Tonight was terribleI eat here often and tonight was a complete mess! I bought dinner for me and a friend including starters. I asked for the starters to be brought out with the mains, the starters arrived in 20 minutes which was fine, I then asked if the mains were coming out too, they then told me the mains would be out in 40-50 minutes? Once finally receiving the mains we found that the chips were stone cold and dry, the brioche buns were not toasted at all so therefore also dry as they soften up when toasted, the burgers had little to no sauce which again made them dry and dull! No one came to our table to ask how to food was so we didn’t have the chance to complain of bring it to their attention. Overall a very disappointing experience!.Version: 1.9.1

Its a lot.I prefer the simple face to face ordering. Talk to a server/bartender. As a guest to the area downloading an app and creating an account for something i will never use again is tedious. We just wanted a few drinks and maybe a bite..Version: 1.19.0

Big disappointmentWent here on Sunday 30 July with my family and was so disappointed. On arrival we were told that there was no Turkey , gammon or Yorkshire puddings because the oven was down. When we tried to order from the menu we were told there was no fish or all day breakfast. For dessert there was no sticky toffee pudding or ice cream! We waited an hour for our main course then 30 minutes for dessert. I’m aware that weekends are busy but surely proper stock controls would alleviate shortages. I totally understand one item selling out but come on! I don’t think I will ever return and I certainly couldn’t recommend this establishment..Version: 1.25.0

Ducking awful appHard to navigate and generally awful hated it no glass of water option!.Version: 1.13.1

Functional with design flaws and questionable securityGood app to order food and get the job done but it’s design details are lacking. I don’t blame the pubs obviously, just feedback to the developer. Input fields not coded properly so auto fill doesn’t work as it should (email auto fill for postcode??) and the password field won’t load password fill (keychain/LastPass). The “title” field on account edit screen is broke as the previous choice is a default placeholder which stops the form submitting. Screen resolution doesn’t seem optimised for larger iPhone screens. The worse bit from a security perspective is their password reset simply emails you a plaintext password to use instead of an expiring reset URL (it’s not the worst, but as a security analyst, I’m picky). Other than that, I got my food so not all that bad!.Version: 1.10.0

Nothing on this app worksEvery time I input some data the app told me it was wrong. It told me the screen was wrong when I tried to register and made me do it again, when I did it again it told me my account was already registered (no email sent to register), when I changed to my other email account it told me my phone number was already registered (again still not registered). Registered instead with mums details and let me through. Added card details told me payment was incorrect and wouldn’t do it and hadn’t taken money. Inserted same card a second time and went through.Version: 1.12.0

To whoever decided this app strategyThere’s no reason to order from your table via an app. A QR code could lead you to a website that loads quickly and easily, and save the clumsy dance of a 25mb App Store download. I implore you to rethink this. Think about what’s a simple, fast, convenient way of ordering. (Hint: it’s not an app download.).Version: 1.18.0

Long awaited first night outMy colleague and I were frequent visitors to our local Greene King pub in Dunfermline and during a stressful week eagerly awaited our first outing since lockdown and a chance to catch up face to face since March. The staff and set up were brilliant and we settled down to a good old catch up. Working in the care sector it was important that we stayed apart during lockdown so the chance to offload was very welcome. The evening was going well until a staff member inadvertently tipped our pints on San Mig and Peronni over over my colleague. While they hastily cleared up the mess and organised new drinks, never did they ask if we were ok or offer the drinks on the house. My friend’s jeans, top and underwear were soaked and shoes ruined and as a result we had to cut short a very long awaited trip to the pub short as it was really too uncomfortable for her to stay. Really disappointing as it meant so much and other than the mishap the staff and set up were brilliant.Version: 1.10.0

DisappointedI took my dad to the Heath Farm in Congleton for his birthday. The menu looked great and I chose this place as it had a play area for the kids. Firstly there was a strange smell lingering in the restaurant, it just didn’t feel clean. Then the food came. The Vegan Goujons were cremated, chips under cooked, the chicken tikka was like soup and the portion sizes were terrible. I know it’s cheap but definitely doesn’t justify the poor quality of food we received. Lastly, the wacky warehouse, again a very strong smell of urine was unbearable. It felt dirty and unclean. I hate to leave a review like this but I seriously think the restaurant needs looking at. It feels like someone from the management team at Greenking need to visit as the staff obviously don’t care how they present the restaurant or their food - no passion what so ever..Version: 1.13.1

Table to smallWe are two large customers and have been placed on table 23 the smallest table in the place asked if we can move to a larger table as it was nearly empty behind us there was a couple on a table for eight and there was only two sat there also across the road there was a table of four and two was only sat there we were told there was nowhere else in the whole of the pub to sit it is put me off from coming back now because there is no our room or any room for our big plates that are coming very disappointed.Version: 1.12.0

Good food but terrible automated service!The atmosphere and food here is great, but the automated system for ordering is slow, unnecessarily complicated if you don’t already have the app, and allows for no customization whatsoever. If a fast food restaurant can allow a customer to add and subtract components in a meal, one would think a more expensive sit-down restaurant could as well..Version: 1.17.0

App Booking FailFound the pub and entered the details for a booking with ease. It said the booking was confirmed and I could change/manage the booking at any time in the app. A confirmation email would be sent to me... No confirmation email received, and when I went back to the app to check/manage the booking it had disappeared, with no menu shortcut to manage bookings. I made sure that I’d registered a full account with Greene King and tried again. Made a second booking (and took a screenshot of the booking reference this time!). Again, no email confirmation received, and when I went back to the app to check/manage the booking, it had disappeared... again. Tried logging in to the Greene King website portal, but it doesn’t recognise the account registered on the app half an hour before, and says the password is invalid. So, I either have two bookings for the same evening - which I can’t manage/change; or I have no bookings at all? I’ll need to phone the pub to confirm, which renders the app as somewhat useless..Version: 1.12.0

ServiceWaited for an hour for main too arrive and when it arrive which was the 12oz steak it was cold so sent it back with orders not too re heat it then it was reheated and sent back too me which is not at all a good thing too do too a customer in any way shape or form ... so sent it back too the manager and require a full refund on my whole order !!!! Marco sent out a young girl out too apologise then another manager has come out too ask what I would like too eat I’ve spoke too 3 people and still trying to get a refund on this .... a group of 20 people too eat spending a lot of money and this has ruined my night out with my work colleagues!!! TaximanrogerWent to The Star in Gillingham Kent, pre booked to be sure of getting a table only to find it almost empty. The food ordered was steak medium, and chips. When asked if I wanted any condiments was informed they had no vinegar for chips. The steak was edible but to my thinking although it was red meat inside but dry, the outside was burnt and charred but quite possibly the most disappointing was the fact that the table was extremely sticky to the touch almost as though it had been wiped over with a dirty cloth. I was extremely disappointed as l had eaten in there before and it was pleasant and enjoyable.Version: 1.12.0

Ordering takes 30 mins for a pintWe just wanted a dtink each .(a couple). Have to use our App to order !! To get a Wifi link in the park we had to join iCloud wifi .. having got a connection we downloaded the Greene King app.. We then navigated around the GK page to find Allerton Hall Farm pub.. then we navigated around their site for the drinks to order .. they want ALL YOUR details obv for future advertising bombardment .. i said “No” to the 2 choices and the site threw me out .Anyway i did it all again and said “Yes” — and it worked - except it said it didnt recognise me !! So i did it all over again and then my 2 drinks arrived within 5 mins of ordering and paying by card . I was wrecked by the experience being in my 70s .. and drank my pint almost immediately as I was dehydrated .. i could have really done with a second pint immediately - but had lost the will to live !!.Version: 1.13.0

To complicated to order for a groupStarted to use this to order for a group of seven. Didn’t get past tying to set up drinks. Ordering G&T takes two steps, one for gin and another for tonic. Couldn’t order a vodka and soda at all..Version: 1.16.0

Authentication brokenIf you try to create an account with a complex password, it will fail. When you try again with a less complex password, feedback tells you the email address is registered and won’t let you proceed creating an account. I next tried “forgotten password “ to see if I could generate a reset link. Nope. I couldn’t order anything, the pub was demanding the app be used despite it being fatally broken, so left with a party of 8 in disgust and went to a different pub to avoid the problem entirely. This an easily avoidable problem that should have been caught in testing. Totally disgusted with the app.Version: 1.12.0

Simple to use but pointless when staff ignore ordersI first downloaded the app during the Covid pandemic and we loved how efficient and easy it was. In fact we were so impressed several family members downloaded it. But it’s now March 2021 after a few months of it not processing payments resulting in having to order at the bar it seemed to be back up and running. But after trying it at the Bluebell Farm in Worcester we waited 20 mins for drinks. I went up to the empty bar, it was busy but no customers waiting at the time. The barmaid asked if she could help and I said we’d ordered on the app. She tapped away on the screen and said oh yeah I’ll do it now and bring it over. The bar staff aren’t checking. After another 10 minutes I went up to the chef on the carvery as there weren’t any customers waiting. He went into the kitchen to check and came back saying “as you ordered on the app it’ll be at least another 10 minutes because we’re busy” in other words orders from the bar get processed but app orders get ignored until the staff are told to look for them by the customer. So a waste of time using the app. Avoid it and just order at the bar or use Wetherspoon who still respect app orders..Version: 1.14.0

Not just post lockdown teething problems!Went for a family birthday meal in the children’s section. Order system is terrible for a larger party. Service was struggling with demand & we ended up having to get our own cutlery & then eventually clearing our own plates onto a free table just after looking at the mess in front of us for ages. Will not be returning. We had to complain about unruly children running around everyone’s table & the unhealthy covid issue surrounding this , not to mention the safety risks of a child running around with a baby in her arms at the same time..Version: 1.12.0

DisappointedOrdered food on this app at one of the pubs and it took what seems nearly 30 mins to send order after completion and payment taken. Unfortunately the pub in question had a rude and arrogant member of staff that questioned me after asking how long the food would be after waiting 30 minutes already. The person in question claimed they had only received my order 4 minutes prior to me asking. Thankfully Apple Pay verified the I had in fact paid for the order 30 minutes earlier and I asked for a refund for my food and left. App not recommended. Could be better/ user friendlierIt is not intuitive that you have to press the black bar at the bottom of the screen when you add a meal. Your search for drinks depends on the customer knowing which categories you have allocated to drinks for example I tried to search for J2O but i was still in the shandy category so I have to navigate to soft drinks to search for J2O. You’re presented with the full price and you have to click next to receive the pricing discounts and offers - it should not cause doubt or confusion at this point - it should be easy for the the customer to simply buy and wait for their food and drinks..Version: 1.14.0

Difficult first time with the AppNot been since before lockdown and although the front of house host was very helpful the actual first time order wasn't easy. App would not download on my phone even with adequate service so used a second phone which worked. The issue is ordering the meal and the process is not easy. If your not savvy with the internet and apps then you’ll be frustrated trying to sort this first time, it took me 35 minutes to sort it. Also it is a limited menu so best only using the app for choosing rather than the paper menu. Once sorted and ordered then all is good, food is quick and nice and the service was without a problem..Version: 1.11.0

IdioticMaybe they do thinks different in the UK, but I’m literally sitting in the restaurant The Eagle. You have to scan a QR code on the menu to order and there is no cell service where I’m sitting. They have free wifi provided you make an account with your email address. Then you have to download their app. Then to finish your order, you can either take a picture of your debit card, or enter the information. After you enter the information, you need to enter your email address again to “confirm and send you updates. I’m literally sitting less than 30 ft from the bar. I’ve had a waiter walk by. Lunch and its replacement meal were the two worst dishes I’ve been served in yearsThe pub has a lovely setting but the food we were served was appalling. The main dish two of us had tasted disgusting, overcooked with a dried rind to the mashed potatoes. The waiter offered to replace it and would rush it through. We ordered something quick, pizza. It took over 40 mins so they offered a refund, which was kind. As we had to leave for an appointment, it was boxed, but without napkins, without being cut into slices. The dough wasn’t mixed properly, and was chewy like slimy rubber, yet rock hard around the crust, like it had been grilled with the oven not hot enough underneath. The topping was swimming in oil. Both meals were inedible. The staff were good about it, but the chef is dreadful..Version: 1.10.1

Not sureCome here for lunch, we prebooked to ensure we got a table and was able to have lunch, was seated after being rudely told no walk ins without asking if we had booked, once seated we then got asked to move as tat table was reserved for someone else, the next table we were moved to had people on so we had to then wait for another table to be cleared, we had already ordered food so then we had to wait longer for them to transfer the table numbers over. Food was nice which is why 3 star, this place has always been our usual (hungry horse Westwood) however after this visit I’m not too sure we will be coming back until after the social distancing has finished. Not sure why we prebooked a week and half early to then be moved to 3 different tables as we didn’t have a table! The only reason they getting 3 star is due to easiness of this app to download and use and the fact the food was nice.Version: 1.10.0

HorribleWe have taken our mum for a drink and had nothing but issues from the moment we got here. My mother has terminal lung cancer and is in a wheel chair, she struggles to breath and does not wear a mask- now this is clear from looking at her, however the chap on the door told my brother that she MUST wear a mask! When we explained that she can’t he then demanded to know what medical condition she has in order not to wear a mask! How dare he!! I work in retail hospital and completely understand the strain workers are under but what gives him the right to ask such personal questions We have only been five n the news that she’s terminal 3 weeks ago and she is very stressed as it is!! After we told him that she can’t wear a mask he left us in the door, in the cold and damp to go and see if he had a table! No compassion at all.Version: 1.10.1

GoodThis is the 2nd occasion on a Saturday afternoon we have ordered a sizzling hunters chicken skillet only to be served with almost cold chicken on a plate with no fried onions. The excuse was the same as last time that no one had washed the skillets. I mean…really? We sent the food back and asked for what we ordered, and to be fair the serving guy did take it away and apologised, and brought us 2 steaming hot sizzling skillets 5 minutes later. We did enjoy the food, but please take on board that please don’t fob off paying customers with anything other than what they have ordered. Mr LRHOn arrival couldn’t have one quiet sensible child sat in a quiet outside area so had to put up with screaming kids in the garden. Had to split our family up in order to have a few drinks. Table service in one area but app only ordering just outside the area, who comes up with this stuff!!! App does not work well if at all and when it does has issues with logging in. Took 5 attempts and 15 minute to order something after finding out you don’t have to sign up with your vital statistics and shoe size IF you can find the hidden button that allows as you to pay as a guest!! Absolute madness… my suggestion… Buy some beers from the supermarket at a quarter the price and drink them in the garden at home!! It’s a dam sight easier!!.Version: 1.12.0

Needs Additional OptionsThe app is generally clear and straightforward but there’s nowhere to add comments for food and drink preferences. They only option available when ordering mixed grill is how you want your steak cooked, no further options available to remove items -eg no mushroom/fried onions, and no option to substitute chips for fries or other. We wanted an onion ring stacker to come out with the main but no option to request this. When ordering spirits with a mixer you get redirected to another part of the app for the mixer and it’s added to the order as a separate drink. If you’re of the older generation this could have been confusing. The Wetherspoons app is easier in this respect. The whole experience of this app is enough to put you off going out for a meal..Version: 1.13.0

Not greatWe have ordered via app so it’s clear what we have ordered But unfortunately there was mix up with out order and our wings got different sauces so the kids one got sweet chilli spilled all over it instead of bbq and mine got the same sauce apparently made in bbq instead of piri piri, when I pointed that out the waiter went away came back ,took one sauce and told me it’s mine not his, when I said I have piri piri and the little boy bbq and this is sweet chilli she has stormed out, 5 min after someone else brought the wings back, clearly the same as the sweet sauce was still spilled on the wings and slammed them down , really rudely. I don’t mind there was a mistake made, obviously that happens and I wasn’t waiting for and apology but don’t be rude when it’s actually your mistake.Version: 1.8
