✓ GlitchesI just got this app and within a few seconds of clicking on a video it glitches out and sent me back to the home page. It’s done this multiple times and I can’t get more than 5 seconds of a video without it glitching our. Very disappointed..Version: 2.7.0
✓ Changes RUINED this experienceHave loved Drybar for years and I confess Ive seen every single comedian they have on this app to date of this review. Would have been 5 stars for sure. However, I guess they have learned that nothing is truly free and they are now charging to watch the comedians. Perhaps this is fine for those new to the app, but for me, a VERY longtime user, this is unacceptable. I will support the comedians i like, but this has now become a JASS (just another subscription service). Whats next, an option to listen to comedians that arent clean? Dont like the direction and subscriptions are a budget "no" for me so consider this app deleted from me phone. I will definitely miss the clean comedy. ✓ Good idea, app needs workGood idea, but app is a bit clunky. As many other have stated it doesn’t run in the background or have the ability to cast. I once used the search feature to look up a comedian I liked and it came up with zero results, however listed the comedian right below the search results in “recently watched” section ?? Third I’ve never been able to tip. I have an iPhone and haven’t seen where I can setup an account to tip. So when I attempt to tip I get the same error, waiting for payment approval..Version: 2.7.0
✓ Bugs- so many bugsFirst there is no search icon. Not a bug I know. The screen also does not turn sideways without having to do it multiple times to get the app to do it correctly. Then while watching the app the screen goes dark and bring up the pause/rewind/fast foreword screen with out being triggered. Who wrote this app? I mean really? They were willing to put their name in this piece of work? Oh it was someone/company named VidAngel. Wonder if the actually put this on their resume. The saving grace was that I loved the comics..Version: 2.6.10
✓ Love the comedy but...It is extremely rare to be able to find content that is wholesome like the comedy on the DryBar comedy app, that is why it pains me to only give it three stars. I have not been able to get the app to play for about two to three days and a couple of the comedians, seemingly on purpose, snuck in a couple of curse words. At least a couple of them have eluded to adult content with a wink and a smile, if you will. All of that being said the majority of the comedians on here are respectful and very funny. ✓ Screw youThis app was ok I could watch every now and again a comic or 2 but some just weren’t funny. I could then tip if I wanted to. Recently you changed the app and made it subscription. I didn’t update my app and was still able to use the old way. But now it has been stopped from functioning forcing me to update. I updated and now you want me to sign up. ✓ Warming to existing usersSo their older version that just called “Dry Bar Comedy” has all free content. If you have the older version, DO NOT update the app!!!! ✓ Good content, horrible app.I LOVE the content on this app, but that is where my love stops. 1-You cannot continue to play the audio of a video of the phone or tablet is locked, the video must be showing in order to hear the audio (that’s dumb). 2-Can’t resume a video at your last viewed point. You have to manually find your spot on the video. 3-Can’t continue to listen to audio if you minimize the app. The only way to open another application or do anything else on your phone/tablet while listening is to turn on PIP from the landscape position. 4-No settings whatsoever. Can’t creat a profile, can’t sign in to one, can’t change any settings like the problems above. 5-can’t brows other videos to add to your favorite and still listen or watch the video you are viewing. If you want to minimize or hit back from the video you are in, you will exit out of the audio and video you are watching and likely lose your spot in that video. ✓ I love dry bar but please!I love the comedians! I love the app I love what you’re doing with the industry, I have a iPhone 11 I’m at home my WiFi is on and strong, and for some reason the video won’t work no matter what I click on! I tried restarting my phone deleting and redownloading the app, but I cannot get videos to play! And you guys just did an update, before that it was a whole other issue with lagging and crashes! And honestly I’ve donated to The comedians a good amount I KNOW that you guys are receiving a cut of that, invest in proper software and get the app where it needs to be for ALL PLATFORMS. ✓ Good app needs workThe Good: Great comedy selection. Some of my favorite comedians are on here and I definitely look forward to discovering some new ones. Menu is pretty easy to navigate and videos don’t buffer every five seconds like other comedy apps. The Bad: some minor bug fixes are definitely needed... after loading and watching my first video, the app won’t reload the menu properly without shutting down and restarting the app just a minor inconvenience. Some videos are loading with only sound no picture. And occasionally the screen won’t rotate properly so again shut down and restart to fix. The Ugly: It does have scene selection however when I’ve used it, it seems to start all of these problems all at once. Overall a great app, if the bugs were worked out it’d definitely be a 5 star review for me..Version: 2.6.10

✓ Hilarious, clean comedy, but tips?The one thing that bothers me is that the comedians solicit tips. There’s a tip button that says “this is a critical way the comedians get paid” While I think that if they’re not making enough money from VidAngel they should get better paying gigs, the tip button doesn’t bother me so much as when the comedians flat out ask for tips like: “I’m such and such. Thanks for watching my special. If you enjoyed it, there is a tip button at the bottom of your screen. You can tip as much as you want.” (Or things along those lines).Version: 2.6.10

✓ I have a love/hate relationship with this appEvery week, I try to watch a new comedian and they all make me laugh like crazy. But, I find it frustrating to use this app at the same time, for the following reasons: 1. Because when you open it, you have to wait for it to load up, then after it’s loaded, you attempt to open a video to play and watch, but it reloads all the videos 2. After all the videos have reloaded, and going to the bottom of the selection, as I do, I tap on the next one to watch. That’s the good part. But the bad part about that is, after you have started the video, sometimes the video plays without any problems, but more often than not the video does NOT play at all! That’s the part I hate. 3. Also, after watching the video of choice, whether you watch it all or part of it, when you tap the icon to close the video, it refreshes the list, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! WHY??? It’s a pain to go all the way back to the bottom of the list to find the video you started to watch. This also happens with the ‘favorites’ list. None of these problems have anything to do with my connection at all, because everything else on my phone work just fine. It’s this app alone!.Version: 2.6.6
✓ The App is great...if you can get it to workI am a huge fan of Dry Bar, I follow them on just about every platform. I was really excited to have the app but I have had nothing but problems since I downloaded it. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling on more than one occasion. The problem is I ALWAYS get a black screen when the video starts. Without fail I have to close and reopen the app several times to get the picture and then it’ll usually freeze mid performance. Sometimes I’ll give up and just “listen” to the performance but the screen will time out because the phone doesn’t recognize that anything is playing. ✓ Started free, now pure subscriptionWhen I first download this app it was free, and the comedians got great exposure. Now with subsequent updates, it is 100% paid to play. I haven’t been able to watch anything anymore without it telling me to subscribe. And as such I am going to immediately delete it. ✓ Was Great, but Now...Review Update: this was easily a five star app, that became a three star app when I updated to iOS 13 (see review below). However, with the updates of iOS 13 to fix its bugs, this app has been rendered completely useless. All I get is a black screen and the zoom in/out arrow circle. So very disappointed. ✓ GlitchyApp is very glitched, screen rotates back and forth between full view on its own and when I the full screen view the video turns into just a small box in the top left corner and you can’t fix it. Also the pause options like to pop up and most of the times those buttons don’t even work and you can’t get them off of the screen. I’ve only watched two specials and and so annoyed I am deleting the whole app together. As I’ve been sitting here the problems are just getting worse and I’m worried this app will screw up my phone. ✓ The app is badly designedFirst off there is no timer on the progress bar so you have no idea if your show has five minutes left or half an hour left. There are buttons to go forward and backward but they go forward 30 seconds and backwards only 10. The progress bar is also always at the bottom of the screen and never goes away. Dry bar has been my favorite new app. Over the last week I’ve listened to quite a few comedians who were amazing and clean. Jeff Allan, Dennis Regan, Brad Upton, Kevin Jordon, Zoltan Kaszaz , & Keven Bosman were a few I remember really liking. However tonight I ask my daughter to watch some clean comedy on this new clean comedy app I found. My daughter and I started watching Patrick Keene’s set & to my surprise pretty soon after he started he was talking about his Mom asking him if he’s getting laid by his girlfriend so we turned it off. We were both embarrassed. I didn’t want to wait around for the entire joke & good thing I had the remote in hand. May have lost a subscriber. I must say you are a lot cleaner than Netflix or HBO but you shouldn’t call yourself clean comedy if you’re not..Version: 2.6.10
✓ Not quite 100% cleanEDIT: Holy crow. They fixed the “clean” issue but introduced a subscription service with seemingly no warning. What a dirty move. I need to preface this review by saying I love Dry Bar Comedy and VidAngel. I appreciate having a hub for tons of clean comedy specials and the app works decently well (with a couple of notes from the other reviewers applying). However, I need to address the issue of "clean". They must define "clean" in a different way than I do because there have been some rather close-cutting sexual innuendos and I've even heard a curse word in Bone Hampton's comedy special in "It Is What It Is". I'm a huge fan of Bone's work but cursing should never be labeled as "clean" and neither should jokes that have innuendos in them. Should these issues be addressed, I'd be more than happy to give a 5-star review, but however much the "clean" part is generally true, there have been some particularly sour exceptions..Version: 7.001.1
✓ Amazing comedy, clunky and useless appWatched quite a few of the shows on Facebook, decided to get the app. The comedians are hysterical and I’m so glad there are so many to choose from. HOWEVER the app is incredibly slow and buggy. It rarely ever lets me skip ahead (which I have to do when I try to continue watching a video where I left off...so it starts you over and then is so buggy it won’t let me fast forward), I attempted the laugh button—no go. And most of the time I can’t even watch full screen because it won’t convert and just plays a small screen with the pause button and back/forward a few seconds buttons over the screen...which I can rarely ever get to go away. And then if I want to pause it...it doesn’t pause despite the massive pause button that lives over the clip almost at all times (and if it goes away, it’s a fluke, it seems). I’m so disappointed. This app has some great potential, but there needs to be some changes to make it actually usable and with watching it here and not just on Facebook watch—which is where I will be watching the comedy from now on. (Maybe I’ll check back in occasionally to see if anything has improved...I hope so!) —iPhone user. I do have an iPhone 6, so maybe that has something to do with it...but if I’ve updated the latest version of software and I don’t have any issues on any other app, I would hope it’s not necessarily my phone that’s causing issues..Version: 2.6.10

✓ Amazing comedy hindered by a buggy experienceI love watching Dry Bar Comedy videos, but the app really makes it hard to enjoy them. The player is absolutely buggy to the point where I avoid touching the controls, while hoping that they won’t lock up. The controls do work sometimes, but otherwise they will lag out. It takes multiple seconds for an action to register and any subsequent tap or action will also take a long while. ✓ Ruined a good thingNew version of app tried to improve the terrible UI and create a paywall since the donations were not flowing in. The UI change got rid of one of the most important filters which was to see reviews to help filter the good from the mediocre. So now all the videos are equal in that sense in an attempt to give everyone equal footing. The biggest issue is that they now want a subscription for the majority of the content. I’m sorry but no thank you, you need more revenue ok but do it with ads or other means… don’t put onus on customers. It’s a real shame as there were some fantastic gems here and clean comedy is hard to find..Version: 7.205.1
✓ Latest upgrade is really a severe downgradeThe new Dry Bar Plus version 7.0 changes Dry Bar 2.7 by moving from viewable pay-after videos to a pay-before subscription model. ✓ Great comedy, TERRIBLE UI since updateI absolutely LOVE the comedy. Many of these have me in stitches and I watch almost every day during lunch to “keep it real”. However, since the last update the UI is TERRIBLE. As a few others I’m have stated, when you open the app, there is a random short clip that automatically starts playing. But you have to wait for it to buffer then start, then pause it so you can go to the actual videos. Otherwise it will just continue to play in the background. Also, although there is an indicator on each video in the full (long) list of videos of which ones you’ve watched, there is no longer a separate section of videos you’ve watched or videos you’ve started and would like to finish. So if I started an older video yesterday, I either have to remember which on it was and search for it, or scroll through the long list until I find it again. I’d much rather have a section that simply shows videos I haven’t finished yet like they had before the update. And that “home” screen with the video clips that start automatically is completely useless. Developers: please get rid of that silly home screen and bring back the ability to easily see the videos I’ve started without having to scroll through all of them. Thanks!.Version: 2.6.5

✓ The ‘+’ means more money!Don’t bother downloading this app. The new version is just a money grab. It used to be free to watch and I tipped frequently. Now they’ve joined everyone else and their mother in going to a subscription model. I liked to sit down and grab a show every once in a while. Not enough to make any sort of subscription worth it. “It’s less than $5/month!”, you might say… so is the subscription for app A, app B, App C and so on. Next thing you know, you’re paying $150/month is subscriptions for things you probably only use here or there. This new model is a shame and I hope comics don’t bother booking at Dry Bar. I’m not paying monthly to watch and that means fewer eyes on the shows and fewer tips in the coffer for the comics (and you just *know* Dry Bar took a cut of those, too)..Version: 7.001.2
✓ Great content, buggy appI know it’s a free app and the content is great but if you are going to put an app out there it really needs to be less bug ridden. Changing from portrait to landscape take 5 seconds and leaves the playback controls on the screen for another 10-15. Once a video is playing tapping the screen takes 10-15 seconds for controls to reappear, if they ever do. Don’t know if this is a result of the latest app upgrade (been a little while since I used it) or a result of the latest iOS upgrade (13.3.1) which I just did the other day.Version: 2.6.10

I knew the day would come that you’d need to start charging subscriptions. I wish it didn’t have to be. So many families cannot afford to pay for extra-monthly payments than what we already do pay for life necessities. So sad to say it, but we shall part ways here. However, Please know that I don’t feel bad because Drybar isn’t free anymore. I’m more concerned for the livelihood of the comedians. I hope you survive this change, or decide to come back to no subscription, when you realize the tipping has plummeted. I hope the comedians demand it be switched back because I’m sure their tips will dwindle to little or nothing compared to what they were getting previously. So, I hope this change is for the good but you have just dropped a lot of these comedians support from non-subscription viewers and fans. ✓ Funny people but awful interfaceThe people on this are funny and I enjoy listening to them, but it doesn’t have a full screen option and it also doesn’t have a way to save your favorite comedians. You can only favorite certain shows they did. Personal preferences aside, it glitches out constantly by having the show you selected disappear bringing you back to the menu to select another one without a way to get back to your selected one. Another problem is the fact that it won’t interact or respond to where you have tapped on the screen but will close out a few moments after you try to skip forward a segment or try to select a segment later on..Version: 2.6.10

✓ Amazing comedians, concept, and overall very good appI love the concept where you can watch shows and follow your favorite comedians but I would love for the app to work even when the phone is off and when you’re on other apps because i truly do love the app. That’s one major thing I would love for you guys to do but when I play a show it automatically freezes the screen but not the actual clip of the comedian. ✓ Bring back old versionThis _was_ a great app with great entertainment. Every night I’d pick a comic and get 1/2 hour or more of chuckles while I fell sleep. The latest up date isn’t worth your time. The screen is stuck on the announcement that there’s been an update. There is a “Got it” button but it’s 1/2 hidden behind a “library” button and neither one of them work. A random comic starts talking and loops back every 4 or 5 minutes repeating his routine again and again. His jokes were funny the first time but wear thin by the 4th time. After poking everything on the screen, I finally pushed ”Drybar” at the top of the page. I got to a different screen and comic but the first comic kept going. Had to go back and pause him so I could hear the 2nd. The second only spoke for a few minutes at time before there was either a commercial or a repeat of his spiel. I deleted and downloaded again to no avail. I’m sorry to lose this app and the fun, clean humor it provided. When you fix the superbug that killed your audience, please let me know and I’ll be the first to sign up again..Version: 2.6.5

✓ Great comedians, laggy glitchy buggy appIn case you didn’t know, there are several issues with the app. It’ll crash for the smallest things, if I want to use the laugh button, crash. If I want to turn the phone sideways, crash. If I want to skip, crash. It’s not every single use, but it happens more and more often. I really enjoy Dry Bar. The comedians are HILARIOUS, I personally don’t think you have to swear or be nasty to be funny. So I LOVE Dry Bar, but this app is such a disappointment! ✓ Trying to like it, but...I really want this app to work but even with my iPhone 11 it’s constantly freezing and the features won’t work. If I favorite one it doesn’t show up under the favorites area. If I try to go forward or back it responds to that tap after a full 5 -10 seconds so if you do it more than once it’s a mess. The screen gets stuck halfway between playing and the search area if you try to manipulate or go back. If the developers would fix it to work properly I think people would really use it and be willing to tip the comedians. As is, it will likely get deleted. A real shame....Version: 2.6.10

I have nothing against swearing and off color humor, but in my opinion it takes more talent to be funny when you can tell a story without using profanity as a crutch. When it actually enhances the punchline then it’s a treat.) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS It’s something I can listen to with or without video— which is why I downloaded the app, for working out, cleaning house, driving, walking the cat. Yes, I walk my cat. ⭐️ 1 STAR The app is really buggy. Doesn’t work as it should for rewind, forward, respond to new selections, fill screen in landscape mode... even dictating this review was painfully worse than Siri. The interface is beautiful, video and audio are crystal clear, and the routines are indexed by bits. If the technology of the app was as good as the humor of the comedians I’d give the whole thing 5 stars. But hopefully just ⭐️ will get the attention of the developers to debug the glitches. Now to return and keep laughing (probably to something I’ve already heard since I can’t advance to the next bit)....Version: 2.6.10
✓ Great comedy, clunky appThe only reason this app goes from 5 to 3 is that if you listen to a comedy bit, leave half way through, and then come back, the app starts you at the beginning of the bit. The comedians are great, but I am using the app less and less because of this..Version: 2.6.10
