✓ 3/5 for being mehFirst of all, it’s not a tower defense game like the ad that convinced me to download it. Like the first 5 stages were tower defense and then I never played it again. Secondly, gameplay is identical to games like similar game of its genre, (AFK Arena, Raid, etc) but less impressive graphics. Third, it has Tiered heroes. That mean, everyone is gunning for the rarer characters because they are the only characters who can reach the highest level; and those who have the money will reach it first. If you ask what’s my favorite kind of game like this is will still have to be Arena Wars because even the many common monster can become rank 5 and still find its usefulness if paired correctly, while having a team full of the rarer monster will still not guarantee success. Nothing bad, or nothing good for this game review because it’s just like any other online only auto battle game..Version: 1.8.9
✓ No free will. Super long wack-a-mole tutorial.I’m a big fan of TD games, but the tutorial on this one is crazy. Might as well be a movie, I’m on stage 2-2 and have had absolutely no free will. It’s click here - click there. There’s only very specific pads that you can place heros and it’s always exactly the number of heros available (no towers at all) you can’t strategize, you can’t duplicate towers. You might as well just watch a let’s play on twitch, as you have the same free will as the actual gameplay. The only reason this didn’t get a 1* is the graphics are pretty nice. Oh and they do have rpg style turn based battles as well but I’ve only been able to watch so far, can’t pick skills or targets, not sure if your eventually able to I got board of playing wack-a-mole on tutorial click here buttons. Not constantly be waiting and waiting for a reset before there is anything else to do. There are very few instructions, most of the events are purely designed to grab cash and the support function is slow if you have a problem. ✓ Most idiotic updateThat new thing you guys call realm of whatever is ridiculous. Most of the people playing this game did not want to play games where they had to build a city army. If i really wanted to play that kind of game, i would keep playing SOS or something. I spend so much money on this game and i enjoyed it because it was about building a team. I liked that i decided what time i need to login and all that stuff. Now with this new update I must keep up with buildings, soldiers, academy, defending a city, gathering food wood and all that nonsense. ✓ It’s okGame is refreshing if you played afk arena. But they’re already making the mistake idle hero’s made and that’s a new event every week that requires money to get the rewards. Plus there’s not much to do, no way to really tell what works well together because the pull rates are worse than both afk and idle hero’s combined; especially when you need so many of the same hero to upgrade. Overall though the game is a good time waster but f2p players aren’t very welcomed. Good luck.Version: 1.7.6
✓ Absolutely buggy money pit with terrible supportAfter spending a sizable sum of money and encountering multiple bugs that cause loss of purchased product. Every time i reached out to support they provided 0 resolution and just told me to hang on. I eventually stopped reaching out to support and deleted the game. Fun for a little bit but overall a terrible experience. If you’re going to do nothing to rectify the issues for players and especially the ones spending money consistently, please delete yourselves. Also for anyone thinking of purchasing any of the timed packs (purchase once and get 6x more) they run out early. Do yourself a favor and do not download this game..Version: 1.8.9

✓ You need to keep spend moneyFor the starting, it says the tower defense game so I started to play, and then becomes something else like a siege game, and you need to keep purchasing to stay playing or you can’t even normally finish everyday rewards, costumer service awful, one time i do the purchase with extra rewards and they never give to me, complain and they said nothing they can do and end of the conversation, I purchase a lot and that’s why I still playing, waiting some other games came out and I quit this game right the way, if you never play, don’t wast your time and money..Version: 2.2.1

✓ New Upgrade killed gameplayThere once was a time before an upgrade that I could log onto Ace Defender and play and have a merry time. It was a good way to kill some time. Graphics good, building of characters good, ease of play could have used some work. However, a dark cloud of an upgrade came and took all of that away. I can’t even log onto the game. The message of “unstable network” is now in the place of me trying to defeat my enemies and help my allies. Would have give it a 5 star before the upgrade..Version: 1.8.7

✓ Ok game when it works.The game isn’t bad at all but since last 2 updates the game continues to “lag out”. Not sure how to describe it. It doesn’t freeze but when you click something it just doesn’t load. But you can then click back out and click another part within the game. So not freezing. ✓ Why?Day 1 it took 9 hours of playtime before I completely ran out of things to do. Day 2 it took less than 3 hours , and Day 3 an hour and a half. On day 4 it took 30 minutes to hit hero level 80 and profile level 34... now im bored with nothing to except spend money... from my standpoint when i hit this kind of paywall i lose intrest very quickly... i dont want a game that i can only play 15-30 minutes a day... i need more. I feel that games like this are either underdeveloped or not properly balanced , or possibly a pay wall like this is put in place on purpose to force people to pay to keep playing. I personally hate any game that allows other players to steal my hard earned points and this game has that world trial where I battle a boss monster and then players can steal my points, repeatedly. Most of the interactive panels are awkward, you have to click on the [x] to close a pop up, it’s annoying considering how many panels a player has to go through in one daily run. Can we just get a “claim all” instead of going through 5-8 panels to claim one, close it, claim another, close that, etc etc. it’s so tedious… The battle engine is also mediocre, it’s very laggy. I bought it (you can only buy 1 development pack), & when I went into the game from the payment screen, it said purchase invalid & the dev pack was still available to buy (since you can only buy 1 & it was still there) I was like it didn’t go through. Thus, I attempted to buy it again & received it, but they charged my account 2 times for 1 thing. Apple refunded 1/2 charges, but as soon as I received the email refund approved. The game blacklisted me, stated I was stealing, & took back what I paid for. Then, after I message them, explained what occurred & provide screen shots to prove this, they still won’t give back what I bought, nor remove the blacklist status, but stated if I pay another $20 I could get my account un-black listed. Even though the error was on the games side, & I could provide proof of the error, no real assistance. ✓ Can’t get passed 1-2 (update)Downloaded the game yesterday because it looked interesting. First, servers are under maintenance, that’s fine. I start playing today and got to 1-2, and as the title says, I can’t move on. The enemies don’t spawn and it’s just a never ending level. ✓ I will start with issues then flaws.Biggest issue is the game is centered around pay to win, Even the surveys aren’t meant for player who don’t pay money. You can play free to play but you will always be bottom of the barrel. Flaws in the game is the Tower defense, It is a cheaply made tower defense and is only in the game because it was used in the advertisement but it is just purely annoying and repetitive and having to do it every 5 stages in the expedition mode kinda makes it feel like a cheap game. It makes it more apparent that the people who made this game didn’t really care about the game and just wanted money. ✓ It’s okay.TL;DR: its P2W like any other idle game, but you can still enjoy it if you set your expectations accordingly. I stumbled upon this game and its really not bad. The game is fun at the beginning when you have to learn a lot, but you soon realize they don’t have an official website where you can look up information. Information about the game is scattered in bits and pieces throughout their discord. Their servers are all mixed with different regions and have a horrible chat translation feature. It’s hard to communicate with your team and everything is censored for no reason. The developers don’t bother hiding their biases towards certain factions. There as a serious lack of balance. The game significantly favors those who pay (pay to win) and there’s always a number of glitches in the game. End game becomes all about the whales and isn’t very enjoyable for someone who wants to play for free or casually spend. The top players spend over $1k. ✓ Do not spend any money on this game.I have been a top player in the game for a while now and I’ve quit out of frustration with the development team. There is literally 0 communication with their player base. All of their ads online are fake and don’t represent the gameplay whatsoever. Every update the devs break the game and it results in either: A. You not being able to login for a few days B. Major bugs that affect your everyday gameplay to the point where it changes aspects of the game completely. They never do any testing prior to their updates. We’ve had in-game bugs for over 3 weeks that haven’t been addressed or even acknowledged publicly. They won’t even provide an event schedule so that players can plan to use their resources effectively. Additionally, they merge dead servers last minute during events without giving any players notice to try and juice the player base and get them to spend more for a top spot. The level of greed and lack of intent these developers have Is disgusting. I’ve played many gacha/idle games over the years and this is by far the worst I’ve ever played. ✓ Terrible game developersSo I started playing this game about 5 days ago , around the 2nd day they had an update which seemed fine for a little but as soon as I logged off and tried to get back on a little later I couldn’t. The game developers had the absolute max amount of rudeness when it came to the problem that’s obviously on the developers side of things, they blame the user, they said pay attention and yet everyone did , the game sends you to update when you get on and to be extremely sure I went to the App Store many times to see if this magic update was in and after about 3 days of not being able to get in they fix it . This gets even worse because when you usually start a game like this events are usually there to help players get a little head start , but that was not the case for me as the timer for these events was not paused , no instead I’m almost out of time and some are expired, but you know what they compensate you with as a token of the mess up on the developers end , 100 gems which is easy to obtain on your own . When I realized it was not what it appeared to be (less than 1/3rd of what it appeared to be) I requested a refund. I expected them to take the little that was received back from the pack. However instead they just forbid the account from participating in almost every phase of the game unless I repurchased the pack. This was my first purchase in the game. I picked a specific purchase that looked like it contained rewards built up from levels you had beaten in the game and received less than a third of what was listed. Buyer beware. The only way to do the defense part for which you try at the very beginning is locked behind a wall that you have to earn a token to get in and run. This week they combined the events with servers that are 6 months + older than mine and several others. This makes it impossible For younger servers to even come close to progressing. You can only communicate with a few servers in “world chat” and now that they have changed who we can compete against it is impossible to compete in any fashion. When asking “vip” customer service, you get no response. It feels like a greed till they die move hoping people will increase spending to catch up to players with a 6 month head start. ✓ Utterly unplayable due to unstable game serverBEWARE! I really want to rate this better but I can’t because it’s gotten completely unplayable. When I first got the game, it worked pretty well. Occasionally would freeze and say network unstable after being in the background for a bit. Then it was EVERY TIME the game was opened. And now, mid gameplay, it freezes every 90 seconds or so. TWO updates to supposedly “fix” this issue “that occurs for SOME players”. It’s only gotten much worse! The worst part is it gives it’s spinning dragon of doom for 20-30 seconds each time unless you force close. So literally the cycle is now: play 90 seconds, freeze and wait for it to reconnect to the server for 30 then hit tap to reconnect. Then another 90 seconds of play then freeze, rinse and repeat. I just “played” for 12 minutes taking screenshots every time it froze. Ended up with EIGHT instances of 20-30 seconds of freezing for 12 minutes in app. Resetting only ends the freeze a bit quicker, still have to RELOAD the app then it happens again. Literally 1/3rd of the time, this app simply doesn’t work. BEWARE!.Version: 1.8.9

✓ My initial review they bribed me 1100 gems forWell love the mix of so many games in one ! Auto offline , tower defense & turned based RPG ! Then there’s the artwork for units are stunning !!!!! BUT …..no story no real feeling for a reason to be leveling the heroes for any reason other than to throw them at the bad guys ……The pull rate is the regular gatcha craptastic …..there’s a lot of paid stuff so don’t plan on getting to far fast unless you spend, but if you enjoy a slow crawl and pretty artwork it’s not a bad time filler.Version: 1.6.7
✓ Locked out after refundI started this game about 6 weeks ago and was having fun. Decent game, minimal issues, similar to many idle games w/ their own twist. I made a purchase of $3.99 which I thought was a monthly purchase to receive rewards each day for 30 days, but it turned out to be a one-time purchase so I requested a refund. I then got 5 or 6 pre-form, in-game mail messages about how I was cheating the game and would be locked out of pvp content and other rewards for requesting a refund. At this point I opted not to make another purchase and see if this lock out would eventually go away, but it has been 3 weeks and I am still locked out from even participating in daily, basic pvp. Really glad I didn’t end up putting any more money into this game as it is a terrible policy to lock folks out. I’ve seen games that will take away the purchase you made or make you make up the difference by subtracting gems or items from your account, which I would have been fine with. But to lock out content is idiotic. Uninstalling the game today as there are plenty of other games on the market to scratch the idle-itch that don’t cut you off from content because you refund a purchase from them, and then try to force you to make the purchase again to access the full game..Version: 2.0.2
✓ Boring game, limited gameplay Pay2 win and waste of timeThis game is so bad for an idle game. You can spend $1000 on this game and still feels like you are just throwing money into the void. You need 15+ copies of heroes just to upgrade them and the percent of getting the one you want is less than 0.05% for getting the one you want. It means you odds of winning the lottery in real life is ten times more than playing this game and getting one of the heroes to max rarity. Don’t even try this game.
