✓ Terrible SupportWhile I love this game, the support flow is terrible. It is not optimized whatsoever. Why is every issue completed once a user receive a response from the agent? That should not be the status when a user issue is not resolved. The resolves status should be on the user. However, the forced closure of the original ticket forces the user to resubmit multiple contact for a singular issue. User should be able to have a message box to reply to the agents response so that the conversation is centralized. I’ve messaged them numerous times about the failed injection of S Jade into my account despite having proof of purchase and Apple’s confirmation that the order was successful. Yet the in game agent can only tell me that it didn’t go through so I have to follow up with Apple? Apple takes care of the payment, but the developers should really be the ones to handle the in game injection based on the payment ping that the platform should get notified of. Now if it doesn’t but a customer shows that they did, what is stopping the developers from credited the player? Honestly I’ve been frustrated too many times going back on forth on the support portal..Version: 1.0.103
✓ RiggedI want my money back, I wasted $70 on the newest event and I did not get a single SSR. It said my chances were up but all I got were R ranks, you know how much money I lost playing this over summoning. I want my money back. Please tell me you know the feeling of losing money and gaining nothing back, I understand it’s a chance game but this is just disgusting. The chances have gone up and yet I haven’t gotten anything. To even make a achievement for not getting an SSR after 500 summonings is just devastating! ✓ Has potential but needs work...It took a long time to install but once done, I was looking forward to play as it looked great and the Japanese voice acting was a pleasant surprise. It’s borderline impossible to play. I have a strong internet connection according to speed tests but between each piece of dialogue I’m hit with a “connecting” pop-up that takes about 10 seconds. So I will read a sentence, then have to wait 10 seconds to read the next sentence. All too often the game freezes after the “connecting” pop-up causing me to have to reset the game. Which puts me back to the beginning of the dialogue and I have to go through the frustrating process again. Also, I’m sceptical as to the awards the app claims to have received. I researched the Google Play 2017 awards and this was nowhere to be seen....Version: 1.0.15
✓ Auto-battle isn’t funThis game is as old as Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, but SWGOH managed to figure out early on that auto-battle isn’t fun, and added the ability to instantly complete the daily farm battles. Then they had PvE and PvP events where the battles actually mattered that you couldn’t instantly complete, and auto-battle would result in a failure because the strategy part is actually important. But once you got through the hard part of the battle, you could turn on auto-battle to clean up. I don’t know why it’s become such a fad lately for game devs to solve the problem of the boring daily farm grind by making everything auto-battle. All they have done is made a game that is just as fun playing it as not playing it. Except if I’m not playing this game, I can still use my iPad for something else…like playing games that are actually fun. Can you imagine? Games that are actually more interactive while playing them then they are when uninstalling them?.Version: 1.7.115

✓ Falls shortOnmyoji is a beautiful game with excellent voice acting and incredible art. The battle system is very fun. Unfortunately the game has quite a few major drawbacks that kept me from getting hooked. Firstly, it’s almost impossible to summon a rare hero. That’s just disappointing. Next, the equipment system tries to be like Monster Super League but is so much more rudimentary. But the worst aspect is the sheer lack of combat encounters. The story is sort of like mini episodes of Natsume Yunjinchou, and it’s a ton of talking and talking and barely any actual fighting. Then when you do fight, you’re already bored to tears and the battle is over in two seconds. They really need to revamp this so there is more action..Version: 1.0.15
✓ Cool game, except...I’ve been playing this game for about a week at the time of writing this review. First impressions; the play-style is a lot like Summoners War, you collect monsters, equip them with runes (“souls”) and use them to battle. The RNG seems a bit better in this game compared to some others of this genre, I feel that I’ve already gotten many good runes/souls and even summoned a SSR rank monster which I’m guessing is like the equivalent of a 5⭐️/legendary rating in other games. Leveling up & exp farming seems quite slow though, but there is still a lot I don’t know about this game. The art-style is freakin amazing and I love the whole traditional Japanese theme this game has going on. Finally, one of the best parts is this game isn’t always throwing ads in your face, I can see myself playing this one for a long time! Edit: I originally gave this game a favorable review, however, after spending about 2 months of daily playing I will say that the exp farming is absolutely abysmal, tedious, and just flat-out not fun or engaging, and that is what ruined it for me. The devs need to give this game a SERIOUS exp gain overhaul. Anyway, even running TWO exp boosts at once and playing for months I never got a single monster to max level. All I can say now is you’d better have some serious determination or cash to blow on making your monsters powerful. Fun for a while but it didn’t last long..Version: 1.0.17
✓ Please never ever play this gameThe designer who designed the events or game activities for this game never used their brain. How you work hard on it will never receive same reciprocation, besides there are also a lot of stupid people in the game. I am physically feeling sick because of playing this game. Seriously, the game experience is extremely worse. I am also playing it on another server and I used almost 10 hours and 3000strength for reach the lowest requirements for the activities. Other people only needs 1500strength Please never ever play this game, it doesn’t worth for wasting time on it. I feel prepare for my final exam or doing calculus are even much better than this. If you don’t think about fixing the balance in the game, you will lost a lot of players. But I think this game already did. ✓ Don’t waste your moneyFirst of all, I gotta give it to the people who made this game as the story and characters are very good and secondly there’s a lot to busy yourself with BUT the one thing that made me write a review with 2 stars is the low freaking chance of SSR/SP shikigani. Now I know that most of “gacha” games are like this but let me tell you my experience. 180+ pulls/amulets not even a single SSR/SP came out and the worst of all it only gave me a handful of SRs and this on an event where the chances of getting SSR/SP are upped. I spend a lot of money of which the total amount I won’t announce but I can tell you based on my experience with the pricey micro transactions and the pay off that it is not worth it. Lastly, the events, it is not beginner friendly. You would have to either spend a lot of money or spend a lot of time of which even if you have reach the qualification the event would’ve already ended and all would be for naught. Overall, the game is very good in terms of story and game play however based on what I experienced and said on this review, it is a ‘pay to win’ or ‘ignore your life and any other interest you have to win’. ✓ Used to be funThis game used to be great. Now it’s a pay-to-win black hole. Soul drop rates are awful, so unless you farmed like it was your job 9 months ago you’re not going to get anything good. I was busy playing the content back then like an idiot. The changes in content to balance the game are basically just releasing new shiki that don’t counter the old ones. Some sections are hard for the sake of being hard (you need 170% hit chance, because 125% just isn’t good enough). It’s become a game of sub stats where you have to pay enormous sums (over a grand) to get anything good. And if you don’t it won’t matter what shiny new shiki you pull, someone will still have a first strike dps that one shots its target, freezes your entire team, and cannot be killed. Oh, and if you write this message as a suggestion in the in-game chat you’ll get a nice message in Chinese that probably says “we don’t care” because your messages never send. ✓ Great game just doesn’t work on my deviceI love the game, it’s fun, you don’t need to pay to win, love the characters and the music. You do need a LOT of patience with the summoning though, my bad luck streak is... bad, but that’s always just part of the game. I play on an iPhone 6 which is probably why is doesn’t work properly on my phone, it crashes mid battle or just at random times, and it’s so glitchy it just makes me want to hurl my phone at a wall sometimes haha. ✓ I love it except..I have been playing Onmyoji for a few years now and it’s still one of the games that I continue to play; however, lately these bugs have been a bit of an issue. I can still play, i guess but sometimes it just refuses to load or it’ll freeze at the end of a fight. When I feed my pets the bar doesn’t even go up. I have to continuously go out of the pet house and then go back in to see if I fed them and at that point even collecting the rewards from the pets are a problem because I continuously press the reward but I don’t realize I’ve collected it until after a while where it says “you’ve already collected the reward” several times. ✓ Everything makes this game crashIt saddens me to give a bad review because I love this game, but for the past 2 months or so the game has just crashed every time I try and do anything important; like bosses, netherworld gate, upgrading shikigami, sending messages, accessing the shop, etc. I send in crash reports from time to time but it happens so frequently that all I would be doing is issuing reports and would have no time to play the game. Plus, the responses I’ve received are either a prewritten auto reply or a “we are working on it”, but the app itself doesn’t update frequently, just the server. This leads me to believe that they aren’t so concerned with fixing this issues. I have friends in the game that have complained of the same problem so I know it’s not just me. And about the events VERY UNFAIR if I do say the fact that the game includes a event which you spend money on for S-jade just exactly why is 250 S-jade estimated about spending $10 Some of us don’t even have money or we are saving it for something important and we have the urge to get it. Honestly I’m really frustrated with this game I delete and re download a lot because I very much love the voice acting, the art and quality. ✓ Great game, but....The matchmaking takes between 4minutes and 10minutes. When you finally do get in a group, someone doesnt click the ready button & you have to start matchmaking all over again. The friend list is bugged online friends show as offline. This bug has been around for at least a week now. No way to earn cash currency for free. No rotation of champions, and gold to buy champions is really hard to get. Takes hundreds of games to earn enough to get 4 champs. That is why it gets a 3 & not a 5 star. Ill continue playing as it is a fun game when you can get a match, well balanced champions. But i end up wuitting the game because i dont have patience or time waiting for matchups....Version: 1.0.20

✓ Was funLike PVE? Better have the nisch team to be a top contender in PVE ranking. Otherwise any ol team will do to just clear. Like PVP? Better have the same team of units but faster. Other than a nice story, lovely graphics and beautiful character design, the gameplay is just a reck. PVE is easy to clear but boring to be good at. You can clear almost anything with any random team but to actually rank high you need to have a very nisch team with as close to the nearly impossible perfect soul set equipped. PVP is even worse anymore. Same 3 units on every team with overloaded kits and the only way to beat it is to use the same team but hope you have faster souls on. How else would you play when you have unblockable crowdcontrol that even the units that “cant be crowd controlled” are susceptible to? Ive walked away from PVP battles for 10+min and came back still in the same duel, still haven’t had a turn. You dont build damage you build speed on the same units as everyone else. In otherwords the only way you can use your favorite unit is if an event comes along and gives a buff to that unit for the event. Otherwise be prepared to run the same team as everybody else and show off your luck in soul stats. The game use to be very fun and offer a bunch of versatility but thats all gone..Version: 1.7.53

✓ SSRI really love this game. I'm currently level 35 and I'm playing with 2 friends however at level 35 I still dont have an SSR. The game system took notice of my bad luck summons and sent me 1000 jades which I used to buy the 11 amulet summons only to get 11 really bad characters with only 2 SR's I already have. The game is great, but it's just lets me down in a way with the cross my fingers and hope I get an SSR. The worse part too is watching my friends and other lower levels get an SSR and it's kinda making me feel left out in a way. I don't think I'm the only one having summoning issues..... Overall, there's a lot to do in this game. I'm going to keep playing and leveling my ubume. I just hope I get AN SSR someday like Yato Home or Otengu.Version: 1.0.17

✓ Summary of the GameIn short, beginner experience up to mid-end game is awesome. End game, not so much. The game is visually pleasing. Story is quite good, not amazing but it’s there. In a way, monster rarity isn’t everything but in turns, the game functions in a way that, souls(runes) means everything. That means, when you reached end game, you are required to spend at least 3hours/day farming them so your monsters are slightly more relevant. Having reached top 100 in duel(PvP), I can say that it’s pretty linear at lower brackets. There are certainly a lot more variables in the highest bracket and it can be fun bur can also be a waste of time..Version: 1.0.22

Leveling is super slow unless continuously attend to kill kraken. Summoning shiki is even worse. Yes it’s random. But when compare to Langrisser mobile, i feel like Onmyoji is very very greedy. I suggest go and play Langrisser mobile for a bit and you would see what I meant. You need to be extremely lucky to get ssr or sp. Even worse is you would summon what you already have in your list. ✓ Would have gotten 5 stars BUT..I would have given this a 5 star review but something has recently happened with my account that makes my give it less then 5 stars. Let me start by saying this review is about the customer service/Onmyoji team. The game itself is AMAZING and I love mostly everything about it. But the customer service leaves much to be desired. This week they made a mistake with giving out the steam pack to people who downloaded the steam version when it became free to play. Messing it up for those who paid for the early access to it on steam. But then they took it back from everyone, people who didn’t know they shouldn’t have it, including me and making everyones S-Jade, the Jade bought with real world money negative and they refuse to even put our balance back to 0 and making people pay $5 for 50 S-Jade we can’t use to get the balance back to 0 to even be able to use the currency again. This whole entire situation was handled poorly and has greatly ruined my enjoyment of this game..Version: 1.0.17

✓ FrustratedThere was a recent update that blocked several non-transaction actions for players who have negative s-jade. Many of these actions are necessary for playing the game such as upgrading shikigami with new skills and levels, or swapping out shikigami in realms. Onmyoji Discord staff reported that game staff said this was an anti hacking measure, but it also messes up the game for players like me who ended up with negative s-jade because of an early game glitch. I was told by in game support that I’d just have to purchase some s-jade but this is very unfair to players like me. I understand wanting to prevent hacking but barring non-transaction actions from players isn’t the way to do it. I’m disappointed at the response and becoming less and less inclined to play a game I’ve had for over a year because of this. Staff should please, start all players with negative or hacked s-jade back at 0 at least so there’s a clean slate, or find a way to counter hackers in a way that’s not game breaking to other players..Version: 1.6.18
