9th Dawn III for Positive User Reviews

Literally the Best RPG on mobile! This game is absolutely fantastic. It reminds me of my childhood years playing Legend of Zelda, mixed with some Elder Scrolls and Diablo. This game has it all, and does it all well. Hours and hours of gameplay, enormous open world, tons of layers of crafting and customization, creatures to capture and level up, a build in card game (reminds me of how Witcher 3 did Gwent), challenging enemies and massive dungeons to explore and clear. By far the BEST RPG I’ve seen on mobile!!!.Version: 1.60

So goodThis game is insanely good..Version: 1.07

Lots of good, only a little bad.So, I love the open world, I like the customizations, I’m overall really impressed. There are a couple quality of life upgrades that I think hold it back from being 5 stars. The maps need some sort of fog of war so you can see where you have and have not been. Dungeons especially go from fun to tedious when monsters respawn every time you enter, so it’s nearly impossible to fully explore a dungeon unless you do it in one sitting. The recipe screen needs some sort of indicator if you have the needed materials, instead of having to click through every item. Since you have unlimited inventory space, it should be shared between you and NAMELESS. Having to select items, drop them and then pick them up is tedious..Version: 1.37

Wow what a great old school RPGI’ve been following the making of this game for many many year's. It all started when I came across 9th Dawn on the App Store, this was 7~8 years ago now give or take. Back then you just didn’t get anything like this on the App Store anyway I was soon addicted to the game and loved what Valoware had done with it. Then came 9th Dawn 2 another great game everything I loved about the first had got better in this one,I still have it on my IPad to this day. So obviously there was no stopping me when after what felt like an eternity of teasers on FB and Twitter by Valoware, 9th Dawn 3 dropped for iOS.And yup it’s an amazing world I’ve only played a few hours but already noticed a good few changes that make the game better right from the start, ie no more accidental switch hitting, etc. Also the % showing for completion of areas is a excellent add.Well done again Valoware on another premium game I can’t wait to get digging into it more the first few hours is amazing time for me to add another cpl of hours to my clock.I’d also love to see this game on Mac through Steam I’d certainly buy it again.great work guys 👍.Version: 1.30

Awesome game!Loved it. The boss fights towards the end get a little tedious but other then that I had a great time. Really fun exploration..Version: 1.40

Great, quirky funLet me say first of all that to like this game you have to like frustration, back tracking, crafting, pet capture and care, dying and detailed quests from novel NPC types... and great soundtrack, excellent customisations and no locked in character types... it IS a big challenge but incredibly rewarding when you find that shortcut, flip that switch, earn that ability!! Oh and an integral CCG that is fun... and a fishing mini game! If you tick all the boxes, this is the game for you. If you want a casual idle JRPG then look elsewhere! To think this amount of detail comes from a tiny UK dev shop, is amazing. I can honestly say this is the first time in an RPG for an age, I have read the story text. Most times it is skip, whatever, but you have to read the details here to help out the NPCs. Enjoy!!.Version: 1.40

Outstanding open world game!By and far my favorite iOS game. It’s great for quick play, or extended hours. There is SO MUCH TO DO, then there are the various builds for replay ability. If you are reading this, just get it. Once you get the hang of it you’ll agree..Version: 1.60

Awesome gameOne of my favorites.Version: 1.60

So much potentialI want to love this game. But it is just alright. The difficulty curve is all over the place. It is super easy, then you walk into something that one shots you with no warning. Class balance is also bad. There are a 6 pages of mage ability’s 1 page (4) warrior ability’s and 1 rogue ability which is stealth. I wanted to play and archer but not one single archer ability. Another thing is the annoying shop keepers and quest givers never seem to be in their shop. I tried to learn fishing, but had to cook a meal first. Cook wouldn’t talk to me because he wasn’t in his room. I came back found him in the right place finally. Did his quest and couldn’t turn it in until waiting for him to be in the room again, finally got this dish for the fisherman went to him and nope not in his room won’t talk to me. Tried to buy arrow nope dude not home. Finally buy arrows and they cost 54 gold each. Can afford less then 100 and it takes 3 to kill a rat. So I am out before I even get to the dungeon. I restarted as a caster and the game is a lot more fun. As long as you like playing as a mage the game is good. But it could be great with some polish..Version: 1.07

Awesome 👌🏻👌🏻The game so far is great, I’ve already played about 10 hrs and I’m still enjoying every second of it. The only criticism I have is the green orbs you pick up that attribute points in them, I only wish that it would say which point is there. Other than that, the game is great an open world RPG with monster taming definitely a great game in my book..Version: 1.18

Fantastic RPGUltima style RPG with great controller support .Massive dungeons to explore with tons of skills to level my early impressions are extremely good for this game.Definately one of the top games on the AppStore ..Version: 1.07

ExquisiteI stumbled across this gem and now I can’t get enough of it. There is SO much finely crafted content in this game that will satisfy any respectable gamer who has a refined eye for quality. It reminds me of a 16-bit hybrid of elder scrolls and diablo but you can tame pets to bring into battle. I am well over forty hours in and must say that I am quite pleased with my purchase, and I have to mention that the 📲console command feature is a GENIUS move. Need that pesky Infusion Catalyst to craft that thingamabob? Command it in. Thanks Developer/s and bravo.Version: 1.60

Just amazing.Been playing Valorware games for a while now and this is the best yet. Great open world RPG action, satisfying levelling, fishing, card games, crafting, TAMING ANIMALS!! This list goes on. Don’t have an apple device without it!!.Version: 1.13

Needs cloud saveThis would get a 5 if I could continue my game on my iPad. Instead I’m stuck with using it on my phone so that I don’t lose progress.Version: 1.40

Looks amazingI’ve only been playing for two days, will update this review with in depth information after I have more experience with the game, but I just wanted to briefly note that this game is awesome thus far and is exactly what I’ve been searching for on iPad for what seems like years now. I’m thoroughly impressed and thoroughly enthralled and having nonstop fun with the game. It appears to be worth every penny and more. Will update in detail in near future, just wanted to say I’m happy with the purchase!.Version: 1.37

This game..... 😃Ok let me start off by saying that I am terrible at writing reviews. But I think this game deserves one. I have played about 2 hours of the game so far. Hands down....Awesome. The devs did a great job. So far I have had a blast. The crafting system is fun. Not to challenging but enough to keep it interesting. Combat reminds in a way of Terraria in the sense that you basically hold down attack and go. That in its self can get boring but seeing as how this is the mobile version, it works. Questing, they don’t hold your hand too much which is a good thing. Make sure you READ the dialog though. Otherwise you will have to go back to the quest menu to figure it out. Best of all the card mini game. I spent about 30 straight playing it. It’s easy to understand and fun to play. Best of all I haven’t seen a single micro transaction!!! Honestly for the price. This is a great game and I hope everyone gives this a chance because these guys really made something fun..Version: 1.13

Worth moneyI bought this on android and now bought it on iOS. I’m happy to support these developers. They do updates to kill bugs quick. Game plays smoothly on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Can’t wait to see what all else will be added. It already has a lot of content. I would recommend to anyone that loves adventure games. This is on of the best on mobile if not the best. A game don’t need good graphics to be great I love the way this game looks and plays. Thanks developers for bringing a good games to all devices..Version: 1.35

Addicting Fun!!!Can’t put it down. So much to do, it’s mesmerizing g. My favorite thing to do is explore, and tip toe around insanely difficult enemies whilst stealing their loot. I save up mats to cook with, and romp through dungeons for named enemies. I think this game might be too addicting. I start, and then look up at the time, and realize 5 hours slipped through my hands in a blink. :).Version: 1.07

MASSIVEGreat game, loads to do, I like to grind so I’m on hard mode. map is huge, more games should be made like this, also rouge mode is awesome, well done to this developer at last a game made with passion 😃.Version: 1.60

Really Fun!The user interface is really well done, in my opinion. Sometimes you have to reach over a bit but overall, it looks good and works well. The game itself is really fun and considering that it was made by one guy, it’s incredible. Really addicting and a really nice open world with tons to do. I really like the card game, too. Don’t know if it’s original or if it’s based on a real game but it’s great nonetheless. My only gripe is that I wish you could move while attacking. For example, once you start aiming to attack, you stop moving. Otherwise, it’s a great game that I’ll definitely spend 10’s-100’s of hours on!.Version: 1.40

Mostly Good, Hate One ThingIs there any way I can get rid of my companion? I'm looking to play a solo-character..Version: 1.60

Hidden gemSuch a delight to see a game designed purely for the love of gaming..Version: 1.40

FantasticFantastic RPG. Best on iPhone imo..Version: 1.40

If you loved Cavern ...Two of my favorite, most-played games on iOS are Cavern and Cardinal Quest II. 9th Dawn III feels like the best parts of those games multiplied by 100. Don’t let the 2D pixel art fool you — this is truly a full-fledged, open-world game with loads of satisfying RPG mechanics. After only a few hours of play, I’ve gotten a sense of the scale and depth of the world. So much to explore, so many quests and conversations to discover, so many monsters to fight and capture. There’s a huge variety of fighting styles and equipment, so the replay value is practically unlimited if you want to roll another character and tackle the game with a different strategy. The simple twin stick controls are easy to use, if a little finicky (maybe add a customization setting for joystick sensitivity?) and the menus/inventory screens aren’t too cluttered. On an iPhone XR, the text is small but legible. Overall, this is an incredibly well-made game to have come from a one-man development studio. 100% worth the $10 for such a polished premium iOS experience! My only regret is that I didn’t discover the 9th Dawn series until now. I’ll be playing this one for a long long time, and will undoubtedly find myself re-installing and re-playing it for many years to come..Version: 1.18

Incredible. As close to Skyrim Mobile as you’re going to get. Feels like a cross between Diablo 2, Pokémon, and Skyrim..Version: 1.60

AmazingThis is literally the best mobile game I’ve ever played I’m hooked on it and I usually hate games like this but I can’t stop playing this one.Version: 1.35
