✓ God damI got stuck on a wall in the tutorial and with no way to go backwards had the most raged induced fit I’ve ever had, I restarted and it took to the start again where it MAKES you do a bunch of ollies and no way to skip. Almost snapped my phone, so after getting through that headache hoping to find some Tony hawk esque game at the end. No. It basically boils down to an on rail game with multiple choice, absolutely terrible.Version: 2.3
✓ Great game, need fixing.On multiple occasions I’m unable to do the tricks in the 6-7-8pm times respective to the trick wheel. When I’m a challenge to do certain tricks in a row, the game glitches and won’t let my pull down on the trick wheel. Though it was my big phone case (I have an iPhone 13mini) but even after taking the case off, I’m still having this problem. The thing is, the trick wheel will fully work for a run or 2, then my next challenge I do I’m unable to pick the tricks on the trick wheel at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm when comparing to a clock. This is for both FRONT and BACK of the board: ie: I can’t do a hard flip or a Nollie hard flip AT ALL and a few other tricks. Fix this and I’ll give 5 stars cause this is seriously frustrating for such a fantastic game. It’s physically unplayable when I’m on the hard flip trick challenge..Version: 5.8

✓ Progress LostI was enjoying Skate City. It’s slick, well presented and fun. However, after getting a decent way through the first set of challenges, all of my progress was gone when I returned to the game. I’ll happily retry the game when it’s more stable, but I don’t want to risk it happening again at the moment..Version: 1.0
✓ Game looks great but...This game is great. Really nice to look at. A lot of care has gone into the backgrounds for sure. But the skate mechanics a very very simple so there’s not a lot of reward for continued play. Updates I would appreciate: - a harder playing difficulty mode - a hold/pop feature so it’s not so easy to pop of legendary spots. So the idea would be the longer you hold the higher you pop. - board-slides / lip-slides & feeble grinds - switch should be more difficult - big gaps and rails should not be so easy. Currently the most challenging gaps for me ate the Barcelona ramp to grass gaps and the LA planter. I could care less about these gaps. Also why does Carlsbad have a piece of wood on it? - being able to just normally play with the different camera angles without having to film. I feel like the fisheye view is a massively under-utilised perspective on the game and all players should be playing this way for maximum enjoyment. - spend more time developing the game play and the variety in levels before spending a year developing backdrops and Christmas jumpers. That was a disappointment. Lightning and rain is cool but it’s a one trick pony. The first time it happened I was impressed and then each time after that I was more and more annoyed by it. I love the aesthetic, I love the basic mechanics - but backdrops and jumps? Come on. You guys definitely have the imagination to make this game crazy good..Version: 2.3

✓ Kind of depressing now that I think about itI haven’t had my meds yet today so who knows, but I want to like it so much more than I do. Should there be a definitive, unit-moving, paradigm-shifting skateboarding game on iOS? You bet. Is this it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Like you can’t even customize your guy or your deck or anything off the bat. You gotta do dumb stuff you already know how to do except arrhythmically to earn space bucks, and is that really all there is to it? If I wanted to move my fingers in one of eight different directions and pretend I was a big boy at the Moving Horizontally To The Right party I could save myself a lot of trouble by just getting a tech deck. If I seem mean it’s only because, like I said, I just want it to be good. I want to love this thing I really do. But I think maybe I just love the idea of it. Good enough for $4.99 a month I GUESS but time is money and I’ve got monsters and creeps to stab in the face and neck babey.Version: 1.0

✓ Good app, needs workI’ve done game testing for a skate app before, I’m not a professional by any means. That being said, I love this game and the way they put it together for the most part. I give it three stars only because the controls lack... control. If you don’t perform the trick in complete perfection then it doesn’t count for your score. The trick bubble is too small for how the areas are set up, I do like a game that is challenging. However when I have to try a simple trick 10x’s over because the development wasn’t tested as much as it should’ve been then it becomes frustrating and not as fun. I don’t want to take away from the developers by any means, I just think they could have taken their time with the opening of this game. I’m hoping to change this to a 5 star as soon as I can. ✓ Disappointing after a while and impossible to upgradeBeat the game pretty quick and whats the point of putting things that are impossible to acquire? Gold trucks? Clothing ? Why keep playing for coins if there aren't enough and since there is zero updates from developers its seems clear that there wont be anymore levels. Its just frustrating that the game its impossible to finish so whats the point of the game?? To play till the end to half finish? Cant think of any game that every single mission/challenge its accomplished and not even half of upgrades are open. And going around the level for endless loops its the most boring monotonous challenge i ever had to finish, specially in a game with glitchy controls. Seriously if i knew that finishing challenges would be pointless i wouldn't even had try. Also some people skate goofy and that is something every skate game has the option to customize. Also no way to change the camera angle. ✓ Please Add A Few FeaturesOverall this is really well made and a lot of fun. Please add overcrooks and feebles. You could do hold top left and top right for overcrook and bottom left and bottom right for feebles or something along those lines. There are a few strange bugs, none are majorly game breaking, but it won't register any grind input if you try to 360 into it, it almost always forces a 50-50, sometimes a slide if you over rotate. Would love to see that fixed, and there seems to be an issue with the character model if filming and you fall while doing a rotation the body bugs out and keeps rotating from the waist up when in the air doing a rotation after the initial fall. This bug only seems to be fixed from closing the app and re-opening. If feebles and overcrooks were added this would be 5-star for sure..Version: 5.7

✓ Good game marred by terrible controlsWell-designed game. The biggest problem is that sometimes it just won’t do the trick that I wanted it to do. Sometimes that even includes just pressing the “kick” button on the bottom right, or even holding it down—and the skater does nothing but stand on his skateboard. Other times I am properly doing the swiping for a particular trick but it simply does not register and the skater just stands still in the middle of a grind and falls. Over time this goes from a minor annoyance to a major irritant, especially as you progress through the game and become better at it. The “buttons” are supposed to be separated by the quarters of your screen (top right, bottom left, etc) but even that is not enough. Your thumb must be in a particular location in whichever quarter you swipe on, which is ridiculous. I notice that your thumb generally must be located more towards the center of the screen to start a trick properly. Considering we’re swiping on smooth flat screens with zero haptic feedback, it is counterintuitive to needlessly make the controls so stubborn by default..Version: 5.8
✓ Great game for the most partI’ve enjoyed the game thoroughly and played most of the levels. However, there are many challenges that simply can’t be done due to poor game design and control. The controls are great at first and they work well for the slower paced challenges. But as soon as it comes to the 30 second challenges, the game just simply can’t respond to my inputs fast enough and this is where bugs are extremely visible. Running on an iPhone XS I really shouldn’t feel held back, so why can’t the game register grinds or slides fast enough to the point where it ruins the game entirely for me. I’ve 3 starred nearly every single level. I can’t physically complete the pedestrians level in Los Angeles. The game just doesn’t respond to inputs at all. Have you collected your level data? ✓ Control optimizationThis game has the potential to be in amazing game. The downfall in this game is that asks for you to be almost perfect in your execution of tricks. As you get further into the game it gets progressively harder and do to the current control system, it gets really really really annoying. The stat system doesn’t feel like it makes a difference for the amount of points you have to spend to buy each bar. I leveled up my balance 3 bars and for some reason the balance is even more sensitive and I fall off easier, I hope they fix this, overall graphic are cool for a mobile game and soundtrack is pretty repetitive but solid for a skate game like this. I’m not saying don’t download, I am saying be ready to put in some hours fine tuning the control experience..Version: 1.3
✓ Great Game But Achievements Are BrokenThis is the one game that persuaded me to subscribe to Apple Arcade and its a great game, the visual style is quite clean looking and the game is pretty easy to understand, the audio is really atmospheric and plays smoothly most of the time, it’s probably the best mobile skateboarding game on mobile devices. However there is a big issue with the achievement for finishing all goals in Miami, after finishing all goals with 3 stars and all challenges in endless skate I received a pop up congratulating me on finishing all goals in Los Angeles and yet the achievement has not popped, I’ve played through the game entirely 3 times in total, 2 times on iPhone 12 and once on iPad Pro so the issue lies within the game. I will bump my score up to a 5 star when this is resolved as I’ve put a lot of time into this game..Version: 2.3

✓ Beautiful, but really buggyThe game itself is beautiful and features some of the most recognizable spots in the skate world. The controls are pretty well done, which I found delightfully surprising. Soundtrack is great as well. On an aesthetic level I find this game very enjoyable. However... When playing the game my phone gets really hot and my battery drains very quickly If I play for more than about 10 minutes the game starts to drop frames, then eventually crashes I’ve fallen through the level geometry multiple times esp. at the small ramp down just before the fountain in Oslo. On a few occasions I have touched the restart button before a race has ended (when I can see clearly that I’m not going to win) but my character did a powerslide past the end flag. My character reset to the beginning of the race, but the game was still in the ‘race end’ state, so maybe a second went by and the screen overlay popped up with the race results, so I had to restart again. Lighting at night makes it nearly impossible to see certain obstacles The AI in the race and security chase challenges seems a bit unstable, making the challenges seem inconsistent and a frustrating in a way that seems unfair to the player. Unfortunately this is a trend in game dev recently. I can see how one or two of these things could slip by. But this game, in it’s current state, is not finished (please see App Store Review Guidelines).Version: 1.9
✓ Beautiful game, but falls shortThe graphics are very nice, colors and art style are this game's highpoints. If everything else matched the game's graphics this would be a 5 star review. The controls leave a lot to be desired while I initially liked how simple it was to swipe and land a trick its inherently frustrating during certain challenges which require specific tricks to be performed where one wrong swipe could end your line. The soundtrack is garbage, listen to your own music if you must and the sfx are generic and not the most pleasant. It's a great game to kill a few minutes with but as a whole gets boring very quickly. Not much replay value but it's decent playthrough. If you're an iPhone gaming veteran and looking for a worthy sequel to skate 3, this is not it..Version: 1.3
✓ Kind of slowI don’t have that much to add. It’s a fine side scrolling skateboarding game with a simple trick system, an endless run mode, and some challenges. The only reason I’m writing this review is because there’s one huge gripe that ruins the whole experience. So here it is: The worst part of skateboarding, in my opinion, is having to constantly push in order to keep moving. I guess the developers love this aspect because you can not do anything unless your right thumb is held on the screen. There is zero momentum and it just leads to a very unsatisfying experience. This is surprising because Snowman’s previous boarding game, Alto’s Adventure, had none of this. I guess it’s different since this game takes place in urban cities instead of steep hills but even then, normal skateboarding does not require this much pushing. The end result just makes the whole experience boring. I wish this wasn’t the case because I love Alto’s Adventure and I was so looking forward to Snowman’s newest outing but after this disappointment, I’m just looking forward to playing Where the Cards Fall. ✓ My worst favourite game..As a person that skates, this is hands down my favourite game that exists on the App Store. The movement the the controls everything is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I could play it for hours and hours I remember playing a beta like version, skate lines, when it came out and it was gone all of all of a sudden and I thought I’d never see it again. Then this came out. This polished, worked on version is the skate game I wanted to play on the App Store for years. I can see how much work that has been put into this game and it hurts me because of this reason it’s on arcade.... I don’t play games on my iPhone other than this and true skate. I would but this game if it was 20 dollars in a heartbeat if I could buy if one off. But I don’t want to pay $7 a month. That’s $84 a year just to play one game on arcade. ✓ Absolute disappointment of a skate gameFor someone who's an actual skater the controls are awkward and don’t really make sense, hard to enjoy after playing games like skater app or touch grind. Skater app is way better and has a way more intuitive and natural control scheme as well as decently fun challenges. This is a fancier looking version of epic skater with worse controls and slower movement, the pushes give you the same speed and you never feel like your doing a line properly you just slow down. It’s also a lot harder too keep combos going and they don’t even feel fluid and they fully jus ripped off the thps balance mechanic for grinds but it’s 2d and I feel like it not even needed. For how long this app has been in development and for how long it’s been hyped up it’s not worth the download at all. Could have at least made it a free app for everyone to enjoy but no, only reason I downloaded it was cuz I got arcade free for 3 months with my phone. Without that, never would have considered this game on my screen, cheers.Version: 5.0
