✓ It is choking my system!My download and upload speeds have reduced from 1 Gbps to 70 Mbps. Initially I thought i t might have been my ethernet cable or the fibre optic internet provider. ✓ Really need a kill switch and colour changes on setting slidersThe App on my laptop has a kill switch so I can set it so it can’t link to mobile data network or WiFi without the VPN. Always have to turn it on myself even though my settings are for it to be on in all cases. ✓ Freezes and not allow use phone!True, this is only occasional, but felt must report it for fixing. The avg vpn gets stuck on apple and at times will not even let you use your mobile! APP StoreI know from communicating with your team, that VPN doesn’t have anything to do with the App Store, but for some other reason, I have to shut off VPN at times, so that App Store can function. Also I have downloaded avg mobile, and you have sent thru email another mobile download, but it won’t install. ✓ Always an issue for vpn within the security appEvery time I run a “smart” scan with AVG security it says I have a risk. It tells me I don’t have protection while browsing (or no vpn connected) and shows a warning. Very annoying being that I actually SHOULD have a VPN on and it’s the standalone VPN by avg. One of 2 things is happening. 1) either the standalone VPN doesn’t work although it says it does or 2), AVG has yet to figure out that, although they include a VPN in their security service, that they actually are protecting the browsing with a VPN of their own just not being used through the security app but through the VPN app. Complicated, but seems elementary that this would not be fixed especially yet..Version: 2.5.1

✓ Multiple problemsI’ve used this VPN (though used is an overstatement) for over a year. It is the slowest VPN I have ever used to the point I have to turn it off to avoid multi-minute loading times on normal website pages. It often turns itself off without my knowledge so it’s efficacy is lacking. I’ve reinstalled it and tried other server locations to no avail. It also has one of the longest connection times I have ever seen on some days. UPDATE: Regarding the developer response, I am aware of how VPN’s work. I have also used NordVPN and PIA, the difference in the speed at which a site loads was negligible with those services. They also didn’t randomly deactivate themselves without even a notification. Customer service “clarified” that you have to use the same Apple ID. The whole idea of Apple family sharing is so that the purchase can be shared among family members with different Apple ID. I downloaded it because we have used AVG for years on PCs. But there seems to be better, at least higher ratings VPN for iOS on the market, so I’m not really sad to cancel the subscription after the free trial. On top of being so limited, it doesn’t even give you an IP address in the area you choose; for example, if you chose Chicago, USA, Avg’s VPN will give you an IP in Europe, possibly Czech Republic based on the language changes to Google. ✓ Doesn’t work for streaming services; doesn’t stay connected reliablyI first used AVG when it was a free anti virus application. I thought that the quality and effectiveness was good. I tried their other products, some work well, others not so much. I found the VPN to work well at first but now not reliably. Been trying to use this service on my iPhone and iPad to access streaming services. It doesn’t work. I’m using another VPN for that purpose. AVG VPN works on my PC ok, but some websites flag errors when it’s on. I only use it on public wifi networks. I never use in on private networks with their own firewall rules because it blocks valid content and can break application functionality for me, the user. I also found this to be true of the AVG antivirus and internet security software so I uninstalled it and am using another antivirus software now. I guess as cybersecurity gets more complex it’s a balance between allowing access vs blocking access and whoever writes the algorithms really need to keep up..Version: 2.4.2
