Moonshot - A Journey Home for Negative User Reviews
✓ Fails to reach its potentialThe game begins very well, carefully introducing you to the world and mechanics. I found the difficulty to increase very quickly and the hints do not help you to obtain the entire levels collectables. This forces you to go online and look for walkthroughs which is never fun. Some of the mechanics just dont make much sense like the sphere gravity circle which you must allign with perfectly or you will hit the planet and fail..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Cute graphics but boring gameplayIf you want to see cute colorful graphics then this game is for you. If you want engaging gameplay, then look elsewhere. The game got old and repetitive very quickly..Version: 1.0
✓ Horrible controlsIt looks like the game could be fun, but it's unclear of how to actually play the game. When using the trackpad, the screen just moves around instead of aiming and moving the little ball thing. Trying to use the keyboard to aim and trackpad to aim doesn't do anything. There is zero instructions on what the controls are to play the game. Thus, the one star because I can't play due to not being able to control and move the ball thing..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Updated: Can't really give it any stars because I can't play itUpdate: The Developer got back to me about this app, but still can't get it to work at all on my 2015 max'd out MacBook Pro (top of the line CPU, max memory). Delays are significant (multiple seconds after mouse clicks, pegged CPUs, etc. So I'm just going to remove it. Since it's really not fair to penalize the developers for not being able to run on 7 year old hardward, I'm going to change this to a "3" for "average. But be aware, it's virtually useless on older hardware. ----- Original Review ----- Trying to run this on my MacBook Pro. I can launch it, and click on some moons, but there appears to be no instructinos anywhere that I can find for how to launch the little moon dude. Every time I touch the trackpad, it appears to zoom in our out, But nothing makes the moon dude move. I've tried all kinds of modifier keys, Tried drag/dropping, Nothing seems to work. I'd me more than happy to re-rate it if I can figure out how to play it..Version: 1.1
✓ Constantly asked for reviewI normally don’t review apps, but was really annoyed in this case because the app kept prompting and had no option to just not review. So congrats you get a one star review..Version: 1.1.2
✓ Better for a leftyReally cute and fun, but as a righty, it’s not very comfortable to play. Because direction of travel is generally to the right, I have to constantly reach across the screen and block the view with my hand. Though the screen stays in landscape, I’ve started rotating my iPad to portrait to try to free up the view. Not sure I’ll play for long..Version: 1.0
✓ Looks like fun, can't get it to work. There is another review from a guy named Steve Parker who's using a 2015 laptop couldn't get the little moon guy to do anything. I am on a brand new MacBook Pro and having the exact same problem. I drag/release and nothing happens except some zooming. I read the developer response to that review and didn't really see instructions to do anything that I haven't tried already. No idea what's going on, but am just going to delete this game. It looks like it'd be fun if it worked..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Bad words used in appWords like Bugger are used in this app..Version: 1.0
✓ It’s nothing specialThe gameplay is basically slinging a ball around planets with gravity, and not much else. The style is nice and so is the music, but there’s nothing in this game that makes it stand out from all the others in this category..Version: 1.0.1
✓ The guide dots aren’t rightIt seems fun but gets increasingly frustrating because the moon doesn’t follow the guide dots. I’ve played levels where the guide dots show that the moon will clearly go toward a collision with a planet, but when I release it hits the wormhole again. That’s frustrating - what is the point of the guide dots if they are misleading?.Version: 1.0
✓ ArbitraryThe way you sometimes get in the orbit or sometimes don't, or you sometimes go through the portal or sometimes go through it, makes this fun puzzle game very hard to enjoy..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Bad Language but good gameGame was going great but on a fail it uses the phrase “bugger” which is not age appropriate for its rating in the UK. Sadly have had to uninstall from small peoples devices today..Version: 1.0
✓ Poorly thought outHave to agree with another reviewer. It’s a cute game, but it’s beyond awkward to play if you’re right handed. The moon always appears on the left of the screen and needs to be moved right. That means you constantly get in your own way as you try to aim and drag. Needs improvement to be viable, especially as it gets harder..Version: 1.0
✓ Fun premise, but needs UX refinementsI like the core game, but I think for repeat-driven games like this, having all those animations every time you restart can be pretty frustrating. Sometimes I feel like it takes more time for the screen to reset than my actual attempt. Tiny Wings+ knocks this out of the park — they don’t even interrupt the music on restarts..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Beware bad languageThe app has a 4+ rating but the repeated use of the word ‘bugger’ doesn’t sit well in that rating, at least not to me! It’s a cutesy game until that crops up after you fail a level, which is a shame.Version: 1.0
✓ TransitionsThe game is nice but the transition between worlds and levels give me a headache there should be an option to turn it off.Version: 1.0
✓ Harasses for a reviewI strongly dislike being harassed to leave a review when I am barely into a game. This game asked me every single puzzle, 30 seconds apart most times. Since I can not know yet if I will like the game, I have to rate it accordingly..Version: 1.1.1
✓ I really wanted to like this…But ultimately found the game somewhat boring and tedious with the multi-step levels that are mindless and don’t require any creativity. Extra stars for great design and polish, though..Version: 1.0
✓ Great game. Just a small issueGreat game. Well design. Cute graphics. Simple but efficient game play. My only issue is please put an option in the settings so we can remove the force feedback. That is something that annoys me. Otherwise great work..Version: 1.0
✓ The first time you were able to see a cat that looked exactly the exact sameThe new study found that people in the United Kingdom were able to identify a significant difference in the game.Version: 1.1.2
✓ Lefties onlyRight handed people will enjoy obscuring the screen with their right hand as they drag their finger to the left. Never mind I’ll change it in settings. Oh. App deleted..Version: 1.0
✓ Fastest way to get me to uninstall a game?Don’t offer a way to skip a level or continue from the point where you died previously..Version: 1.0.1
✓ LOOKS GOOD BUTHow to use with a touch pad? No curser on the screen. To use the touch pad only makes the whole screen pull to one side. No idea how to get directions to show or settings on how to see what keys to use to play. Finaly a curser appeared. No idea how to close the screen without F1 and a force quit. Kids' game..Version: 1.0
