Bose® Hear for Negative User Reviews

Love/Hate relationshipThey defiantly work for hearing enhancement, I just can’t seem to get over constantly trying to adjust them for differing conditions. The App is slow to respond to hook up and sometimes won’t , yet my phone says they are connected, frustrating when your having trouble hearing and can’t immediately adjust the controls. Never like something in my ears but these are tolerable and getting better. Battery life could be a little longer, won’t last all day. I am going to call support to see if they can help me fine tune these things. Not very wearable on a boat as wind noise is an issue. I’m 50/50 right now about keeping them..Version: 1.5.0

DisappointingI was very excited for these hearing aids, I’ve always thought Bose was top of the line for sound quality. I already had Hearglow hearing aids but there is quite a lot of feedback with them so when I saw that Bose made hearing aids I thought they would be a much better quality. They were almost double the cost but I can’t hear nearly as well with them. The volume doesn’t go very high and although it’s better than wearing no aid at all I still have a lot of difficulty hearing with these in. I bought them quite a while ago but because the Hearglow worked so much better for me I didn’t use them regularly until just a couple of days ago when there was an accident with the others and I had no choice. The Bose hearing aids do have more features, but they’re features that don’t really make a difference to me as far as being able to hear better. Adjusting the treble doesn’t seem to help and although being able to mute them is kind of cool- I’ve never needed to mute them. I’m not writing this review to be a jerk, I genuinely hope the feedback will help make some good improvements if new models are designed. I am disappointed with this purchase and feel like the only thing a higher price tag got me was a name brand. There’s definitely room for improvement and I hope a lot of improvements are made..Version: 3.0.7

Pas pour Bose 700L’application voit très bien les QC35II mais pas le 700... Dommage.Version: 1.5.3

Could be improvedThe app allows access to functions that can't be controlled from the Hearphones. When it works, it's great (although slow to start up) but at least once a day I get an error message that it can't connect to them - even when they're on (not off or charging) and at 80% battery power..Version: 1.4.0

Very unreliable appWhen it first came out, the app was very reliable. Put in the batteries and the device connected immediately. Now I guess the “updated” it. One can never get it to work the first, second or third time. Finally deleted the app, deleted the device from the bluetooth list and hoping that reinstalling may do the trick. Good example of “leave it if it’s not broken”. The UI is still clunky and in the same state as the first release. So what did they actually accomplish is the question- other than completely screwing the usability..Version: 2.1.0

SoundControl Hearing Aid DisappointmentI’ve owned Bose Hearphones since they came out, and I bought them for my son, also. I’ve recommended them to my friends and several have bought them. The work amazingly well, especially for the price. The ability to narrow the audio field in a noisy environment makes a big difference. So, I was excited when Bose received FDA approval for OTC hearing aids. Finally, we are going to get useful features, like compression and a graphic equalizer. But, the debut has been delayed for over a year. Now, the SoundControl aids are in limited availability. What a disappointment!! They are just hearing amplifiers, of the kind you can buy for $150 each. Or less. They don’t stream music or phone calls. They don’t have the narrowest focus setting of the HearPhones, only front and “everywhere”. They apparently don’t have compression. They don’t claim echo cancellation or multiple programs for different acoustic situations. (The specs are very brief.) Not only that, but Bose discontinued the HearPhones a year ago. So, in my opinion, Bose is just ripping off the old people again, like everyone else. Apparently the hearing aid cartel made a deal. Again. I really wish Apple would enter this market. They have all the necessary technology. It’s a big opportunity, if only someone had the determination to break the cartel. Fat chance, it seems..Version: 2.0.2

Not what I thoughtI purchased the BOSE Hearphones and I also downloaded the app. I do not get the quality of the BOSE sound when listening to TV or listening to conversations. Too much treble and humming. When I speak I can hear myself very loud. I have been playing with the world volume and treble and bass levels but can’t find the sound I am accustomed to with BOSE. The music plays well. Lots of money and not as happy as I usually am with my BOSE other purchases. These however are great hearing aids for those who need them in this manner..Version: 1.2.4

Quit connecting to appUnits worked great for the first couple months. Now I have to re set the units, wipe them off of my iPhone Bluetooth and then restart from beginning!! It is a daily or multiple time daily to get to connect. When they do work, you have to follow a specific connect process, if not, you have to start from beginning!!! Very frustrating, definitely not up to past Bose quality….Version: 2.2.3

Doesn’t reliably connectThis app has problems connecting through Bluetooth to the ear phones. I don’t understand why it is so difficult. I can be playing music through the earphones and then try to connect the Bose hear app and it won’t connect. Now, why is that? If the music app can connect, then why can’t the Bose hear app connect? Can’t the Bose Hear app just look at what the music app is doing and then use that channel? It is annoying when I am listening to music through the earphones from the iPhone and then the Bose hear app tells me to make sure that the earphones are turned on. Also, sometimes it just won’t connect at all. The music app can’t find the earphones and neither can the Bose Hear app. So I tell the iPhone to forget the Bose Hear app and then try to pair. Often, that does not work either. And so what I have to do is delete the Bose Hear app and then reinstall it. So far, that has always worked. But, it is an annoying five minute delay to whatever I am doing. I have to do this about once every month or two..Version: 1.5.2
