✓ Where are the 11,000 free books?Claims to give access to 11,000 free books to download for the app to play, but there is zero way to access these. Go to import books, and it tells you to put your IP address into your browser and all will be revealed, but all you get is an error message that it cannot connect to the server. What a waste of time and app store space. At least it was free..Version: 1.3

✓ Buggy...playback skips back 15-30 mins sometimes..I tried the free version of this app with the two book limit. This was one of the only audiobook players that went up to 3x speed and still sounded good. After a couple of books I bit the bullet and decided spend the $9 to upgrade to the “pro” version so that I could add more books. (It still shows “upgrade to pro” even after you have upgraded it) After using the app for a couple of weeks I started to notice the bugs. For one, there would be times where I would pause the book and when I came back to it sometimes it’s would jump back to 15, 20 even 30 mins or more from where I left off. So then I had skip, skip, skip forward to find where I left off. It got to the point that I was taking screenshots of my place so that if it jumped back I would at least know where I had left off. On other problem with the app is that you have to load books either through WiFi via your computer browser or from a cloud service like your google drive. And, you had to zip up your books if you want to upload more than one book at a time. Additionally, you don’t get any book cover (minor annoyance, but still), you can’t arrange your books and there is only one view so you end up with big no picture book icons in the order that you upload them. For $9 this should have all the features of the other players that are either free or priced less. The only reason I resorted to this player is that it played a decent sounding 3x playback. If you don’t listen to anything above 2.5x, I would not recommend getting this App. There are better free or lower cost apps that do a much better job..Version: 2.1
✓ It works mostlyOccasionally when trying to pause from the lock screen the book will skip back several minutes and keep playing. Frustrating to find where I was in the book. Otherwise it works well and I like the ability to load books from my computer by simply putting in the IP address for my phone when connected to WIFI..Version: 1.3.3
✓ Not greatThe free version only allows you to have 2 books when many other apps allow you to have as many as you want. Not a huge deal. I usually download all my books from all over the web. Not from Audible,Kindle, or any the normal pay to play audiobook apps. I transferred a book into this app and it didn’t generate any of the art or identify the chapters. It was essentially a long mp3 file. A 25 hour song that I could listen to. I was looking for an app that I could listen to audio books I’ve downloaded from the internet without having to plug into my computer and transfer the books into the Ibooks app. This isn’t that app. If you download files directly to your phone and want them to be organized by chapter, this app doesn’t work..Version: 1.3.3
✓ Very buggyThe app works but I feel like I’m using the alpha version of the app. There are multiple very obvious bugs that I am surprised haven’t been caught yet. ✓ Pause is so wonkyThe app is ok, but there is no rhyme or reason to the pause and restart. It doesn’t remember your position in the book well at all! Sometimes it reminds me back 5-10 minuets!.Version: 1.2.1

✓ This needs a lot of workI was pleased to see a audiobook app that can download from my NAS, but this app is not ready for prime time. Some of the m4b books it downloads aren’t recognised by the app, and an instruction to download in mp3 format comes up. At other times it does recognise the format but shows only one chapter, even though there are several. Apple’s own player sees them correctly. It doesn’t display the embedded book cover (Apple’s player does). I couldn’t see the dark theme option, although frankly that’s unimportant when the app itself is so flawed. In order to be justified in charging for this app, it needs to have these flaws corrected and some critical features added. These include the ability to set user-specified times for rewind and skip forward, and a graphic equaliser for badly recorded or transcribed books. A good start but no cigar yet..Version: 2.1.1
✓ Not workingIt says downloading, then it shows the files, but I can’t do anything, so I have to close the app, and then they’re gone. I can’t go to settings or anything..Version: 1.3
✓ No crashes, but missing desired featuresThe free version only allows two book on a device, so I paid the $4.99 for “pro mode”. As such, I’m reviewing this app as a paid app; I’m generally more forgiving of flaws in free apps. Here’s what’s good: 1) After 8 hours of use, the app has not crashed once. That may sound like weak praise, but I’m serious about being pleased by that. An app I’d previously used for audiobooks now crashes constantly and is virtually unusable. Kudos for a stable app! 2) While the web wifi import does generate confusing and apparently meaningless “error” messages, it does work. In particular, I really do like that a book broken up into multiple parts can be zipped into a single file and imported at one time. Be sure though, to name the files 01-20 not 1-20 or the sort will be out of order! 3) Books are separated into their own folders. Seems obvious as an important feature, but I found another audiobook app that doesn’t do that. Here’s what disappoints me: 1) I can’t figure out how to put a book image on the folders. Since the included sample book displays an image it must be possible, but it’s very unintuitive and I gave up. 2) I like M4B format with chapters. Unfortunately, SmartBook does not recognize the chapter breaks and the book is all one long file. 3) I like making bookmarks to remind myself of things for a review, and to later return to spots to relisten. Not possible with SmartBook which is VERY disappointing..Version: 1.3.3

✓ Hopefully some adjustments coming soonI understand that soon it will be possible to fix a language filter without having to re-do it after every search and download. That’s great, but it would be nice to be able to browse, without having to know a title beforehand. As it is, when I scroll down, I can’t get beyond “Agnes Grey”. Perhaps a “jump to” letter B,C etc. would be very convenient. I want to experience new books, not just revisit those old titles I already know. Also, it would be convenient to know, when there are several versions of a title, just what differences are in those versions. Some have markedly different durations, some only slightly. What makes them different? I don’t want to download every example in order to find out. This is a great app. I hope soon it will be greater. 😀.Version: 1.3.1

✓ Help!I like the idea of this app, but I’ve only just downloaded it and already there’s a problem. The pro version is supposed to be free (for a limited time?), but each time I hit the upgrade button, the load symbol whirs, disappears, and then nothing. I know I should be getting a dialogue box from the App Store to confirm what I’m doing even if I’m paying nothing, but it’s not there. And the only way off of the page is to cancel the upgrade. What gives? Also, this seems to be the only way to actually contact the developer. Clicking on App Support on the store page sends you to his blog page, not an e-mail destination. ✓ I love it but....I have to take away two stars because it has issues when you pause it. It sometimes doesn’t remember where I’m at in the book. For example, I pause it at 2 min 32 sec. then press play. Then at 5 min 21 sec I pause it again. When I try to start playing again it will often go back to my previous pause point at 2:32. ✓ Good…but I keep losing my place! :(Wanted to love this app, but unfortunately, when I pause from the Lock Screen, and then switch over to the actual app (or Vice-versa), it does not remember the pause location, and I’m reverted back to the previous position. It’s quite frustrating, especially since there is no option to add a bookmark to get around that issue. It defeats the purpose of having an audiobook app if I have to search for the position I left off at every single time. I do appreciate that this app is offered for free! Also, I like that the audio settings (speed and volume) carry over from Book to book—I don’t have to reset it each time. And it’s great that there’s no time limit on how long of a book I’m able to listen to for free..Version: 2.1.1
