I love the music, and that most of it is free! It took a while to load..yet as soon as I opened up the app, I understood completely. There are 100+ songs! As I said, I am new to the game, so I haven’t unlocked all of them, but I’m really excited to! Now for the suggestions: The music can be extremely loud, yet that can be fixed by adjusting the volume. Yet, when I call my friend (or just someone in general) and they want to play the game with me, while talking..I can’t hear them over the music. I would LOVE for there to be some sort of way for you to either mute, or turn down the volume, but you can still hear the person you’re talking to. Other than that, I absolutely LOVE this game!! ✓ Honestly the best Mobile Rhythm GameA lot of people seem confused at first and i understand why But genuinely once you get into to, it’s hard to ever see it as a confusing mess again. Every new rhythm game takes time to get used to and Arcaea is no different, but this game is SO WORTH IT The story isn’t written like it was made by a nonstop discord user, it’s written as an ACTUAL STORY and the story is PHENOMENAL!! The gameplay is similar to sound voltex but has its own unique story and partners to use as you play AND I LOVE THAT about this game. Of course it has payed elements but your not forced to. The accounts are free, you get to experience world mode to unlock 50 songs for free - using the in game currency “Fragments” that you get simply by playing the game! The song list is amazing and there are so many different packs to suit different music styles, some of them with their own gimmick, AND ALL OF THEM coming with their own partner. There are limited events that keep you invested AND ITS SUCH an enjoyable experience PLEASE if you’re reading this and haven’t downloaded the game, TRY IT OUT! ✓ Great Story and GameplayThe story is great! I mean it like omgg it’s beautiful, if you don’t like the main story there’s plenty of side stories, I like lethe’s story. The great gameplay is just the cherry on top, This game is amazing and is f2p friendly, with 50+ free songs with game progression, but I’m a p2w person and have only unlocked like 2 of the free songs while buying all the paid packs, I’m a loser And if you’re not looking to spend too much, theyre songs that cost only $1 ($1 = 1 song), since most packs come with 5 or more songs in $5, you can buy a singular song in memory archive, I really like libertas About the gameplay, it’s pretty friendly on both finger and thumb play, on both tablet and phone you need to utilise 2 fingers and even 4 fingers for the harder songs! But it’s still tricky even with 2 fingers. Shoutout to all the thumb players The game also has a friend system and levelling system, if you do good on a song or better than you did before, your potential raises, the maximum is 12ptt, I am currently a 10ptt player, you can check your friends ptt on your friends list as well as the recent song they did The game also has limited time events, which I barely can do cause I am very lazy, I wanted to play that one free world mode song and I said that 2 years ago, I barely made progress!.Version: 3.0.5
✓ Dlc songs and story modeI really, really, love arcaea. the gameplay is exciting, especially the sky notes, which are a type of new gameplay that i havent seen before in rhythym games. all in all, arcaea is great. the thing is, if you want to explore story mode, you need to use real money. the only way to unlock story mode is to buy its pack, using paid memories. i understand making the dlc song packs and collab packs paid, but the story mode? the loading screen boasts the lore of how “two girls explore a world, shattered with sound,” and that sounds cool, until you find out you have to pay for it. im sure there are many f2p players out there like me, so i just wish you could experience the lore without needing to pay. again, i understand paying for dlcs and stuff, but i wish the story was more accessible..Version: 3.12.8

✓ Literally greatThis was the second rhythm game I’ve first played and tbh, there are a good selection of songs and a unique gameplay. The story, it’s just beautiful. *chefs kiss* and the art is nice. Also like how some songs are challenging. ✓ Honestly one of the best mobile games I’ve ever playedI downloaded this game because I was looking for a decent rhythm game... and I was pleasantly surprised at the execution of this game. For one, I was expecting to have paid some money to get access to the majority of the content, since this is a free game after all. However, there is so much accessible to you for free that in my first 3 weeks of consistently playing this game I have had barely encountered any pay walls. There aren’t even any ads within the game itself. I really admire the developers’ approach to monetization and I will probably be buying some song packs in the near future just to support this awesome game. Next, the actual gameplay feels so smooth and the menus and loading screens are polished to an elegant, easy to use app. Finally, the music selection, though not varied in genre, perfectly matches with the overall aesthetic of the game itself and really contributes to the experience that is Arcaea. ✓ Great, but...This rythme game is great! Nice music and an interesting interface. I personally don’t play these kind of games, as i prefer more action, but this is great. What bothers me the most is when games like these lock everything behind a paywall. I would like to enjoy the game without having to whip out my wallet every time i want to play a new song. Luckily, the prices for memories is as low as $10 so that’s a steal compared some of the others i’ve played ($30+) I’ll probably be getting a song pack sooner or later. The songs are really catchy. I don't consider myself good at these types of games but throughout the few months I've been playing this game, I have seen much improvement in myself from not being able to even touch a Present 8 to being able to clear some of the mid or easier Future 9s. There are several songs that are free from the get go, which means that you don't have to spend money to play songs but some of the most fun and challenging songs come at a price, literally. As for iPad or iPhone preference, I think that iPad use is recommended. I am a thumb player though and it is definitely playable with just your phone but with harder, more complex songs you might face a bit more of a challenge. :).Version: 2.0.3
✓ Bemani Expert opinionLet me preface this review by saying that I am easily more well versed in rhythm games than any other person here. I have achieved chuuden on IIDX, played DDR,s hardest challenge songs, and am able to pick up easy crap like SDVX and Jubeat VERY easily, playing 20’s on SDVX within a month, 10’s on Jubeat on first day. Now that we have established I’m better than anyone here let’s get to the review The game is a SDVX / kshoot clone but it does it better than both those games. The game actually has timing windows unlike SDVX where there is only critical, miss or near. This game actually tells you if you are late or slow, and the controls are way more suited towards this type of interface. If you are familiar with IIDX terminology, I’m able to TAKA S this game very easily with my experience, thumbs easily cover all 4 bottom keys even on hard stuff, saving indexes for the your other notes. Great game especially if you blow a fat load and only play osu! Or something sad like that, give it a try it’s better than most trash nowadays..Version: 3.5.2

Also I don’t understand why you would go through such lengths to chart ignotus afterburn just so it could never be played again. Which brings me to my next suggestion, it wouldn’t hurt to use those same effects in future song releases, or at least anomaly songs. It’s wasted potential in a more in-depth experience in my opinion. ✓ Great (without the payments)This game’s definitely worth playing, everything about the game feels extremely well polished, like charts, general ui and art all are great and im really not sure what else to comment on about that but theres 2 things that i feel should be talked about 1. world mode : ive seen a lot of complaints about world mode and the fact it feels grindy as its whole concept is replaying songs over and over again until you reach something you want and the stamina system doesnt help as it feels like arcaea’s forcing you to play the game slower with that mechanic 2. payments : theres no point in complaining that the game is paid but it surprises me how much of it is paid, atleast like 70% of the songs in the game and the entire main story and all side stories will require you to pay for access to it, and the free content is just enough content to keep going but this game is basically a paid game so think about that before downloading other than those two things the game is amazing, its worth the download even if you’re not planning on getting anything and its easily one of the best games on the app store.Version: 4.1.4

Definitely one of the best rhythm games I’ve played in a while, but this game SERIOUSLY needs some kind of practice mode where you can go back and master certain parts of a song let me tell you, it is so hard to master a song when there’s split second moments you miss. and then have to listen to the whole song again to get back to that part. I do believe there is one problem that makes this not a 5 star review, it is the paywalls behind the songs. The songs cost memories and there is no way to get them for free. ✓ An unknown errorI enjoy playing many rhythm games so I decided to download this one. Right off the bat i noticed that you could not do some things unless I did something called “logging into the internet” so i tried to register but every time i attempt to do so, it just tells me “An unknown error has occurred” I don’t know why this shows up but I really want to be able to be able to register so it’s frustrating when every time I attempt to, it just shows me that. My internet was not the problem, I refreshed my game multiple times, i searched up what may be the problem but no matter what i do it doesn’t work. I haven’t played the game for long but judging by the couple of songs I could play, it seemed fun and that all the more reason why i want to be able to register..Version: 5.3.1
✓ This game is great! I just have one major issue with itI absolutely love this game, and I’ve been playing it for the past couple of weeks. The only thing I dislike about it is the world mode. It makes unlocking harder songs an absolute chore because of the fact that you have to wait 25 minutes to be able to make a solid play to move forward one space, in on of the world courses. Add that to the fact that you sometimes have to move 40+ spaces to unlock a new song, and you get frustrated with it very quickly. It is easily the highest quality mobile rhythm game I have ever played, and in the f2p aspects of the game there is nothing I would change. Of course, because it’s a free mobile game, there are some paywalls, and to unlock song packs and the story mode you will need to buy memories. I wish that the players could earn memories through the world mode, as it would make the game more enjoyable to people that would rather play the game for free. I do understand, though, that everyone working on that game has to get paid somehow(of course, one solution is throughout the whole world mode giving just enough for 1-2 song packs). ✓ Really goodI have been playing this game for over a year, but with the release of the final main story pack a few weeks ago I finally decided to leave a review. Pros: It… is a really great rhythm game. This is one of the first rhythm games I downloaded and remains the one most satisfying to play. There is a high skill ceiling, and that gives me room to play for many years more. There are no flick notes (YES!). The storyline is surprisingly good, and honestly one the main reasons I ended up buying all the main story packs back when I first started playing. And wow, final verdict truly finished off the story really beautifully. Also, as someone who bought final verdict when it came out and completed everything as soon as possible, that was an incredibly emotional week. Honestly final verdict just blew my expectations out of the water, just wow. A lot of the side stories are also really good, although I haven’t yet bought them all. Cons: world mode (how you unlock some songs) is disgusting. This is more of a personal opinion but I really hate the grind. Also, the vast majority of songs are locked behind memories, which cost real money. Including the main storyline. Ouch. I think that it’s worth it but the entire main storyline can reach ~£30 which is quite expensive and outside many people’s budget. I ended up rating it 5 stars because Arcaea really is too good despite its flaws..Version: 4.0.256

Sky notes are fine, and normal notes are as good as ever. As well as that, music in this game is immensely entertaining. If your new and you don't pike the paywall, putting only 5$ into the game and buying a pack that has a diff 11, could literally keep you occupied for months until you get a pm full score on it. If you spend money on a rhythm game to play the chart once, and just ignore it for the rest of the time, your loosing months of enjoyment. Like the new CHUNITHM partners from a while back, you cant even see awakened Isabelles gun, or seeles sword. All around I doubt you'll see and add this, but it would be cool if there was an art scale factor. But I think theres a tiny bit of room for more features- Quests- Maybe instead of having to buy memories, the game can have quests to get more of them. Including stamina, etc. Practice mode- There are some hard songs I really want to try and play but I can’t learn them properly, so maybe there should be a practice mode where you can practice some songs (or tutorial ones with different difficulties) without having to get a score at the end. Maybe you could add tips for playing the songs too. (Like don’t hit too early, etc.) Story mode- I know that some songs have stories to them, but maybe there should be a story mode, similar to world mode. ✓ Mobile SDVXUpon recently playing this, I found the mechanics quite similar to the Japanese arcade game Sound Voltex. That being said, the sky notes and vertical motion for the rails are a nice usage of the touch screen to expand upon the lasers of SDVX. I play 12's and some 13's in SDVX, and I can say that the skills do translate well to the "Present" 8's and such. ✓ Ipad use recommended.Now I would not consider myself as one of those master of Rhythm Games but I play a lot of Cytus, Deemo, and Voez (All Rayark) and I get many of Full Combos, Masters on songs, ect. But this is not a game you can get those with on a small screen. Now I have an Iphone 7+ and even that is not big enough (and no I have average sized fingers). In general I love the game. Unlike most, keeps you playing to earn songs though there are only 20 you can unlock without real money (an extra 6 if I remember with the DLC songs). However this game does have it’s issues. The ‘Advanced’ Settings has it to where you can adjust the Offset of the notes. It is determined by increments of five while in the ‘Basic’ settings the Note Speed can be adjusted to all numbers and even down to one tenth if needed. I’m trying to play this game with Air Pods but with the ‘Advanced’ setting set to where it will tell you if you’re on early or late seems to always be a bit off. I hope you can manage to adjust it to a smaller degree in the future but otherwise don’t use any sort of bluetooth headphones I suppose. tl;dr I’ll give it a flat Four Stars. A lot of Rhythm Games are easier on a bigger screen but this one can handicap you to the point where it’s unplayable if you have a small screen. And of course, it’s hard to get it right in terms of the right calibration but precision is what rhythm games are all about. Try and makes it as accurate as possible if you can..Version: 1.1.6

✓ Amazing!I’m a big fan of rhythm games, and when I saw it I knew I had to get it. Over the time I’ve played it, I’ve gotten to grips with the controls and come to really, really like the game. However, there is still some issues that I just want to list… So most mobile games have in-app purchases. Obviously, in a game like Arcaea, you’d think that memories were optional and could be bought just to show how much money you have? Well, there could be another use for them, such as being 10 Fragments in 1 Memory, but I’m actually just requesting if that could be another use. But it’s the story unlocking mechanism that’s the problem. For people that don’t have enough money to buy Memories, maybe you could add a feature where you have to collect a certain amount of Fragments depending on the pack to unlock it, or have your Main Character at a certain Potential? I would also quite like that. Of course, if you do add those methods, then you can keep the Memory payment method. This is just something that might help more experienced rhythm gamers here. Why not add a Beyond difficulty to all songs that are Difficulty 9 or higher? I mean, if the player got past the Future 9 song, I’m sure they might be able to handle a 10 or 10+ or maybe higher. For players wanting to play songs with a specific note type, why not add 2 new difficulties called Ground+Hold and Sky+Arc? Definitely keep the normal difficulties though. ✓ My favourite rhythm gameThis is one of my favourite games ever, I have sunk so many hours into it. Even if you don’t intend on paying for packs or songs, you should still try it. One thing I think should be added is more harder difficulty free songs so people who don’t pay can have almost as much of a challenge as people who do pay, and i’m not saying you should add an 11 difficulty free song, i’m just saying you should have more options for difficulty as a f2p. Otherwise, this is a wonderful game that I will continue to play for however long into the future and I will probably still keep paying..Version: 3.8.6
