✓ Looks great but what’s the point?First, I just want to say the game looks *great*. It’s adorable and the writing is good- it absolutely reflects the tv shows heart and spirit. However, it’s just not....fun? I don’t understand the point of continually clicking to get glasses and whatever- i mean I do, you gather points to move up the “cool list” but couldn’t there be more tasks (other than dodging Bev’s smooches)? ✓ Game says it will run on my device but it does not!Tried installing the game installing it went fine but the moment I opened the app it would load and get to a point of loading that says “Burning engraving” or something similar along those lines and then it immediately crashes the game. ✓ Not what I thought... Great graphicsGreat graphics. And as a fan of "The Goldberg's", I actually read the storyline versus clicking thru. But with Adam Goldberg's love of video games and the 80's, I thought this would be an adventure game with choices, originality. Instead it is only a "click for points" game. Which interestingly, since you quickly reach a level where it takes time to accumulate points, you have to put the game down. Nothing to do but wait. Why wouldn't Adam have created a game you can't put down out of excitement and love of the game??? ✓ Got greedyI preordered this game and have been playing it since it first came out, even paid for a few packs as I enjoyed the game and wanted to support the developers. HOWEVER since the last update the game has changed a lot. The free pack you get every four hours has significantly decreased. The prizes you get for completing tasks have also significantly decreased. They will make a goal to spend 1.1 k tapes. Every four hours you get a free prize, usually 100–200 tapes. Add that on the ridiculous “prize” for completing a task of maybe 5 tapes now and you’ll be at it forever. ✓ Parts I love parts I hateThe animations and the stories are fun, if admittedly basic retelling of existing episodes. My main complaint is how expensive tapes are. You have to wait for packs, which can be free and help, but if you want to get ahead and level a character you often need 550 or more tapes. ✓ TONS of adsI love the show so as soon as the game came out I downloaded and played it. It is fun and has fun storylines but is overrun with ads. Basically you have to either be comfortable paying a ton of money to succeed or be okay with the fact that you will need to spend about 5 minutes minimum watching ads each time you want to play. With the most recent update now on events to double production you have to watch twice as many ads as before. I wondered why there wasn’t an option to buy the game and opt out of ads but they are clearly sold out to the ads and probably making a killing. I have made it a personal point to never download or watch anything they advertise and honestly after this last update I am close to deleting it because it is so frustrating to have to watch so many ads just to try and get the rewards from events. ✓ Started out great but got worseWhen it first started you had a chance to finish the events. You got enough items to upgrade your figures. You also got 4 hours boost for videos. Now once you start progressing in an event you will not get free cards or currency to up grade characters. Past few events i progressed maybe half way through the level before before it ended. I was keeping the double points bonus going but it just would never give me what i needed. Basically it forces you to spend real money just to progress an event. And the dropped bonus to two hours per video. At one point it was one hour. And in events you get constant offers. ✓ A decent game with a few problemsI’m a fan of the Goldbergs TV show, and when I seen this game advertised, I decided to wait a while before getting it. After downloading it, though, I can really see a lot of care went into designing it. The art looks really nice, the stories match the tv show perfectly, and sort of make you feel like you’re playing through each episode. I love the collection of characters you slowly build. This game is a standard clicker game, similar to cookie clicker or venture capitalist. My biggest problem with this game is the scarcity of tapes, the item used to upgrade your characters and locations. It costs several hundred tapes to level up a single character In this game, yet they seem to be very fleeting in gameplay. You can get them in packs (you can receive these by completing missions, a free pack every 4 hours or purchase them with premium currency), by watching an ad (grants you 25 tapes per watch) or you can receive very small amounts for putting a certain number of friends in locations (50-100-200, etc). I understand that the game can’t give us all the tapes at once, as the game would be exceedingly short, but my problem is receiving so little tapes when a single character costs so many to upgrade. While clicker games have objects like tapes and upgrades to make you feel a sense of progression, I feel the opposite in this scenario. I feel like we’re being punished for succeeding. You’ve done well, but don’t have enough tapes to proceed. The distribution of tapes should be more balanced so you don’t feel like it takes several hours of non-stop play to upgrade a single character, when you have so many to upgrade in general. There’s a lot of potential in this game, and, if realised, it could become one of the most well regarded tie-in apps..Version: 1.0.1204

✓ Pay to Win ScamThe core game is fine because you can play whenever you want. But the special, timed events where you unlock new content requires you to pay out the behind to win. These events are plagued by either bots set up by the devs or by hackers. As soon as you start these events, there are already multiple “players” with an insane amount of points, which will result in you having to spend anywhere from $10-20 per event (which last an average of 1-3 days, depending on the event) just to TRY to stay within the range of winning something. ✓ Disappointing re-skinI was very excited for a Goldbergs themed game, maybe my expectations were too high. The story is solid and love the graphics, but the game mechanics are unoriginal and unfulfilling. If you’ve played this devs other games as I have, you will quickly notice that it’s a mash-up of the Trailer Park Boys and Always Sunny games, but with a Goldbergs skin on it. ✓ Fun but....There are constant reminders about new packs in the events, and all the reward packs that you get for completing a goal offer little to no currency, such as five tapes when it cost 250 or more just to level up something? That’s ridiculous, ESPECIALLY in the events where you only have 24 hours to beat an event and the Mother’s Day event doesn’t help with gaining that currency other than spending money.
