✓ RudimentaryBasic puzzles. Some interactions do not qualify as puzzles. The game does capture the mystery ambiance with the music and all. I figured the premium levels would ramp up the difficulty. That was not the case. Premium levels were marginally more entertaining. The “story” seems superfluous and forced. Some puzzles may take you five minutes, likely not. Being very generous here, but perhaps 1.5 hours of gameplay total. Upon completion of the game you are told to stay tuned for future packs. I would gladly run through any future content, but I will not be spending any more money. Worth the free experience, but there is better bang for your buck in the App Store..Version: 1.0
✓ Too easyIt’s something to occupy my time, has really nice graphics and visuals, but it’s not at all challenging. I expected it to get harder as it went on, after buying the extra packs, but it didn’t. When you click on a “puzzle”, the answer is literally given to you. For example, a common puzzle is to literally move a slider to the spot that’s marked. Another one they use a lot is rotating something so that it lines up to the spot it gives you. There’s no challenge in that, I’m literally just dragging something exactly where you’re telling me to drag it..Version: 1.0
✓ Too easy, short and overpriced.This game is pretty well put together with nice animations, but it feels like a student project. The puzzles are way too simple, often the hardest part is navigating the touch interface to figure out how to move the pieces. Seems like it’s a “puzzle game” made for very young kids. If you’re curious, play the free levels until you get sick of the ads, but don’t bother paying for the extra levels, they’re mostly all just the same. Go and get The Room instead. It’s better, longer and cheaper and it has sequels that are also better longer and cheaper..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Important, read before installOkay, so my main issue is that all though the game itself is free to install, you only get to play 10 levels before you have to pay $1.99 for 5 more levels, there are only 3 more “packs” that have 5 levels each. You can either pay $1.99 for 5 levels per pack, or you can pay $4.99 for all 3 packs, which gain you access to all 15 levels. The game has a total of 25 levels in all. Also, the puzzles are extremely easy and there’s really no challenge. It’s almost not even worth paying for. The only positive thing about this game are the graphics. The graphics and the design is breath taking, but the lack of challenge and levels make this game mediocre at best..Version: 1.0.4

✓ Good but expensiveAs others have said the game is good with good graphics but it is way too easy. At £4.99 to unlock the packs though, it really isn’t worth and I won’t be upgrading. It took me all of an hour (if that) to complete the 10 free levels, if I am only going to get 20 more levels it truly isn’t worth £5 for 2 hours of game play!! Either they need to give a lot more levels for the price or make them a lot longer/harder. ✓ Love and hateI absolutely fell in-love with this game.... it’s addicting and challenging and overall one of my favorite games. HOWEVER, the “free” levels... there just aren’t enough of them. I ended up purchasing the complete package of levels, that was SUPPOSED to be on sale for only $2.99. It ended up charging me the full $4.99 price. I want to download the 2nd package but I just don’t feel like the number of levels that there are, is worth the price. If there were way more levels, or if the packages were cheaper.... I’d give this 5 stars and would buy the 2nd package and future packages. On a side note, there are only 2 levels that couldn’t find all 3 jewels to get the epilogue level opened up and I have tried at least a dozen times to find these last two jewels. It’s a lovely game, and escape rooms are my favorite. However, once completed, I wondered if the further levels would be more challenging. The price to get to the end was, overall — for all the levels — rather expensive. The reviews said not, and, thus, was disappointing. Had they been increasingly difficult or had the game been less expensive, I would have kept it, as it’s a truly lovely game. So enjoyable. Love the gameplay; love the music; love the tweets. But sadly, it’s not worth the cost... Had the game been for sale for $2 or $3, as are many, I would have been glad to pay, considering the excellence and the reviews. ✓ Too simple, short and shallow.Don’t let the beautiful graphics and animation fool you, this game is shallow and lacking any kind of challenge. Even when you purchase the full version you still only get 25 levels. That’s 25 levels of repetitive, overly simple puzzles that offer now challenge. ✓ Not BadTaking the 3D item interaction from The Room and dumbing it down significantly while also adding IAP brings you The Birdcage. It is not a bad game, but it’s not great. Some of the puzzles are laughingly easy especially given the description for the game said this game had the hardest puzzles ever! I beat the 10 free levels within half an hour. I never got stuck for more than a minute. Now, the game is free, so you really can’t complain. And $1 per 5 additional levels isn’t bad. When you compare it to the $5 for a The Room game though, there’s no comparison. I would recommend this for newcomers to the escape game genre and kids. ✓ Beautiful but BORINGThis game is stunning visually and has some interesting story bits. Unfortunately all of the puzzles were meant for a 6-8 year old child level. AR is kinda cool but annoying since you have to keep moving the camera. Not a bad game to occupy young kids but as an adult or smart child you’ll get 0 satisfaction or sense of achievement from this. I kept playing in hopes of the puzzles ramping up in difficulty but they never did. Even the gems are basically found in the same few spots every stage. Some puzzle designs utilized some refreshing mechanics, but was completely underwhelmed by how straightforward and easy they were. They literally plaster all the answers right in front of your face. They also reuse the same type of puzzle mechanic over and over again. So if you want something pretty that can waste about 10 seconds of your life per stage this good. ✓ Beautiful game, but the puzzles were seriously lackingThe graphics of the game itself is quite beautiful and the AR works quite well once you set it up by placing the birdcage where you want and at the height you want. However this is a puzzle game and I feel like the puzzles where seriously lacking. Some puzzles where so ridiculously simple that they could be solved in under 4 moves. I prefer when puzzles are challenging enough that you actually have to think about the answer rather than being able to solve it after a glance. If you are looking for something that won’t challenge you then this is a very good choice, if however you are looking for something more difficult and substantial then you should get The Room. ✓ Expensive & way to short!It’s a good game in theory, especially for people who like puzzle solving games. It is far too easy to solve though, it needs to be more challenging. ✓ Fine but shortNote that if you pony up the $5, you get 15 levels and an epilogue level on top of the 10 free levels. Whether it's worth it or not is up to the customer, but I'll say for me it really wasn't. The puzzles lean to the simple and the storyline, such as it is, doesn't really have much depth to it. Therefore replay potential is extremely limited. Visuals are very strong, and the sound is nice - so at the end of the day we have a rather pretty game that will be a one and done. The AR function is a little more with the gee whiz factor, but doesn't make up for the lack of immersive gameplay. ✓ Need more levels for the moneyPaid the “no ad” upgrade and then the levels dropped off after the dove level, Was disappointed in that. Felt like for $5.00 upgrade the levels should continued further. Such as ongoing past the ones shown. I liked the design and loved the puzzle aspect of the game. But I agree with other reviewers that think as the levels went on the puzzles should’ve gotten more difficult as well but not just end and then start another “The Birdcage 2” that’s going to do the same thing. Not paying for the levels past the crow level(Free) in Birdcage 2 because for $6.00 to have it end after the 4th bird level is not worth the money. If it was ongoing and didn’t also involve spiritism then I might consider it but Birdcage 2 went to a dark side and am not impressed. Loved, Loved, Loved The Birdcage and would play it if more levels were added to it, but will not move ahead with The Birdcage 2 past the free levels. ✓ Not challenging whatsoeverShouldn’t even be called a puzzle game due to the levels being so easy. The game also promises an extra level if you complete a certain task (the task is also incredibly easy), but fails to tell you that you also have to buy every other available level just to complete said task. I completed all 10 free levels in a span of about 15 min, including ad time. Aesthetically the game gives off a “the room” vibe and looks and feels great, so if you like to play games that aren’t hard and look good then this is for you, but personally it was a big disappointment..Version: 1.0.47

Albeit the smooth controls and interface are comparable, you’ll find yourself breezing quickly through this game for the lack of challenging puzzles. ✓ WarningIt’s freemium. Other than that, it’s not bad, but it’s clearly taking inspiration of the room series and the puzzles are very easy and straightforward (e.g. bird stuck in birdcage. There are things around birdcage. Go to thing 1, solve easy puzzle, get item to unlock thing 2. Unlock thing 2, solve easy puzzle, get thing to unlock thing 3 etc. [by the time you make it past thing 3, the next “thing” has a high chance of being the end of the level]). ✓ Not bad, needs work on item sizing.What’s wrong with the game is that the items you find seem to be a different size when you use them. For example, when you find a key in a small box, it suddenly becomes allot larger when you insert it to a keyhole. Also seems to be very similar to another iOS game, but a pretty good contender. If they fix the item size bug, I would maybe invest into more levels. Really good idea to make free, but have in game purchases for more levels. I really hoped the puzzles would be challenging in a myst kind of way, but instead it was just so obvious with every puzzle that it never seemed to ramp up to something more complicated. ✓ Too short, too easyThis is a cute game, nice graphics, but too easy & too short. There is only one type of challenge on each level & once you have got it, the whole level is just more of the same. I hoped the paid for levels would be more challenging, they weren’t. This is a nice concept; a different take on the escape room theme, but it falls short. With only 5 levels in each of the paid packs, taking just a few minutes each, they won’t keep you going for long. I hope that by buying the paid levels, it encourages the developer, but I won’t be buying more unless they last a bit longer I.e. more levels AND more of a challenge. ✓ Target audienceThe ga,e is quite short, quite simple, and definitely designed for youth. The problem is, the int button, is always shown, always available and children lack the control not to click it. Even worse, it does not show you where to focus, it shows you the full answer.
