Throne Quest for Positive User Reviews

I Love This GameI needed something to play while waiting for the release of 9th Dawn III and had the hardest time finding anything. I’m so glad Valorware released this. I love the twin-stick controls. This is just as addicting as 9th Dawn II..Version: 1.62

Excellent. Not perfect.I love the ambition of Throne Quest; a large, open map you can tackle as you see fit. The idea is to continually level up your character and gear so you can take on the toughest opponents. The controls are good and the upgrade loop, satisfying. In all, well worth the time and money. However it is not perfect. Inventory management is annoying, I once had 66 pages of inventory to get rid of after a long sortie. The levels - caverns etc. Can be extremely time consuming and quite confusing. But it’s not a game that holds your hand so you accept it. The biggest problem is... I’m not entirely sure whether I have completed it. I have the crown but am still playing..Version: 1.65

Really fun action rpgI am really enjoying this game! Plays like a twin-stick shooter with rpg elements. Fully open world, with tons of dungeon crawls..Version: 1.12

Pretty goodGood game, but hard to navigate the map. And after you get the crown at the end? Your locked behind a crate and can’t move?.Version: 1.63

Tacit chaos and the vicissitudes of chanceI am currently lost, running amok through dungeons trying to open the final gate in order to regain my crown, while tossing what might be hamburgers at hordes of goblin archers. An absolute romp, and if you are interested in dual-stick, roguelike medieval bare-to-to-the-bones adventures, this should suffice. There is extensive loot, rapid level development, and although it does become sometimes repetitive, enough variation in the landscapes and enemies to keep one interested (a disclaimer: 'repetitive' is a relevant term. I am 9 hours in, and for a game at this price point, I have obviously found much to enjoy, far beyond my expectations). Most commendable about this game is that, as the developer states, it is language-less. Utilizing primary and advanced semiotics, one is able to easily understand and progress through the game, as the symbols and numbers pertaining to equipment, items, and enemies, are for the most part quickly assimilated. There are not excessive, hyperbolic descriptions, nor lengthy paragraphs extolling the virtues of this or that; everything is streamlined into a basic, intelligible narrative. Progress too, is quickly understood; the relatively large world silently guides you to where you should explore next, predicated upon your level and experience. That the developer created such an enjoyable game devoid of a specific language-oriented interface is absolutely brilliant. This game is, as the review title implies, slightly chaotic and chance-oriented. It's graphics are elementary, which I personally adore, the sound simple and environmental, and, because of those two things, the atmosphere compelling for the purpose at hand. Oddly enough, there becomes a relaxing, hypnotic journey to be found, as you meander through the world in an attempt to find your legacy. An excellent, light segue between the developer's haunting, immersive exploratory RPG 9th Dawn 2 and its hopefully imminent sequel..Version: 1.72

Pretty darn good....I am really enjoying this game. However... It'd be nice to see stats of items in shops. For some reason they're not showing up on my iPhone 6S with whatever the latest iOS version is. I dunno if this is by design or not, but if it is, could you maybe add that? Other than that.... it's a pretty good time waister. Then again, if you're familiar with Valorware's 9th Dawn series, that's pretty much to be expected. Can't wait for 9th Dawn III!!!!!.Version: 1.65
