RubbishTedious, free to play nonsense. Clearly a lot of talent in the team, but it’s pyrope linear garbage that constantly prompts you which button to press next to get some arbitrary currency that will inevitably become essential later on. Why does this IP always get the worst digital games ?.Version: 1.0.71

Fun but pay to winIf you like warhammer 40K stuff, it’s a fun game. The current factions are ultramarines, necrons, orks, and imperial guard. You slowly get character pieces to unlock more characters. But OF COURSE if you pay tons of money you can get the “special” characters, campaigns, and missions unlocked immediately. It’s fun for a few hours then becomes just a login once a day to get daily missions done. Typical mobile game with no real substance..Version: 1.0.20

Spend $30 to enjoy the game longer than 3 hours.Don’t let the positive ratings fool you. Most of them are from people who either invested less than 3 hours into the game or have spent a lot of money to make the playing experience enjoyable. It’s a typical free to play mobile game with a 40k skin. In order to progress in even the free story mode you’ll need to spend more than $30 to get the upgrades to your characters to even defeat basic missions. Story Missions become gated behind weaker characters causing you to have to use up previous upgrade materials to even progress into the free story mode. Only download if you’re looking to play something for a couple of hours. Do not spend any money on this unless you’re willing to spend increasing amounts just to progress..Version: 1.0.71

RepetitiveThis game gets boring very quickly and pay to win..Version: 1.0.13

Too RNG heavy, they don’t know/play 40KFun for about one hour. Then the pay to play wall hits. Not pay to win, PAY TO PLAY. Also most of your “daily battles” end up just seeing if a Flayed One resurrects 8 times in a row and kills all of your guys. Having unit self-res is tricky to balance; giving someone infinite respawns on hood rolls means that, oddly enough, the AI enemies get a lot of them! Which chews up your daily plays. Game looks good, but what else to say? It’s another pay to win monotization monster using the WH40k IP..Version: 1.0.13

Fun game, brutal grindWith about a week of this game under my belt, I can safely confirm that the core gameplay is super Duper fun. Warhammer is always an enjoyable world to play in. But the monetization is so brutal. If you are in it to win it and you don’t want to pay through the nose, brace yourself for a long haul. After the initial burst of freebies you hit the wall really hard and it gets real slow from there. So if you love Warhammer and tactics games, you will like this. But do not expect to unlock everything anytime soon. Buckle up for a long ride..Version: 1.0.20

Decent with a few issuesBefore I give my criticism I want to make it clear that this is a solid game. However, I personally think it was a very underwhelming launch. Not much to do, limited to a little over 100 stamina a day (can get more in beginning but slows down over time). The rewards are small, there is no incentive to push leadersboard in ranked. Most games on launch stock you up with stamina, but opening chests and completing missions give you around 6 stamina which is a joke. You log on for 5 min and then you’re pretty much done. Summons are hard to come but and you pretty much only get one every time you level up. Speaking of leveling up, takes too long as mentioned above because there’s not much you can do than 10 min a day. I think the prices are greedy. I’m someone who frequently spends money on the AppStore but $20 just to unlock extra mission? (mission can be unlocked for free with grinding so don’t worry). Prices for everything else are too much. $27 for 2900 black stone and you need 3000 for a 10x summon. That is….. discouraging. Overall, a little lacklustre but all in all a decent game with potential. There is a lot coming like guild war. Hope they focus on quality over quantity..Version: 1.0.71

Good so farI have played for a few hours now and the actual gameplay is good my only worry currently is as I get further in how much will the game slow down so giving the game a 3 for now if it doesn’t slow down to much then I am likely to say for a mobile game it’s worth your time.Version: 1.0.20

Gets repetitive fastEach battle is exactly the same, it never feels like you’re progressing or changing. Just the same grind over and over..Version: 1.0.20

Reskin but worsePlayed Rivengard (their other game) for months, so had high hopes when I saw this. It’s just a reskin (which could be fine) but it’s ugly in comparison with regards to the fonts and the character design. Deleted after 10 min..Version: 1.0.13

DisappointingI will never understand how a huge company with an amazing fan base and lore pouring out the wazzoo, continues to fail at making a half decent game. You waste the first 10 mins just having your hand held through every little button press, the combat is quick and meaningless. Ultimately I just feel fully aware of how much time I’m wasting and at no point am I immersed or even care about that happens on the screen. The strategy is akin too Rock Paper Scissors, the settings are cramped and ultimately just designed too be overly simplistic. It’s just another crap quick micro transaction game but with a warhammer 40k skin.Version: 1.0.20

A massive issue with keeping players.I think the game has a lot of potential. Certain stages are very difficult but satisfying when finally completed. The biggest issue with the game is the structure of the gatcha system. When you do a single pull, you can get orbs (for upgrading units), shards, or characters of common, uncommon, rare, or legendary rarity for one of the factions. The fact that you can pull legendary orbs without owning a single legendary unit feels like a slap in the face especially for how stingy the game is when it comes to giving you the option to summon without spending money. I could play this game for a full year and have a stock pile of legendary orbs with no units to use them on if rng dictates. Also for the cherry on top, can someone tell me why I can get legendary necron orbs when there is no legendary necron unit???? If you want to fix this issue then only allow legendary orbs to show up after you get a legendary unit for that faction. Otherwise you will see a lot of players delete the app after getting multiple legendary orb drops in a row. My last 3 legendary pulls were all orbs ;_;.Version: 1.0.20

Fun but with paywallsThis game is pretty enjoyable with good pve and pvp play. You can play against people live or against a computer version of their team. Getting three stars on challenges can be tuff. Biggest issues is the designer is so stingy that you loose interest. Takes 300 gems to get a gotcha pull that is most likely nothing. The time it takes to get the gems is ridiculous. Also to start new campaigns you need the three starter characters but unless you pay, these could take a very long time to get thus paywall. Unless you have some money to burn I would not recommend..Version: 1.0.71

Cool game, yet with the same F2P tacticsIt’s a 40k tactical game. The F2P aspect takes a little while to show it’s dark side, running the typical difficulty spike and expecting you to drop real money to continue making progress as you were before. There is a free method of getting stronger, but with abysmal gachi odds and a lovely 12h cooldown, plus hiding it within menus and not explicitly explaining how it works. If you are willing to drop real money on it, it will seem a bit too easy, since you can just buy upgrades. There’s a PVP mode as well, so that’s just P2W..Version: 1.0.71

PaywallFun to start. Everything is too easy until you hit a massive paywall where you can’t upgrade characters or equipment in rarity without the right resources while the campaign battles suddenly scale massively. Pretty minimal tactical strategy. Win any arena fight by simply waiting the first turn. Cool visuals, fun concept, very poorly balanced. Random loot crates for basic progression is a bad model. Should be reserved for elite models/characters/equipment..Version: 1.0.13

Localisation issueMany words are blank in Chinese localization.Version: 1.0.13

Same horrible developer as Rivengard, could be greatThey need to add a 0 to all gem rewards. You currently get 2-6 gems per achievement. It would take an average of 100 achievements to get a single character roll after you get through the beginner rewards. If you got 20-60 gems per achievement the game would be pretty good. 5 or so achievements you could do one character roll or a couple of energy refreshes. It is a good game with horrible horrible greedy developers..Version: 1.0.13

Potential but PaywallIt’s actually pretty fun gameplay wise but like everything in the GW world it’s stupidly overpriced. The black stones are far too infrequent for a gacha game, need way more frequent free summons to keep it interesting. Ps. we need TAU it’s a great game for TAU faction..Version: 1.0.13

What you’d expect.Looks good, great graphics and authentic feel. Can imagine it will get boring quick and the cost of buying some of the packs is mad. No way will I be spending that kind of money..Version: 1.0.13

Looks great but a bit boring.I’m 18 battles in and it’s very easy so far, not much real tactics involved, getting a bit bored tbh. Upgrade packs are insanely expensive..Version: 1.0.13

Connection issues.Gameplay is good. Would rather an option to just pay an upfront cost to permanently remove the “energy” wall to playing, but that’s mobile gaming I guess. Main issue is the game seems to think I’m not connected to the internet when I most certainly am. Both wifi and mobile data..Version: 1.0.13

Ip5se not play gameIp5se not play game.Version: 1.0.13

Avoid the shopAvoid spending money on this. The game plays okay, but with 14/40 I thought why not support them and pick up a bundle with a guaranteed hero in it. Three double ups in a row. Not worth putting money into..Version: 1.0.20

Typical P2W with a nice sheenThe good news is that the game is well made and seems devoid of bugs. Since this is their third time making the exact same game (seriously, go look at their other games), we get the benefit of a mostly perfected app. The game (any of the three versions) starts out pretty fun too. The bad news is that it goes downhill pretty quickly. I’ve played for less than 24 hours, and I’ve had no less than 17 bundles offered to me. Each of these is “very limited (or only 1 in stock!)” with “800% value” or more, and they all have a timer (normally 1-3 hours). So, they are really trying to hit those FOMO individuals. Play the game as long as you find it entertaining. But, please, do not spend more than $5 here (or whatever you consider the app to be worth, to you). If I had purchased all of the bundles offered to me IN ONE DAY, I would have already spent over $230. Buyer Beware..Version: 1.0.13

As stingy a game as you’ll ever findUpdate: Even worse! You’re actively penalized for using your starter units in the first even! Not all of them at once, but there are multiple instances of hard fights that you’ll be unable to max the rewards from(which you’ll need to do for the event chest) unless you’ve spent money to buy more characters. For a game that locks content behind the ability to pull multiple specific characters, they hand out the resources to summon like it costs them a pint of blood each time. This is made so much worse by their use of shard system. This game is looking to be massively unfriendly for f2p players, and for individuals looking to spend less than $20 a month. All that said, you’ll likely get a few days of fun out of it, the gameplay is actually enjoyable, just limited unless you’re will to spend quite a bit..Version: 1.0.13

Not f2p, by farFor a character to gain the benefits of leveling up, they need "badges". You can farm enough of those to level one guy every twelve hours. But wait, the number of badges needed for leveling increases, so soon enough it's one levelup in 24 hrs, then 36, et cetera. To increase the rarity of a character, you need "orbs". Those are NOT FARMABLE. You RNG them out of lootboxes. And hey, what's the magical solution to those bottlenecks? That's right, real money! That means, once you're hooked enough, and your team levels past a certain point, your progression stops for good, and you either pay to play, or go away. Not sure why such a dumb f2p model was adopted here. It's definitely gonna lose them one player - me, - soon enough, and hopefully, more..Version: 1.1.3

Meh.This game is okay. It looks really good but the “free to play” model pretty quickly loses its allure as the levels become really hard without leveling up. $30 per expansion (although one is one sale for $20) is very steep for a mobile game. Pathing is a little awkward. You have to move first then attack. If you select a unit to attack an enemy then your unit will put himself as close to the enemy as possible out in the open, even if it means moving further than necessary to engage. To me it seems pretty clearly designed that way to make you burn through replay tokens. Overall, it’s a well polished game that is designed to make money a little *too* much..Version: 1.0.20

Cash grabAt first resources are plentiful, then after about three days everything is gated behind insanely long and costly grinds. This game is a cash cow with a shiny veneer that distracts newer players, it takes over a week to get a ten character pull after the first day or two, which won’t give you a new character, (unless you have the luck of the devil), or most likely even an upgrade and if it does, orb farming will stop you from ranking that character up for a month anyway. Don’t be fooled, run, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars to even compete… Cheating happens in pvp too, have fun with that..Version: 1.0.71

Ok game but not for warhammer FanTutorial is way to long, it’s 2022 we know how to play games. It’s long and boring. Also we are obligated to start as Ultramarine, the poster boy and it’s annoying. I stop playing just because of that.Version: 1.0.20

Not badI enjoyed this but got stuck on level 53 after cruising through the other levels, and uninstalled..Version: 1.0.13

TacticusGood game so far. Upgrades and items is a little overwhelming. There is just so much going on at once. A tutorial would be good also..Version: 1.0.20

Unplayable without micro transactionsThey’ve made a nice 40k game, looks great. The issue is it is far too micro transaction heavy. You cannot play and progress this game without spending a LOT of money on it - Far more than buying the latest AAA title. The developer has unrealistic and unfair revenue expectations as this currently stands. Please decrease the limitations, play\battle refreshes, and allow people to play more of the game..Version: 1.0.71

Pay or looseLike game but the cheat / cheese factor of ( if you want to win “ buck up”. Just saying “ a little more fairness for your costumers and less greed (pay or no advance for you !) “Just show a little luv and you’ll get paid in the end anyway 👌.Version: 1.0.71

Better than most, actually fun, but still too restricted behind pay wallsAn actually fun free tactical 40K game, gameplay feels fun, it’s still a grind them up type game tho. Characters have to be grinds for power eventually all the skill in the world won’t beat just a bigger damage and health number To play as anyone other than space marines takes ages and costs up to $40 CAN That’s ridiculous, you know what you can buy for $40? Real video games, expensive dinners, actual 40K models. This is obviously just a big ad for the model game, so playing as the factions like Black Templars or orks should not cost $40.Version: 1.0.20

Shameless copy of rivengardNot that the game is bad by itself but it is an exact copy of an already existing game called rivengard. The menu, the store, the levels, game mechanics,etc.. everything is the same except for the characters. Total lack of imagination..Version: 1.0.13

Looks gorgeous and plays well. But 100% Pay To WinThe game looks great and with added factions and races being added in future I’m sure it’ll be even more amazing warhammer content to look at…. But that’s all it is, something to look at. The game has very high purchase rates and very low drop rates for any progression. Even when it comes to buying your progression it is vastly expensive even compared to other games. A monthly subscription doesn’t even get you a single 10 pull after 30 days. The game is entirely 100% pay to win, which in that case you are done and there’s zero fun or struggle to the game. It’s a real shame as this game is amazing to look at and would be incredibly fun to play but it’s agonizingly slow to progress even if you were to pay the extreme costs. No good in game rewards for completing quests, no gift codes system. Everything including 3/4 of the campaign is behind their pay walls. So unfortunately at this time I can only give 2 stars based solely on the visuals and gameplay. This takes the cake for gamesworkshop gouging to the next level. Shame on the company and creators. Until it’s all fixed to a reasonable level I’d stay stay away unless you are a whale above whales, even then you may be asking yourself what a waste of money for Zero return..Version: 1.0.71

ReviewAfter a couple of weeks of play rewards have pretty much stopped. It takes days of play to get a single requisition (which you need ten of to get a guaranteed character) and even after saving up you are than likely going to only get a few shards for a character you already have. The “premium” currency is also a drip pace getting a few at a time when you need 3000 for a chance at a character. Hands down the least f2p gacha game I’ve played. To the actual game itself there are bugs and crashes are pretty constant even costing you mission attempts. Trying to decipher what the terrain actually is and how it affects the game is a pain. The graphics are good though….Version: 1.0.71

Good but BadReally enjoyable game, very subtle tactics that encourage good thinking. So for gameplay I would give it 4 stars. However after a few hours I hit the pay/time wall and basically could only do one or two missions at a time. Should be noted that I’m not someone interested in PVP or guilds, so I don’t know whether this aspect would circumvent the paywall loop I’m stuck in. Also in campaign the scarab swarms are way to OP.Version: 1.0.20

Repetitive if you aren’t pay to winThe game looks and plays well at a base level. You lost me when I had to replay old missions over and over again just to unlock the next level of gear..Version: 1.1.3

Greed undermines a good gameGood game, awful monetization, waaaaay too greedy. I would love to have a 15 dollar all characters unlocked version just to be able to play it. Perhaps then they could dlc other factions, but no, they had to go the random lootboxes way. And forcing space marines, ultramarines no less, down your throat. Paid content is stupid expensive, costing as much as an entire AAA title for an worths of content. I would revisit the game if they revamp the progression and monetization. Unless you are whale, stay away. Its sad, because production and gameplay are solid. Another 40k title ruined by greedy developers..Version: 1.0.20

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Expect to play the game for a little while until the campaign gets impossibly hard and every other game mode is locked behind 100$ paywalls that are 70% off equating to them only being 30$, at least while they are on sale (although I expect they will always be “70% off”…) It was fun while it lasted but if you want to play the game regularly it looks clear that you will have to spend potentially hundreds of dollars to have full access to the game..Version: 1.1.3

Good Game harsh monetizationGame hits a few difficulty spikes campaigns are locked behind a paywall prices are pretty high for an energy based gotcha. Gameplay is solid but just buy an actual 40k game on pc or something. These guys make EA look like a charity….Version: 1.0.20

Weak Multiplayer with OK gameplaySome units can spawn multiple units. This makes the async and real time PVP battles simply unfun and annoying. Very little tactics and melee seem to have too much health to deal with much of the time. It’s an ok game otherwise. Ridiculous prices for “special” bundles, the typical click the next number battle and try to win with 3 stars, grind stages our to get character upgrade shard that you need a lot of. I can’t see myself actually spending money on this game, but it is nice that the actual battles are usually under a minute so the game is nice to pick up and play for a few minutes..Version: 1.0.71

Meh but hopefulI’ve played this exact game numerous times without the WH40k flavor. They’re all the same. I’m a huge 40k fan so I gave this one a go. Hit the same exact hard progress wall as all the others at less than a day in. Will keep playing for a few more days but I’m not spending or super hopeful. 4+ stars for visuals 4 stars for 40k (zero lore truthfully) 4 stars for ease of play 0 stars for originality 1 star for purchases (surprise surprise, the medallions you need to rank up characters are only in the huge bundles) 1 star for extreme disappointment at seeing Black Templars and not being able to touch them Meh..Version: 1.0.20

Polished looking but easy and repetitiveThe game looks and plays well. Feels like a Warhammer game. But it's too easy - there's no real strategic challenge, and like most free games, too many rewards to make your heroes powerful. What's worse is with all the differently named game modes, the actual gameplay in each is nearly identical. So it all becomes very repetitive quickly. Maybe if I held out longer, it would eventually get more challenging, but it's just not really that worth it to essentially grind your way there..Version: 1.0.13

NopeAdmittedly, the game initially comes across as really great: enemies fall easy, troops improve constantly, etc. Then comes the paywall: enemies increase at a far greater rate than heros can, unless you bleed cash. Not to mention the rediculous price of 40$ to unlock other campaigns. Games Workshop always seems to attract developers with the same “bleed ‘em dry” approach to business. There are better things on which to spend the amount of cash they want to squeeze out of you. Looks pretty, but ultimately not worth the time..Version: 1.0.13

ReviewGame is fine, in game purchases are offside.Version: 1.0.20

Dont feed into the hypeThis game will have you thinking that this is the best turn based mobile game out there for the first few hours. Then you really dive into it, and you quickly find out this is the biggest cash grab warhammer 40k game out there… progression is incredibly slow with characters…. You 100% need to spend at least $200 to even feel anything for this game passed 3 hours of playtime…and thats facts !!.Version: 1.0.71
