✓ Good game, but..There’s another auto chess game in the App Store called Auto Chess Origin and the controls are MUCH better...please fix the layout of this...it’s extremely wonky. This game also heats my phone up so much that it’s concerning, while Auto Chess Origin doesn’t heat your phone anywhere near the heat this game gives off, yet it’s essentially the same game with some different mechanics..So they’re beating you guys in a few departments you need to look into otherwise there is no point in playing this game while Auto Chess Origin exists. Fix the insane heat and controls/layout and this game is 5/5 golden..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Too buggy right nowI'm glad to see this game on mobile but for right now there's far too many bugs. I run into this game breaking bug all the time where my guys just simply don't do anything. They are getting beaten on the entire fight yet haven't moved or attacked, and no they aren't stunned or anything they are simply not moving or attack. They are just frozen. This is constantly happening and I can't win most rounds because of it. Until this is fixed I cannot say this game is worth it. ✓ Y’all want a review so bad fineThis game is trash they took out all the old features that literally made the game and added new ones to try a keep up with other auto chess games. it’s sloppy as hell the even have a game mode for single player and yet it’s so unbalanced you can’t even do anything. The multiplayer is so bad so many players steal your line up if your in a wining streak it’s pathetic the people who play this game are scumbags not all of them but a hole lot of them. ✓ Crashes too muchIt looks like a neat game, and visuals are good, but it’s pretty much unplayable at the moment, at least not on iPhone 7: I’ve tried playing through the tutorial 4 times and every time the app crashed about half an hour into the game. It would still be somewhat tolerable if there was a save function where restarting the app would take you to where you left off (just like many other games such as Langrisser or Clash Royale do, even though individual battles are way shorter there!) but no luck. This is unacceptable for a game with such long battles. I tried reducing video quality etc. to no effect, so it’s not that. There are other QC issues as well (buttons disappearing, text not fitting in boxes, text overlaying other text, a rather lacking tutorial, no context help etc) but I could live with all of that if the app actually worked, which it does not..Version: 1.0.6

✓ Great concept, mechanics need some work.I enjoy playing this game however some of the mechanics are frustrating. One being the targeting. For the most part there appears to be absolutely no team synchronicity between characters and who they target. I did notice assassins will jump to the back line and take out whoever is there. But that’s about it. Completely inescapable AOE’s? cmon. What moron is gonna just stand there and take massive damage from something like that? It is currently full of bugs and the unstable server connection significantly exacerbates the problem. I mean, it would randomly log me out in middle of the game out of nowhere, then won’t let me log back in. ✓ Not for mobile and not strategyThis game is supported by Steam, Valve, and Apple; and yet there is already too many problems with this game. First off the game destroys your battery and the phone heats up every time I play for even half an hour. The game says strategy battler but all I get is an RNG market hoping I get what I want after knowing how the game is even played. Despite going any type of build in this game it’s always dependent on whether or not your market is in your favor. I understand the game is in beta but already in the long run this game isn’t set up correctly to be a “strategy battler”. I have the game kept just in case they do a major change or update, as I would like to see this game blow up and morph into something that’s a different and successful game. Even if everyone is dealing with the same stupid market it’s still just hoping you get what you want. It’s even more RNG than a deck building game. I would recommend not even touching this game unless you want to get raged at bots that somehow always have money and the right units they want in the long run of the game. ✓ Not strategy just RNGPractically impossible to strategize anything in this game unless you get lucky. You basically have to fall into a win as chances are someone is getting luckier than you in completing their build. Played too many games where I can’t even get a grey or green colored unit to level 2 and opponents already have level 3 blues. It really takes the fun out of the game when you’re sitting on one more unit to get a level 3 since level 10 and you literally never see it. Items need a major rework you can go 40+ rounds without getting a single item that synergizes well with your build and they can make a huge difference. Overall I’d rather just gamble.Version: 1.0.264

✓ ValveThe game interface is unbearable, chess board is unnecessary small. Why would you put a giant portrait on the top when you can make the chess board bigger? One suggestion is to just zoom in during the prep periods. The heroes on selection/buying screen is way to dark. When you named your game under-lords you don’t really have to make the background so dark that I can’t see/tell the differences between heroes on my little tiny screen. If you are going to re-roll fast you are gonna hurt your eyes trying to figure the heroes out in such a limited time. ✓ Some good changes, but unpolishedI like the gameplay changes but the UI is way too clunky compared to Drodo’s Autochess. —NEGATIVES— In Autochess you can tap almost any icon to get a popup with more information. This is really helpful for quickly checking synergies. There also is a button in Drodo’s to bring up a menu where you can see what units everyone has. lt is also much easier to see your synergies in Autochess than this one because it is always displayed. Finally, Autochess doesn’t light the phone on fire like this game does and also doesn’t lag like this one (iPhone XS Max). —POSITIVES— The gameplay changes in this game are good though. The item system is way better. It is more balanced and also I like that you can freely swap items between units. It’s much more beginner friendly and also allows more flexibility. I also like that each unit only has 1 weapon. The simplicity is nice. Finally, I really like the improvement to the shop. Being able to quickly see synergies and which units you already have is nice. It’s also great not having to swap out your units to upgrade them when your bench is full..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Great game. Extremely laggyI really like this game, especially in Knockout mode since I don’t want to waste 30-45 min to play just one single match. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, a phone with a pretty fast processor, perfect for games. However, this game lags beyond playable state after I play 1-2 matches. Then everything becomes so laggy, you can’t even understand what’s going on in the game. On top of this, the phone heats up SO much. I’ve never seen ANY other application heat up my phone to this level. It becomes burning hot to the point where I can barely hold it in my hands. As soon as I quit the game, the phone quickly cools off. Once again, I’ve never seen any other games (and some of them had more graphics than Dota Underlords) lay my phone so much. It’s simply ridiculous. The game becomes impossible to play. If they fix this issue, I’ll change my rating to 5-star..Version: 1.0.355

✓ Pros and cons:I have iPhone 7+, three games and my battery is below 15%. I have set everything in game settings to minimum btw. This is the only game that does this. When fix comes I’ll update to 5stars. Pros: - good graphics - addicting gameplay - variety of possible builds Cons: - battery drain (A LOT) - too long, each and every time you play it - as former dota player (4k hours) I’d rather spend same amount of time playing something else as it gets boring pretty quickly because it is heavy depending on RNG not so much on player skill. What could be added/changed: - Hero tier could should be shown when you select any of your units. - Shop window should be closing when player clicks somewhere else - Middle of the screen “Round **” could be moved so it is not interfering when player tries to quickly change hero items in between rounds - Enemy team build perks should be available to see during the fights. - Warnings like “You have 1 empty hero spot” should be more visible early game... You just choose some dudes and then wait for a bit with no interaction, then choose some more dudes and repeat... for aggggeesssss. A match seems to last an hour easy!? I’m not sure where the chess part comes in (apart from there being a board with squares on?) the auto bit is clear.. you don’t really do anything. All the ‘strategy’ is basically choosing dudes with the same icon. ✓ Worst Authentication I’ve Ever SeenI’ve tried a dozen times now to set up a steam account through the app. I have a password app that manages my credentials for hundreds of apps. I buckled down to try and open a steam account, dedicating over half an hour of my life to this. And it defeated me. It’s impossible. Too many steps, too difficult to validate email, non-intuitive flow, too many captcha barriers, no clear instructions on password rules, not even the common decency of enabling copy-paste so I can add my password without typing it in. And for what? Evidently the app doesn’t talk to the web site because it all failed anyway. Pathetic piece of garbage. As a coder I’d be willing to bet money that some mid-level paranoid exec told the devs to throw every possible security or SSO SDK into this app and they were forced to crap on months of effort by building a login barrier so high that only the lucky or unemployed can get over it. Matches easily last over 25 individual rounds, and while I tried my hardest to finish, each time towards the end my game just crashed and closed out without warning. Spending over 30 minutes (which is crazy for a mobile game like this, you could play a legit match of Dota2) for absolutely nothing can be extremely frustrating. That being said, the gameplay is surprisingly good. The tutorial doesn’t really explain everything and you have to kind of put some pieces together on your own, but once you do, there aren’t many other games like it. It’s very unique, and if they shorten the match length a bit or at the very least fix the crash bug, I’d come back and change that 1* to a 4 or 5 easy..Version: 1.0

✓ Big (bad) UpdateThe latest update (10/25) feels like a step back; the UI and performance both seem to have regressed. For me, it’s no longer playable as the UI is too busy, small, and blurry to make out a lot of icons or other useful visual indicators, so I find myself spending more time trying to make sense of the UI than actually playing/taking a turn. I’ve already missed several rounds of play taking because of the poor readability of the UI. This was never once a problem with the previous version. Ik it’s not the game itself but it is impossible to play multiplayer with out being able to connect to steam. ✓ Terrible game breaking bugEvery time I’m in first place with a strong army at the end of a game with just one other player, the same stupid scenario happens. I beat him, he takes no damage. I beat him again, he takes no damage. I beat him AGAIN, he takes NO DAMAGE. Then, because for some godforsaken reason he hasn’t been eliminated yet, he ends up rolling for more characters and XP and ends up finally beating me on the 4th or 5th try, AND I TAKE DAMAGE AND LOSE?!?! ✓ Love the game but crashes ruin itI’ve been playing this game for about 4 months on both mobile and desktop and I absolutely love the game. It’s the best in its genre by far. However, I’m not exactly sure what happened in the most recent updates, but now the game is unplayable due to crashes. I have the game on the lowest graphical settings and on 15 FPS (battery saver mode) and the game still drains my battery and overheats my phone, causing the app to crash, which can really mess up an entire game. It is neat to have an official dota game for mobile. Now the bad. Unable to complete a game on my iPad Air 2. Game closes unexpectedly and “Resume game” loads an unfamiliar game. High graphic settings produce low frame rates and annoying stutters while low graphic settings produce something I’d rather not play. One thing to note is that there are much more graphically intense games that my iPad handles without problem. Overall, it runs like an emulator inside of an emulator feel. ✓ Deep Strategy, Weak TutorialThe game feels pretty good. It plays easily enough and the basic concept is obvious; rank up units, get stronger, establish formations, etc. in hopes of winning. That much will take time to learn. Unfortunately the tutorial feels the need to play through an entire match which is is a little daunting and it explains very little as to how to succeed. It rather lets you play and explains only the basics; leaving out some things such as ranking up units, etc. 3 Star for it being a good, solid game. Lost stars for it being too unenjoyable up front due to lack of explanation in the tutorial and obvious unbalanced matchmaking. ✓ Good but buggyAfter spending some time with the game, I have to say that while it definitely can be fun, the bugs currently there aren’t worth it yet to switch over from the other main Auto Chess mobile game. That game may lack the detail and visuals of this game, and doesn’t have a bot mode, but the controls are easy to use and the UI in general is more friendly to those still learning Auto Chess. Though right now the main gripe I’m having with this game is the fact that anytime it goes out of memory on the phone, it wants you to download a fresh 450MB, and while I’m not certain if it is actually downloading anything(which would be terrible for those with limited data plans and aren’t on WiFi) it takes anywhere from 5-10mins to load, which is a bit frustrating. Pros: - visuals are really good - items are easier to understand and use - bot mode that lets you take your time, which is great when still learning the game Cons: - Loading game takes way too long and by the time it loads I don’t really want to play anymore - UI is a bit complicated and takes time to get used to, even against bots - Touch controls are off, when trying to drag or place, instead of being in the center of the square it wants you to be specifically on the bottom, which causes some inadvertent switching or misplacements. For now I’ll be going back to Auto Chess mobile, but I am looking forward to this game getting many of its bugs worked out and coming to play again..Version: 1.0
✓ Decent/Frustrating At TimesThe roll chance for a lot of the monsters is very low even for the lower tier variety. Which can make building your alliances very hard. It’s also very hard to see what build you are working towards. You have to constantly click around and read what you have and when you have a very low time limit it makes it almost impossible to look for guys you need and purchase them. As far as the concept of the game, the monsters, their abilities, cool downs, etc the game does very well. I think the roll chances, and ways to view your build or show what build you could work towards needs updated to help simplify the experience a bit considering the time limit. I’ll definitely keep playing. I just hope adjustments can be made..Version: 1.0.352
✓ Slick but an rng festIt has the veneer of a solid game. Just a shame the game mechanics leave you rarely in control of your destiny. It’s essentially a balancing act of saving money in increments of ten and picking a survivor team. Save, save, save and then splurge when you’re about to fall behind. Rng is massive - get lucky combos early can set you on a long cruise to top 3 with little to do but watch the carnage for forty minutes..Version: 1.0.261
