As a last ditch attempt I used stars to buy another guitar figuring maybe I just bought the wrong one… nope. ✓ What happened to the old songs?Part of the real charm of this game was the fact that the makers didn’t have copyright permission to use real songs so everything from the song title to the melody was changed enough to not risk infringement but still be recognizable. ✓ Terrible with major flaw.After installing and opening the game, you are prompted with a tutorial (as the usual with most game) except the problem with this one is, you cannot see the notes! The very first note that you must press shows up, pauses the game to tell you to press it, then the game continues but without any of the other notes showing up. Not only did the notes not show up, but the timer up top ran out and didn’t stop the game at all. The game kept going and going. You simply cannot even get passed the tutorial because the MAIN feature of the game is missing. That’s quite unfortunate..Version: 1.6.6

I’ve been on stage 5 with 1994 disks (6 away for stage 6) and it went down hill. Lost every game and maybe won 3 and now I’m at 1846 disks. I even perfect songs and still it’s a loss cause other players have better gear or higher band mates. I also noticed that opponents start getting points before the match starts. WFT?! You lose and you get no cash to level up. I have to wait to get free cash to do something. I actually spent $4.99 for ad free, gold and cash. Never again. I also do not like the option to lower the skill level on songs for battling other bands. Update - it does look like an attempt was made to fix bugs, but they are not completely gone. ✓ Ummm.. mixed emotionsOkay... This game is very addictive and I love it so much. But there are many many flaws! To start the number one concern and honestly kind of scares me, is that the game has some sort of access to my camera roll Because in the game there is a little logo by your band name that you could to create. Now whenever I click “ready” to start a game a picture of me that I took on the beach pops up onto the logo. I never remembered the game asking me for access to my camera roll... and even if it did I still would have said no. Because this game doesn't need that kind of information. ✓ Horrible gameThis game is horribly made half the time when I press the right chord at the right time it says I missed or didn’t hit it. When you have to hold the chord I do and halfway through it says I missed it or let go of it when my finger are still on and if there’s a chord and the right and I hit it it says I missed on the left which makes no sense. Also there is no way that you are up against real people because if you slow it down and you opponent doesn’t you still finish at the same time or the other way around. You have to press two chords at the same time for some of the levels but it doesn’t let me do that if I press them at the right time at the same time it says I either missed one or I missed both which is dumb because how else are you going to win and sometimes it randomly says I missed even if there’s nothing to be played. ✓ Amazing but…As the caption says its is an amazing game, concept mwah chefs kiss game play is the exact same my only issues are 1. Some parts of certain difficulties on certain songs are extremely difficult and near impossible if not impossible 2. When in versus you and the other player, play the same song though both players can be on two separate difficulties I'm assuming based on how skilled they are. My issue here is sometimes it overestimates your skill and gives you a pro, fast paced song will they get the same fast paced song only relaxed and with less buttons to press making it extremely unfair and its all because the game assumes one player is better when its not always the case..Version: 3.6.0

✓ RiggedThis is a decent game. The gameplay is nice, the adjustments to the songs aren’t a problem and I even find myself humming these versions throughout the day. The big problem with this game is the difficulty as levels increase. Once you hit 2000 discs you transition from medium to hard automatically. Not a problem because practice does help. The issue is that as you move up in the battle mode it gets to the point where missing one note will cost you the match every single time. On the flip side, you get a perfect and check the score and your opponent isn’t anywhere near you. I also doubt that these are live matches because a) a match is found immediately every time and b) your opponents seem to use all their boosts each time and at about the exact same time in each song. I’ve also had big leads heading into the last ten seconds of the song as opponents starting compiling points in extremely large chunks and end up beating me. Also, what’s the deal with your perfect calculator? If my opponent beats me and I get a perfect, the bonus always says 10% but it’s always just enough to win. I would recommend this game, just be ready to be frustrated in the later levels. Patience is a virtue I guess. It is also totally worth it to make a small purchase to eliminate the ads. Especially because they run that stupid sniper ad and sometimes my young son is watching over my shoulder..Version: 1.6.6
✓ New User, First Impressions.This is a fun game so far. It almost scratches the Rock Band / Guitar Hero itch. Which is a lot better than I expected from a cellphone game. I love the band management aspect where your equipment and band mate level affects the score. However, the game does regularly force you to watch Ads without asking first. Thankfully the cost to remove those kinds of Ads is under $5. I did have a problem in the store though. I made a purchase taking advantage of the Sunday double stars event and expected 160 stars and no Ads from that point forward. It was never applied to my account. The moment I downloaded and stared playing this I immediately thought that it wasn’t it gonna be as good as I thought it would, and I was right. First off, this is a rhythm game but there’s barely any “rhythm”, most of the notes aren’t even in time. The notes are very confusing, especially the long ones. It’d be better if you made it clearer to recognize which note is which. Second, I hate the fact that it makes absolutely no noise when you press a note, it just doesn’t feel right. Third, after you press a note, they don’t disappear which is very confusing since I won’t know if it was a miss or if I hit it in time. ✓ Please fix your glitches.The app constantly crashes for me. Whenever I’m in a battle the app will crash half way through and then I lose everything. Also if it shows me an ad right before a battle the sound will crash on the game during the battle and I have to close out the app to get the sound back. Half the ads also don’t let you ex out of them. The only way to get out of them is to then close out the game altogether. ✓ Decent game, can’t stand the songsThe game works well enough, but the songs are all bastardized versions of actual songs, and they’re really bad. They are messed with so much that most of them shouldn’t even be able to be called songs at all. I can’t stand listening to them for very long. Also, there’s no rhythm adjustments or any other useful settings to help the app to perform better on the device you’re using. The characters you can pick for your bandmates are cliche and uninspired; the same goes for all the guitars. I guess for the casual gamer this game must seem pretty good, but as a musician and a gamer, I can’t stop cringing. ✓ USED to be a great gameThis game USED to be great until they changed the notes to colored notes. Ever since they changed the look to look more like their competitor— every single time you touch a note, the fret board MOVES. It makes me soooo sick to my stomach. To clarify, when you actually hit a note on time, the board shakes just as if you missed that note— perhaps, a little less than if you missed, but it still is a very noticeable shake on the fret board. This is very very annoying. If I don’t miss a note, that board shouldn’t shake as if I missed the note. Change this back to being SMOOTH when you do good.. and I’ll be back. ✓ Used to be funThe game used to be fun. Now there’s ads after every song, even if it’s just practice. The buttons are either delayed or just not functional at all in some cases. People who are have lower level guitarists, bassists, singers, etc can still gain more points per button. I could have a perfect game and have more upgrades but oh they still get 300 above me. The games best ratings are from a year ago, becoming irrelevant, and fast, if it already isn’t. Just fix the ad revenue and point system. Make the buttons a little different too.
