✓ AmazedAbsolutely fantastic game has the perfect balance between purchases and free to play. Unlike many games there is no energy level in terms of how long you can play for before you have to wait to play again. Also has a very surprising fact in that you get free silver and gold (in game currency) with a huge amount being given after a few days. It’s brilliant as there is no requirement for any real cash payments to play the game whilst having the opportunity of purchasing items with real money if you wish. One is for some reason without even losing any health, my officer will retreat and run halfway across the battlefield? And secondly just after I’ve gotta used to the kick of the weapons, which has increased quite considerably after the update before, they make it even worse. Wish they’d add an upgrade to make recoil better, or just put it back to the way it was. The Stub Gun is nearly impossible to use, and that’s the direction that the machine gun is headed as well! ✓ Great game but few suggestionsThe game was great I love the combat and style of the campaign the combat feels so flexible and gives you many styles of gameplay. But I wish I could pick the armor I got or army/action cards I got. The way the campaign works is unique for a shooter game and it provides a less mindless part of a shooter game a thing shooter games usally fail at. But the one problem I have with this is the earth shaker canon Bc it punishes you for being good at the game say your totally dominant of the ai no one wants to lose Bc they just never die Bc you can be destroying the enemy and Bc of that the earth shaker canon comes in and ruins the fun it’s more of a scapegoat for the worse players of the game but then bite the people who are good in the ankles.CbbdgVersion: 2.0.6

✓ Good Game; Some Let-DownsI’ve played the game for several months, and I’ve finally completed the campaign on hard mode, collecting all chests as well. I’ll be honest, I was looking forward to a final journal entry, but there was no victory message or anything congratulating me I completed the campaign; let alone an epilogue detailing how the Nobleman goes back to see his family or earns recognition for winning the last battle against the United Corporations. That said, the storyline was good and I looked forward to reading each entry. The world building, whether it be through levels or officer blurbs, was interesting to read. There were a few technical issues I found bothersome, like the pop-up, but airplane mode solved that. Another issue was my phone overheating with higher quality settings, particularly when using Tesla weapons. I am on an iPhone 10 so it is odd it performed like that, but even the low quality textures serve their purpose and work in a good manner for their quality. The gameplay can get a little repetitive, especially with unlocks and upgrades taking a long time (particularly unlocking nobleman guns, levelling up the player level). I used my gold to get early unlocks for multiple units, and while it was free, it felt like a long grind to complete it. Hit registry was also wonky at times, with maybe 5% of the bullets that should have hit the target go through my enemy and do no damage. I lost a few battles due to my scoped rifle bullets going through the enemy nobleman who was shooting me. For very hard levels, if you play, I’ll give you a tip. If you close out of the app right when you die and reopen it, you can retry the battle. Some levels, even using better bullets and higher tier guns, were almost impossible, with some leading to me surrendering and letting the battle finish with my death and the standard gear. The worst battles usually involved heavy weapons and the open plains on the wavy grass level. Overall, I’d say this app was a cool way to kill time, and it always found ways to impress, but some time and graphics issues, as well as a sharp difficulty ramp, made it tedious to complete the campaign and unlock all troops. While I did not finish the entire game (I lack two of the guns and I haven’t completed the top tier of skirmish mode), I think I have played enough to give a fair analysis of the campaign mode and some of the issues I encountered along the way, as well as appreciation for some of the more beautiful aspects of the game..CrazyKing54Version: 2.0.8

✓ One of if not the best game available for iOSI've played some great mobile games on the App Store for 5 years now- from Clash of Clans to Hearthstone to Summoners War to BTDB to World of Tanks to Vainglory to Clash Royale. All had a pay to win component, but all had outstanding gameplay that was unique to mobile genre and are pay to speed up progress, but not absurdly overly pay to win. I'd add Noblemen 1996 to that list of best mobile games without a doubt. It's not overly pay to win (just pay to speed up progress), is very unique with both an arcade-like shooter incorporated and strategic turn based gameplay with mechanics found in rts games. Easily one of the best games out there on the App Store and definitely work downloading. Some things that would be cool in the future: a hearthstone-arena-like mode (draft cards and battle with them) and a live multiplayer game would be really cool (vs current attacking vs ai defending skirmish battles)..EndlessKARMAVersion: 1.0.5

Anyways... with the recent update, the game has become much more smooth in terms of performance to battery use... it has dropped less frames... and battery saver does, really, really save your battery. Currently graphics have not really changed except for the "Battery Saver" mode, and controls have stated the same. It's more of a stability and performance update, mostly fixing major bugs and errors, and also improving the battery life of your phone... Current things that do need to be fixed are the difficulties of getting silver, better controls (they could be better), and also the inclusion of (maybe) a 1v1 multiplayer mode online... although highly doubt it... anyways... good update, amazing game, 101% recommended.... totally worth the space....Random11boyVersion: 1.0.6

Crouching, crouching is something that would be very nice to have in hard mode, so you don’t feel so exposed. 2. Multiplayer, adding more multiplayer elements would greatly increase the playability, content, and player base of this game. Multiplayer campaigns, coop campaigns, and 2v2 campaigns would be the awesomest thing ever. 3. Adding the ability to become one of your troops, to enter, for example, a militia, and the rest of the unit would follow you. 4. Adding fortifications, like trenches, or bunkers being on the battlefield and being able to go inside them. You would be able to use war points on a piece of land and add trenches or , for example, a watchtower or something. It's a bit tricky and annoying at first when you start out, but over time it's a little easier as you go along. There are some bugs here and there, but not enough to stop me from playing. I've enjoyed it so far. The campaign is interesting (especially with the War Journal). The skirmishes are so random that can be fun and frustrating depending on the units. I like the concept of commanding your troops while also being involved in the battle as your own character of sorts. I feel it could be updated more frequently, but when it does get updated, they are massive. If this game could be opened up to multiplayer, it would get so many more players. ✓ The best game I’ve ever played.Noblemen: 1896 takes place during a second world war, against the US government and the UC, United Corporations. And man, does this game make you feel like you’re truly commanding an army. The two parts of the war campaign, the war board and the actual battles are well designed, though heavy weapons are usually overlooked in open fields and lightly fortified areas, serving best on maps like the bridge. Foursaken Media has really pushed the bar with this, the only cons I can find were the increasing amount of scarcity in your supplies, which is most likely intentional and I mostly actually enjoy that feature and the lack of naval combat, which would be a extremely fine addition to this already masterpiece of a game. The other con I must say is that there are timers in between battles but they’re actually really well placed, serving as timeouts so that the gameplay doesn’t get that dull. With that being said, this review has gone long enough. The strategic map really puts a value on winning each one of the battles and makes the combat portion more meaningful. I have had some gameplay issues with view being blocked due to the 3rd person viewpoint, so being able to switch to first person when aiming would be helpful. I have also had some save restore issues, including one where I recruited a truly awesome officer with a Gatling gun but then lost several hours of gameplay (and the officer) the next day. If you roll and exit before you save, it might not auto save until you log in next time, in which case it will re-roll everything and you’ll be stuck with whatever you get upon opening it back up. I lost 6. Perfect. Legendary. Officers. This way and believe me it was not fun. CONVERSELY It auto saves once every 20 mins on the hour, so if you don’t like what you rolled you can restore your cloud data and restore your purchases to roll again. BE CAREFUL as you have less than 20 mins to re-roll and at each interval it will save whatever you have regardless of wether you like it or not. This is how I managed to get three of them back. Otherwise this is a great game and you won’t regret downloading it. Devs could you please add a volume slider with the next update so we can turn the volume down low but not off to listen to other things but still hear when enemies are firing at us? ✓ Fun but...Noblemen 1896 is probably one of the funnest mobile strategy games out there, the graphics are great for a mobile game and the gameplay is addictive. But one of the things that ruins this game are the bugs, glitches, and lag. Like for example, there are these ads you can watch in exchange for lots of things, ranging from free supply crates, to tech points which you can exchange for troops or upgrades that you can use during a battle. But sometimes my screen will go black after watching an ad and I won’t receive my award. Most of the other problems are pretty minor and can be fixed. ✓ Unique. Strategic. Free.Based off of an alternative Past, Noblemen is truly engaging with a plot following the civil war, a massive plague, and then another civil war of sorts (which is the game). With an intriguing story, the game play is uncontrollably addictive and is completely free to play. In fact, this game has remained on my for the 30 day duration required to receive a massive amount of FREE GOLD, an accomplishment all in itself. Most games on the Strategy Tab for the Apple Store are simply big companies paying Apple to be featured and while likely fun, are very different from ACTUAL STRATEGY games. Noblemen wipes those games' *ss with a silken handkerchief. With Map gameplay, First Person Shooter Elements, the ability to be an Overlord Commanding one's troops, leveling up and unlocking units, and most importantly, a Battle Gameplay that's realistic and actually takes ducking, cover, range, ammunition, weapons, speed, graphics, and the highly sought after PAUSE BUTTON into consideration when being played. 10/10; few games like this exist. I dont know if this glitch is just me or not but every single upgrade for weapons in the store is and only is range upgrades. I havent seen a single upgrade that wasnt for optics for weeks now. Second, the landships window where you can shoot through stop taking damage at one point. Making it impossible to destroy it unless you have some sort of anti armor weapon or unit. ✓ A well-made gameThis is probably the best game for the Action Genre on the apple store in my opinion. It also has that fancy twist of after the Civil War and alternate reality both of which I never thought I’d see 2 years ago when I got this. In this game it’s almost NEVER a pay to win, gold is very accessible and so is silver. The weapons and gear will balance out your gameplay so you don’t need to spend 50$ to get your Ranger Class to level 5. If you do spend money: things in the store are nice and fair. I love how in every game the enemy has the advantage on you so that’s what makes it a great strategy game and why it beats away all the others. The only truly bad thing is the add pop-ups and you’ll see that every so often, but it would be more convenient to have an add when you choose to. I very much dislike that you have to retreat from going into melee with enemies. I would much rather just run away on my own because when I have to retreat just to get out of doing melee, it really ruins the flow of the battle. I also wish you could level up your character just a little faster. Continuing to rise through the Skirmish ranks and levels in the campaign can cause a player to be severely under-leveled, making them have no chance in higher ranks but breeding through anything below it. Many obstacles that look like cover are actually not, and this has caused my death on more than a few occasions. Framerate drops are everywhere, but I’m sure this will be better sooner or later. ✓ Mount and Blade set in WW2Yes, this review is supporting another fellow that did a more detailed review. This game reminds me of Mount and Blade. The ability to be able to control individual squads lets you become more creative and tactical into beating out the odds, such as using melee squads to take out land vehicles while destructing it with other squads such as infantry squad. You can always win if you become tactical and creative to how you play. This game has a cover system, which does much more better than other third person shooter mobile games, each cover has different amounts of protection, for example. Fences are high, but you can still get damage, as it is made out of wood. Sandbags absorb all damage but is very short, so you can get damaged if a enemy gets a good shot at you. Each cover has an advantage and disadvantage. Replying to Soky13 : i don't think you even read the story, your main character was a rich man who decided to go to war because he thinks it's the right thing to do. ✓ I love this game it’s really goodI have been looking for a large scale battle based game where you get to command your troops but also participate in the battles too. Not many games have that the only other game I know is battlefield but that’s not on mobile. I also love that there’s strategic points and resupply points you can capture. I also love that there is a tank that was first introduced durning the Great War but even though It’s not historically correct it’s still a really cool detail. Same thing with the plane they also didn’t introduce those until the Great War but it’s steam punk so who cares. As I’ve been playing for a while, I beat the game, but I’m not one of those people who would go out of their way to get 100% with all the stars and the highest skirmish level, get all the weapons, or achieve the highest levels in the game. ✓ Pretty goodThis is probably one of my favourite games on mobile, but I hate the new update, with massively reduced supplies and huge battle bonuses, I was going up against an army with an attack bonus of 24! That's somewhere around them doing quintuple (x5) their regular damage, and the battle ended in a stalemate where I should have easily won. Also the supplies are now 3 for 5 war points, and that is a horrible deal, make it 5/6, three is just bad value, especially when you're loading up an army to go into enemy territory. I really like the fact the landship use their front gun now though, and the words that pop up when you fire at enemies and get head shots, leg shots, critical etc. Also, make silver rewards when completing already completed missions bigger..AlguymanVersion: 1.0.6

✓ Great game, needs some work with the battle mechanicsMy main complaints fall on the controls of the game during a battle. Not so much with the AI troops. Love how they follow you if you try to move while in shield mode, to make it trickier. However, I way too often find that, even with autoaim off, the reticle sticks to some place when aiming and I can't move at all. I've also encountered a bug where, when retreating from battle, the nobleman hops over the cover he's hiding behind and immediately starts nonstop firing, as if you're holding down the fire button, even though you're not. When this happens, you can turn around, but you cannot do anything else. The nobleman is stuck in place in front of that cover, and stuck constantly firing. PROS (Most Notable) When you start the game, it provides a great tutorial for beginners, as it explains how the game works as a whole in 6 tutorial levels. Lastly and my personal favourite, your Nobleman writes diary entries via the War Journal, with each entry describing life before and during the war, while more entries are available to read as you play the game! CONS (Minor Concerns) For those who want to face other players, there is no PvP mode in this game. It’s mostly single player, with the exception of Survival Mode in which you can play alongside other players via Multiplayer. The AI overall needs some work also. Units should move, react, and adapt based on the situation and environment in real-time during battle more seamlessly and accurately. Each individual unit should have their own AI, not each squad sharing one AI. That way, each unit and squad will behave more life-like during battle. AI should also improve with higher difficulty, which will add an extra layer of challenge for strategists. Late game does require a lot of grinding when upgrading your units, battle cards, officers, etc. (supply crates earned via Skirmish, Survival, Campaign, etc. help offset this issue), so expect to play a good hour or two minimum of constant grinding to maintain steady progress. Collision detection also needs some polishing. Units, even your Nobleman can seamlessly pass through enemy troops, vehicles, or armoured plating on heavy weapons by walking or running through them, as if they’re not there. This is less noticeable when passing through allied units as they have a bit of collision detection. Lastly, some environmental objects also have unrealistic collision detection such as trees found in the forest map. This is noticeable when your Nobleman walks or runs close to one of the affected objects. FINAL VERDICT Overall, this game has got to be one of my favourite strategy games I ever played so far. It doesn’t entirely feel like it was rushed, and it just needs some polishing on certain areas and a new feature or two for it to be nearly perfect. It really does stick to its theme of war strategy, FPS, and epic battles on a large battlefield, while the 1800s setting and historical twist further enriches the user’s experience and in-game atmosphere. Foursaken Media clearly knows how to make games like this work by choosing a theme as its base, and then creating a simple twist to not only enhance the theme, but to make it not seem like the games you’d usually find based on that theme. If I had to choose one game to play to pass time, I would play Noblemen 1896 with no hesitation. Therefore with all that in mind, I would also DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU to play this game if you’re a fan of war, strategy, FPS, and large-scale battles. (This game is so great in fact, I had to shorten my review in some parts, as my draft was actually larger than this review. Character limit prevents me from adding more.) ✓ Needs updateI absolutely love this game, best shooter I can find, with a nice mix of strategy. However, the recent update for survival mode needs work. If I could make some requests: more weapons would be #1. I feel like we need more weapons or a least the ability to add piercing damage to the current guns. The next thing would be to update the survival mode. Every time I enter online matches it kicks or kills the other player unless I’m lucky enough to find someone with a good connection but then it only lasts for about 10 seconds at extremely poor quality before kicking them. I realize it was just released and still needs some work, so I can understand waiting a bit before it works seamlessly. ✓ A Masterpiece!This game is what every other IOS/Android game should strive to be. It has so much content for the users, from hundreds of different units and officers, 4 main classes with 4 different guns that change how you play that class each, a campaign that employs some sort of board-game-ish gameplay and a quick battle mode, a strategic battle mode, and third/first person shooter mode, dozens of maps, etc. I personally love the Civil War-WW1-Steampunk-futuristic style that this game accomplishes, and it accomplishes it perfectly. The graphics are also amazing for a mobile device, and mine can run the game at decent settings with decent FPS. The strategy that you use in each match changes with the units you use, the units the enemy uses and your available loadouts and guns. The game also encourages you, not forces you, to change setups quite often. For example, you can take down steam carriages much easier with the anti-armor loadout, but that doesn't stop you from taking them down with the support or the standard loadout, it just makes you aim for weaker spots in the armor while also trying to hit the crew members/critical components. Oh yeah, and you can have more than one army/battalion on screen. You can even have up to 3, including the enemy, that's without counting the support units! Good job Foursaken Media! ✓ Such a good game but one or two tweaksI've had this game for about a month or two (not sure cause my 3000 good kept resetting. This is just an accurate guess). I love the new update but the "homescapes" add gets REALLY annoying. I say this add cause it's the most played. One thing that I realized is that some levels on Skirmish are way too hard. For example I have a squad of a Paladin and Rifle Knight and I'm against Milita, Paladins, mortar, Steam Cart, Upper elite and a whitworth gun AND including the hero and officer. Also getting to a support lvl 5 is HARD it should be slightly easier cause I've been using only support for about 3 and a half weeks and I'm only in the middle. The weapons, upgrades, armor, battles, and story to wrap it up into one make this an amazing game. ✓ One of the greatest game I ever playedNoblemen is a great and original game with a great mix of action(3rd person shooter) and strategy. I love the game but here are some things I would like for the creators to do. First is more weapons for all the classes, I have realized that some units has weapons that you don't have such as the Brosnan AP Shotgun. Second is to make it that you get more XP, it takes forever to level up and that is good, such speed up the process a little, maybe you can make it that you get more XP in median mode and the most XP in hard mode. Lastly, the decap card, I hate it especially when one supply port is the intersection for all the supply ports you have. Make it that the only to deactivate a supply port is to have a unit stay on the supply port for 2 turns like how you deactivate a strategic port.
