SmoothTrack: Head Tracker for Positive User Reviews

I never write reviews but this was so worth it for FS2020Only con was it was quite difficult to install and get setup fortunately I found a good tutorial video telling me step by step what to do. Once it’s set up however the experience is incredible it’s super smooth, super easy to adjust and it makes the simulation 10x better! I honestly have been looking at forking out a lot of money on a tracker ir.... honestly don’t bother just get this, it’s works perfectly and it runs automatically with FS2020..Version: 1.02

Must for flight sims!Hooked this up to MS fight simulator 2020 and DCS and it is amazing! No headgear or IR tags to worry about- just point the phone at your face and it tracks perfectly. I did have to figure out the port thing on both my router and windows firewall, but past that it just works like a breeze..Version: 1.01

Fantastic AppThis is an absolutely fantastic App. Makes the MSFS2020 experience that much better. Great value not only for the price, but the immersion it brings, highly recommended..Version: 1.02

Brilliant.I generally don’t bother leaving reviews for apps but this one definitely deserves it. Worth every penny. For anyone out there who’s struggling to get FaceTrackNOIR working with an old webcam I’m telling you, ditch that and buy this app. Took 5 mins to setup OpenTrack and you’re up and running... I’m now using it in MSFS 2020. No IR trackers, hats, LEDs, etc. just my phone. It’s great and I’m glad I bought it..Version: 1.04

It just works!I was looking for a head tracking solution to try on iRacing and found SmoothTrack. Everything is really straight forward to configure and works perfectly with OpenTrack on my PC. I like being able to quickly disable roll, offset, etc. It is exceptional at maintaining head tracking and even works in rather low lighting. My only real criticism is that the interface could use a bit of polish. With that said, the app does exactly what you need it to do which is more important. :).Version: 1.05

Better than TrackIRDownloaded the app and within 5 minutes was up and running with zero issues. Incredibly accurate head tracking for just the price of the app compared to $250+ for TrackIR, super easy decision. Don’t think twice about this app, it will make your Flight Sim experience 100x better..Version: 1.02

Can’t believe it!I’ve been flying FS since the 1990’s and am a student pilot. I’m about average with computer savvy but I had no trouble getting it up and running. I am truly impressed with the app! It works well and saved me a few bucks because I don’t have to buy additional hardware..Version: 1.02

Works shockingly wellIt takes a bit of pc knowledge, but his instructions are good. My main problem was my firewall, but once I got the pc and app talking, I started Flight Sim and it worked right away perfectly, recognized it as a trackir input. A $5 solution if you have a newer iphone/ipad. Cannot recommend enough. Changes the experience and makes instrument flying so much easier..Version: 1.01

Best cheap optionAfter a little bit of tweaking settings in open track works great for only 10$, no faults.Version: 1.07

Head tracking made accessible. This is what I’ve been waiting for. An app that can utilise one of the high spec cameras we have with mobile devices and for a first gen app is fully functional for its feature set. 5 stars for development without requiring additional hardware. Hope the developer can finesse the app going forward. I use other udp data apps for various sims and it would be great to be able to run this app as picture in picture or in background. Not to take away from what works however. This is a time and money saver. Price is amazing. Dev deserves a beer..Version: 1.02

What a great product. This works really well. Setup and install took less than 15 minutes. It worked well with Elite Dangerous on the default settings and just got better and better once I customised the curves to my liking. Highly recommended..Version: 1.04

Excellent quality, amazingly preciseI’m incredibly impressed with how solid this app is. It requires virtually no configuration (unlike most head trackers and webcam based trackers) and “just works.” Some reviewers are talking about command line prompts but I didn’t encounter any. Opentrack has an installer, so if you don’t want to build it yourself you don’t have to. Everything ran using a GUI..Version: 1.02

Make sure to install the PC client on your C drive.I couldn’t get this to work with Elite Dangerous and it was driving me crazy. I stumbled across an old post online that mentioned having to have Trackir installed on your C drive to work. Moved the Opentrack client, and it worked! Should be mentioned in the instructions. Now it works, it’s great. For £10? A steal..Version: 1.04

Awesome AppThis is just brilliant. Smooth head tracking, easy set-up on FSX, and hopefully on FS2020. Well done developers. Brilliant..Version: 1.03

Great appGreat app but only downside is it being a bit pricey 15AUD.Version: 1.02

Great for truck simsThis ten dollar app is better than expensive peripherals like Tobii or Track IR. Up and running in less than ten minutes, works flawlessly. Saved me 200 bucks since I no longer need extra hardware! Support this dude he deserves it..Version: 1.05

Works Great!Tested with MS Flight Sim. Straightforward setup and tracking functions very well. Great app..Version: 1.02

Amazing appI’m using this for DCS and it is great! The tracking is smooth and it automatically connects to DCS as soon as I open the game. My only grievance is that connecting it to the pc can be a little annoying at times but it is well worth it..Version: 1.05

It just works!Had this running in minutes using MSFS 2020! Never used head tracking before due to clips and wires and stuff tethered to me. This completely changes the experience highly recommended and only £10 absolute bargain! Well done to the developer and hopefully it is continually updated and developed..Version: 1.02

Must have for MSFSThis is incredible and for £10 is a bargain. Having owned a well known IR tracker this works just as well if nit better. Easy to set up and get to grips with..Version: 1.06

Great value, a few suggestions:A USB client for Mac would be super nice and worth an iAP. Being able to use the rear camera for tracking would be great too, as I’d like to MagSafe mount my iPhone to my mac. Alternatively to all of this, a macOS native version would be amazing!.Version: 1.06

Simple and effective use of devices we already haveSetup is a little clunky but I figured it out with the instructions on the website. Booted up MFS2020 and the tracking worked immediately. Minor adjustment to the center point and I was peering all over the plane and surrounding scenery. Would like to have a hot key to suspend tracking for interruptions like taking a drink or stepping away from the desk. Maybe this already exists in Opentrack I haven’t looked yet..Version: 1.02

Wow!Talk about a game changer! This app does exactly what it says it does. I was actually surprised how easy it was to just jump into Squadrons and see that it automatically started working!! Initial set up, however, will probably be a little on the difficult side for those that aren’t used to changing settings beyond their desktop background in Windows 10. It’s not exactly plug and play just yet. Just follow the step-by-step provided by the dev and have fun! If you get hung up just email him! Looking around in your cockpit using head tracking is only 10 bucks away! I’m looking forward to seeing where this developer brings this app in the future!.Version: 1.04

Great purchase!Incredible app and well worth the price!! Works like a dream in Microsoft Flight Simulator, once you get the hang of how it works. It’s actually improving my flying and landing since I’m no longer fumbling with the mouse to look around haha. So so happy with the level of immersion I’m getting from using this app with my flight stick :D.Version: 1.05

Must have worth every penny!Let me start off by saying, "Why didn't I think of that?!" Being a software engineer myself I spent countless hours researching and a few weeks acquiring materials to build my own TrackIR. I was successful but it's bulky, light conditions can mess with it (IR LED) and I made the mount for my headset out of legos... kids needed those back. SmoothTrack is so much better than I expected! The setup is easy and with some minor adjustments to the sensitivity curves in OpenTrack, I was flipping switches in MS2020 with ease! This is exactly what I needed until VR support is added. Well done dev, well done!.Version: 1.02

Better than expectedFantastic. Very little fine tuning (basically just adjusting sensitivity on app screen that’s fairly obviously displayed) required to get the right amount of movement..Version: 1.05

ExcellentGreat value compared to other head tracking gadgets and up and running in 5 minutes! This app has absolutely transformed flight sims for me..Version: 1.03

OMGI’ve been playing Battle of Stalingrad a lot and I kept reading about people using head trackers for flying. I thought sounds great, but spending $300 odd dollars seemed expensive, especially if I don’t like it. $15 Australian dollars, I thought why not at least try it. I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. But wow, it’s so responsive to my head movements when flying. Sure, camera control use works fine, but this makes it a much more natural and immersive experience. Hooked through my iPhone to the computer I found it to be smooth without any lags. It really has opened up my experience flying planes and driving tanks..Version: 1.05

Works greatEasy to install, just find your IP address and set it in the app. Get and install Opentrack and away you fly! Works with Team Fusion, IL2, DCS and MSFS 2020..Version: 1.02

I’m Stunned! This is truly amazing for the money I love it! I used it on American Truck Simulator, X-Plane 11 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 it all worked flawlessly its nice how you can also edit the sensitivity and everything keep up the great work it was definitely worth the money..Version: 1.05

Best 13$ CAD ever spentFirstly, I couldn’t believe that for 13$ you can get a head tracking app this good and stable. I checked some reviews on reddit and YouTube and came to a conclusion that it’s a good app. Pulled the trigger and bought something from Appstore for the first time and I gotta say it’s very impressive. Adds more immersion to games like ATS/ETS2 Also, the developer seems like a nice guy so, in conclusion, I’m happy with this purchase and I’d recommend to others for sure.Version: 1.04

Instant BuyEven for $14 Canadian the only thing you‘ll regret about this app is not buying it sooner. The face-tracking is shockingly good. If you’re a casual who enjoys playing on the couch with a partner, this app will quickly pick up a different face if they’re the ones in view, and track them, no setup required!.Version: 1.02

Fantastic ValueI have never used any sort of tracker before, but boy am I impressed with this app. Fairly easy to setup (especially if you watch the developers YouTube video) and once you get the various settings correct, it’s very good. Someone else commented about the $15 being pricey. Like what?? The TrackerIR 5, of which I was thinking about buying, is around AU$450 or so. Methinks that is pricey! Of course I cannot compare that tracker with this app, but for 15 bucks, it works well for me (just in MSFS 2020 so far). Well worth it!.Version: 1.04

Adds a whole new dimension to flightsim 2020!Bought the app today and immediately tried it out with Flightsim. Super simple to set up with the instructions in the help menu. Immediately added a new dimension to the sim, much more natural to look around and look closer at the controls. Best app I’ve bought this year!.Version: 1.01

As good as TrackIRStumbled upon this from an online sim forum, and it is amazing. It mimics TrackIR without having to use the silly cap or head piece attachment. The various axis all work well. Takes a little bit of setup but once it’s working (2 hours to make it exactly how I wanted), it’s smooth as hell playing F1. Advice to dev would be offer a week free trial. For me, £10 vs £200 TrackIR was a no brainer but for many, they won’t want such a high upfront cost without fully knowing if it works..Version: 1.04

Good appHave had it for maybe a year now and it is worth every penny, better than the “free” ones.Version: 1.05

As easy and as awesome as everyone says!Honestly for $10 you can’t go wrong here. I’ve always wanted to try VR and this is an excellent intro and was so freakin easy to use. Downloaded the app on my iPhone and the app on the computer and within literal minutes I was playing Star Wars Squadrons on my PC with head tracking..Version: 1.04

Simple and effectiveThis app works great. Super easy to use. A cheap way to get head tracking. Took me a bit to get OpenTrack right. But now I wouldn’t go back. Thanks for making a great app..Version: 1.05

Great application for simmersGreat application for flight simmers. Very good alternative for the insanely expensive TrackIR. It works great. Very good head tracking. Easy to setup..Version: 1.05

Works wonderfully, responsive developerThis is (IMO) a perfect natural replacement for previous IR solutions. The initial version I got worked as intended in less than 10 minutes. Directions are clear and setup isn’t too hard. I used it with msfs2020 and it was very helpful for looking around on approaches. I found it most useful when combined with mouse look movements. The developer is clearly interested in feedback and is very responsive. This app will likely have some good improvements soon because of this..Version: 1.02

Simple, works very wellI was able to get this working with MS Flight Sim [2020] within minutes, in partnership with an open source tool. It’s a really cool app that does exactly what it says on the tin and nothing more. Moreover it does it well. Thanks a lot, well worth a few bucks and certainly saved me from thinking about more expensive hardware!.Version: 1.01

Amazing for $10Works exceptionally well considering it’s 1/15th the price of tracIR, which is half the price of just getting a VR headset. This app works well and although it seems to bug out every once in a while and not respond to open track, the price point is hard to beat. Using it for dcs works wonders, I just downloaded the devs preset profile and it worked “out of the box”. Highly recommend, especially once it becomes slightly more stable..Version: 1.04

The sky’s the limitFor flight sim enthusiasts, head tracking is a huge bonus, but getting accurate feedback in to OpenTrack has always been difficult! Struggle no more! This app is simple to use and easy to set up. It just works. Okay, the interface is a little clunky, landscape mode is unorganised and the setup is a little manual - but none of that matters and I’m sure will get addressed in future versions. Awesome job!.Version: 1.01

Works great!I’m using this in USB mode with DCS and the A10C module. It works incredibly well. Follow the instructions on the support website to a T and it will work. I was previously using AI track and a PS2 eye, which worked ok - this is better, much better. Well worth the price. I’m so glad I tried this before shelling out the money for trackir..Version: 1.05

Love itI have no regrets paying $13 CDN for this. Set up in a jiffy and works as good as my TrackIR (maybe better, TBH). Great work by the developer..Version: 1.02

I was skeptical but this is very surprisingAs someone who is seriously considering an oculus for mfs2020 and any other VR games but this is great until then the app works amazing very real and sensitive It’s a tat confusing to set up if your not great with computers but it it was easy enough for me Once it’s active it automatically hooks up to the game you have running if the game supports it so open the program on the pc open the app then run the game and it work 10 bucks is the most I’ve ever paid for an app but it works great so I guess it’s worth it.Version: 1.04

FantasticThis does everything you need and it is seriously so simple to setup. A little bit of networking knowledge is all that is required, it took under five minutes to get it going. The instructions in the description are spot on and don’t leave any room for mistake! It is a tad bit nervy to have your phone camera on at first with an app, but that feeling fades! Doesn’t take much configuration and it can be placed anywhere in front of you without fail so far. Awesome app, really really impressive..Version: 1.04

OutstandingAfter several awful head tracking tools, this was a breath of fresh air, smooth is right!.Version: 1.02

Works so much better than I thought it wouldBeen using it for a few months now with MS Flight Sim 2020 and it’s great. Really precise and when used via the USB connection, super responsive..Version: 1.05

Wow!I have wanted a head tracking/VR setup for flying games for some time, but have been off put by the price. This solution is perfect. The hardware on iPhone 11/x/xs/etc is spot on for this application. This isn’t “it kinda works but you may still want to drop $175 on track IR.” This is “it works perfectly, easily, and cheaply.” Millimeter precision. The initial setup does require a slight bit of willingness to play with command line prompts, but the instructions in the app make it as clear as clear can be, and once you are up and running, this is a complete game changer to your experience with any flying game/sim..Version: 1.01

AwesomeLet me start by saying I haven’t used any other type of head tracking software and I don’t know why I would now. Really helps with the immersion factor of MSFS and not the awkward hat switch that doesn’t look where you want. To be able to look out the windows of you plane just by turning your head is amazing. I had been looking into IR and even VR but I couldn’t see those setups working for me. I had a little difficulty initially getting it set up but Dev was very responsive via email. Following how this program took off, I didn’t expect a rapid response. Great job and thank you for improving my simming experience..Version: 1.02

Very goodHad this up and running really quickly but need to mount my camera in what would be it’s permanent position when using the app as the settings need to be fine tuned. A good point is that you can run the app without the camera display so it keeps the phone cool. I do have an issue though that I have been unable to find the answer to. The support site is limited with no way to contact the app developer!! How do you refresh the flight sim back to normal use if you wish to exit the tracker during a flight. I have tried a multitude of different things and non work. Having closed the open tracker and the app I try to reset the views within the sun but it doesn’t work. I hope it doesn’t require a total restart of the sim as that is a lengthy process when you have lots of add ons. Also for the price what does this app do differently than the others it seems similar. ? I purchased based on reviews I had read which were very favourable and yes it is good and just works but I would be interested in the cost justification. As a sub note to my issue I have now found that a complete restart resets the cameras and sim which is not a particularly good resolution. I would be grateful for some feedback from the developer thanks.Version: 1.04

Surprisingly works really well. For someone who owns an iPhone but doesn’t have the true depth camera feature or whatever. I have an iphone se 2020 and this app worked great! There’s low latency and the camera tracks my face perfectly. Really impressed with the work done on this app.Version: 1.02

Mad.This app is awesome. Easy to set up and works so good. Very user friendly. Get an awesome upgrade to immersion for a small price. A definite must for DCS, MFS2020!.Version: 1.04

Great appWould be good to be able to hide the camera (selfie) view or make the entire screen black while in use!.Version: 1.01

If VR isn’t an option, this is a close second place! As anyone who’s played a flight sim knows, the worst part is having to control the camera with one hand while having to control everything else with your other. Even then, the viewing controls always feel clunky and tend to take you out of the simulation experience. Normally this can be remedied with a VR headset, which we all know can be expensive and feel clunky. But with this app, you get most of the benefits of VR without breaking the bank or having to wear heavy hardware. Setup was easier than I expected, though there are some parts that are probably more complicated than a novice tech user can handle without more specific, step by step instructions (eg, port forwarding is required). And finally, of course, flying with this app is an absolute dream. Again, if you don’t have VR, this one is pretty darn close at capturing the experience..Version: 1.01

Great Budget HeadtrackerThis app is a great headtracker if you’re on a budget, but there are some things that aren’t perfect. One of them being that it eats through a phone battery real quick, i recommend using it on low power mode. The other being it loses track of your head if you turn horizontal to it, but i can’t ask for too much from a phone camera. Overall a great option if you need a fast and cheap headtracker..Version: 1.05

AmazingI never though i would get head tracking for x plane 11 since it is expensive and not worth it. This app is so much cheaper than any head track and works extremely well. It is easy to set up (much easier than untangling wires and plugging them in) you don't have to wear an uncomfortable hat. Support is really good and john is fast to respond and very helpful..Version: 1.02

Works, but poor UII’ve used the app daily for a month or more, and it works fine. The UI has got worse in the latest update. In landscape orientation some controls are poorly placed. The UI has also been complicated with some unnecessary controls and information. I’ll be happy to help the developer with the UI!.Version: 1.04

Awesome! Thanks so much for developing this! Not everyone has $200 to shell out for TrackIR, and I’m so glad to have heard about your app. It works wonderfully, took 5 minutes to set up, and has already made my Flight Sim experience so much more immersive!.Version: 1.02

Just Amazing!Absolutely brilliant!! Works really well, and took no time to get working even with downloading something else on the pc and setting up. Hardest part was figuring out how to mount the phone powered in a playing position..Version: 1.02

ExcellentWish I’d have seen this before I spent £100 on an LED track clip and webcam. Pros: total freedom from wires and hardware. Tracks smoothly and well. App rotates in iOS and works well in landscape as well as portrait on iPhone (useful for low monitors). Works great on DCS World. Can cope with headphones and spectacles. Simple interface. Cons: not really found any yet, will post back if I do. Overall, very useful and worth the money..Version: 1.04

Amazing App!Never write reviews but wow! What an app, easy to use and works brilliantly! Would highly recommend especially for the price!.Version: 1.04

BrilliantFor £5 I wasn’t expecting much but to my surprise it’s works brilliantly and would highly recommend. Makes Sim gaming so much more fun and immersive. Had to set up port forwarding on my router to get it to work but wasn’t difficult and you can see how it’s done by searching on google. Very happy..Version: 1.02

Absolutely BrilliantI was gutted I couldn’t get hold of Track IR until I found this app. Now I’m not really bothered about Track IR, as I have super smooth, responsive, wireless head tracking over USB on my iPhone. And all this for a tenner! You can’t go wrong. Thanks for this Mr Programmer, you’ve made me very happy..Version: 1.06

A great app that works very well.Bought the app a little hesitant at the price but I gave it a go and I’m really pleased with it. I’ve used it for around 2-3 months and haven’t had any issues. I’ve actually not touched my VR headset once for Elite Dangerous since I’ve had the app. There is a slight delay over WiFi but I imagine the USB mode will help with that. I do wish you would offer a trial/demo app that works for day 5 mins, I know I could convince some more people to give it a go..Version: 1.05

This is legitI don’t write reviews often, but this app warrants a glowing review and recommendation. With a few steps I went from trying to use my mouse to look around in MSFS 2020 to gleefully looking around using nothing more than my phone to capture my movements. So many people who couldn’t afford or justify $150 for TrackIR hardware can drop $9.99 and have full functionality. Sorry, TrackIR. Your time is so over. Thank you to the developer for seeing the need and meeting it for so many who were left out of the joys of head tracking..Version: 1.04

Just perfectI have a VR headset, but we’re still a long way off it being convenient for long duration flights regarding comfort etc. If you want the ability to look around the cockpit during taxi, or have visibility when turning onto final in VFR flights by leaning out the window, this is the app! Super easy to set up and the dev is really engaged on his Discord. This is waaay more cost effective than trackir / Tobii. If you flight sim, you need this app..Version: 1.06

Properly Impressive!I’m still dialing it in a little with XPlane but the improvements within a few minutes indicate that’ll be no problem. Using my X Plane settings in MS Flight Sim and it was good to go. It’s simply astonishing what this app was doing. $10 for something that would end up being $80-$800 for other alternatives. Truly remarkable. Nice job folks!.Version: 1.05

Works flawlesslyThank you for the latest update which includes a screen dimmer to save battery life. If you’re on the fence and can’t decide, let me tell you this app works flawlessly. Forget spending hundreds of dollars on TrackIR and similar products. Best $10 I’ve ever spent..Version: 1.04

Great aid for immersionAfter the simple set-up process I was blown away by this app’s functionality. Exactly as described on the box and makes sim flying much more intuitive by reducing the need to mash the keyboard to look inside & outside the cockpit. Brilliant..Version: 1.03

Must have addition to flight simulatorsIf you use a flight simulator like Microsoft Flight sim or DCS this is a must have app. This is so much better then IR head gear and the other options I have seen. It works flawlessly follow the simple instructions for setup and your good to go. One thing that’s helpful to know is in Opentrack make sure to update the port number under input tools. Also in Opentrack under options you can adjust the output center position and this helped me get my straight ahead view perfect..Version: 1.01

Really goodI’ve never used trackIR before or any of the webcam clones so I cant say much in terms of comparison, but it really does work well. I use it solely for MSFS and it is so nice being able to change my view with both hands being used to control the plane. In terms of steadiness i’ve found that even with aggressive sensitivity I can still keep the view steady to read a gauge or flip a switch. Playing with any knobs in game is a pain, but part of that could just be due to turbulence. I’ve noticed it works very well in low-light environments too. I have flown while it is dark in my room besides some Christmas lights above me and saw no appreciable decline in tracking performance..Version: 1.03

Fantastic!I hardly ever review apps - especially ones I have to pay for! But I have to say this is excellent! Well worth the cash and exceeding my expectations in the process!.Version: 1.04

Do Yourself A FavorThis app is truly one of the most immersive - yet simplest to set up and operate - ever. Truly ahead of it’s time. I’m not sure I’ve ever received more value from ANY app - gaming or otherwise than this one. It’s not too good to be true - it just works - really, really well..Version: 1.05

So good! Can’t believe how easy it is to set this up. It’s so much simpler and responsive than the head tracking device I used before (delanclip) and is a fraction of the price. Using it on IL2 GB and works a dream. Hats off to the dev.Version: 1.04

The real deal!I *never* leave reviews but this is the real deal. It is awesome and works so well with MSFT flight sim 2020. Just follow the install instructions on his website and it then works seamlessly with flight sim without even needing any configuration. I rarely find stuff that works as well as this. And only $10! Wow.Version: 1.04

Terrific ValueI tried TrackIR at$169 and didn't think it was worth it. I also tried AITrack which is free and I wasn't impressed by the tracking. This app is perfect and a bargain at $10. I use it in MS FS2020 and it works smoothly and consistently. I highly recommend this to anyone who, like me, doesn't want to do VR. I was so impressed that I offered the vendor more money and he refused it!.Version: 1.05

Completely changes the experience of MS Flight Sim 2020This app, in partnership with some open source software, completely changes the experience of flying in the recently released Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Perfect niche app. The only drawback is that installation for this purpose isn’t completely explained by the help within the app. But a few searches later I was set and flying a plane like you are supposed to - with a real neck. Well done..Version: 1.02

Great head tracking solution at unbeatable priceWorks very well with War Thunder, will try out with Star Citizen next. App is easy to use, instructions for set up are simple. Tip: make sure you have a stable spot to place your phone that has a good head on view of your face. Also ensure there is enough lighting in the room to ensure your phone’s sensors don’t lose track of you.Version: 1.04

Much better than FreeTrackNoIR!First it’s much, much more stable than FreeTrackNoIR. I tried to tune the latter so many times but eventually had to uninstall it because it’s so shaky, unpredictable, and made flight a pain. I thought I would never use Face Tracking again, until I heard about this app. It’s so stable that I don’t feel the need to adjust anything, and I don’t have to stop tracking anymore when adjusting cockpit knobs or setting COM frequencies! Second, it works with even dim lighting conditions. This is convenient when I want to play flight sim without lighting up the whole room or facing a strong but eye hurting light source. Third, you can save money for a good web camera, because even old iPhone SE’s front cam works perfectly. Those cheap “HD” webcams are no match of iPhone camera for Face Tracking. Some people might be intimidated by the seemingly complex setup guide. However my own experience showed that it’s very easy and intuitive when your PC and iPhone/iPad are on the same Wifi (why not?). The only trick is to find your PC’s internal IP and type it in this app. I believe many people already did similar things for other apps like those for streaming or Remote Desktop. In all, this app provided me the decent immersion solution without expensive TrackIR. I think it’s much better than FreeTrackNoIR, and hope more people give it a try no matter how bad their prior Face Tracking experience with other solutions might be!.Version: 1.04

It works!I’d never used head tracking in games before. I came across this app and decided to give it a try. Setup was super-easy and it just worked (I’m using it in X4 Foundations). It required a little bit of configuring to get the axis performing how I wanted in game, but once that was done it’s been great. I’m really impressed!.Version: 1.05

Makes Flight Sim 2020 even better!Installation can be a little finicky (great technical support though!) but once you get it working it’s incredible. I was having trouble in Flight Sim with seeing all of my cockpit controls, now I just look down :) Looking out the window without needing to grab my mouse makes the sim 1000% better..Version: 1.01

SmoothTrackI strongly recommend this app. No need for camera and strange looking cap, which in my case did not work very well. SmoothTrack worked straight away, and a minor problem, which in fact I should have worked out, John sorted out quickly. All the best, John.Version: 1.04

John the Developer is AWESOMESo I swear every time I try something like this it never works correctly. I watched John’s video and it was super easy. I had a minor issue, emailed John and presto he knew right away what the issue was. Wow this makes MSFS 2020 a whole new beast. The app works great tracks my movements perfectly. It’s almost like magic how easy it is to use. The developer seems super passionate about this project and was super nice on his email to me. John your going places my friend keep your passion it’s truly nice to see. It’s makes a difference to your community and is very inspiring. Thanks again John!!! Have a blessed one sir..Version: 1.04

First class bargainThis app does exactly what it says it does. I am using it with FSX and it is brilliant, it really does provide the immersive experience that we are all looking for. This makes Track IR redundant I’m sorry to say. Check out the YouTube video, it makes setup a doddle. Well done John Goering.Version: 1.02

Easiest 5 Stars I’ve Given1 hour in Elite Dangerous with SmoothTrack head tracking and I’m already going to give this 5 stars. I was unsure at first when walking around in a station but as soon as I got out into a resource extraction zone and could more easily see asteroids and keep track of combat targets it felt completely natural. Even before head tracking I was already moving my head instinctually in the direction of what I wanted to see better, this just gives you the in-game feedback that your brain expects. It’s so natural feeling. Setup was dead simple if you’ve ever used a computer before and the app does exactly what it claims to. Could not be happier..Version: 1.05

Works great!I knew about this app for a while before getting it but I was pretty skeptical at first. But I finally decided to try it out and I'm very happy with the results. I used to run AITrack and OpenTrack in DCS, Elite Dangerous, and War thunder, but that felt glitchy and spastic at times. Plus if I looked over my shoulder in a game and looked forward again, I felt like I was fighting AITrack to look where I wanted. But with this app paired with OpenTrack, I didn't feel like I was fighting the tracker at all. It was very smooth and fun to use and contrary to some of those critical reviews here, it's not that hard to set up. 10/10 would definitely recommend.Version: 1.05

Works for IL2I was skeptical at first, but I must say it works well. After tinkering with the settings a bit I found it works well. It helps tremendously when turning in a dogfight while attempting to keep eyes on your adversary. It also helps when trying to line up on a ground target or an airfield. Finally, you can’t beat the price!.Version: 1.02

AwesomeI am using this with OpenTrack and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. The instructions were simple and everything worked straight away. Using this app is way better than fiddling around with TrackIR or other methods where you tape arrays of IR LEDs to your headset..Version: 1.05

TrackIR at a fraction of the costThis app (along with OpenTrack on PC) replaces TrackIR. Setup was extremely simple, and the developer is very responsive to email. I can’t compare directly to TrackOR since I’ve never used it, but the head tracking works extremely well, and has improved my Flight Sim experience a lot..Version: 1.02

Works Great For Microsoft Flight SimThis is the first experience I have had with using head tracking of any kind, but it works fantastic. Right out of the box the range of movement that is detected is actually very impressive. Looking around feels great and there's no perceivable input latency. Without messing with any in app settings I can lean close, look down, and access all of my aircraft's systems. This is huge. No longer do I have to take 15mins to keybind stuff for every aircraft that I fly. It is liberating, allows for more flying, less keybinding, and has seriously improved my skill in sim flying. The setup wasn't too bad either, my only advice would be to make sure you can port forward with your networking setup (this is a must unless you're going to use the desktop app standalone with a webcam). It is astounding that it works with Microsoft Flight Sim with zero setup in the sim itself. I cannot speak enough praise for this app..Version: 1.03

Does exactly what it says!I don’t write reviews but I’m breaking my rule for this app. I was very sceptical I have to say but it really does everything you think it can’t. Set up was straightforward following the developers YouTube guide and after adjusting the sensitivity mappings to my liking I can honestly say after 3 days and around 15 hours of flying in MSFS 2020 I won’t fly without it, it’s a genuine game changer. I’ve also had a bit of a play in DCS, F1 2020 and Dirt Rally 2 and it works great in those too. I’m amazed that this app can deliver the same experience as something like Track IR for such a low cost, awesome work from the creator of it. One thing, I noticed for me the tracking accuracy was better with my phone above me so I 3D printed a couple of brackets to put my phone on the top of my monitor for the best tracking. I had no complaints with the performance of the app with the phone on my desk but if you can get your phone level or above you it might be just that little bit more awesome :).Version: 1.04

Instructional video would be goodAn instructional you tube video for those who are not computer savvy may be a good idea. Unable to set up and get it working despite others saying it's a piece of cake. Frustrating as it looks the business. Video now done and set up complete. 5 stars all round..Version: 1.02

$15 for a head track!!!!!Easy and affordable.Version: 1.02

Amazing!I was able to set this up to work with MSFS 2020 in less than 2 minutes and it works perfectly and consistently. This truly changes the game and is such good calls for money I would 100% recommend it..Version: 1.02

Works great!I am really enjoying this app. To me it works much better than the webcam head tracker program I’ve used and is on par with TrackIR - the latter I haven’t used in ages because I lost the stupid clip thingy. Smooth Track has brought even more enjoyment to the new Microsoft Flight Simulator, making it feel like a true VFR experience. Once I figured out what I was doing with the command prompt, the installation was quite easy and John the developer was very quick to respond to any questions I had. I would recommend a video or graphical tutorial so John could free up some of his time! Thanks so much for making this app. It’s a great and affordable way to get even more out of MSFS..Version: 1.02

This app is a game changerIf you’re looking for a head tracking solution for your gaming..stop. You’ve found it. This product delivers the immersion that gamers require without having to invest $$ into tech like TrackIR. It delivers the same experience across the same suite of games. All it requires is a modicum of technical knowledge and the ability to follow simple directions. Do not hesitate to purchase this app. It’s going to put an entire product line on its ear..Version: 1.01

Very ImpressedI bought this gem today and I am very impressed. I have TrackIR but I am constantly struggling with it. I installed it on to my old iPhone SE. Setup was fairly easy, just like the tutorial except if you have a anti-virus program you will want to use their firewall setting procedure or temporarily turn it off to set up per the tutorial. Either way it was pretty simple. I flew the Hornet and Huey in DCS for about an hour and not a single problem. I am looking forward to your upgrade that allows a USB connection mentioned by someone else as I do travel a lot and would have no access to do port settings. I rate it five stars because their isn't six..Version: 1.04

Exactly what I neededI’d recently started playing IL-2 and had a fairly crude head tracking set up using AI software on my PC alongside a webcam app to allow my old mobile. It worked nicely at first but once I was over the novelty, the very slight delay in head movements became too much. This solved the problem really quickly and really easily. I can keep track now without a problem or delay. The best bit though is it’s so easy to set up. Clear instructions provided on the website and it works first time, every time. Brilliant app!!.Version: 1.04
