✓ It’s Tabou but if it had a Time MachineIt’s basically Tabou, except all of the stories take place in I’m guessing the 19th century. I started playing it a couple of weeks ago but they haven’t updated any of the stories in that time. I wish there were more face options, they don’t have an Hispanic/Middle Eastern/South Asian option. Us brown girls would like some inclusion. I do like historical fiction, and I did like they did adaptations of Jane Austen novels, that was cool. But they definitely reused a book from Tabou. I gave it 3 stars because there hasn’t been a single book that’s been updated in 2-3 weeks..Version: 2.4.5
✓ Sexist in a way they don’t expectI found the stories on this app to be quite rude in how it forces you to be a certain type of way (bold) and insinuates that it is a woman’s fault for not keeping her husband from straying. I found it to be shaming to girls (or anyone else) who want to wait for sex or are not the type to be interested in a casual, open relationship. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) you do not have agency of your own character, and the non diamond outfit options are terrible and the game shakes you for making them. This game legit made me angry and I love Regency stuff like Bridgerton and Jane Austen. There are much better interactive fiction options out there that cost less and give you more agency..Version: 1.16.5
✓ InterfacePlayed the game for about 30 mins, totally gave me whiplash to see the characters swipe in an out of screen every 2 seconds, I’m a fast reader so even though it is a minor detail, it kind of bothered me!! A little better example is episode that keeps both characters in screen the whole time, I understand it is a new app so they can’t have motions like kissing a hand or something, but it is possible and something like that would update the game!.Version: 1.16.5

✓ Good game butIt is a great game, captivating story the only issue i have with the game is the gems. Every good in game choice costs 25 gems. Nice clothes and hair cost gems and even with the subscription you can’t get through a full chapter unless you want to miss out on good story explaining choices which again cost 25 gems each! Bit ridiculous. Would like to see more story choices that are 5-10 gems and leave the more expensive buys for the clothing (leaving them as is). ✓ Astronomical prices. Don’t download.The storyline’s are decent enough, it’s engaging and dramatic. However the customisation is sorely lacking and the worst of all - the prices to take any of the choices is HUGE! It’s is $7.99 (AU) to get 25 gems. 25 gems gets you ONE choice. One. Single. Choice. In. A. Game. About. Choices. ….Let that sink in. So to play this game to its fullest you’d be spending at least $8 per chapter on one choice alone. Not to mention you don’t have a closet of clothes. Every time you get changed, it’s a new choice of clothes. Which means you have to BUY a dress every single time unless you “choose” to go out looking like a peasant girl. So add another $8 onto almost every chapter. Same with when you get to change your hair. Another $8 every few chapters. So at least $16-$24 PER CHAPTER. To complete 16 chapters, you’re looking at easily spending well over $250 for ONE STORY. Most other apps like this allow you to buy clothing or a hair and keep it in the range of choices for future, instead of trying to force you to spend more and more so you don’t look like a hillbilly and have people insult you in the game for your choice of clothing. And 5-10 gems on a choice (depending what the choice is) I would understand. But 25 is disgusting especially when 25 gems alone cost $8. You should be ashamed of your disgrace of a “game”. Bottom line? Don’t waste your time with this app. It’s a greedy, money grab that isn’t worth it at all..Version: 1.16.5
✓ Don’t give them your money!!I honestly really enjoyed the stories and art, so much so that I purchased access to the “love & passion club” and the rewards it entails. What I didn’t realize, however, was that they’d charge me again two weeks later (shouldn’t it be monthly?!) and then completely ignore me when I tried to contact customer support. I still have no idea if I’ll be charged again. Luckily Apple gave me a refund this time, but I am NOT happy with the app’s complete LACK of customer service. SAVE YOUR MONEY, do NOT give it to Scam & Passion. There’s way better stories out there in actual book form to invest your money into. Learn from my mistakes!.Version: 1.11.5

✓ 1 Year With No UpdatesTo start off, I’m giving this 2 stars because of customer experience, but I wouldn’t be that upset if I didn’t love the app. The stories are spicy and perfect if you love period romances (though not necessarily accurate). That said, it’s been a year since they updated their stories. There are a good number to enjoy if you’re new to the app, but there have been no new stories in a year, and there are still stories in progress that have just stalled with no new chapters. I had a good number of gems invested in this app and contacted support to see if I could move them over to Tabou (where it appears they’re trying to consolidate apps), but to no avail. Really disappointed that it appears they’ve given up on this app, and Tabou just doesn’t deliver in the same way..Version: 2.4.5
✓ The clothes girl…Listen, I love this this game. Have been playing non-stop, but I wish there was an option to wear the clothing you buy more than once. I feel like there should be a closet of dresses to choose from for any occasion. To constantly buy dresses that you only wear for ONE occasion seems like a big money grab. ✓ Incomplete StoriesI was enjoying the app up until a few months ago when the writers/app stopped providing story updates! There are currently 3 books left unfinished and it has been well over 3 months since the last chapters were released. I attempted to inquire about the books on 2 separate occasions but to no avail- the Help function just closed the chat instead of providing an update. If you are OK with incomplete stories and being ignored, I’d say go for it! But, if you’re like means enjoy completing a story once started, then you may want to reconsider.Version: 2.4.5
✓ Don’t make my mistakeI was enjoying the stories in this until I made the mistake of purchasing gems. Up until that point I had the option to watch adverts to earn gems which could be used to purchase premium outfits/ story options. This helped keep me engaged with the stories. I decided to buy a small amount of gems while I was reading one of the stories as I wanted to progress faster but since then I have lost the option to watch the ads. This means that if I don’t want to choose the free outfits (none of which are nice) then I can’t progress with the story. I can’t afford to purchase gems everyday, I had intended them to be occasional purchases but now I won’t be continuing to use the app. Such a shame that you don’t have the option to continue watching the adds and supplementing with purchases, it’s an all or nothing situation..Version: 2.2.4
✓ Won’t let me play gamesI don’t know if this is done on purpose or something, but the app will randomly not let me play any of the games. like i started off with “duke of sin” but after the 1st chap it said there weren’t anymore chaps available which i thought was normal. then i tried again a few hrs later and chap 2 was up but supposedly chap 3 wasn’t. so went to try out one of the other stories and it wouldn’t let me try any of them. it just kept saying the same “something went wrong. this chapter is not available yet. check again later!” then i updated the app and was able to play chaps 3+4 of “duke of sin” and play chap 1 of one of the other stories. but now it’s back to not letting me play a single story, including the ones i haven’t started.Version: 2.1.1
✓ Free gems disappear after purchaseNormally I would’ve given this app five stars, because the stories are great and lots of fun. I understand that developers need money, so the gems for choices are understandable, and I even wanted to support them by buying gems. My issue is that as soon as you purchase something in the app, the option to earn gems by watching ads completely disappears. I am not the first person to have had this issue. It seems to be a common issue on the forums, and it has happened on other apps that this company owns. As soon as I purchase something, I am no longer able to earn free gems through ads and therefore I’m forced to purchase more if I would like to continue. When I talk to customer service they tell me that the ads are through a third-party, and that there may not be any ads at the time for my area. However, other apps I’ve downloaded from this company that I have not made purchases in, I am still receiving ads for. So there are clearly ads available to me. I have been told to wait and hope that I receive ads one day, but otherwise I have not received any other help and the company has not reached out to the third party to solve the issue. I have been waiting for a month. Still nothing. So that’s cool. And sad, as I was enjoying the app. Unfortunately I will have to delete..Version: 1.16.5

✓ Won’t runTo start; I have an iphone 12 promax. So it’s not my phone. I have full bars of 5g, and I am having no connection issues with anything else, even steaming. So it’s not my connection. No matter how many times I close out and reopen the app, it only says that it must be connected online to play. I am. Literally no other app is having any issue with my internet. ✓ GlitchyA typical story app. It was going well until it starting glitching for me. I’ve played the advertisements loads of times and when the app reloads, the gems I earned from the ads disappear. The gems disappear and it that I still haven’t watched the ads. So I watch the ads again. And the same thing happened again. It happened multiple times. I’ve watched so many ads, just for the counter to reset and gems disappear. I hope I made sense. For now, I don’t feel safe making purchases here if the gems will disappear..Version: 1.16.5

✓ EXPENSIVE RomancesThis app has good stories and graphics. There are a couple Jane Austen stories in it as well, which are great. The problem is that it is too EXPENSIVE. It costs $4.99 for 25 diamonds. To answer one question it costs 25 diamonds. So, just to answer one question, it costs you $4.99. They don’t let you earn free diamonds either. Paying approximately $5 just to answer one question is ridiculous. This could be a really good app, but they need to offer a way to earn free diamonds and LOWER the cost for story selections..Version: 2.2.3
✓ Pay to playIt’s annoying how you have to pay to wear any of the cute outfits. There are limited free options and when you wear the free outfits the characters react negatively and say that you’re under-dressed or not well dressed. i wouldn’t care as much if it didn’t affect the story but it does. so basically you have more negative interactions and less fun game play if you don’t buy their in game currency. so lame..Version: 1.16.3

✓ Free gems gone after you watch all the ads and exit gameIf you are someone that gets frustrated from watching all the ads, receiving all the deserved gems only to come back online and see they are gone as soon as you close the game, I wouldn't recommend this game. I tried to get gems via watching ads, and every time after getting the gems and then exiting the game, the next time I log in? I saw all those gems gone. I'm an engineer myself and I am very sure it's a technical issue they should have responded and talked to their tech team. This bug has caused at least 24 times of watching their ads a waste of my time and I would like to have these diamonds back. It's like they want you to watch ads for nothing. Other than that, the stories are good and you don't have to choose the most expensive costumes to avoid being condescended to by other characters..Version: 2.1.1
✓ Needs moreThey recently moved all of their completed stories to their other app TABOU, still haven’t updated the ones we’ve been waiting on for MONTHS. They need to tell fans they’ve given up. LAME. Not enough content, takes too long to update stories, women must always be submissive…even in the game where you play a sex worker, you are forced to be submissive in both romances. Also in games where there is more than 1 love interest, don’t bother replaying - both romances are a copy and paste job. Exactly the same, even when their personalities are way different. Lazy writing. Oh, and when you complain about women always having to be submissive the customer support person says you should read the 2 games that don’t include sex. ✓ Expensive and very few booksNot only is the in app purchases expensive as they add up but there are like five books total. Two of the new books were uploaded unfinished. So customers read only to a certain point only to be told new chapters are coming and are still waiting. It’s been over a month and new chapters have still not been uploaded. ✓ EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!! DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS APP!!I love there Tabou app. It’s interactive & fun. It even allows you to create your own avatar and actually choose your personal avatar in each story. So I decided to checkout this “Love & Passion” app because I wanted the ability to read a couple of completed stories here that weren’t fully released in Tabou. So, I joined the club almost a month ago and their new stories that release weekly have yet to be updated with a new chapter. I even reached out for help TWICE… Just asking how frequently do they release a new chapter. To my surprise, their help department just straight up closed the help ticket. Didn’t even have the decency to answer my simple question at all; just closed the, after a couple days like I wasn’t a paying customer. So, at this point it really does feel as if the company is stealing money from their customers on this app. They should close this app completely and just stay focused on Tabou. ✓ Good Game - But Just Like All The RestThis game has good story lines and I like the uniqueness of adding classic Jane Austen stories into the mix. But, just like most games of this genre it’s pay or be reprimanded. I understand that developers have to make money. So I understand that for example, when you pick a dress, there has to be nice ones that cost money and basic ones that don’t. However, when picking a dress you only get one option unless you want to essentially pay to play. Then, if you don’t pay up some gems the characters in the story get mad at you and are literally disgusted saying things like “ugh you’re not wearing that are you?” Quite frankly that’s messed up. You are having characters in game making you feel bad about not spending money on micro transactions. Not that I necessarily think this game would break people’s bank but I just think it is a messed up precedent to be setting to literally make fun of and judge people who don’t spend money. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but idk games like this always make me mad because of this one feature. If I was left to just pick the free option and characters said nothing about it, I’d be fine. But they reprimand you for not paying and that really turns me and I feel a lot of people off of these games.
