✓ Great game but notifications nonexistentI have learned to really like this game. Only played live once but have delved more into the app. Biggest drawback is you have to go into the app to know if it's your turn. Also, very annoying that time outs and forfeits automatically end the game. Prefer my apps where an AI takes over like Lords of Waterdeep. Lowered my review. Without notifications too easy to time out. And finally I play a lot of games against AIs. After playing for quite some tome it is very buggy and when it fails the app crashes twice before resetting. ✓ No multiplayer on linked iTunes accounts!The app looks beautiful, but so far my husband and I can't use multiplayer together! I bought it specifically for the "network multiplayer" (we love that Carcassonne lets us play together without internet, and I hoped this would be the same). However, every time we download RftG and try to "friend" each other, within a few minutes it recognizes us as the same player. Our "friend" codes match up, and he disappears from my "friend" list. We have separate Apple IDs and Gamecenter IDs, and we've never had this issue before! I emailed Temple Gates Games and will update my review when I hear back. It seems like so far they have been very responsive to user feedback, so I hope to see it fixed in an update soon. I think the app is probably overall very strong, but I wanted to warn others who are buying primarily to play with family members!.Asp520Version: 1.04

✓ Server IssuesThe game is very smooth and well done. A very nice app that implements the game well. My problem with it is I keep getting a “server unavailable” message when I’m trying to play online with friends. Once that is fixed, this is easily a five star app. The developer’s response unfortunately doesn’t apply. Perhaps it’s not an issue with their servers but some sort of conflict with T-Mobile users. ✓ Great game but major bugI tried to find a place where you could send feedback to the developers but to no avail. So, guess I have to post it as a review. Colony Ship is broken. This card allows you to discard it as payment to place a world. So, after getting the Colony Ship out, you’ll be prompted to discard it as payment for any world you play after that. However, if you just click “ok” instead of actually discarding the Colony Ship, the game will not prompt you to pay for the world otherwise (discarding cards from your hand). In this way, you can play worlds for free as long as you have Colony Ship out and choose to not discard it as payment for a world. So currently, Colony Ship is the most powerful card. Play it and then play worlds for free after that. Of course, this is not really how the game is played but hey....until they fix it, ha!.Labrat01Version: 1.09.2

✓ Highly thought of, but the tutorials have left me baffled** Update ** I bought the physical base game & The Gathering Storm expansion, and learned the rules & gameplay through those, which has allowed me to play this digital adaptation (whilst giving me a physical copy to play on games nights). My only gripe now is that the digital Gathering Storm expansion is in the in-game store at $3.99, yet when trying to purchase it, it’s trying to charge me £3.99 which seems a little unfair given the advantageous $ to £ exchange rate. ✓ Not friendly to colorblind peoplePlayed the physical version recently and enjoyed the rules and the game play, but they only use color to distinguish planet types and a couple of the colors they used are too similar for me to tell apart. I was hoping the electronic version of the game would have some sort of colorblind friendly mode, but it doesn’t. ✓ Online server issuesThere seems to be incompatibility between the online servers and the T-mobile network so I can not play over cellular. It only happens on RftG and Agricola. ✓ Great but flawed version of great board gameThe basic game is flawless, but takeover rules don’t work right. You’ll see random takeovers succeed that should fail, takeovers allowed that the rules forbid (the game ignores the +1 military for takeovers, among other things). Annoyingly, the rules are strictly enforced for human players. Plus the complicated card actions never work right for AI players. They’ll randomly get cards at the end of turns. It’s a good port of the board game, and is pretty playable on an iPad, although it’s painful to read on iPhones. The tutorial is nice, and the AI, even at medium is a good challenge. The issues really come up for me in multi player. Although you can link devices, you can only play turns on the device you started the game on. In addition, with more that two players, there’s some real problems with game state. I don’t think I’ve successfully completed a three player game online. Card distribution seems off. ✓ Game crash puts app in an unrecoverable state (update)I loved this game when I could play it. However, just a couple weeks in I ended up with a hand of cards that could not be resolved by the app. The game hung and then crashed. Every attempt to start a new game since causes the app to crash. There is no way to recover so the game is now unplayable. Update: the last update seems to have corrected the issue. ✓ Great game, mediocre interfaceI love the board game version of RftG, so I was very excited to try the app. However, the interface is not designed well and it makes the game difficult to enjoy. For one thing, the app doesn't fill the screen on the iPhone X. Another problem is that the interface elements are very small and hard to read. I'd have preferred a modal interface that shows only the information that's pertinent during each phase, so the IL interface elements are larger and easier to read. Lastly, it isn't clear what steps are happening as the round progresses, so I often have to bring up the log to understand what happened.
