✓ An Simple Game for the RPG EnthusiastI first came across this game on Apple Suggestions, and found it to be quite entertaining. The gameplay is easy to understand, and the devices in the game enhance it rather than confusing the objective. I also found the fact that you can play this game easily without paying to be refrashing. So few games today can escape the pay-to-play mentality without ads fouling gameplay. This game simply provides entertaining play, and uses revives and extra supplies rather than ad blocking to encourage spending. So in conclusion, pros: simplicity, engagement, lack of consumeristic material. The aspects of this game that I found irritating were few yet present. After a while, the gameplay becomes menotonous. I won’t spoil the events for you, but after a while, the events repeat many times. The special events like the construction of a vehicle are so difficult to obtain that you have to grind for weeks to reach the point where you can experience new scenarios, and for a person with less patience for repetition, you may find yourself going days before returning to the game. ✓ The recent updatesHello, I absolutely love your game, but one issue I had was the new fight system. Although I like the slider, I very much preferred the rng of the fights before. It was a system that used skill points, like an rpg. The higher you level it, the higher your chance of avoiding the hit, and landing a hit. It was a lot faster too, as you could just hit the attack button a bunch if you’re confident. I used to zoom through fights because I could spam the button because I had a pretty high amount of skill points invested into my strength and ability to dodge. Now it takes me a considerably longer amount of time to do fights. You don’t have to change it back, but I preferred the other way of fighting more. Still a great game..Version: 3.015

Buggy on my iOSWriting this review to try and figure out the issue this game is having with my phone (XS Max 15.4.1) I enjoy playing this game a lot and pop on several times a day - my playing time is severely restricted due to the game’s performance after about 7-10 minutes: severe lag, freezing screen and iOS altogether, seems like it *should* crash but can’t/doesn’t and I’ll occasionally have to force close while it’s laggy and frozen - my phone takes almost a full minute to recuperate and function normally again. ✓ Been journeying for over 10,000 daysAn addicting game, you play The Wanderer at your own pace, rationing supplies to keep you (and a pet?) alive in a radioactive future. A few things I’ve noticed- 1) the “(best)” pet level score keeps climbing past what my best actually was. It’s essentially adding my new pet’s level to my old pet’s level, so it’s inaccurate. 2) I’ve accidentally thrown away too many valuable items because of the size and location of the button. PLEASE add a confirmation screen before throwing away. 3) Charisma doesn’t seem to decrease any prices. In fact I’ve only noticed increases. (I am also able to SELL my items for more, but you should also be able to BUY for less). 4) With MAX Intelligence, at danger area 3/5, my attack success with a pipe should be higher than 66%. 5) The “please consider rating our game” screen did not redirect me to this page. ✓ Good game tho a little buggyIt’s a cute little game, I like the setup and the general concept and it is a fun little time burner. I’ve easily wasted like an hour on it and I’ve had it for less than a day. That being said, it’s a little glitchy. There was a period of time where certain buttons like “Throw Away” would just randomly flash bright eye-burning colors. I also can’t read any of the trade items because half of the words are cut off. My karma would also occasionally randomly drop? I didn’t think there was a timer on it/any event indicating a karma loss so I’m just assuming that’s a bug as well. All and all it’s a good game, if a little repetitive. It serves its purpose. I’d like to see more events/actions and maybe a few less bugs in a future update. ✓ Pretty good strategy rpgI don’t normally write reviews, but I feel this game deserves one. The visuals are surprisingly easy to look at and the game flows in an interesting way. First off, it’s strange how you can only sell things for incredibly cheap prices. It’s basically not worth selling anything at all, and that means a lot of the economy in the game is quiet frankly horrible. You use your caps to pay for upgrades or but expensive merchandise. You can’t pay other survivors for their items, you can only trade what you already have. I’m also unsure of what tokens are still and I’ve been playing for roughly a collective hour, which for mobile games can be some time. Although I have issues with the economy, I enjoy the rpg of the game, the combat system is quite fun if you don’t switch it, and going place to place hoping for the right items can be kind of nice. You have to balance what you bring, or pay to upgrade your space. I’m not too far into the game yet, but I recommend the play, especially since it’s free with so few ads..Version: 7.00021

✓ Fun game, wish it was betterThe game is fundamentally outstanding. Could use a tweak to the pay to play versus not paying and having to grind for hours to get anywhere decent. The longevity of the game is largely dependent on how fun you find doing the same thing over and over, and over, and over. Bullets go by much too fast, and are expensive so the best way to replenish is to craft, but everything worth building or crafting costs metal... so bullets or upgrades. Tough call. You hardly do any damage with max melee so you have to resort to using a weapon or gun to take down higher level enemies, but the durability is trash so have fun with that. All in all it’s a fun game, but leaves room for so much that could make it fantastic. My stats are pretty high, and I’m becoming more strong and tanky, but it’s terribly difficult to find loot IMO. My luck isn’t the highest tho… Honestly, there are just not enough shops and the map is very unrealistic. Death Road to Canada is better than this, 100%. The places are randomly scattered on the map it seems, and it takes way too much time to travel. It would be better if the places on the map were designed more realistically… Maybe instead of five homes in a city, we could be informed that the neighborhood has 10 homes and we could be asked to search 1 house, one by one. ✓ Great Game, Update Poses Some IssuesSo far, the game has been great. The last update, however, has created a major issue: none of my consumables appear in my storage or bag, and the only way i even know i have them is when I'm selling or the weight of the bag/storage. This means i can not eat or drink at all, and currently i risk death. Because of this, i can’t travel. Until this gets fixed, the game is useless. Aside from the issues with the recent update, the game has been fantastic and I have enjoyed playing it. It is very simple and easy to understand, and there are always challenges along the way. I especially like the fact that i just developed a mutation that gives me radiation immunity, that was very realistic. On the whole, the game is actually pretty realistic and as soon as the issue above is fixed I look forward to playing it more..Version: 4.039

Overall I think this game has everything you could ask for from trading to combat (with stats) however the only flaw I can see right now is the value of items. ✓ Fun game.To start out, this is a really fun game. I’ve been enjoying it for about a week now and I’m on lvl 48. It reminds me a lot of fallout, just less buggy. I really enjoy the exploration with all the updates on the time and what’s going on around the character. There are some things I would change about it. Having the map tell you what you have already explored and what is just there because of a map piece(that might just be me tho, I’m bad at keeping track of things) having a constantly updating goal for the goal bar would be nice too, as it’s kinda overwhelming to see all the things you can craft and upgrade and not have an objective of what to do first. ✓ Fallout3 meets Oregon trailThis is a real review. Got to level 31 in about 4hrs of FTP gameplay. Ads are non intrusive. 8bit graphics give a nice nostalgic retro feel. Used perception and luck as beginning primary stats and no regrets there. Used archaeologist as my background, if I reroll I'd most likely choose the one which starts out with the pet as it has many upsides and few disadvantages. Casual play and turn based combat and prompts let's the user pass the time easily without stressing or concerns about pausing gameplay. Basically a pip boy style map allows travel to new and existing locations. Travel to and from camp gives retro Oregon trail style survival encounters with choices, rewards, and penalties. The only complaint I have is with the general gameplay loop. Again, i’m only 30 days in but feel like i’ve about hit the ceiling of what to expect. Some diversity in the text boxes other than “I climbed a big hill” or “i’m feeling optimistic” would be great. Maybe sometimes my dog does something funny? If you want you can try to learn the game a little more to get better. The mechanics and gameplay are easy to learn though at the first few times you would either get licky or die alot. Learning from mostakes is a valuable skill in getting better. Definitely try to best yourself from your last play through! Overall though I havent found too many issues. The search system is solid though a bit unfair at times since building something to level up the building skill tales ages. A suggestion would be to provide atleast 2 more level points at the start to better the chances of finding things, either that or add a city map or area in the map where buildings are clustered in. ✓ Honestly SurprisedThis game was a little iffy looking to me at first, some of the items are rather difficult to get a sense of what they do when you find them but if you look at them in the proper screen you can see their actual descriptions. I died on my first character pretty fast and then had a better idea of what to do. My suggestion to any new players is to get a dog and fight everything while trying to keep your karma high. Clean food and water over everything, then meds, then weapons and finally the rest loot should be the priority imo. Always take into account your weight but don’t be afraid to bring stuff with you, especially on long journeys..Version: 7.00042

I do have permadeath on and both I and my dog died already but we were saved by the ad. Not sure how normal death works but I feel like that’s a little against the point? I guess I’m not complaining though. However, after I died, even though I selected English as my language, my game was suddenly in French (which is the set language on my phone) and I don’t know how to change it back so that’s a little bothersome. ✓ Interesting and funI really enjoy this game a lot. I used to play Fallout Shelter, but it got boring over time. I came across this game after doing some research and I fell in love with it. I really like the set up of the game and that it lets you tap to fast travel a hour of gameplay when you’re traveling to new or old locations. You can collect different items while traveling and searching the world. It also lets you upgrade your characters skills and you get to choose which skill you want to upgrade which is cool. You also run into bad guys out in the world, and you choose to fight them and take their inventory items, or simply run away, it’s completely up to you and doesn’t force you to fight. ✓ Great little gameThis little game has done many things right, the mood, the music, the atmosphere, etc. It reminds me the first time I played fallout 2 on my pc, more than 20 years ago, and I think this game is more “fallout” than fallout shelter in spirit, although that is also a great game. I have noticed that the “crafting table” can not be upgraded, for some reason, and this just happened today, hopefully this issue will be addressed soon. ✓ A few bugsThis game is great, I've already spent hours and hours in it and I love the concept. I'm only putting one star due to one of the issues softlocking the game. Attempting to attack an enemy without a weapon equipped causes it to endlessly play the punch sound but not actually do anything. I ended up having to restart the game once because of this issue. The second issue is with hammers. I've no clue what they do but everytime I attempt to pick up one it vanishes from existence not even adding its weight to my bag. Also I’m scared of throwing away dirty water in order to get the empty bottle because I *think* if you throw it away you lose the bottle too… which doesn’t really make sense, seeing as you can drink the water, dirty or otherwise (or assumably feed it to your pet if I ever find one) and keep the empty bottle. Also seems weird that when you make a bottle of fresh water from two bottles of dirty water the empty bottles disintegrate there too… Mostly it’s water mechanics, I suppose, that I’d like to be more… *transparent*….Version: 7.00071

✓ Fun and engaging, but a few rough edgesSo far I’m quite enjoying The Wanderer. The gameplay isn’t hugely varied but that hasn’t seemed to limit my desire to expand further and progress my character. There is enough detail in the mechanics, and the game itself if well balanced enough that it’s still a tightrope walk to make sure you don’t stray too far outside your effective range and get stomped on. The downsides are mainly the rough edges for what I assume is either a relatively new game, or one which has grown a rapidly. The most recent update added full-time banner ads at the top of the screen and was crudely done - the ads obscure part of the status info up there. They also appear over the in-game ads which you’ll need to use in order to fast travel, unless you have extra deep pockets to pay your way through the game. I also find the portrait layout rather frustrating as I keep my iPad in a keypad case, which means that the iPad becomes very awkward to hold. There are some other minor gripes, but I’m sure they will get polished up in the coming months as there does seem to be active development and improvement going on (hopefully those interface issues will be resolved.).Version: 7.00035

The game feels like it pays omage to fall out which is cool but for me the auto fill for the van doesn’t seem to work :( also I wish we could sell the extra car parts we find it doesn’t seem it’s an Option so far alongside adding more cooking options such as chickens etc or a horse as a different option from the van as finding fuel can be difficult.Version: 7.00065

The fighting in this game is great too except for the damage done between guns and hand held weapons. Because the pipe does so much damage it makes the pistol kind of useless even though the bullets are so hard to find. I think the damage for guns should be improved a decent amount and when building the bullets in the shelter create x5 bullets instead of just x1 based of the amount of materials used. This game is literally chill while also being strangely addictive. It starts out feeling complicated but it turns out to be very simple. There are three steps to have fun that I learned: 1: Pay attention to your storage. If you exceed the amount without noticing you’ll lose items over time, and it’s very frustrating. 2: Notice your crafting table. It seems dumb at first then becomes very helpful. 3: A lot of weapons break quickly, so if you use skill points to upgrade strength, you can do decent damage with just your fists and now knife, or nail bat. But overall: this game is one of my top three favs for sure. Highly recommended. This was once a black, pixelated character running, you had to survive as long as possible keeping needs high and trading whenever you want. Clean water and canned food was rare in this version and I see this game as a great improvement from it. Here is some tips for beginner players: 1. Don’t go too far into the map until you get stronger. Because if your too weak and get attacked, it’s your fault you went into an area, with dangerous properties. 2. Think about your choices. Choosing reckless choices can get you badly hurt. Think about it, is it dangerous? Will illness or radiation get to you if you make that choice? Think about how dangerous the options could be and pick a safer one before you get stronger. 3. Don’t spend all your skill points on one stat. It’s pretty slow starting unless you straight up build your intelligence skill and eat as many candies before level 20 as you can. ✓ Great game with only minor issuesVery fun game, the combat mechanics work like a arcade mini game and some choices have a impact on the player like knowing you stealing their supply may kill them. However, a few mechanics can ruin this balance of Choices. When you level up, you lose your radiation and illness levels sleep as your food and water bars refill. This also for you to just ignore food, level up and add all your stats into intelligence and never die unless you can’t do combat. ✓ Help!I love this game and have been grinding it out recently however I changed the difficulty options and added the scale with player and scale with time option. After playing for a bit I clocked that I way prefer the tapping for attack/defence/escape bar rather than just depending on stats. I tried to deselect the option but there was no difference. I have tried multiple times deleting and re-downloading the game- losing all my progress in the process, however the new option won't go away even though none of the difficulty settings were selected. Is there a way I can clear the cache/data for the game so I can start fresh? Including the free tokens at the beginning and reset of the options. Please help! Thanks!.Version: 7.00087

✓ Really Awesome!This game was a surprising little gem to find! I love survival type games and text based adventure and this neatly combines the two in a mobile game that remarkably isn’t in any way obnoxious about ads or is secretly p2w like many other games are. In fact I have found myself voluntarily watching ads not to get ahead in the game but just to support the developer, because this game is genuinely fun. It’s a wonderful combination of chill and apocalyptic survival, as you don’t feel too much pressure in the game but still enjoy playing it. There are some small things I would suggest tweaking For example, pressing the map controls like the magnifier and minimiser selects a locations on the map, which is like very mildly frustrating And I would love a “confirm” notice for throwing items away As well as perhaps a symbol on the “Mark Items” button that shows whether it’s on or off? I spent ages looking for all the parts I needed to repair a camper van and once I did that everything just seemed pointless after that. I had looked on every location of the map and there was no where to go and nothing to do. ✓ Great Game. Sadly lost progressThis is a great game. Big fan of survival games but so many of them just become pay to play and this really allows you to put in the work and get something out of it. However, I managed to work my way up to 200 storage space at my camp and then lost it and was back at 50 storage then spent thousands and thousands of caps to get back up to 110 and then lost it back to 50 but then updated the game and am back to 110. I spent hours playing and spent a lot of caps to have 200 storage space at camp and now had to spend a lot of caps to get back to even 110. Just hope there’s a way to make sure that I don’t spend hours only to lose progress again. Everything else is fantastic though. It just made me hesitate knowing that I could lose the work I put into it..Version: 4.039

✓ Pretty good, but a little unclearI love this game, it’s like if 7 days to die was mobile and pixelated. But the car, which is arguably your biggest asset, you need to buy with real world currency. Despite the fact that you spend so much time just getting the stuff you need to make it, and you still need to pay for it on top of all that work. Another issue is that it is unclear in the beginning what crafting is, and how to do it, because of this you end up not getting the stuff you need for a shower or a water purifier, when if you had, you’d be way better off than living with a mutation you can’t cure, and poor because you have spent all your caps on food water, and extra storage, which is another that is unclear, I didn’t realize you could expand your storage until my second run. All that being said, it is a good game and it is worth it. You don’t actually need the car, it’s just harder without it, which I guess is part of challenge. You don’t need a water purifier.
