GWENT: The Witcher Card Game for Positive User Reviews

Big learning curveAs the title suggests, it’s actually quite difficult to get the gist of how to play as the cards are different from the game. I was an excellent play in Witcher 3 but feel like a total noob here 🙄 I am winning matches..., although I don’t really know how.., so far it’s mostly luck. It is enjoyable enough hence the 4 star rating...., leaving myself somewhere to go on later review updates. For now, it’s ok and I would recommend the game..Version: 7.1.2

Best CCG game I’ve ever played!!I used to play hearthstone for awhile when it launched. I got sick of hearthstone because of how grindy it is. I was introduced to Gwent as a mini game in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Eventually, CDPR developed a stand alone version for gwent due to popular demand. CDPR is known for their consumer friendly practices compared to other developers so it’s no surprise that it is a lot faster to earn cards, rewards, and progress in Gwent compared to other CCG such as hearthstone. Also with gwent expansions, so far, have been releasing around every 3 months. This is important because it allows for variations in play style and in the meta game. Also the cards are BEAUTIFUL!! The premium cards are full of life and character because of how animated they are. I would highly recommend this game!!! 😊 👍🏻.Version: 4.1.1

Fun game. Animations awfully slowDesperately need to improve animation performance or even have an option to speed or disable entirely. It’s the only thing that makes it unenjoyable. Otherwise great we’ll made game that’s super fun..Version: 10.6.1

GGI’ve been playing since beta and appreciate finally having this game on mobile. A couple of tips for new players: don’t expect to get everything completed, like rewards and quests, just build a good deck and have fun. And realize the game changes every season/update, so don’t get too attached to one deck or faction. Realize that every season has one or two 5star decks that dominate until they’re changed. So the decision is time or money, if you want to earn everything from playing then it’s doubtful you’ll always get the opportunity to build the top decks each season. It isn’t greed, it’s just economics. The devs do a great job and people who work deserve to be paid. There’s a good balance of rewards for playing and it never feels like a waste of time. Still fun, hope it doesn’t change too much in the future..Version: 6.2.1

A great game! This is a unique card game with very well designed mechanics. You can choose between different factions each of them providing viable decks. Cards can be easily farmed even as ftp. Contrarily to other card games, Gwent is much less impacted by rng granting that skill comes before luck. Highly recommended!!.Version: 5.2.9

Couldn’t ask for a better gameplay!Gwent is one of the best cards game ever made, its featured an in-depth, strategic gameplay and logical relationships among the cards..Version: 10.11

Premium KegsI have been having an amazing time revisiting this game but unfortunately all the free premium kegs I’ve received as rewards don’t go to the goodies section where I can open them. I hope this glitch can be resolved soon..Version: 4.1.1

Tons of FunWhen I first played the game I was getting wrecked but it was due to not understanding how to create cards that fit my play style and such. This game is not pay to win. As long as you play opponents and do the reward book, you will get the necessary materials to create whatever card you want. At first, I was buying the decks with the in game currency I made hoping to get good cards not realizing that you didn’t have to do that and you could create whichever card you want. So for those saying it’s pay to play and they can’t get good cards obviously don’t know how to create their own decks. As soon as I figured this out I started owning everyone. As a person who spent too much money on Walking dead RTS, trust me this game is nothing like that and if you chose to spend your money on specific decks that’s on you. It’s so much fun to play and when you come out on top from clutch and strategic gameplay the W is all the more rewarding..Version: 7.0

Tablet recommended!Nice features on PC are on iOS now.Version: 4.1.1

Lots of waiting crashes and timeoutsI have spent as much time playing this game as waiting to play this game. Seriously, this would be a five star game for me if it weren’t for all the waiting for (a very long time) a match, waiting on opponent and self connection losses out of the blue, and the amount of time it takes the game to load after it crashes. When you finally get to play, the learning curve is difficult but if you don’t mind losing a lot and waiting forever to play the next game then you finally understand how the game is played and what the different card attributes do. It’s way more complicated than Witcher 3 in-game Gwent with only 2 rows instead of 3 and the cards take more finesse to play. I have wasted too much time on this game it’s frustrating but so fun to play when i finally get a match.Version: 11.3

Great game but needs fixingThe game is amazing, if you’re a lover of Witcher or Gwent this game is for you. Brings you straight back into the Witcher world even if you haven’t played for years. Animations and attention to detail is amazing. The factions are well built apart from nilfgaardians, they are the most powerful and have the best abilities and can lock all your cards or straight up take them from you, it’s okay if it a few times but they can refresh their abilities and straight up take your deck or just lock all your gold cards! Which is quite annoying... and is almost impossible to beat if you don’t take a load of neutral purification cards which ruins all your other decks. Don’t get me started on them Witcher cards, destroying cards above 9 power and others destroying 20 points worth! They are so OP and you might as well turn off the game when someone uses them. I can’t bring myself to use them because it’s just pure toxic gameplay and ruins the game they are so overpowered and need sorting out badly. Other than that it’s a really enjoyable game when it’s kept fair and you have a good challenging match that isn’t one sided because of Geralt of nilfgaard cards. I personally forfit most nilfgaard battles because in this current version of the game, there’s no point even trying!.Version: 5.0.9

Great gameLiterally one of the best card games I’ve ever played however just some cards need buffs like almost all the Witcher cards since their provisions cost way too high to make a Witcher deck. Also I was using the insanity cards with Armor and it seems that it doesn’t damage the Armor but the unit itself I know this is because there is greater brothers but it would make a great deck if insanity damaged the Armor instead. But in doing so greater brothers would need their insanity removed because of balance Anyway great game highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys card games since this one is unique and different to any other you have played before..Version: 4.1.2

Nilfgard still to hard to beat !!Just wanna day I love Gwent I’ve spent many hours and a reasonable amount money and will still gladly do so but man nilfgard is hard to beat it seams it doesn’t matter what cards your playing if your not playing nilfgard u simply don’t have a chance with any other faction it’s really sucking the fun out of wanting play with any other faction I mean come all u out there like me who have played nearly every mechanic that’s come about since the firsts week of beta you only need a certain few cards in your hand playing with nilfgard and you’ve pretty much already one I love playing has nilfgard but I also like playing has other factions but just feel like you haven’t got a chance against nilfgard..Version: 6.2.1

Super jeuMeme si cela ne ressemble pas tout à faut au jeu de gwynt du jeu video, je trouve le jeu super beau et les règles sont vraiment sympas même si parfois je ne comprends pas encore toutes les règles 😁..Version: 10.7

Card game for the agesThe Witcher game series is not to be passed on!, expanding on the Witcher game by making Gwent its own stand alone game has been one of the many great additions CD Project Red has done for the series. If your looking for an expansive, mature, throughout strategy card game. This is the one for you!.Version: 11.7.1

Amazing GameI LOVE games that involve strategy and tactical thinking. That being said, I wish there was an offline mode that folks could enjoy. I am in the military and in certain environments it’s just impossible to get a connection to the internet. Even if all I was doing was playing a base version of the game that never needed an it would be amazing if I could play offline even just against a computer or via Bluetooth or something for a local game. I don’t know if this would be possible to do but I love this game, the lack of pay to win, and just how overall fair all the different faction decks are. Thank you for this product it has me hooked like no game has before..Version: 8.0

Nailed itGreat! Devs really nailed it. Couldn’t ask for a better gameplay!.Version: 4.1.3

Just amazing. Nothing else to say.Really, nothing else to say..Version: 4.1.1

I never finished the Witcher 3I spent too much of my time playing Gwent, Its good on the phone. Only issue I've found on my phone is that the interface is a bit fiddly and the hover over tooltips should be able to get tapped on so they go away. First tap brings it up second tap dismisses it l. All in all im absolutely hooked on this for a while 5 / 5..Version: 10.10.1

Gwent mobile game reviewFor all you Witcher fans out there, this game is a must get. It is very fun and I have spent a good time on it. It improves and even changes upon the aspects and original rules of the Witcher 3 version of gwent. It adds new cards, new rules, new abilities and overall a new enjoyable feel to gwent that offers quick but competitive games against other players from around the world all in the palm of your hand. The card loot system is progressive and the game doesn’t make you feel like it’s to slow or that your not accomplishing anything by playing gwent games. In the end this game is a very enjoyable mobile game that is easy to pick up and play when your on the go or just chilling out and I would rate it a 5/5. Thank CD Projekt for this game..Version: 4.1.1

Just got this game. First thoughts!Firstly I want to say that the art in this game and the animations are really excellent! I really enjoy this game already. The card designs are awesome and I love seeing cards like the “Geralt of Rivia” one. I love Witcher and I think this game does a nice job representing it. The layout of the game is a little different than the original game but I was not bothered by it at all. Really excellent job. Also, I think this game runs extremely well for being brand new. The graphics are nice and I like the animated cards a lot! The only criticism I have is sometimes dragging the card to the row you want to place it in can be a bit glitchy. I’ve messed up my placement only a few times. Other than that I think this game is really fun and I’m addicted!!.Version: 4.1.1

Amazing game, slight issue. No game I have ever downloaded has ever compelled me to write a review except this one, which is a bittersweet turn of events. This is a terrific game I have spent many hours playing. One thing I must mention however is the immensely overpowered nilfgaard faction. The double cross ability effectively gives the player a starting deck of 11 (10 from their own deck and 1 from the opponents hand) and it gives them a massive 17 added provisions. Also the provision cost of their cards is ridiculously low for the orders they are capable of. Please could you have a look at this faction possibly “nerf” some aspects of it in the hopes of making the matches a bit more fair..Version: 8.1.1

Very giving and very fun!I figure Gwent was going to be a decent game with some kind of P2W scheme. Now card games are like this by nature, because technically that is how they originated. Pay for cool cards and battle your friends. In here it seems the free to play aspect is decent and you can actually get access to good cards over time. I never bought stuff, but it does sometimes feel tempting to get a few good cards though. I would say the strategy aspect is very nice, it is casual but it can get absolutely competitive. All in all it surprised me how much I enjoyed the game, it has a whole bunch of flavor text from the Witcher games and lore, which makes it more interesting. The art is also amazing, especially for premiums, which show an animated version of the card. I never write reviews, but I think I owe some gratitude for their efforts and enjoyable card game. 5/5 Great Strategy Card Game, thanks and keep rocking!.Version: 8.1.1

Captivating and genuinely brilliantI just finished the game in story mode and I have to say this is incredible work. The narration is superb, the game play is incredibly fun, so much so that it was hard to put down. There are a couple quirks as well but they can be easily overlooked given how long and detailed the story was paired perfectly with the Gwent style battles. One of the best things I found were the Gwent puzzles. You receive defined cards and some of them have complete new properties. Go treat yourself to this marvelous game!.Version: 8.0

Amazing game love loveHas evolved alot and its at a very good place right now ! Have played it since it was released long ago since before then actually on witcher, hands down the best game in its genre, one of the best games on phone period this is coming from a yugioh fan. Love it helps on my 12hr security shifts gutted its not on ps anymore ! Thank you guys.Version: 7.3.1

Thank you CDPRI’ve played Gwent since it’s release for the PlayStation I actually waited on it’s release! I’ve experienced the many many changes and updates, it’s a lot different from its release and pretty much nothing like the game in the Witcher 3 aside from the basic higher point count wins deal. The game is fun and requires some actual strategy and understanding of certain play styles, I read the reviews and see some people complaining about pay to win tactics and crap like music and design anyway I would be more than happy tell them that, I’ve played this game for two years or more and have never payed a dime! I win matches with ease forging cards with scraps that I’ve earned just by playing the game I’ve never felt pressured to or at a disadvantage for not spending which saying that’s rare is an understatement for a free to play game, strategy is needed to win not money. That being said I do feel guilty for not supporting this game and CDPR sooner, I plan on buying meteorite powder to make my favorite cards premium. Gwent is a love letter to Witcher fans, card game players or just gamers as a whole..Version: 5.2.9

No player player interactionI love the game but there is no interaction with other players I just wish you could play your friends as I have three mates now signed up to the game but I can’t play them it does seem like it’s a game where you can play people but sometimes it would be nice to play against your mates! Other than that the game is great!.Version: 11.10.9

Gwent is goodSeriously fun. So glad they made Gwent as a main game.Version: 7.2

A true game of GwentI enjoy Gwent to the point I have my own player decks. This game is great for on the go.Version: 10.11.2

Review for GeentI like this game, there is e-sport, there are no bugs, always new content, version for pc and mobile, nice graphics and music, what more can you ask in a card game? Well done to the company team❤️.Version: 7.4

A lot of to exploreBeautiful graphics, sounds. I would say many good words about it. However there are a few things to improve. Moving cards from hand to 1 row is uncontrollable. In many cases it lands in 2 row. Also I would suggest to add more advanced tutorial. Current is ok, but when I went to Arena I do not know how same card features work. After all very good card game!.Version: 4.1.1

Love, except..I love this game. I love the setup, I love the fan service. But I HATE that there are so many players that will exploit and take complete advantage of new cards. Every single update, I end up playing against a stream of people that will ALWAYS win because they found a way to manipulate certain cards to give themselves a giant boost. It makes the game less fun and makes me want to play it way less..Version: 9.5

EpicOne of the Best card games I’ve ever played. Definitely the best of the genre!! A definite must play if you like Fantasy or just a damn good card game..Version: 4.1.1

Brilliant CCG, bad portIf you’re looking for a great unique card game with non predatory micro transactions then look no further, unfortunately the mobile controls aren’t great though, especially when playing special cards and using leader abilities, otherwise A+.Version: 11.10.9

Very fun gameI enjoy playing this game quite a lot. The strategy is easy to pick up, the mechanics can be bit strange to get used to. Deck building is fun and intuitive and it’s not to difficult to make a big mistake when you do build a deck and play it. Unlike other games it’s not to punishing on you if you do make a mistake, which is nice. Over all it’s great game, especially for Witcher fans and for those just getting to the Witcher series to. Easy to play a turn of fun would definitely recommend. ^-^.Version: 7.0

An amazing game!Since I’ve downloaded this game last year I played it everyday truth to god. Every. Single. Day. And not a single day did this game disappoint. The strategic gameplay is cleverly woven that each player has a chance to win despite what cards they have. The art is gorgeous and the animation is lively. I recommend adding more purchasable content that can be bought with in-game currency. Like more boards and different kegs. Because right now I just play and don’t have anything else to buy or earn so more content will be much appreciated. I’d say I want to see board of landscape and landmarks from the the Witcher: the wild hunt in the game and skins of the main characters for all fractions. And each with different outfits! Thank you for making this amazing game that I would continue playing everyday and would recommend to my cherished ones. ( ps: I play scoia’tael fraction! ).Version: 5.1.1

Was going excellently… then lost connectionAfter playing Witcher 3 I got this game cause I wanted to try out some more in-depth Gwent. Started to get into the game and everything was going brilliantly, great mechanics and card combinations but then recently the game has randomly declared the connection has been lost when I haven’t moved and have full WiFi signal as well as 4G yet it stops connecting. This bug has caused multiple game timeouts for poor connection when the signal is fine. Please fix this bug so I can continue playing, it was definitely a 5 star game until that started to happen Many thanks.Version: 9.2

GoodGood.Version: 11.1

Great but...This is an awesome game straight from Witcher with lore and all but there’s a big rage quitting problem where people quit mid game after losing or looking like they will lose, I think you should add a penalty to people who decide to do this maybe like they can’t play for 5 minutes or something as it really ruins the experience.Version: 4.1.2

We love you CDPR!Phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal, man. Everything about it, what you’ve done with Andrzej Sapkowski’s series of books is nothing short of genius. This is no exception. Best mobile game ever. Players get little cheesy at a higher level with exploits but other than that a fantastic game. Your whole dev team deserves an abundance of credit. Thank you for your masterpieces..Version: 11.10.9

Great game- terrible communication on one interaction howeverSo let me get this right? I play 5 online games and am rewarded the premium keg for doing so, but because I refused to leave a review I no longer keep the keg? At least make it obvious that it WASN’T optional. Other than that the biggest issue I find with the app is that a lot of the UI seems too small for mobile, it’s a little tough editing out the cards in your deck and navigating the main menu could be a bit more intuitive. Upgrading rewards is a bit also quite finicky since the items are so small and it’s hard to select the one you want without repeated tries, but aside from that the game’s not bad..Version: 4.1.3

Best free to play CCG availableThe art is gorgeous the strategy is amazing and the game is generous is allowing you to build your collection without paying a fortune. I’ve played over 500 hours in 6 months. Highly recommend it.Version: 7.0

Baba BooeyThis game is good, have so far only played early game but seems pretty balanced. Some are traditionally better than others but it never seems like you have 100% lost. If you are going to play this I suggest at the begging picking a faction and sticking to it then branch off later. Been having a blast playing this, wayyyyy better than hearthstone imo. Easy to learn too..Version: 7.1.2

牛逼!蠢驴牛逼!!巫师系列牛逼!!.Version: 4.1.1

Strategic and addictive!I’ve played this every day for the past 2 years and it never gets boring. There’s around 1500 cards in total, 5 factions to play as, each having a different play style to one another. Plus a pool of neutral cards which all factions can use within their decks. With so many cards to choose from, this makes for some highly creative and strategic gameplay. Ive personally spent days in the deck builder making all kinds of weird and wonderful deck lists. I’ve played many other card games, from Legends of Runeterra to Marvel Snap. This game tops them all! The devs often release new cards and balance updates to keep the game fresh. The artwork is absolutely stunning and the music too. Oh and it’s totally F2P. The game provides plenty of resources to unlock all of the cards..Version: 10.12

Gwent the Witcher cards game…At first I didn’t know what I’m doing, because the game is complex and almost all cards interact or depend on each other. However the more complicated it seems and gets, equally more beautiful it will be… There are many, many different strategies and choices you can play the cards and also not one but several kingdoms and magical beasts you can play for. It may take some time to learn how to play and quite a few defeats, but its a true masterpiece in card games… :).Version: 9.4.1

LegendaryThis is what we’ve been waiting for. It’s perfect in every way. I was thrown off by how much the game has changed from W3 and even when I played it on console. But immediately the game was giving. Every win, you get something. You’re always working towards something. And once you get a new card, it can potentially change your whole strategy. The artwork is even better than before. CDPR keeps the game constantly updated which keeps me thinking about it. They have a new faction which blew me away. They even have their own mechanics. I’m truly overwhelmed. The game doesnt force you to buy anything. You don’t feel like you need to pay to win. But if you do you are rewarded a more comfortable and customizable play style that is unique to you. And the best part is I can play it on the go. My only problem with this is it didn’t come to phone years ago. Thank you CD. You’re seriously the greatest..Version: 4.1.2

A perfect deckbuilder in my favourite fantasy universeI’ve long enjoyed Gwent since playing it in the original Witcher, and the way they’ve taken it from such humble beginnings to this is impressive indeed. If you like collectible card games or The Witcher, this game will scratch all your itches and some you didn’t even know you had. The iPad version is almost identical to PC also, which is fantastic.Version: 6.1.2

AddictedThe card's strenghts, designs and the music around it = 10/10 And it's a real F2P!.Version: 11.9.1

Good game overallI have been playing for about a month and have found the game to be fairly balanced, with interesting types of varied gameplay. The game doesn’t seem to be a “pay to win” type of game, and micro transactions are not “in your face” all the time. My one complaint would be regarding the speed of gameplay, some players take a long time to make moves, and the built in turn countdown seems ineffective. Additionally, when switching to another app (say you get a text message, etc...) temporarily disconnects the game, and this is quite annoying to have another player constantly disconnect and reconnect slowing the gameplay in a very annoying manner. This could be fixed by muting the disconnect message, and allowing the player whose turn it is to continue making moves. Further improvement could be made by making the countdown timer mutually adjustable so players who make moves fast can enable a reduced timer..Version: 5.2.1

Don’t sleep on this gameAbsolutely flabbergasting, from the graphics to the gameplay. It’s a bit different from the Witcher 3’s gwent but nonetheless keeps it interesting. May not be for everyone, but once you get the hang of it is a fun strategical Card game..Version: 4.1.1

First card game! Was interested in this after really enjoying The Witcher 3’s Gwent game. First, this is not the same Gwent, it’s Gwent+. I’m pretty much hooked, having great fun with the free to play starter decks. There’s a great helpful online community to help beginners and don’t be afraid to use their help as the learning curve can be pretty steep! My only issues is that I have some connection issues - unable to sign in due to “connection issues”. Also, ranked can be pretty unforgiving for newer players using basic decks. It’s not impossible by any means but people with better cards simply have the advantage. However, more new players will balance this. There’s also lovely little bits of lore, the card art is amazing it’s genuine fun to play..Version: 5.1.1

Excellent Witcher universe entryThis is a brilliant game, very highly polished a lot of effort and attention to detail, blood sweat and tears have made this. However since I am an unsociable hermit I would prefer to play an AI instead of other people, thou that may also in part be due to my lack of card knowledge and ability to play. Overall this should be an app on your phone..Version: 4.1.1

Great mobile portI started playing Gwent on pc and figured I’d give the mobile version a go. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to read card descriptions clearly because of the smaller screen but everything is clear to see and I’ve not had any crashes so far. There’s just something about Gwent that I enjoy a lot more than other CGs like hearthstone..Version: 10.7

LegendI've never played like this well balanced, ultimate qualities of features and best card images👏 too. Highly strategic and superbly additive. Most of all, you don't need to pay cash for winning. You will collect every cards eventually..Version: 10.3

👍👍👍Great game👌.Version: 5.1.1

Best Card-Strategy Game on Mobile!First and foremost, I feel it’s important to give a brief summary for those who don’t know of the developers. These are the same masterminds who presented us with the Witcher games. They’re one of the most respected and determined game developers. I’ve put 20 hours into this game and I can assure you that this isn’t anything you’ve played before; This is coming from a veteran card-strategy gamer. From great mechanics to a well-done artistic style of characters, this is truly a masterpiece. Players who’ve played Gwent in Witcher 3 will truly appreciate the increased variations of cards for each respective deck. Gwent contains real characters from Witcher 3, which is an adaption of the best selling book series, “The Witcher”. I give this game a 9/10. This game is truly made to be played by strategy lovers..Version: 4.1.3

Decent game, good depth, rewarding and fun.My only down point is on my phone, sometime on the last card of the game, generally in R3, it drops the game and when I window or open the app again get a total cold start and end up loosing the match. I play on my phone which is a iPhone 8 +, or an iPad Pro, to which with the later I haven’t had this issue. Just kind of ruins my on the fly gaming. Other than that, the games a lot more rewarding and a lot less gated than any other card game I have played with a lot less pay to win feel. Yes you have to prioritise your resources and build a deck with more focus, but you don’t need to blast cash to do it. Learn your deck, and earn your resources to move forward..Version: 10.6.1

He好玩.Version: 10.12.3

Great game but5 stars for sure. Gwent is amazing, they’ve added a lot of detail to the cards and skill beats luck for sure and it pays to collect a skilful deck. Great animations and runs smoothly (depends what phone you have I guess). Only disappointment for me is the syndicate deck. It is super overpowered prepared to the other decks so be prepared. The game is fun when you’re facing normal decks but as soon as you face a syndicate deck they just take the lead right away and get 50+ easily without doing much because of the auto buffs the cards have. So if they nurfed syndicate then I’m sure this game would be even more fun. The other decks seems absolutely fine and balanced. I guess because syndicate is newer and they’re trying to balance it still. But no chance if you play other decks. I can win against other decks and have done with a win streak but as soon as someone only 1 level above me had a syndicate deck, he demolished me with ease. Happened like every time I play against syndicate..Version: 4.1.1

Please add Ukrainian language supportI really love this game, but also I’ll gonna feel more comfortable to play Gwent in my native language, please, add Ukrainian language, there is a many Ukrainian players too.Version: 11.10.9

Amazing game, but need to iron out the bugsThe game is splendid, very well balanced and fun, however some of the bugs drive me crazy, one of the main ones being the “Network errors”. There are two instances where it seriously hampers gameplay- one is when “opponent connection” becomes an issue to the point where you need to quit; the other; more infuriating one, happens after editing the deck. You spend 20 minutes perfectly balancing your deck, finally get it right, press to return to the previous menu, and an error claims network was long (it wasnt) and as a result the deck changes didn’t save, and all this time was wasted. Considering the prices the developers chose to charge for in app purchases, this game is aimed at young adults, so please fix those because it makes me put the game down in frustration and not want to pick it back up.Version: 4.1.3

Amazing but...The game is great especially for mobile but there is a delay in touch when in gameplay to select a card also to allow double touch click on a card instead of clicking on the tick box on the bottom right corner as this makes for a quick play. As well to fix the profile page within the game menu that displays ranked, avatar, and wins of different factions you choose, to make the UI more clearer to see and appropriate size for mobile gaming..Version: 7.1.2

Better then Gwent in the Witcher 3I don’t normally play card games at all or even mobile games and I thought this would be similar to the Witcher 3 Gwent but I was surprisingly wrong. This game has a much more battle like system that really makes you think out your plays and factions. By far one of the best games I’ve played on mobile and doesn’t seem to be nagging at you to pay to win. Give it a try..Version: 11.9.1

Rage quittersRage quitters should be penalised or something. Had this one salty player purposely disconnect because I totalled him, had to wait on a ‘trying to reconnect’ screen for a few minutes before I could continue on!.Version: 4.1.1

Been waiting since 2015As soon as I played Gwent in the Witcher 3, I knew it would make a solid app and I was desperate to see it. For years I scoured forums looking for any news. The release of Gwent on consoles and PC kept me satisfied for a while but I still needed a mobile release. This is a solid take on Gwent, with stunning mobile graphics and motion that brings more life into the traditional card game format. Overall, it’s all I could’ve asked for from Gwent. I just want more cards..Version: 4.1.1

Excellent and surprisingly balancedThis game caters to pro and casual gamers nicely. There’s cards to counter mostly everything and the game is always updated with fixes and balance changes very often. I personally found the progression system in this game very enjoyable and rewarding.Version: 6.2.1

Best CCG in the marketGwent is a fascinating game that is easy to learn but hard to master. The mobile version is just as good as the PC version, the game is incredibly generous with rewards. It takes less a month to build a tier 1 deck for most. Highly recommend!.Version: 4.1.1

Yes!I love this game!.Version: 5.0

Pay to Win, unbalanced factions & Shocking connection issues.Cough up the dough to get the cards you want otherwise forget it. Decks are so unbalanced when it comes to factions. Monster decks for example exploit the thrive and death-wish bonuses they have. You can get cards to destroy cards but these lack any points that add to your score so you are to helpless at times to gain the scores to win the round. Nilfgard are just a major cheat deck and went from being one of the worse factions to now being OP, now to moan about my main issue which is the connection. My god DONT MOVE from your SPOT because you are going to lose that game. The connect is so twitchy and on several occasions I’ve managed to get the WiFi connection but the game has none of it and still gifts the game to the opponent. Shame because the game has some potential. sorry guys but some of us work for a living and on break fancy a game of Gwent but no WiFi no win. Sort it out..Version: 5.0.1

Just Awesome - Thanks CDPRSuch a fun, strategic game. Game feels like it’s just starting to mature. The daily rewards really respect your time. You can get any particular deck you want very quickly (especially early on when the game floods you with rewears points). They've designed the game so that cosmetics are the one my thing truly behind a difficult grind/pay wall - In addition there are enticing but ultimately very minor perks from the prestige system which serves as a non money long grind. This game really deserves more attention, if nothing else than just for the good will extended by the developers. In contrast to other companies, CDPR is likely leaving a lot of short term money on the table by having such a fair system in a free-to-play game. They seem to truly be a company with a set a values they try to adhere to. I urge all CCG and Witcher fans to give this game a shot, and if you do enjoy the game to buy something (Thronebreaker is incredible and a great way to spend money on the game.). If we want to keep seeing this from developers we should support them. For me this is the most money I’ve spent on a f2p game, and it’s because I want to support the game, not because I felt I had to. I don’t have time to play games much these days at a PC, but now that I can play a game in the downtime’s of my day, I’m sure I’ll be active in gwent for a very long time!.Version: 4.1.2

Awesome game, addictive! As a big Witcher fan I found this game to be awesome. It’s at its face a simple game, a card game similar to many other of the same type but what sets it apart is the polish “no pun intended” :) this game has. Rather it’s the intricate ways you can modify your profile, name, avatar, etc or the sounds and moving actions many of the cards display when played, making them feel alive. The game is addictive and a great time waster. I find myself coming back to it numerous times a day as I strive to upgrade my deck and gain new cards. The game offers packs for sale but does not seal off anything from those who don’t spend money. It can all be achieved without paying albeit at a slower pace. Furthermore this is not a pay to win game. Spending money may give you more cards at a faster rate but does not empower you beyond the reach of non paying gamers. This alone is a very welcome difference to most other games out there. Highly recommended..Version: 6.1.3

Best card game EVER!As an avid card game player, I’ve stuck to the mainstream card games such as Hearthstone and Magic for years, and I thought that wouldn’t change. But I was wrong. When my college friend invited me to play Gwent, I was reluctant at first because I’ve never heard of the game before. Upon trying, however, I realized that this game is different, and in the best way possible. The developer is very generous, and you can build up a great card collection by simply playing a fraction of the time it’ll take to get anywhere in any other card game. The game is also much less RNG-based. Skill and strategy is everything in Gwent, unlike the draw-every-turn-and-hope-you-get-the-right-card-at-the-right-time games like Hearthstone. I’d highly recommend giving this underrated game a try, and be sure to tell your friends about it if you enjoy. See you on Gwent!.Version: 5.0.1

Modern Day ChessCan't get enough of Gwent! Excellent strategy game that makes you stop and think before each move. Deck-building is key. But just like chess, just because you have a good deck, it doesnt make you a good player. It's quite sad that they're stopping support for it though - I've been a fan since Day 1!.Version: 11.6.1

Offline supportWould offline support be introduced in the future? I would enjoy it further if I can playing against bots in a plane or on a long car trip, without having to connect to the internet. Thank you..Version: 5.1.1

Fantastic Game!!!Not having the time to play The Witcher, this brilliantly presented game offers a portable way to dive into The Witcher universe. The gameplay is addictive and very satisfying. Reward points are challenging to obtain and there is a lot of replay value. My only issue is that, in training mode, you can only duel against a monsters deck that never changes in terms of deck formula. Definitely give this game a go..Version: 4.1.2

Best of this genreDefinitely a more strategic card game than Hearthstone, on top of that a generous progression system and passionate devs? You’ve got yourself a deal mate. Also has some really gorgeous card animations. It just needs a bit of work for battery and fps issues..Version: 4.1.1

Deadly gameOnce you find the GOG app and see how decks are built and try a few out the game becomes quite addicting. Been playing a year now and love it..Version: 10.4

OIts really good.Version: 4.1.1

Absolutely Stunning & Fun to playI should say I’ve been playing GWENT for well over 2/3 years now ever since closed beta. It’s been a journey watching it grow and I’ve got to say it’s only got better for newcomers. I’ll start with the card art. Visually some of the most beautiful cards and pieces of art I’ve seen. They know the art is one big usp so they go all out in hiring great artists, it really brings to life each character. You can almost read into the card and tell a little story. So expect to see a lot of friendly (and unfriendly) faces if you’ve played the game/read the books before. Gameplay wise it’s quite intuitive and simple. Play one card each turn, cards have simple yet synergistic effects. Playing your cards right and making the right decisions are what win games, not money, cards or boosters. It’s all skill..Version: 5.0.9

Best card game out thereHearthstone, magic the gathering etc all pale to this card game. The artwork is breathe taking, the synergies are fun, and challenging as well. I love this game- I cannot get enough of it! It takes Gwent from the Witcher series and gives it a total face lift. I’m only sad that I discovered it so late- as they are not going to be releasing new patches etc in 2024 I don’t think. Try this! Don’t be intimidated. It is easy to learn, just stick with it. If you don’t like the direct pvp vibe- don’t worry. You never have to talk to anyone. You just play. They have this feature where you can “taunt” etc whilst you play, however you are able to turn this feature off. Try it. You will love it!.Version: 11.5

Elegant, Exciting, Enticing, and EnduringA truly sublime game with a great amount of dev support to keep players engaged. A five star is deserved overall; but as someone who has been a loyal fan and player, I’ve been a bit unpleased with the seemingly “whitewashed” artwork of the most recent cards. It seems as if the artists were given a guideline or rather restricting take on their creativity to promote a more “e for everyone” censored art that is rather not the case with older card’s artwork. My best example is the Scoia’tael cards. These very elegant and sublime characters were altruistic and natural; they now have uncharacteristic redundant clothing as if they fear the lack of modesty, making them feel unnatural and artist restricted of what they envision for these creatures. All in all they felt inappropriately censored compared to older cards and felt out of place and clunky as if it were purposed. Yes this is my opinion and does not alter the game or should it alter the ratings, however if the small things don’t matter than the big things shouldn’t either, and CD Projekt Red has been always cherished for the small intricate details of being authentic, and true to lore..Version: 7.1.1

Good game but very sensitive to connection issuesThe aim of a mobile game is to be played in train, bus etc I am commuting through London twice a day(overground) and the reception varies but never drops to zero. The game is unplayable, I’ve lost lots of matches and arenas in the last seconds due to connection issues. The game is lovely done and balanced however this issue literally cripples the experience. Shuld allow more retries, longer re-connection times etc i know this is a bummer for the opponent but it is a mobile game!!.Version: 4.1.3

Great fun but too many bugs...Great game and a really nice looking and functional port to iOS. Well done lads. I do have a few issues with the reward systems. After purchasing the premium pass,£9.99 to show my gratitude I have had a number of issues with: *Journey quest not updating, or just plain stuck. This is even after the most recent update 6.2 *50% or the time a GG bonus or +5 scraps won’t update your total scraps value. Seems like many users are suffering from the same problems on the Developers forums since April and it still persistant. Pretty small problems but more annoying for those who payed for premium to get a bit of extra loot. Cheers keep up the good fight!.Version: 6.2

Fantastic card gameThis game is actually pretty fun. If you’ve played the Witcher you might be familiar with Gwent, which was fairly limited as a minigame. This game builds upon that foundation in a really creative and interesting way. If you’re looking at this review to try to get an idea of what it’s like, I would say it’s kinda similar to Yu-Gi-Oh in that your cards are attacking each other, though the base objective is still to have the highest card value 2/3 of the rounds. With all of the abilities and stuff it’s just complex enough to be interesting but not so complex that it’ll take very long to get the hang of it. My only sort of issue with the game is the monetization. Of course a free game needs it, but I mean some of the card packs are $30+ and that seems insane. Doesn’t seem worth it to me for the prices offered, but luckily it’s not the type of game that forces you to spend money to progress. So overall I’d say it’s worth playing..Version: 4.1.1

A stellar entry into an otherwise saturated genreI have been playing Gwent since the early days of closed beta; it has gone through so many iterations in rules, style, format, aesthetic... all of this speaks to the passion of the dev team and their constant willingness to engage their audience. It’s not a card game without flaws, but it is also not a game without reasons behind its decisions and developers that know when to be flexible. About this iOS version: I’ll admit it’s a little janky. The touch isn’t as smooth as other card games, but considering this is a launch, I only expect it to improve. Playing Gwent during a work break or while lounging on the couch has revitalized my perspective on all the fun I’m having. Do yourself a favor and try this game out. Insanely generous with its rewards, you’ll have workable and competitive decks in no time (relative to other products in this genre)..Version: 4.1.1

ONLY REGRET IS NOT FINDING THIS GAME 3 YEARS AGOThe graphics are out of this world. The game play is stellar. Card design? Impeccable. This is a game, heavily reliant on strategy. It takes a bit to get used to the mechanics, but once you do, it takes ahold of you. I’m gonna say it… This game is better than MTG in nearly every way. User friendly, much more engaging, and way less political (I’m still early though, so who knows?). Incredibly immersive, puts you directly in this world. Tutorial is also very helpful. Don’t sleep on it. I hate that we’ll be losing official support at the end of the year. However, A) we’ll get more cards and (from what I hear), updates that will solidify longevity. And B) it really makes it easy to progress (skillfully) when you don’t have to chase sets every week. I heard CD Projekt may have a change of heart before 2024 regarding the bail, so here’s to hoping. 10/10 devs. Seriously, so good..Version: 11.7.1

In game language optionIn what little I have played so far it has been good, similar to the Witcher game or Gwent stand-alone game. My only drawback so far has been the inability to set a language in app rather than using the phones default language. Is this an option that I have missed?.Version: 4.1.2

A unique CCG experienceGwent is not a new game. In fact it’s been on PC for three years already and the developers have worked very hard to get it to a point where it is not just a different experience but an enjoyable one. Though it shares a category with games like Hearthstone and MtG, Gwent’s unique blend of mechanics means it plays very differently, leaning particularly well on a players ability to think turns or even rounds ahead in order to take a victory. Gwent is very much a game that is easy to learn and difficult to master. The developers have done a good job too of making the mobile experience slick and smooth. It’s not perfect, though nothing is, and there are some visual and playability bugs that need ironing out, but CDPR are aware of this and already working on it. I highly recommend you try out this great and very generous game. It is free, after all, and it might introduce you into a world you can’t walk away from..Version: 4.1.1

Great game, horrible appGameplay, art, music is great, best in the ccg market. Horrible app, extremely clunky, non existent re-connect feature..Version: 11.8

Spot OnI have been around playing ccg games for a while , Gwent bring it to a whole different level, to the cards designs, gameplay, soundtrack, story line, you got it all, the whole package, could rate it an extra star if I could, close your eyes , drop your magic the gathering, hearthstone and others, the real deal is here, see you on game ! 🙅‍♂️.Version: 10.9.1

The best card game of any platformThis my friends is the best card game of any platform. The production that this game has is amazing. Even viewing a card plays its own sound/music to immerse you in the wonderful art style this game has. Every card have its own moving art and its own sound! (to be unlocked, vanity) Gameplay is challenging at first but I can tell you this game is not pay to win. The players you see with “good” cards are long time players from the PC (yes, it all gets brought in to iOS too!). Also, check out the online communities to get help on how to build your deck. Give it time and its charm will blow your mind :).Version: 4.1.1

Great gameAlthough it took me some time to get used to no longer having the 3 tier system (melee, range & artillery) this is everything I have been wanting for an on the go card game. I probably sunk in as many hours playing Gwent as I did the side missions of Witcher 3 so to say I had high expectations for the mobile app would be an understatement. Nevertheless I have no been disappointed. 9/10 for me.Version: 4.1.1

Needs time investing but very worth itI was critical when I first got this. The first few days are easy then you hit rank 25 and boom, suddenly you are with actual people who can play a bit. But it makes you get good. You have to learn how to combine cards and build a deck with a plan in mind. If you are struggling for ideas just look online. Plenty of videos of the latest strong decks and handy links to the cards you need to build them. Save scraps up and use them for building such decks. As with any online game, some people you play can be not the best, but on the whole is a mature and decent experience. No it's not quite the same as the game. But it's better..Version: 11.10.6

Hands down the best card game!Very generous reward system. Deep complex gameplay. Amazing artwork and if you crack a premium card it’s a truely beautiful animated treasure that brings the card to life. There is a bit to learn at first but it needs to be complex in order to be a real strategic card game that doesn’t just rely on RNG. When you win it’s because you played your cards right, not because you got lucky and drew the right cards. Very satisfying and you don’t get frustrated by simply getting unlucky. As a result Matches go for are a bit longer than other TCGs but trust me it’s worth it..Version: 4.1.3

ABSOLUTELY PERFECTThis game is absolutely incredible. What an amazing, addicting, and entertaining game in every way. AND NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A CENT TO GET DEEP INTO THIS, so don't listen to that garbage. Phenomenal job devs! Truly. Every time I close the game down I want to immediately open it back up. OK, enough writing - back to playing! 5/5 all the way! UPDATE: I HAVE OFFICIALLY DROPPED ALL OHER CARD GAMES. THIS ONE IS THE ONLY ONE I'LL EVER NEED! UPDATED UPDATE: I felt the need to do this again after seeing other people's stupid reviews. If you're failing at this game, it's because you aren't good, NOT BECAUSE OF THE CARDS lol. Honestly people. Quit whining about fairness and just practice and get better! Don't listen to the low reviews they are just from players that are mad because they can't win. There is no card game out there more fair than this. You can absolutely win over and over and over with a CRAP DECK. ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT CARDS YOU HAVE, ITS HOW YOU PLAY THEM! Devs, this game is truly a gem, don't listen to the haters :).Version: 5.2.9

Keep supporting this gameI barely like card games and I can’t get enough of this.Version: 10.12.3

Have to play the metaGreat game! (Disregard if you have money to invest into purchasing cards) Before you pick your first faction to invest your time into gaining cards to make a competitive deck: do your research into what is the meta presently. Each season brings nerfs and buffs. If you don’t pick a “meta” faction, you’ll get to a certain rank where it becomes very difficult to win a game. For example, when writing this: Scoia’tael faction is widely accepted to be comparatively weak by reviewers and other reputable sources. Meaning, even if you unlock the entire factions’ cards and build the best decks recommended for that faction, you get wrecked by the more dominant faction’s deck builds..Version: 10.2

How about a round...Absolutely beautiful port of the game to iOS. The touch screen controls are accurate and fluid, the game’s graphics and visual artwork is stunning. The micro-transactions are as expected and unlike some other games out there they are very reasonably priced. What a joy to play the best card game on mobile. Well done CD Projekt Red, please keep doing your fan base proud..Version: 4.1.1

Play Gwent 4.75/5Gwent is the freakin best and this is the most in depth version of it. The only kinda crappy part is it basically only online but it’s still amazing..Version: 4.1.1

Remarkably GoodI’ve been playing this since it first came out on PC a few years ago, so was buzzing to hear it was coming to IOS. I assumed it would be a slightly simplified version but somehow this is Gwent in its full, highly animated glory. I’ve never spent a penny on this game (although I did get Thronebreaker, a single player stand-alone PC game) and I have enough currency to craft every single card..Version: 5.0.10

Best online card game there isI’ve tried many card games online, and none come close to Gwent’s ingenuity, uniqueness, and aesthetic. This is coming from someone who considers MTG the best paper card game ever made. Gwent holds a special place in my heart when it comes to online games. The gameplay is so interesting and unique that I just can’t stop coming back..Version: 8.4

Gwent is LIFEBest card game ever created! Period! And also it is so sick that they made a standalone game from the witcher 3 minigame that was gwent!.Version: 10.10

Gwent is litGwent is pretty lit.Version: 10.10.1

<3Thought I'd update my review to be more in-depth. In a world of digital card games with mechanics ripped from either MTG or Hearthstone, Gwent is a breath of fresh air. Although the one card per turn structure may seem simple on the surface, the three-round format makes for interesting and complex dynamics around when to pass and which resources should be used now as opposed to later rounds. Small deck sizes minimise RNG, although there is still enough present to make the game feel fresh from game to game. Currently the game is also very well balanced thanks to it's exquisitely dedicated devs, which means you can play almost anything and still snag wins against some of the best decks (provided you're good). Core gameplay aside, the game's art is also phenomenal, and each card has a premium animated version which you can truly tell have been made as a labour of love. Gwent also rewards you generously for playing- more so than almost any other digital CCG on the market. Top tier decks can be built free to play quite quickly if you're playing regularly. Although the game has some minor flaws, none of them have ever felt like deal-breakers and I have a lot of faith that CDPR will continue to support the game going forward. I implore you to give this game a go..Version: 4.1.1

Very funAs title says very fun game, quite a bit different to Gwent on pc and Witcher 3 but still just as fun. Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because I feel like the game doesn’t quite explain some of the parts of this game well enough or sometimes at all, bit more help for when starting out and could easily be 5 stars..Version: 4.1.2

Good game!I wrote a bad review a few days ago, because I was annoyed about only being able to play one card a turn, but after complaining to my boyfriend (who was the one who got me into the Witcher games in the first place) he convinced me to give it another chance, and I did, and I realised that this is actually more strategic than the version in the Witcher 3, and therefore much more rewarding when you win a game. I must apologise for my too-quick judgement, I really enjoy this game now..Version: 6.3

The ultimate CCGI always enjoyed playing Gwent in the Witcher 3, but thought it was a bit simplistic to be bothered playing a dedicated version of it. Now that I finally got around to trying it, I am blown away by how detailed, complex and polished the game is. There are so many different strategies you can come up with and all six factions in the game feel very unique. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, with each card having an upgraded animated version. The game is an absolute joy to play. The best thing though is that you can obtain new card packs quite quickly and as such, playing the game never feels like a chore..Version: 5.0

Just started this gameSo far so good. I get to play with ppl with similar rank for now which is great because I can still win even with the free decks they provided. This game comes highly recommended by a friend who is on rank 9 and never paid a dime..Version: 4.1.2

Love itLove it.Version: 5.0.10

Amazing GameAs a fan of The Witcher book and game series, including the 3rd game that introduced GWENT into play, this is definitely my favorite game on iOS, which is funny because I’ve never been into tabletop card games very much. It’s slightly different than the version you play in The Witcher 3, but if you played it there 1st and understand the concept of how to use your cards in conjunction w/each other then you can literally have unlimited fun playing. It does have a system, like other games, where you can pay to advance and acquire things quicker, but it’s probably one of the most balanced games in terms of how you can earn everything equally for free over a bit of more time. The devs have done a great job continuing to support it and put out new content..Version: 6.2.1

Epic Game , A must to play for Witcher fans. The game is great and I’m with it since the testing level. For sure a must to play or at least worth checking if someone is not the card game fan. Personally this game changed my view on card games as I prefer other types like RPG or FPS. P.S Please advise why under the app there is info that the app supports my phone , while after running it it comes straight that this phone is not supported (iPhone 6 on 12.4.5 with newest apple insider profile and certificate’s)..Version: 6.1

Best Card Game YetI have played all the main CCG’s and Gwent sets the bar to new heights. Not as RNG based as the others and although subjective, I personally think it has better art, music and sound all round. It caters for a more mature crowd too, which is a plus for me. The other card games are too cartoony and the voice lines are childlike. Gwent is for real men and real women..Version: 4.1.1

Good game, terrible balancePros: very good art, sound, gameplay Cons: playing at higher ranks is torture because the devs continually release busted cards.Version: 10.9.1

A fun and entertaining time killer.Whenever I was playing the Witcher 3 my first thought wasn’t “can’t wait to play GWENT.” But now that it’s focused on iPhone I find myself addicted and madly enjoying it. Not only is the card game blatantly fun but it has a good amount of nostalgia that makes it even more enjoyable to people who played Witcher 3. Looking through the monsters category and recognizing all the monsters like the gryphons, drowners, and the wild hunt was just so enjoyable to me (this goes for the other categories to). It’s also easy to get cards so you aren’t pressured in any way to spend money which is a fantastic feature to me. The main problem with the game right now is whenever I play a match of GWENT there are short pauses in the game saying I need to reconnect. These happen multiple times and are often but I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal. Of course other than that issue this game is a lot of fun and I definitely recommend it.Version: 7.4.1

Great game but..Love playing and actually fairly easy to play... couple of things though... seems a bit hard when you are a low level match up against some one level 45 or even higher... plus, are there any explanations as to anything else like milling/crafting?? Yeah a few of my cards have now got sparkles on them but what does that actually do??.Version: 5.0.9

The type of card game I have been looking for which checks all the right boxesI have tried so many card games on the AppStore and they may be fun for a week or two by the the mechanics of the game and the constant grinding to get new cards etc leave you really bored and frustrated. Now Gwent is the perfect balance. The artwork is like no other IOS game, and the game mechanics are simple yet there are so many layers of strategy. Each faction has several different types of units which when used together can amount up to at Least 3 types of different gameplays for each faction. Overall I would say Gwent is perfect and there is no other card game on the AppStore that compares. Well done do the developers. Love the game and will continue to play it and recommend to my friends. 😁🌟. PS: this is one of the most generous games out there. You can get everything for free. If you love the game. Buy their pass and support the devs.Version: 11.9

Not a pay-to-winNot a pay-to-win for once. Love it.Version: 10.7

For those who loved the base version of the game Gwent W3I didn’t see myself playing this game... I bet you’ve heard that one before. But honestly I thought the in game version was enough. I was comfortable with the way it was structured and I’d didn’t think it needed any improvement. Not to say the in game version was bad. I convinced myself on two separate occasions that this new version was "the bad version" I gave it 15 minutes of my time on PS4 likewise on Xbox. Well. the third time the charm. So, what can I tell now after 2-3 days of playing. It’s definitely fun and I’m enjoying it more than I would like to admit. If you’re curious about it even in the slightest way possible. I recommend it especially to those Gwent players that critique every last detail down to the bone. "You know who you are and I know who you are". Gg’s everyone, Mary Christmas and happy New year’s.Version: 5.0.1

I love gwent but...I’d really like to play in an offline mode where no wifi connection is required and have the option to play against friends..Version: 7.3

Slow loading timesGreat game held back by slow loading time to first screen! Defo not a quick play game when u have to wait so long to get into the menu. Tutorial is also pretty garbage. But the game is solid..Version: 5.1.1

Great game and you don’t have to spend anything!I never leave reviews for stuff on here but I must say Gwent is an awesome game! Easily one of the best card games I’ve played. I was a fan of the Witcher 3 Gwent game and although the transition to this version was a little odd, I’ve since become hooked. The best part about this game is the fact that I’m now level 18 rank, I’ve unlocked a ton of stuff, my deck is just *chefs kiss and I’ve almost maxed out one of the factions all without spending a single penny! You can buy stuff of course, and people do, but it’s most definitely not pay-to-win.Version: 10.4

Good game but quite buggyI’ve been a fan of the Witcher series for some time now and I’m very glad the in game card game gwent was integrated to its own game. I played gwent on the Xbox for a bit and I gotta day it was quite addictive 😅 Now I was really happy when I heard gwent was releasing on mobile and it’s exactly the same as the Xbox version so it was easy for me to get used to. As fun as it is I’ve been frustrated at times when a one constant problem came up. eternal loading screens. I’ve experienced it when I first made an account and was waiting for it to load And I’ve experienced a few times after like when I tried to reload the game or when in the middle of choosing cards from a keg the loading screen would perpetuate for around 30 seconds then it would ask me to chose again only for when I tried to do anything the same loading screen would appear. Other than that it’s been pretty solid😊 I’d also like to point out that when you create an account name there is no pop up that specifies what kind of characters are not aloud so I hope you would integrate that for clarity’s sake. Some may say this game is pay to win and to a degree their not wrong, you can get very powerful cards through buying kegs yet at the same time if you build a really strategic deck and get lucky you can win almost any game no matter the card levels Thank you CD Project red team for working on such awesome games and I’m really excited for cyberpunk 2077!.Version: 4.1.1

Really fun gameWasn’t sure what I would think about this game but it’s really good! Even though I’m still learning and keep losing lots I still want to keep playing.Version: 9.5

An incredible game!I came across this game when I found images of the cards on Google. It’s quite unique and really fun. A lot of production value and art in the app. The game itself is easy to follow once you understand when a cards power is triggered. Definitely strategy involved. Play cards in the right order to trigger the right effects. The pass option got me confused at first but now I see it’s purpose. If you win the first round, perhaps pass on the second to lose but keep more cards for the third round. Pass too early and your opponent may pass and keep more of their cards, too. I wish this was a real life card game!.Version: 11.4.3

Revised review after 2 weeks: It’s pretty greatI loved the Witcher trilogy on console and am enjoying this souped-up version of the in-game card game. It took a while but two weeks into it I’m winning maybe half the hands. The visuals are first-rate and the reward system is generous. I did drop the $30 on a starter pack and it helped, but isn’t mandatory. Anything you can buy you can also earn the old-fashioned way, by playing a lot. Patiently studying the decks and learning some tricks takes time but is enjoyable. It’s a complicated, challenging and enjoyable realm. Recommended. Earlier: First impression: Balance issue where I’ve been playing two days and I’m pitted against vastly superior deck. I’m still playing starter deck and opponent is whipping out artifacts and all sorts of combos and beats me in two rounds. I assume that by dropping $30 I can at least begin to feel competitive. Huge learning curve and I played the heck out of Gwent in the Wild Hunt on PS4. I don’t want to have to pay to compete while I’m still just beginning to learn the basics. Back to practice play I guess. Brutal learning curve — you’ve been warned..Version: 5.0

One of the best, if not the bestI enjoyed this game immensely. The game itself requires you to use skill and not luck mostly, so it depends on who has the better deck or better skills. It just makes it feel more rewarding. Also, I like it that you play it in rounds instead of just one game. Usually CCGs would have you play one game where you most of the time the matches depends on the luck of the draw. It also sometimes makes you dread ranked matches. With Gwent, though, you get used to losing a round or two. So it doesn’t feel as nerve wrecking as a single match CCG. And it’s not p2w at all. The game itself is generous enough to give you packs and about five starter decks that can hold their own. Of course, you’ll lose a few matches with someone whose uses Op cards, but that’s part of the game. You just grind a bit to get a couple of packs. Overall, this game is the best, as it requires you to know what you’re doing with your deck (a.k.a. skills)..Version: 4.1.1

Love the game!!!So I’ve been playing this since it was released as a beta and I have seen how they’ve evolved it into what we see today and it’s incredible...The pros to this game include tons of rewards to claim in the beginning stages and you get whatever faction you want to use off the bat...the con like any Mobile game is that you have to pay if you want a better chance of progression because as you level up there’s comes a point where it slows down a lot and you don’t see as many rewards so you almost have no choice but to pay if you want better card packs for a better advantage, but they knew this which is what they based their marketing strategy on...If you can look past that and grind through it’s a very awesome and addictive game to play..Version: 10.5

Intellectual card game. Everything can be obtained without spendingThis version of gwent has expanded a lot from the in game version on the Witcher. It provides a lot more cards and many different abilities that combo great with other cards. You can really play around with the deck to suit the way you want to play. The progression system of this game has been done really well and DOES NOT force the player to purchase in order to progress. It has been made in a way the everything is obtainable with a decent amount of speed and in all honesty, the speed that you obtain the cards gives you the time you need in order to learn there abilities and how to use them effectively. You can still purchase packs if you would like but in no way is the game pay to play. At. All. This game doesn’t require mindless man hours in order to have fun as it’s simply a match by match. So your not forced to do “daily quests” in order to keep up with others. Play at YOUR leisure and have fun! I highly recommend..Version: 7.1.2

MerunitFun game just in time I got a bit bored with Hearthstone. Screen is a bit busy and sometimes hard to read from the average phone screen, it gets overwhelming. Otherwise great game with some interesting features. Both similar and different from HS..Version: 4.1.3

Very generous and fun game...Until you reach R1 and pro rank... when you face double ball lockdown, soldiers ball and mystic echo 10x in a row when you are playing a monsters meme deck... lots of tryhards who play only 1 deck, and will undoubtedly get stomped at higher ranks. I play meta decks and win - no problem! Needs more consistent content updates and better (pro consulted) nerfs and buffs to certain decks and cards. If CDPR employed a few pros as consultants, it really wouldn’t affect the lower rank players and new players - it wouldn’t affect the business model. In fact making the game a bit more dynamic is a lot better. I know there will be fanboys who dislike these types of comments, but as stated before this is the best card game- but it is becoming a bit more luck based (not entirely skill as the description might suggest) sometimes you’ll just lose if you draw bad with a strong deck. Blue coin needs to be fixed big time, you’ll lose against a lot of meta decks if they smell blood in R1. Even though this game is outstandingly good, the art is PERFECT and the company is a lot less egregious than pretty much every other out there (Blizzard, for example is disgusting) there are still minor issues that can be ironed out that would make the game even better for everyone - and for the business model in the long term..Version: 6.2.1

My favourite gameI love playing this game because it’s become something familiar. It connects me to the franchise I fell in love with. Seeing the beautiful art and hearing the voice actors makes me super happy. I’m happy to support this game whenever I can- I’ve bought regis, yennefer and ciri so far and I’ve also bought resources. I honestly don’t mind buying things for this game, but you can play without spending a single penny- it’s still just as good. It’s true that there are certain decks that are hard to go against, and it can take a while to build your own that works well, but once you have it feels satisfying playing it and learning. I’ve heard rumours that you are leaving this app in 2023- and I want to say, I will be super sad if Gwent is given up on :( I love this game… it feels like coming home..Version: 10.12

Gwent > HSI was never really a huge fan of CCG’s but I did want to get into them. I started out like I’m sure most do with Hearthstone and it was fun for a while. The only issue I had with HS was it felt like a slog to get new cards. Crafting one card felt like it took ages of playing and I also didn’t like the whole gradually getting more gems for more powerful cards thing. Now Gwent...Gwent makes it easy. When you are first staring out in HS, you have two options, use the crap they give you and lose a ton or instantly start dropping cash for packs. Gwent on the other hand gives you start decks that can actually hold their own. They will carry you quite a ways and allow you to build us the crafting material you need so you can go and build the deck you actually want. Take it from me, a guy who doesn’t always play CCG’s. I don’t play often, but when I do, I play Gwent..Version: 4.1.1

Good launch on mobile. Ok/Rewarding monetisationsAnimations and transitions are pretty good. Some clunky iu issues with using leader or retrieving units from either deck or grave but overall pretty great. Ive been playing gwent since closed beta and in terms of monetization they were ludicrously generous for early players. Nowadays pricing seems fair but there are some ‘cosmetic’ and bundles that are simply not worth prices equalling to full priced PC or console games. Expansiom packs are also fairly priced and tonnes of feedback support is nice. (especially during the parge overhaul/rework of the whole game in comparison to gwent in TW3 and closed beta). Overall might be pricey but nothing in comparison to other CCGs for new players at the start (especially if you want to go pro ladder immediately). Really good incentives to keep playing as rewards are generous. Art is nothing less than superb. I haven’t seen a card game that has such a visually stunning amount of cards especially when they are in their premium form (animated).Version: 7.0

Different but funA well made and refreshing change to online card games. Gwent is generous with its rewards and making your perfect deck is far more doable than any other card game I’ve played. Gwent respects your time and your effort..Version: 8.3

Love it, better than in WitcherIt’s so intricate and advanced compared to the In game Gwent. And every card is so beautifully illustrated, while also having some of the best abilities and counters that I have ever seen in a card game. And it definitely is not “pay to win”, but the in game store prices, in my opinion, are completely reasonable. Low prices and amazing return on investment. By far my favorite game in the IOS App Store. My only “complaint” would be it seems that my opponent loses connection somewhat often, but it results in a win for me so I can’t really call it a “complaint”, nor is it on the developers end whatsoever. Just something to keep in mind if you’re a newer player, but other than that I see absolutely nothing wrong with this absolutely perfect game..Version: 7.1.2

Awesome but a couple of issues. The game's great, generous and looks and plays fantastic. I love CDPR and their games and never got to play Gwent before this release. Even though it's been changed alot since The Witcher 3 I still enjoy this alot. Sure, you might argue that removing the siege row from the game was a mistake and whatnot but it doesn't feel like it's needed to add depth. Also if you liked The Witcher music you'll like this one here too, it's really similiar and some of it is the same. You'll hear some familiar voicelines from characters when you play them too. Now for a bit of critisism: I've encountered a few bugs in a week's time of playing. Contracts not tracking, game stopping if certain conditions are met (happened to me once, after second round ended the game just stopped progressing the match further and instead of the ususal mulligan I was just stuck on the field with no message saying connection lost or anything, next thing I know my daily quest "Complete a standard arena run" pops up within this stuck game meaning I lost somehow. Had to restart the game after that.) I would also love to play the tutorial over again and can't seem to find a way to do so. And the addition of a more detailed combat log would too be helpful..Version: 4.1.2

Please give wild hunt a makeover!Been playing game since early beta on PC, the app is great and works really well. It looks great and is very fun. My main gripe is how they have changed the monster faction over time and it’s synergy with weather, the wild hunt as a faction feel completely useless now. Would be great if CDPR could redo this, maybe with some sort of white frost based wild hunt makeover and make them there own faction. My other issue is with the use of meteorite powder, why can we not buy all the ornaments in the shop with it? The prices of some ornaments are absurd and it restricts players from obtaining items without using real money. Surely there should be a meteorite price for each item as well?.Version: 5.1.1

3000+ hrs on pc / 3000+ hours on mobileThe best mobile game there is period..Version: 11.10.9

Great game but rotate factions when you startFirst off, the game is awesome. It’s currently my favorite mobile game and I play it almost daily. But you lose your incentive to change up factions at the higher levels. The matchmaking is based on your general level so it keeps things challenging, engaging, and fair. But if you gravitate to a particular faction like I did and are now looking to mix things up because you are bored, you lose your incentive to try new things, especially if you want to play ranked, because you are still paired with players that have honed their skills and got some awesome cards. If you are just starting out, rotate factions to enjoy more of the game while you are still paired with others that are doing the same..Version: 7.4

Great game and even better because it’s not “P2W” 👍Very good card game, lots of options to explore and doesn’t not break the bank to be competitive at all. Could use a few more frequent upgrades like any card game but very very good overall, and if your card game fan, you won’t regret this one at all 5/5..Version: 11.6

My favourite gameIt’s significantly more fun and engaging than the built in Gwent game to the Witcher 3. My favourite thing hint about it is how you’re not forced to pay to win. Given the right approach you can create any card in the game and build custom decks. Honestly even losing games is still fun! Must play for strategy game lovers!.Version: 10.7

Should be the top online card gameI stopped playing a few years ago during open beta, right around the time of the infamous homecoming update, and recently returned due to the iOS release. Boy, have things changed for the better. There have definitely been some missteps along the development pathway that have cost the game some of its initial momentum, but the devs have definitely shown they’re willing to rectify their mistakes. With as much polish (heh) and detail that this game has, it’s a shame it doesn’t have a larger following currently. The gameplay has multiple layers of strategy, the art is gorgeous (just look at premium Seltkirk) and, speaking of premium, you earn rewards, both new cards and the currency to make them, incredibly quickly, so you’ll be able to make competitive decks soon after starting. Some concepts may seem difficult to comprehend at first, such as card advantage and when how to time your turns, but the learning stage doesn’t take long. All you need is to practice a little, or watch some of the excellent instructional videos online. Whether you’re new to the game or returning after a hiatus, there’s no time like the present to get into Gwent..Version: 4.1.3

A must haveAmazing card game with a large community. Definitely worth the time and the size which is 2.5 GB. Although there is monetisation it does not push the fact. You actually have to go out of your way to find the option to purchase items which goes to show that money is not their motive for this title. Everything can be unlocked through progression..Version: 5.2.9

Best Card GameThis is the best card game I ever played. Challenging and fun.Version: 11.10.9

SpectacularAmazing game, with first-class balance, ability to play without being asked to pay to win, huge variety of cards, difficult to master yet easy to grasp... Spectacular attention to detail and really well thought system that requires you to think how to deploy your strategy. And that all comes in the perfect world of the Witcher series. #respect CD-Projekt Red. I hope your Cyberpunk2077 will be equally great with the plague of micropayments and micro transactions..Version: 4.1.1

Runs like a dream on mobilePlayed this game back on PS4 when it first came out. It was great then but has only improved now. Very generous and not p2w at all, not like HS. A lot of fun, looks incredible and runs very smoothly on iOS. Great game!.Version: 4.1.1

Not behdGood soize.Version: 5.0.9

Have to start all over againWhy can’t we import our console accounts?! I was super excited to give this a go as I’m never at home to play on my console, but now I have to start all over again. Would love a fox for this..Version: 4.1.1

Amazing CCG gameplay but client is slightly buggy and cumbersoeI have been playing collectible card games for over 30 years and I absolutely love this one. It's got unique gameplay and mechanics, a well balanced set of deck classes and subtypes, and great card art. The client is a little buggy and cumbersome but if it ever stops working just close the app and reload it. As fkr cumbersome just get comfortable with it if you like this type of game and are looking for a new one, as the issues the client has are outweighed by fun gameplay..Version: 11.10.9

A perfect card game for everyone. If you like the look of the card games out there but may find them a little too complex or not interesting enough, then play this right here. Gwent is that perfect balance of great mechanics/abilities that’s accessible to anybody looking to get into card games. A perfect time waster as well, don’t waste all your cards in one go, play methodically and you’ll have a blast. Every game will have one issue or another here and there and Gwent is not without them, but this game is perfect for mobile and definitely my latest addiction in mobile gaming. Everyone needs to just give this a shot for a little bit and you’ll find yourself having an amazing time. I don’t write reviews about games on the App Store usually but I had to on this one, just to encourage more people to at least give it a shot. Gwent is a real one!.Version: 4.1.3

Still needs improvementThe interactions are quite different from PC version. Hope there will be some adjustments later. Another issue is the balance. Some fractions now are easy to get key cards..Version: 4.1.1

This may be for youIf you played Qwent in the Witcher to avoid endlessly skipping through dialogue like me, you will like this game too.Version: 10.7

Like Before but with extra stepsGwent: The Witcher Card Game is just like the version adapted from Witcher 3: Wild Hunt but greatly revised, for better or for worse. I greatly enjoyed Gwent in that game. It was familiar for me to pick up and play this time around, but there’s so more layers on it than before, so it may not be as easy for someone who’s new to card games or adopting to play this version. That’s what made Gwent in the Witcher 3 enjoyable, it was simple, it had very tiny card rulings, that’s where I think this tapers off. For those who enjoy card games, you will be right at home here, for those who want to get in now, especially that the game has evolved over the course of the last 5 years or so.. It’s not as easy as it was before. Just another card game. At least Witcher 3 will always be there to go back to..Version: 11.1

Not behd not behdOnly four stars simply because I accidentally skipped tutorial and games is overwhelming and confusing at first. Perhaps an easing into process who work better. Otherwise a great game..Version: 9.4.1

Great game, not pay to win (although it can seem that way at first)This is one of the most forgiving f2p card games when it comes to monetization, and it is very easy to grind to a good deck. At first you may feel swamped by more expensive decks, but if you stick to ranked (which pairs you with similar opponents) you can quickly earn your way to a new deck for your favorite faction. It’s not super hard to get one or two good decks in a reasonable amount of time, but if you want many such decks across many factions you’re looking at a pretty hefty time or monetary investment. My advice is to pick one or two factions you like, and then try to max out those, as a lot of decks in the same faction share the same legendaries.Version: 5.2.9

Good GameA decent card game that has a unique twist. Unlike Magic or hearthstone each match consists of three rounds and to win a player must win two of the rounds. However, cards in the hand and deck carry over to each round necessitating planning for the next rounds. With a limit on the copies of cards in decks and cards drawn it may even be necessary to lose a round to conserve resources. I recommend this card game to those who have played other card games and want to try something new. However, I would caution new players that the tutorial is somewhat lacking. I would advise that newcomers look up some topics not explained in the tutorial for example card color and rarity are separate traits on cards..Version: 10.7
