9th Dawn II for Positive User Reviews

CrashesThe game keeps crashing when I load it up or even when I try complete the tutorial. I really liked the last game but this is keeping me from enjoying the second game. Please fix this issue..Version: 1.58

Fun game so farI like the game, it's a fun game combining some really cool features to make it unique. Only played it a bit but have enjoyed it so far. A few issues, the screen doesn't rotate at all, manually or otherwise, only a problem when I want to sit somewhere and charge my iPad and the cord doesn't reach all that well. Also, as someone else mentioned, the game crashed on me when I had a low battery pop up. It does save occasionally on its own, but I lost a bit of progress..Version: 1.58

Best game on iOS!Literally a 2d elder scrolls game. The map is gigantic! There's so much to explore, and so many different ways to play the game..Version: 1.54

Outstanding RPG ExperienceI’m posting this specifically for Valorware in hopes they’ll see it...could you PLEASE add controller support for those of us who want to play it on our TVs using AirPlay...even if you just add support for left & right analog stick to control the movement please at the very least? Also the ability to simply flip the iPad/iPhone screen the other way? I know it seems trivial initially, but when you’re a 9th Dawn lover playing late night and the charging cord isn’t on the proper side of the bed IT’S SOUL CRUSHING! Lol Thanks! PS, I just posted a stellar review for the game on Metacritic in both the iOS and PC categories ;).Version: 1.76

Great gameI'm a couple hours in at this point. So far I love it and it's a lot of fun. Definitely worth the price and more. I wish there was a guide for the various equipment stats and what not but overall amazing..Version: 1.58

Frikin amazing skyrim on mobileSo worth it and way better than the first. replay-ability is for sure, and I'm addicted. It's fun, it's hard, it's epic. I frikin love it. The next one can only get better than this. it's perfect compared to the first. But I agree a pause option without closing my phone would be amazing. Best app I downloaded and purchased in forever. A must buy even at full price, you won't regret it I swear rpg fans!.Version: 1.54

The game I've been waiting forThis game is FANTASTIC. A great sequel to Ninth Dawn 1. It's so addictive I can't stop. Huge open world to explore, infinite character customization if you put in the time, and dungeons that are EXPANSIVE. Ninth Dawn 2 has it all: awesome graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, weather effects, sound FX, fun factor, literally everything. Much to my wife's dismay, I'll sit and play this game for hours until my battery hits 20% and it crashes. Is that fixable? Also, I just had a crash that seems to be terminal. Now I can't restart any of my save games without it crashing again, and killing the app and rebooting doesn't help. I hope a forthcoming update fixes this and other crash issues, because this game is SERIOUSLY the best iPhone RPG EVER. I don't want to have to reinstall. Also, some kind of dungeon mapping would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!.Version: 1.54

Yep, Just Great! The game is fabulous. Nice, straight forward, relaxing old school adventuring. Well done. I'd love Mac version of the multiplayer server app (please) and I'm not a huge fan of the paper-thin character cut outs (I find it distracting when they turn like a leaf of paper) but that is a minor point. Overall, this game is pure fun..Version: 1.76

Great gameThe more you play this game you more you realise just how good it is. Combat is tough, but great fun. Well recommended..Version: 1.76

Best RPG availableThanks to the developers for this second great experience. Could you please add a "pause" option and a possibility to select items without getting hit... Looking forward for a third one :).Version: 1.76

Wonderfull open world gameGreat game with huge world, amazing for a one man team.Version: 1.76

AmazingSuch an amazing well put together game. Thanks! I hope you are allowed to get rid of some of that negative feedback, some of those reviews are just stupidity. Just curious though how the multiplayer works on the iOS/droid? Is it same WiFi in order to work? Or perhaps just a pc thing? Either way great game. Would love to see a manual though 😉.Version: 1.76

Ridiculously sprawling RPGA throwback to old-school CRPGs like the Ultima series, 9th Dawn 2 also brings in the controls of a twin-stick shooter to make something unlike anything else on iOS. It has masses of loots and spells, huge dungeons, puzzles, jumps, switches and elevators. There is a satisfying skill tree to focus on melee, ranged or magical combat, taking on a wide variety of monsters. On the downsides, the UI can be a little clunky and involves a series of menus. The storyline is perhaps also a little thin and there isn't much guidance on where to go next. Arguably, all these elements are more a callback to the CRPG roots than a big flaw, though. Go out, get lost, gain some experience and loot - then do it all over again. Great fun..Version: 1.76

BUY IT YOU WONT REGRET ITAwesome game. Extremely underrated..Version: 1.76

Even better than the first.Old school Ultima-style questing with great real time combat and a fascinating world to explore. And the work of one man. Incredible: atmospheric and gripping! And multiplayer is on the way! O_o.Version: 1.54

Epic !The first was a brilliant game with a ton to do and explore. So far this seems even better. A much larger world, great graphics and a huge nod back to the early Ultima years. 5 stars. No crappy freemium. It's a properly priced RPG. Support this indie dev..Version: 1.54

Raising the bar...This is where every single IOS game in the App Store needs to live up to and set their level of standards at. There are no IAP and nothing to purchase to further yourself along! I played the first one, really enjoyed it and decided to give the second one a try! I was struggling to kill a few rats at the beginning of the game, and decided to take a different route. I went back to the shop and sold some of my equipment, so that I could afford a bow for my build (Dex) and went back to find myself destroying them all without any problems! PLEASE, developers, keep your level of games to these standards and do not allow yourself to dive into the depths of IAP, etc. Lots of love for y'all!.Version: 1.76

FantasticA no nonsense classic RPG. Pay once and get the whole game, none of that IAP nonsense. Keep making these.Version: 1.76

Great RPG has that old school vibeReminds me of how RPGs used to be but with modern conveniences. Having a lot of fun exploring and leveling up. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.76

Amazing open world rpgI love it!.Version: 1.76

AwesomeJust started yesterday and love it so far, everything is so in depth for customizing/leveling your character. You start as a cookie cutter and grow into how you want him/her to perform, which is how games are meant to be played. A few grammatical errors but it's to be expected, haven't gotten any crashes or noticed any bugs yet but I'm only level 18. Great work Valorware, never fails to excel.Version: 1.54

A nice little RPGThe rough graphics give it some charm and actually things like spells are very animated . It actually fits somewhere between a CRPG and an ARPG as the combat part is quite visceral. It also has old style puzzle traps that seem to have gotten lost on modern ARPGs. I am looking forward to the 3rd installation that is in the works..Version: 1.76

Ignore the graphics... Deep and engaging RPG perfectionFor those that love a deep RPG, with personalization, quests, a huge world, multi classing..... This is your game on iOS. Issues that need fixing: personally I feel like a map in dungeons is kind of a necessity, and when trying to listen to music in the background my music turns off every time I move into a new part of the map..Version: 1.54

There are issues, yet I'm still rating it 5!Don't get me wrong this game has a handful of problems like crashing when I get a battery warning, crashing when I open it, some difficulty with new controls, and it kinda seems to try too hard to be hard, and I constantly find my self respawning. That being said, considering the fact this game was just released, every single problem I just listed there is 100% understandable. When you first release a game, it's very unlikely to be flawless. But this game is all in all very fun. The world is huge, and just in the starting village there are tons of quests. I've been waiting for this game since I played 9th dawn one. So yes, without a doubt, this game gets 5 stars from me👏🏻👏🏻👍👍.Version: 1.54

Fan of the SeriesLoved the first game, and when the second came out I was ecstatic. At first it wasn't available for my IPhone 5C, but since the compatibility update it downloaded and works perfectly. Loving it, highly recommend this game to anyone considering it..Version: 1.58

Exactly what i wantedThis game is everything i wanted from the original 9th dawn but just made everything X20!! This game has it all, vast open world for you to get lost in. I swear I've been in the beginning area for like at least 5 hours just exploring and finding curious things. Thats how freaking huge this game is! The surrounding environment will quickly take your attention away from your main quest. Overall it was well worth the money and I can't be any happier that it finaly got released. This is a true gem for all RPG fans out there. If your looking for a game to lose yourself in, this is it you guys pick it up immediately!😩.Version: 1.54

IPad2 not supportedDoesn't work on iPad2, description is not accurate. Not enough memory, crashes after about 30 seconds, many people reported that issue. Running latest software, rebooted my device, etc...Version: 1.57

Incredible FeatOne dude made this whole thing and it's incredible. I'm stoked to play online coop with my friend when it's released..Version: 1.54

Great Game!Try it out if you're any level of fantasy rpg fan, you will like it! Just want to see a little animation on the walk/run!.Version: 1.76

AwesomeSuper fun old school rpg. 👍🏼.Version: 1.76

Fantastic retro CRPGBack in the late 80s/early 90s, I loved playing the early CRPGs like Wizardry and Bard's Tale. This game is an old-school throwback that captures the spirit of those games perfectly. The world is massive; the dungeons are sprawling labyrinths; the gameplay is challenging. I cannot say enough good things about this game. Another bonus is that there are no microtransactions and no PTW elements that are characteristic of a lot of modern games. It is awesome!.Version: 1.76

Best appTop notch app, a few bugs although it's constantly updating with a multiplayer I wouldn't want to miss. Best sequel in the market. AAA.Version: 1.76

MasterclassOne of the best open world RPG experiences on mobile. Loved the first, love this too. One issue - When phone displays low power message the game immediately closes. Please fix.Version: 1.54

Great funIt's been a long time since I played a game that I think about after I'm done playing it. There is so much to do and it is so much fun and I had to write this review. The leveling system is flawless the character development is deep yet none of it is difficult. And for the people who are saying that combat is difficult, I felt that way too until I realized I'm not supposed to continually press the attack button. Instead you hold the attack button until the crosshairs show and then get the crosshairs on to your target; it couldn't be easier. Worth every penny..Version: 1.54

AmazingEasily my favorite game on the market.Version: 1.76

Amazing game!!!!There are a many games I buy on iOS because they look cool. Some of those I play for a few minutes and never touch again. Others, I play endlessly, and keep finding more amazing things about them each time I play. This game belongs in that latter category. It is one of the best RPG games on the platform, has hundreds of hours of playability, and continues to get new features. In this version I've found zero bugs..Version: 1.76

Very hard gameMaybe I Am getting old this game seems very hard. It is well executed but one has to have quick hands hard for me to do with this control setup. The rats kill me every time..Version: 1.54

Fantastic! If you grew up with Diablo, you'll feel at home. Great story, varied quests, addictive balanced game play. In a word: polished. Console sized campaign. Ignore the "This crashes my gameboy 2" reviews, and make sure to have a modern device. My only complaint, poorly optimized. Goes through 50% of my 6 Plus battery in roughly 1 hour. Underwhelming for a pixel graphics game. Other than that, 5 stars!.Version: 1.75

Awesome GameThis game is really good. It has a few small problems that are easy to ignore. I just wish I could zoom in on the world map for a better view. I like the lack of a map in dungeons, makes them difficult. Make another one!.Version: 1.76

Must play RPGI've scoured through the App Store for good RPGs, and this one hits it on the spot. If you like old school Diablo 1-2 / Ultima type games you will love it. -Rewards exploration -Leveling system -multiple classes and spells/abilities -loot and trading in town with merchants Just buy it and get started!!.Version: 1.54

Thanks for allowing gender choiceA lot of roguelike rpg games only have male characters. As a female I really appreciate the game designer..Version: 1.76

Great game with massive potentialAfter searching through the App Store for a decent RPG with a little depth, I took the risk and paid the £5.99 for 9th dawn 2! I was very pleased with the purchase and it gave me hours of good game play (now completed the game) I loved the levelling system and the little puzzles that lay within the dungeons! The game really comes alive mid way through when some good loot starts to drop! I have some suggestions to improve this game a lot.. 1. Add a teleportation spell, I lost patience many times with having to walk for ages some times. 2. Better world map (allow zoom etc) 3. Discoverable dungeon maps (A map creates as you explore a dungeon so if you get lost, you can look back and see where you've been/ what you've missed). 4. A lot more side quests, the game felt a little thin at times. 5. A main story line with a little more purpose. 6. Make the quests easier to pick up / find 7. Maybe incorporate some spells that you have to buy or some skills that you need recipes for..had millions of silver and nothing to spend it on at the end! These are all minor things though and I really enjoyed the game!!.Version: 1.57

9th Dawn IIThis is the 4th time I've had to write a review for this game (dunno why they keep disappearing) - so I'm not going to write it all again - what I will say is that if you enjoyed the first 9th Dawn, you'll more likely than not wind up loving this sequel. If you've never played 9th Dawn, and are a fan of the Ultima series (or open-world RPGs in general) and have no qualms with a game not holding your hand at all, this is a game you should pick up. ASAP. Definitely a contender for GOTY..Version: 1.54

Great open world RPGGreat open world RPG. Really improves on the first one. Huge open world!.Version: 1.54

Excellent Game...Needs PatchElder Scrolls + Zelda + Paper Mario (?). The depth of this game is surprising, particularly after looking at the map for the first time. I am hopeful for a 3rd edition with more character development/customization. One thing to be said: The game seems to take time (at least on my iPad mini 1) to get to a stable position. It crashed for the first few minutes of gameplay (probably crashed 5-10 times). I turned off weather and did minor movement outside of the first town for a while, and the crashes have completely ceased. This isn't a solution, but perhaps a workaround until a patch comes out..Version: 1.76

Maps & questsNeeds in cave maps & quest markers.Version: 1.76

Great Open World RPGIf you are looking for a game that encourages you to explore, 9th Dawn II is the game for you. It's has some small quirks, but it's stable enough that you can enjoy it. Don't forget to save often, and be prepared to die!.Version: 1.54

This game is amazingI really love this game is amazing how you explore the world and fight your way out of things if there's a dlc I well pay anything for it.Version: 1.76

Open RPGTrawled the Internet for months searching for an RPG with depth. At first glance, the visuals are very simplistic, basic pixels which are not to everyone's taste. The gameplay and combat however are great. It's not a simple click and go to auto kill target system, it requires response and reflexes. Character customisation is not constrained, you are given 5 skill points per level up to invest into 4 different areas which opens up a skill tree to suit your fighting style. It took me a while to get used to the initial learning curve of combat and UI, but after completing the starting village quests and found a few treasure chests, I'd have to say it's pretty addictive! Multiplayer is in the works too..lots to look forward to..Version: 1.54

A rare gem of a classic open world rpgThis game seems underrated and to my surprise has likely gotten much less attention than deserved. The graphics are basic rogue-like rpg graphics and the story is set in an enormous world. The game is designed for exploration and free roaming. Tons of items to find, magic to master, and areas to explore. This is a truly rare gem for those who enjoy old school rpg's. The downside- it feels as though many things, such as crafting, are left unfinished and un-implemented. There are items for crafting... but nothing to do with them. It doesn’t seem like there are plans to finally add those things in. Hence... the game feels unfinished..Version: 1.76

Great open world RPGMore of these kind of games are needed on iOS. Premium, no IAP and heaps of different ways to play your character..Version: 1.54

Elder Scrolls in your pocketFantastic. Immersive and deep. More to the point, 'FUN'. Can't stop travelling, exploring and discovering. Thank you, Developer. More please..Version: 1.54

Magical! This is a must buy for anyone wanting an open world non linear RPG. It really reminds me of my Ultima Online days. Worth every penny and keeps me from playing my PS4. Seriously..Version: 1.54
