✓ OkayFrom my perspective I think that the app is good but needs some fixes. One is that the words are some Cantonese and some mandarin. Next the 10 hour wait just to get 5 minutes a day is bad. You have to be in the morning early and do it in the night. That could potentially make stress on a person. Finally I still think you should try it. ✓ Great, but..Coming from a Cantonese speaker who grew up with it, this is a great app for those who are learning Cantonese and it’s easy to pick up and learn for 5 minutes each day to improve which words you want and don’t want to learn. I’m pleased that you still have access to everything even if you’re not paying for the subscription and that’s definitely a plus coming from a language app. The ads are fairly minimal and are “clean” in the sense that they’re primarily ads that advertise for you to get the premium version of the app with some ads advertising for another language app, so they still remain relevant even if you’re hit with an ad every so often. The only thing that I would like to see implemented in this app is the ability to take a placement test for those who are trying to improve upon their Cantonese that already know a good amount, so people who have an intermediate level of understanding it are able to challenge themselves or improve upon what they already know..Version: 34.80
✓ Good app but quite a lot of errorsMy other half downloaded this app to learn spoken Cantonese. It’s a great app for learning languages in general but I’ve noticed quite a lots of errors. For example, the dubbing for 我餵 (ngo wei3) was ngo wei6 (wrong tone), the choice of word for cherry was 櫻桃, which was the written term, people in Hong Kong would find you very weird to call cherry that. It’s should be 車厘子. Broccoli (西蘭花) became 椰菜花 (cornflower) and avocado (牛油果) became 牛油 (butter) in the app. They also used the Taiwanese terms 馬鈴薯 and 覆盆子 for what we call 薯仔 (potato) and 紅梅 (raspberry) respectively in Hong Kong. I can go on forever. There are just way too many errors. But still, it’s very a nice app to learn Cantonese from..Version: 29.14

✓ One of the best Cantonese Learning AppsIt is pretty good. The lessons use gamification to make learning Cantonese fun. Smooth UI that transitions from word to word flawlessly. Shows the character, pronunciation, image that represents the character, and the English translation of the character. You can slow down the pronunciation of Cantonese if you tap on the character a few times as well. Duolingo and other popular apps really didn’t work out for me because they are so overrated and they don’t do as great as drops. Drops teaches the languages in such a way that the use doesn’t get bored. The best thing about it is that it’s very cheap.
