version: v1.8

✓ No rejoin feature, very buggyThe game is great but marred by bugs and a lack of a rejoin feature. Disconnects do just happen from time to time and that’s fine, I’m ok with servers not being great 100% of the time, but being unable to rejoin the game when this happens means that my friends and I have just given up on this. You can’t ship a game that takes 30-60 mins to play and not account for stuff like this. Googling around found that the devs have acknowledged this issue but are unwilling to develop the feature so that’s it for me I guess :(.Version: v1.10
✓ BetterFun game, or would be if I had more than 15 seconds to think about what I wanted to do or read any of the text in front of me. There’s no option to change this timer in multiplayer, and whenever you try to zoom out to see the whole board you get an annoying FOG that obscures the entire view, a horrible design choice for a digital board game. I understand that this is “free to play” (or at least try to play) but that doesn’t excuse the fact that All challenges are broken (and thus impossible to earn the in-game currency of gems). Finally, I mentioned the difficulty in trying to play this game: you have to dedicate ~40 mins to being in the same location to actually finish a game, as there doesn’t seem to have been any work at all put into allowing for your phone’s data connection to transition from wi-fi to cellular data. If you lose connection for even an instant (including getting a phone call when you are about to win), you get immediately booted from the multiplayer game and replaced with an AI player. “Frustrating” doesn’t even begin to describe this experience. Summary: Skip this game. Too many ios issues and poor design choices. If you’re going to play it regardless, then don’t do it through this app; get it on another platform..Version: v1.10
✓ Performance letdown on iPhone 6This game looks great and the sound is cool, but the performance is terrible! Having to press three or four times for each tile move until the game decides to respond is not my idea of a happy experience. ✓ One of the Best Free-to-Play GamesReally great value: no ads, no obtrusive IAP, no coercion via push notifications: this is the way I’d love to see more F2P games. To be honest, I would have been happy to pay a couple of dollars for this game anyway, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was free. This is a very good mobile adaptation of the game, and it offers expansions and cosmetic changes as well. That said, as this is a faithful port of the game, the same problems that plagued the other versions of this game remain. First, Prestige Victory is the only real way to win, as the other routes to success are too unreliable. Second, the combination of both dice and cards means that luck is a considerable factor in turn-to-turn success. Even the best strategy can get derailed if you roll poorly. Last, many of the cards and equipment items are either too situational (like the Lantern) or so lackluster that they never see play (like the starting rings). Overall, it’s still a fun game, but the depth and strategy implied by all of the characters and decks turns out to be more smoke than fire. EDIT: I have seen several threads about Rot Victory being unnecessarily difficult, and having done some testing, it is clear that AI opponents will deliberately force a game to end early (either by killing the King, or wounding him) even when doing so would cause the AI to lose. The Developers have stated that this is intentional, which I think is cruel. 1/5 stars.Version: v1.8
✓ CompatibilityThis game seems from all the reviews to be a real success. 1 sad note though is that I downloaded the app on my iPad mini 2 air and it said not compatible, all I ask of you is to hopefully make it compatible with this device. Thank you <3.Version: v1.6
