Ahead: Emotions Coach for Negative User Reviews

DisappointedI’m a new mom and was looking forward to mess around with this little app to maybe help my frustration and stress, and now I’m just more frustrated and stressed. Open the app and immediately am annoyed that it’s not actually free, but whatever, it makes sense. It tells you that they will NOTIFY you when your free trial is up, so I took the offer. The app is nothing to write home about. Immediately forgot about it because you are only allowed to use the app for 5 minutes a day before you are essentially locked out from doing anything. So how fun do you think it was to wake up to a notification not from this app, but to my bank telling me I’ve purchased AN ENTIRE YEAR for this app 🤪 Why their subscription default is for an entire year is beyond me, and SO sketchy. Really wish I could’ve bought stuff for my baby. But now I’m stuck without $60 for an app that gives me information I could’ve gotten for free on google <3 it’s definitely on me for not remembering to cancel it, but VERY annoyed that I didn’t get the reminder that I was told I would get. Smh.Version: 1.43.1

Could be so goodThe bones of this app are really good, but two important elements let it down. One is signposting and labelling. You are encouraged to store techniques but it’s difficult to find them again when you need them and not intuitive to add to them. There is no sense of organisation or any route or plan: it all feels very random. I can’t get any sense of the topography of the app. The other is the quality of the English. I suspect much of this app has been translated into English (even though the sources the content is drawn from is in English). Therefore oddities such as ‘you recall to be true to your ideals” pop up not once but many times. Instructions are not clear, and moving through the app feels somehow more unsettling than reassuring..Version: 1.44.1

Not free! The ads suggest that it’s free, but when you finish filling in your profile and answering your questionnaire, it demands that you pay. You spend all this time creating your personalised “journey” then you can’t even access the first class without paying. I wish apps like this would make clear from the start that they cannot be used at all without paying. I have no objection to apps that charge but BE UPFRONT ABOUT IT. Hiding the fact that it’s a pay app untll you’ve done all the set up just feels really scammy. Especially the fact they fraudulently put it in the Free category when it is categorically not free. If had been advertised as low cost then I would have happily paid, but pulling scammy tricks just makes me concerned that the app won’t be ethical; I won’t trust my mental health to anything that has red flags or comes across as sketchy. I uninstalled this immediately yet I’m still getting spam from them with no unsubscribe button!.Version: 1.43.1

That’s it?Procrastination journey was so short and I didn’t learn anything helpful that I couldn’t easily find on a Google search..Version: 1.43.1

Nothing available free.Honestly really really good but you have to pay that’s the only way you use it. I wish there was some limited free content..Version: 1.43.1

Content is cutoffWeird layout puts ellipses at the end of sentences that are too long to display on one line… theres no way to reveal the rest of the sentence (tried tapping and rotating to landscape)?? Couldn’t speak to the content quality.Version: 1.43.1

This is the start of a really great app, however...I have been using this app for a couple of days now, so my impression of it might change. The strategies are valid, the works they cite are interesting, and the way activities are set up they let you identify triggers, responses, and consequences. It's nice for acute anger outbursts where you yell at someone for 30 minutes and then feel better after some cooldown, but if your anger is "low and slow" you're pretty much out of luck. This app assumes that anger comes with screaming, hitting, or breaking things, but that is often not the case. I don't regret actions that come out of anger for me, I don't even take action! The issue is that I lay in bed and scroll instagram to avoid the angering things in my life, not that I yell at my mother to do the dishes because I lost in fortnite. Please add features that help with chronic anger and resolving the grudges you hold against people who wrong you. Anger as a reaction to things that affect you for years can't be solved with "take a deep breath and think about how your actions now will impact your relationship with this person.".Version: 1.34.1

No other option but to “trial” proAfter doing a short survey to analyse your personality it goes straight to asking you to trial the pro version for 7 days before paying the equivalent of $120+ per year. There’s no exit button to just use the basic non-pro version. Kinda weird flex for an app that claims to help people..Version: 1.43.1

$150Fun for a trial. Arm and leg for a year. To your developer response: That plan isn’t offered in your app. $150 yearly or $10 monthly (=$120 a year haha) I’d love to do that, but it isn’t on offer.Version: 1.43.1

Waste of Money! This app is great for a few days, but as soon as you’re done with the emotion you signed up for, there are no more resources, yet they immediately charge for an entire year. There are not a year’s worth, never mind a month’s worth, of resources in this app. Don’t waste your time..Version: 1.43.1

App is only available via subscriptionThis app should be marked as a paid app, not just “in app purchases”. I assumed there would be a free version with options to upgrade to ad-less premium or something but the entire app is behind a paywall. All you do it answer a handful of questions and establish goals, which takes about 2 minutes, then you’re asked to pick a subscription to continue..Version: 1.41.5

New userHave not fully tried the apps yet, might rate more star later if it useful. 3 stars for a start as I found the apps looks interesting and cute 😃.Version: 1.3.0

Basic Errors and forces paymentHello - laudable idea but I use an iPhone 7 and all the initial questions had the text on the bottom right corner covered up by the “submit” button and the I was forced into a page demanding I take a seven day free trial followed by £5pcm payment plan (for which the text was also incorrectly sized). Don’t oxford and Harvard have enough money? They own almost as much property as they king of England! What about some free mental health apps to say thank you for all the wrongs you’ve done and the bloody money you’ve accepted from billionaire robber barons?.Version: 1.43.0

Appreciate the concept but why make me feel like I was back in grade school? Some of the techniques have been really helpful, but the modules consist of a LOT of fill in the blank type of questions, and picking whether a particular reaction is a sign of anger or not. It feels strange to have there be only ONE correct explanation of certain emotions, and it is particularly perplexing why I have to go under the stress of possibly picking the wrong answer when I’m just trying to work on myself. Why are users treated like grade school students at the mercy of some arbitrary determination of whether an action is motivated by anger or not, just so they can be subject to unnecessary judgment? For example, I thought “trying to make eye contact” wasn’t a sign because I would make eye contact with people out of respect or to show that I’m listening to them, but the app told me that it could be a sign of anger from “feeling left out.” It might make sense with 20/20 hindsight but I often struggle to wrap my head around these questions/answers. Alternatively, supposing that the app has all the correct answers, at least show me a good number examples of signs of anger before throwing me in the middle of multiple choice questions please..Version: 1.42.2

Why so few reviews? Why is there only one review for this app and it is 2 years old?.Version: 1.45.0

Confusing, and some odd languageI was keen to give the app a good trial, but found it just too difficult to navigate - there seemed to be some things that linked together and some things that sort of went down a blind alley, and I couldn’t find my way out! I also found the language used in the app slightly strange (stereotyping German people amongst other oddities). I think the developer(s) is/are young and maybe the app reflects this. My advice would be to remove the German reference asap!!.Version: 1.42.2

ScamLike many others I was expecting a notification two days before the trial period ended. I did not receive a notification and was charged the exorbitant annual fee. I emailed them to provide feedback and received a screenshot of a supposed record of an email sent. The screenshot contained nothing to prove it had actually been sent to me and there was absolutely no niceties in the correspondence. I understand it’s my fault for not cancelling straight away but saying there’ll be a notification then not providing one is dishonest and misleading. The content in the app is okay. Not that helpful for parenting frustrations..Version: 1.43.1

No reason this needs to be a subscriptionThis app is expensive. It also forces subscription by basically leaving you little breadcrumbs and limiting the amount of knowledge you can learn each day. Before the subscription model you would buy an app like this for $20. Its now 3 or 12 month subscription costing $60 - $120. There’s an option for one month only which is probably all a lot of us would need if not for the capping of how many units you can do each day. Personally I feel as though I’ll be better off buying a book. I’ve done the trial and it’s only really scratching the surface. Probably one chapter of a book. Not useful for me but best of luck to everyone else..Version: 1.43.1

Seems solid, but coerciveA free trial is 7 days but they prevent you from doing more than 2 activities in a level per day (at least on the first day). I assume this is intentional, to stretch out the onboarding experience past the 7 days. For a mental health app, this is especially uncool..Version: 1.43.1

Glorified E-Book on Managing EmotionsI downloaded this app after seeing an advertisement calling it Duolingo for emotions. After a few days of use, I’ve found that this app is more akin to a glorified e-book. Each lesson is several slides you can swipe through of written text, with one or two very obvious multiple choice fill-in-the-blank questions. While the information is good, there is no gamification or practice element that helps you absorb the information and learn the described techniques. When they do have you practice techniques, it is just freely writing a response to a prompt. It would be better to create a mad-libs style response where the app is providing ways anger, anxiety, etc can be addressed with blank spaces to add specific details. While this is a great concept for an app, it falls short when it comes to actually teaching the techniques it describes. It could use updating to improve the gamification of the app with interactive elements that guide the user in their learning..Version: 1.43.1

Good concept, but has to improve a lot!Unlike Duolingo, this app will only let you use it if you get the membership. I got it. Then the app won’t let you keep doing more “lessons” after you do a couple of them. That’s kind of a bummer. Canceled the membership and deleted the app. If they change that I would use it again. By the way: the “it takes 21 days to form a habit” is not true, it should not be used on the app. It depends so much on the person and what kind of habits the person is forming..Version: 1.43.1

Regret PurchaseI had high hopes for this app, but it’s just not for me. I learned nothing so far that I already did not know from doing research. I have inattentive ADHD and I lost interest in this app so often throughout my trial period. The design is cute but there’s just too much going on for me and techniques toolkit is annoying to get to because I get distracted by the Community Questions and it is difficult to determine what tasks I have remaining to do for the day just by glancing at it because the purple checkmark kind of blends in with the app color theme. And yes it is glitchy at times. I also dislike that I had to send surveys to friends/family at one point. Pretty awkward to do when you’re just beginning this journey. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel my subscription before the free trial so now I am stuck with a year of this. I wish it would send a reminder before charging. I will continue to try this out since it’s paid for, and will update this review if it gets better but I’m still pretty salty about the charge..Version: 1.43.1

Need for Enhancing Accessibility: A Vision for Inclusive LearningThe app seems REALLY cool , but it’s a huge reading-focused app with a lack of accessibility—primarily in the text format, which makes it more difficult and frustrating for me. As someone who took the ACT with accommodations for the blind and dyslexic, which included having a person read the test to me, I find the app's lack of an audible feature to be a significant barrier. I can’t use the tools on my iPhone that I usually rely on to have the text read or "spoken" out loud. This limitation requires me to push myself even more to use the app, which is something I really want to do. Overall, I feel that, without an audible feature, it's not the most realistic use of my time. However, if that changes, I would definitely like to take part in this app!!! Additionally, I suggest adding a definition feature so that every user can have the freedom to not have to feel like an idiot constantly looking it up on Google. It's worth noting that apps like Speechify demonstrate how adding accommodations can benefit a wide range of people, and platforms like Quizlet already offer an audible feature, making learning more accessible to all. And perhaps a question tool, if one of ur stamens is confusing and in need of further explanation..Version: 1.43.1

Shame it costsFor an app that claims to offer the same benefits as therapy, is a real shame that it costs at all. Charging a yearly subscription means that those who cannot financially afford the subscription (or therapy in general), miss out on the help they very much need. In an world that’s becoming more and more expensive to live in, I’d consider making the app free, if you truly care and want to make a difference in society. Otherwise this app contributes to the increasing gap between those who can access the help they need because they have the financial resources, compared to those who can’t access any help they desperately need because they don’t have the financial resources, and reinforces that in order to ask or find help, first, you must have money. A persons finances can greatly impact their mental health, which I’m sure you are aware of, so again, a real shame it costs, as this app could have be life changing for so, so many, including myself, students and more..Version: 1.42.2

No good for iPhone SEI have an iPhone SE and this app seems “too big” for my screen. Some of the words drop off the bottom of the screen so I’m having to guess the end of sentences, plus in the anger reflection area, I’m trying to select my most appropriate trigger but I can’t because the blue tick is “below” the level of my screen. Such a shame as I’ve been thinking about using this app for a while and now I’ve finally committed to it, it doesn’t seem compatible for my phone. Help!.Version: 1.43.1

Trial period mishap with no refundI wish I could rate this app higher. The app itself is great - but the company policies really turned me off of it. I tried to update my trial to a monthly trial on the app - and on my iPhone it showed that it went through. It came the day of the end of the trial and company billed me for the year trial, even though I had been told that my trial had changed to the monthly. I contacted them the moment I was charged and I was denied a refund. These predatory practices in companies really frustrate me 😕. Therefore I would not recommend the app for those reasons - know that customer service will not have your back. Response to developer: No, that is totally false. The Apple Store refunded me - it was the Ahead website that refused to refund me and stopped responding to my emails. Do not say that the Apple Store handles all of that. Update 2: I was NOT refunded by Ahead app. I still have a charge of $70 on my credit card account. I should only have been charged $9.99 after changing my trial to monthly via the app..Version: 1.41.5

Disappointed at cancellation policyI signed up for a one week trial and was not given a notification before my week ended. As soon as I was billed, I attempted contacting customer service to cancel my subscription and received an automated message about a no-refund policy for the subscription. I find this to be quite deceitful given that there was no option to trial the app without signing up for automatic billing. I’m extremely disappointed as there also wasn’t an option to pay for one month. Now I’m stuck paying for a full year for an app I don’t even want to use..Version: 1.43.1

Cannot Access Next JourneyI have completed several journeys on the ahead app and have been enjoying the content, but the next journey I am supposed to do is faded out and I am unable to access it. This has been going on for two days. I have contacted the company and have not received a reply. This is disappointing. The app is expensive and suggests we work on the modules daily..Version: 1.43.1

Triggering app!I tried to use Ahead on the 7 day free trial and wanted to try to get the most out of it but it limits you to two activities per day which is not very much at all. Took me just a few minutes to complete both tasks and then it blocked me from doing anything further. This is really pathetic of the developers to have done that and means you can’t really get an idea of whether the app will be useful during your trial period. No other app I have ever used does this and you’d think that an app that is supposed to help with emotional intelligence wouldn’t purposefully cause the user frustration from day one… but obviously this is a money-grab, rather than developers who really care about helping people with issues. Cancelling on day one because you didn’t think about your target audience at all..Version: 1.43.0

Helpful but unsure how this is sustainedI have been using the app for about a month. It has been helpful for me to this point in being a nudge to be conscious of how I am feeling and techniques to manage that. But after 30 days I finished all the ‘journeys’ and now, as far as I can understand, the way to maintain daily use is to do a check in. But a check in is to a fairly binary set of emotions. I am sure there must be more to it but I can’t figure it out and haven’t had a response for guidance. If I am using its full functionality now that I have completed my journeys, I’d be quite disappointed ..Version: 1.43.1

Not enough…app?I really enjoyed working though this app the past few months- I found it quick, easy, and helpful. I paid for the year subscription but now I’ve hit a wall because I’ve worked through all of the lessons on the app and have nothing else to do but reference the toolkit. It doesn’t seem right to offer year subscriptions with only two months of app content. I’m really disappointed. - Not quite understanding the developer reply as I never reached out to them. I fully understand what a year subscription means…At the end of the day, I completed an average of 5-6 lessons a week and ran through this entire app in less than two months. It’s not worth the $$$ or the snark from the developer..Version: 1.43.1

Sad that you have to pay a subscriptionIt’s advertised as “duolingo but for your mental health” but unfortunately the difference is duo lingo is free… some people don’t have an extra penny to spare especially people who are struggling this would be nice if it was available to everyone…..Version: 1.45.0

100% Drivel all about getting you sucked into a subscriptionVery polished on-boarding process spins and dazzles while the man behind the curtain develops you a custom plan. Try for free and we’ll let you know when we will ding you card for over $100. Warning never comes and they cannot refund an apple subscription because of course that is impossible. This is their business and they have a formula they use with other apps. Don’t get sucked in..Version: 1.43.1

Pay to useLost my time answering questions just to get a pop up asking for money.Version: 1.40.4

The refund policy is so scammyI wanted to try the free period and ended my term too soon so I got charged $110 which they say they won't give back. I find this to be a slight form of stealing..Version: 1.43.1

Constant sign out bug that makes me lose my streak constantlyI started off with a really good review and this app keeps bugging out and kicking me out of it so I lose my streak. Has happens a few times and support questions why it keeps happening.Version: 1.43.1

Getting there, missing the point in key areasThis app needs to allow variation in people. One of the reasons Duolingo is amazing is it doesn’t enforce you showing up with the same time and energy each day. Yes, great, 5 mins a day is optimal. Ok. But if you are still someone who will sit and do a few hours at the weekend and not in the week, it will let you. This feels more like Noom (that’s not a good thing). Some of us are neurodivergent and working to our strengths means acknowledging that we absolutely do not have the same interest and commitment every day. Let us work with who we are - believe me, I’ve been managed into neurotypical boxes enough. Also winky face guy is annoying as hell on the app icon - any chance of something that’s not a face on it? It’s just another barrier to getting on with something I think will help me if I can get going..Version: 1.41.5

False advertisingDon’t say you like the Duolingo of emotional learning if I can’t sign up for free. (…and no a free trial to be billed after 7 days doesn’t count as free) Edit (response): I think most of us are aware of apple’s AppStore’s questionable policy on “free” apps that have in app purchases. It’s your advertisement I saw on facebook that says ‘the duolingo of emotional learning’ to be not in good faith. Of course you and your team deserve to earn a fair and livable wage. And the ethics of third party advertisers connected to this particular app since it deals with personal data/information I understand could be very difficult to navigate and probably best to avoid altogether. But the comparison to duolingo, a company which has repeatedly tried to find new revenue streams but always keeping its commitment to having a genuinely free (freely accessible to the masses—via advertising) option for consumers, feels disingenuous..Version: 1.42.2

Like watching Sesame Street, if Sesame Street was mostly just a blank screenThis app talks to you like you’re a five-year-old, and then spreads smarmy, entirely empty “advice” across dozens of screens that you slowly, slooooooooowly have to tap through. That is, when it doesn’t take 10 minutes to load and/or constantly time out and return a blank screen because of an internal server error. This is so laughably far from being ready for the big time, and rather than using this as an opportunity to offer this half-cocked collection of nonsense for a reduced price so they can actually collect data and improve it so it’s worth your while, this company wants to dig its hooks into you as fast as possible and lock you in so it can drain your wallet..Version: 1.42.1

So frustratingThis is probably a great app but be straight up in the beginning. It is so annoying downloading an app, signing up and answering a bunch of questions AND THEN finding out it is not free. I REALLY wish they would change it so this is not allowed..Version: 1.41.5

For those only at the beginning of their journeyThere was another review that mentioned how there is a sadness connected to some of these emotions that is a big “miss” in the app, and I would have to agree. For example, I chose the anxiety and overthinking/ruminating, which I definitely agree with. However, my anxiety is rooted in things…it is not just generalized “anxiety” which is what this app aims to classify it as. Some of the advice just seems silly, like if you were worrying do something you enjoy instead.… that is such topical advice. People that suffer from anxiety struggle to do things they enjoy because they have trouble getting out of their worry cycle. What would benefit people greatly is the app being able to “relate “to its audience. “At times, anxiety can stem from different emotions. Sometimes we can find it difficult to get out of our anxiety because we have inadvertently made it our comfort zone.” This would be an example of how we can relate anxiety to humans and also tie to our evolution.… and relay to the user, that worry and anxiety can be a season and not a way life..Version: 1.42.2

AWFUL - charged for a year and they offer no refunds! They stole £60 out of my account because I was unable to access the internet for the week to cancel my subscription and when I contacted them on the day they would take the funds, but they had taken it the day before (I assumed midnight of the day) I am autistic adhd which this app says it caters for and yet it has no change of mind or refund policy and now I can’t pay my rent. Devestated that I tried getting help and it’s left me worse than I was before. It’s an awful sneaky way to lock people in for an entire year of something they now resent even trying..Version: 1.43.1

Expansive. No free option.Yet another app that asks for your details and numerous questions before hitting you with the mandatory paid subscription plans. Why these apps won’t say that at the start, we obviously all know (they want you to forget to cancel.), but it’s a horrible practice. Can’t comment on the quality of the app because you can’t use it without giving the app permission to charge in perpetuity. “Oh but you can use it for a week first” the developer will say. But this kind of setup is scummy. Shame..Version: 1.42.2

App requires paid subscription to use, not actually ‘free’I downloaded the app after getting a few targeted ads that Ahead is like Duolingo for Emotional Intelligence. This sounded super exciting to me. This marketing was a ploy though as it is not like Duolingo at all. Duolingo offers the full app experience for free and offers a paid subscription to enhance your features. There is no way to use this app without paying for the subscription. The developers say because they offer a ‘7-day’ free trial period that it qualifies as a free app, but this is disingenuous as you have to put in your credit card information right away and if you cancel during the 7-day free period, you immediately lose access, this means they banking on you forgetting to cancel the subscription in time. I would not recommend downloading until a truly free version is available. In terms of the activities, I did them during the free trial period and many of the questions they ask you at the beginning of each activity force you to answer in a specific way. For example, it will ask you ‘Have you ever avoided doing an activity because it made you too anxious?’ And the only choices will be ‘sometimes’ or ‘all the time’. No option for ‘does not apply to me’ and so the app ends up ‘learning’ incorrect information about you, which it says it uses to build your learning path. Overall, I would not recommend and I feel tricked by the marketing for this app.Version: 1.43.1

Predatory pricing modelI signed up for the free trial and then got charged for a full year subscription automatically through Apple without having to confirm it. Ahead says they can’t refund because Apple. Apple says no refunds period..Version: 1.45.0

“Free” and “Paid”Like many people that have left one star reviews, I downloaded this app to try, went through the initial questionnaire and then hit a “subscription wall” where the only option is to sign up for a 7 day trial and then pay, after reading reviews and responses from the developer, I see that the reason this app is considered “free” is because of that 7day trial offer but no where in the App Store pictures or description does it tell you this and only when you go to reviews do you find the reason, even though the developers responses to reviews leads me to believe it’s spelled out somewhere in the fine print before you install (it’s not). Like many that struggle with anger I have other mental health problems going on that prevent me from remembering to cancel a subscription even with a notification, so like all those others, I decided to uninstall as soon as I couldn’t use the app without setting up a payment plan. There are many ways to introduce a free version of your app without creating a pay wall and telling prospective customers that “we can’t do this for free” sets a bad taste in my mouth when it’s advertised as free to begin with and no mention of the details I’ve laid out..Version: 1.42.2

ZERO rating1. Charged me before the 7 day trial was up! And now I have to go through hoops to get my $80 back. That is wrong. 2. As a free app (ie, no plan chosen) I saw AI coaching as an option. Once I chose a plan, couldn’t find it. Very weird. Looked everywhere. 3. It is wayyyyyy too simplistic. Like, wayyyyyy toooooooo simplistic. When I’m angry, watch my feelings is a great theoretical idea but totally inaccessible. If it’s something low stakes, yeah, I have already done that. But I’m here to learn more about managing anger when people really overstep boundaries or don’t respect the situation. Platitudes will not help then. I have seen nothing about healthy way to express upset, or just accepting anger is an emotion that we as a culture are not comfortable with in general. Or how when it encourages us to notice feelings/behaviors before we get mad…and then what yo do…talk a walk, give me a script of what to say to someone that doesn’t make either of us wrong. I don’t know, that’s WHY I tried the app. This is a fluff app that I tried, was disappointed in, and then tried to cancel before my 7 day trial (day 2 actually) and now my Apple subscription says nothing about a free trial and everything about how, sure I cancel but I can still use the app for the next year because… I’ve already paid for it. This is a scam and…wait for it…I’m ANGRY!! lol!!!.Version: 1.45.0

Probably good for kids or people with a low EQA little too basic and some of the quizzes to assess your personality type don’t have enough options to select from, so it feels like the recommendations are off..Version: 1.43.1

Slightly annoyed, was feeling good about it until I found out about the subscription and the price.I was interested in this app due to my “slight” anger issues, so I downloaded, signed up, and did the quiz. It was only then I realised there was a subscription. So, I’m not angry, just slightly annoyed of the £7.66 charge. Might consider buying later though under the approval of my parents..Version: 1.43.1

Took money even though I cancelledI used the trial version of Ahead. I didn’t find it helpful and cancelled in good time. Kai sent acknowledging the cancellation. Despite this, and with no notification, the company took a subscription payment. So, my advice is to avoid using this app you know that you definitely wish to subscribe..Version: 1.42.2

Interesting concept, a little buggyThe app interface is visually engaging and fun, but the excessive clicking required isn’t my favorite (I don’t love this in duo lingo either, so maybe I’m not their target audience!). There seems to be a lot of loading between screens, and the assessment was confusing. They first had me do it in the browser, but then after I downloaded the app it didn’t translate. Then it didn’t seem to recognize my trial, even though I had put in my payment info when I downloaded the app, and I got an error message when trying to restore purchases. So I was confused when I kept getting popups about the trial I couldn’t get passed. Anyway, it seems like well researched info, and the concept it very intriguing, but I definitely haven’t seen enough to justify $100/year right out the gate..Version: 1.43.1

Too expensiveI finished my free trial and purchased for a month to see, I like the content but they only allow you to go through few lessons a day. It’s usually 3 lessons but today somehow I took one and said I need a break. I’m glad I just purchased one month, paying a lot and doing one lesson in 3min a day is too expensive..Version: 1.43.1

What a scamOn the website it says you can try it for $1 which I paid, but then when you download the app it tells you to subscribe for much more expensive. So I decided not to go ahead. But today I just received a $79 usd receipt which I never consented to. Terrible system will never trust this app..Version: 1.43.1

Has potentialIt’s annoyingly capped so you can only do maybe two blocks of learning per day, giving the excuse for taking time to process your learning. Also there’s no games or anything crafted to help calm you/use the tools you’re learning in the moment. For example, couldn’t there be a game where you search to highlight bubbles with positive affirmations/thoughts, and let negative ones float by? Thereby training your brain to only look for positives? What’s available is great, it’s just a shame there’s not access to more..Version: 1.43.1

There is a costWas going really well and had some things identified and then got asked to pay so couldn’t continue. Up until that point it was going real good.Version: 1.42.1

Not awesomeReason number one why I gave it a three star is because it was mini reading and no one likes his reading reading reading for about 30 minutes a day or even an hour second reason is because when I do read it just tell me oh you have to say that oh you have to know what to do oh you need to have something to calm yourself down earth like something to hope you realize that you’re doing something when you might not even know it so that’s my second reason in my third reason is because it’s not even like that fun you would think it be like old pictures and blah blah blah but it’s not it’s just reading and telling you what to do when if you’re upset you don’t just want someone telling you all you have to do this and you have to do that or else something..Version: 1.28.0

This is NOT a free appI am a little disappointed by this app. Having read through reviews and googling results it seems to be a great evidence-backed tool. However it is NOT free. The app will conduct a personality test then immediately require you to sign up for a 7-day trial. There is no option to refuse a subscription so if you accept this, you must remember to manually cancel your trial in order to avoid being charged. I am not a fan of the app comparing their subscription price to the cost of therapy - ‘look, we cost less than therapy!’ - of course it should, an app is an algorithmic tool, not a individualised and licensed treatment plan provider. I understand the need for devs to keep salaried employees however to not even have free access to the most basic features is quite the let down. I congratulate users who subscribed and have had good experiences but this is certainly not an affordable option for app users seeking to better themselves. There are plenty of free options on the web and through medical facilities in your locale. The devs are simply not transparent in their App Store description that this is an entirely paid-for app and there are NO FREE FEATURES other than a 7-day trial which I find a little manipulative. I deleted the app 10 mins after downloading it..Version: 1.38.1

Sneakily charged $100 for an entire year subscription instead of monthlyI am SO disappointed that the free trial was automatically made into a YEARLY subscription. This is so shady and I’m super disappointed with an app that’s supposed to be stress relieving doing that. I would have maybe tried it for another month or two and understood I was subscribed. But to automatically put someone on a one year $100 plan?? AWFUL. Seriously awful..Version: 1.43.1

Great in theory……but not really in practice. I found the app very buggy in places - mainly just not being able to move forward and being stuck on a page that I can’t do anything with; no buttons, nothing to click or press to move on and just stuck. Also the information is very very basic. Perhaps it might get more advanced as you progress through but the bugginess of it just makes me annoyed (which is ironic given the theme of the app) and it hasn’t provided anything of value so far that seems to be worth pursuing with the frustrations of it, or the cost. Has potential perhaps - and probably good for those who have never explored emotion to any extent and want a basic intro. Also, the icons and images are cute..Version: 1.42.2

Complete rip offI was advised I would get a notification prior to being charged for the app so I could unsubscribe if I wasn’t finding it helpful. No notification was provided. I am now $130 out of pocket and cannot afford food for the next week til I get paid. Avoid at all costs..Version: 1.43.1

Took my money without notifying meI downloaded this after incessant advertising to trial. Didn’t use. Just saw they’d taken over $120 from my account and have a strict refund policy. There was NOTHING about this in the sign up information. Be warned. I have requested a refund as we cannot afford this so it’s done the opposite of what it intends - my mental health will now be very damaged by tossing away grocery money..Version: 1.43.1
