TerraGenesis: Landfall for Negative User Reviews

Ok but.....It starts ok during the tutorial stage but then it really slows down to an unplayable level unless you buy gems to speed up the processes and explorations. I hate games like this. 😡 Yes, you can watch ads to get a couple of free gems or a very small amount of free cash. Just worth it! Time to delete this money hungry game..Version: 2.4

Poor game, doesn’t deserve terragenesis title.A really poor game, not worthy of the original terragenesis title where there was some real science involved. This is just a hack of other idle games. I get the gameplay; cool. But the timers that constantly reset your progress and the weird random things designed to destroy your strategy and get you to buy credits is lame. The gameplay is not complex, but excessively detailed with too many variables and materials. It’s weird, arbitrary, lazy game design..Version: 2.3

It seems goodI’ve played and likes their other game, simply named “Terragenesis,” so I might be biased, but I just finished the tutorial, and this seems fun, you do have a premium currency, and buildings do take time, but I can understand that, because they aren’t a big company and need money too, and it actually seems like a resource management game, that has interesting building and obtaining of resources, like how you need to make crops into food, or refine ore into different materials, and how you can set when your people will stop mining and such by setting a minimum amount of ore you want at any one time, which I like. I recommend trying and playing this game..Version: 2.2

Glitchy AFI’ve never played a game that’s so glitchy in my entire life. I haven’t even able to play it in two weeks because every time I start the game it crashes within two seconds. There’s no customer support at all either. potentially a good game and I might actually spend money on it if it actually worked..Version: 2.4

Good and entertainingThe game is interesting and everything a Mars colony game should be, although there are some bugs the game is definitely worth playing.Version: 2.2

So closeReal glitchy.keep losing progress. Still Gave you my 7$ anyways even though I was severely frustrated.Keep working on it, will be a great game.Version: 1.7

Bad game setupI give this 1 star due to the lack of playability of the game. It needs fixed and I deleting it just because of this. The rest of the game is ok, nice to build and but ever 3-5 mins there is a repair needed or a person dies in accident. It’s just to much and drives to game to a single star play level..Version: 2.8

Strong pass on this one.One just has to look at the cost of units and builds upwards to $120 per item and you will be deleting this game. Haven’t convinced you, the gui and game play feels is from the 90’s and to top it off, it feels like your brothers kid made it..Version: 2.92

Reduce negative event occurrenceGuys, you have to reduce the frequency of negative in-game events. It’s absolutely ridiculous! 3 dead settlers and 2 facilities broken in less than an hour and a half. I’m spending money on the game and I STILL CANT KEEP UP! I’m not spending another cent until you fix this. Not one more penny. You all have had these types of reviews for a LONG time. It’s one of the reasons that I waited till now to try to play the game. Every one was correct. This game could be great! I love your other games. So fix this and you’ll have loyal customers rather than people writing bad reviews.Version: 2.92

New Update Ruined ItI really enjoyed this game until the Administration update. I keep trying to play because of how much I enjoyed it before this update, but almost every time I open it I am just further frustrated by the features of this new update. Each new location already had its own unique challenges which kept it fun and interesting. The new Admin challenges are just a waste of time and resources when establishing new settlements, and a lot of the challenges will railroad an established and developed settlement into failures. Administration challenges should optional..Version: 2.8

Ads Ads and More AdsDon’t get me wrong, this game has promise but in order to get anywhere you need to watch a stupid amount of ads to gain in game game credits. In fact you will spend more time watching ads than actually playing the game..Version: 2.92

Too hardPlayed for the last few days and had to restart my facility 5x times. I follow the challenges (as usually in a game this leads you in the right direction when using resources and becoming self-sufficient) but disasters keep happening (humans dying/equipment breaking down) at such regular intervals which almost instantly wipe out your facility with no way of recovering unless you spend actual money. Great game when it allows you to progress. Real shame and have removed the app now to spend my time on other games that aren’t as frustrating..Version: 2.3

Fun, but nerve wracking so many unlucky eventsFinished the first scenario, built a large city. Game got super laggy at this point. The first scenario i had to restart the game a few times. Started the second scenario The Storm, oh man did you ratchet up the difficulty level by a factor of 10, calamity after calamity. Zapping your resources quickly, im on 4th restart but the unlucky events keep coming. Im ready to rage quit. Spent $10 bucks and the unhappy settlers keep stealing from me. So tell me what are these settlers doing with repair kits? They arent applying them to the city? So they steal the repair kits and the oxygenator fails and everyone dies from lack of oxygen. What are they doing with the other materials they steal? Food and water i can imagine stealing. I want space jail or the ability to kick them out of the airlock. Than the mining shuttles blow up or crew dies, yeah its really frustrating. Going to take a break and come back and restart again. Many bugs in this game, buttons are small or overlapping forcing to use the speedups by accident. Crafting is lop sided, repair kits and chips, someone else mentioned. Trying to pause production doesnt seem to work..Version: 2.4

Bug IssuesLots of bugs but it is a Beta. When you go to watch a video it crashes in the first 5 seconds and the whole game turns off and you go back to its last save which is super annoying.Version: 2.3

Seemed good…Everything was going well with this game until, well, it wasn’t. I’m still in the tutorial portion of the game where it’s forcing me to accomplish certain tasks. I must’ve done something out of order, because it’s asking me to build a command center, but I already have one. So it just gets stuck, and I can’t do anything. I deleted from my phone, thinking that deleted my game data. I reinstalled it on my iPad, but the data is still there keeping me stuck. I would’ve reported this, but couldn’t figure out how to contact developers easily. I went this route because they seem to respond to feedback. I’ll reassess pending a work around..Version: 2.4

Game stops workingJust done the tutorial, then game goes to “must now build a command centre” that’s already done, when you try to build another it says “only one centre allowed per city” game then freezes and nothing works. No response from support Facebook page shows many others with the same issue but issue is not being resolved. I was beginning to like this game, now I cant use it at all, uninstall and re install, game centre just goes back to where you left off, working better now but costs too much to achieve anything, only way to get on and keep going is to pay, spoils the experience.Version: 2.3

Bad game design 75I cant play for 5 seconds or else and engineer will slip there finger and destroy half the settlement.Version: 2.4

Game constantly crashes.Frustrating and constant crashing spoils what would be an otherwise decent game. It has just crashed three times in less than a minute needing a restart every time. I know it’s in Beta so hopefully things will improve but for me, at the moment at least, the game is unplayable. After each crash the game rewinds and progress is lost. When it does work it is very addictive and draws you into the intricate planning needed to keep your settlement healthy and active. Love the dark and foreboding atmosphere. Hope you can get the bugs and crashes fixed because I am a fan of the game and if it weren’t for the issues it would have been a 5 star review..Version: 2.6

TerraGenesis-LandfallWhat a rubbish game! Get as far as completing all the build-requirements and suddenly discover you’ve come to the of your game and must suddenly purchase 100,000 “credits” to “buy” an algae farm being sent by rocket from off Mars?? No warning, no preliminary preparation, just follow “blindly” and ???? You’re finished. “Good experience my friend.🤓😎.Version: 2.2

Not Playable At Current StateThis game is something I've been looking for, but unfortunately it's quite honestly unplayable at its current state. The game constantly forces you to restart due to its plethora of unlucky events at you, these events can span from a minor power outage to a critical oxygen plant failure. How do you fix this events? By sending your rocket all the way back to earth to get a repair kit, if you're lucky. You might be able to save you colony, but if not, you need to restart. These repair kits are one of the biggest issues, they are expensive and extremely hard to get (let alone keep). The expensive part wouldn't be too bad if the game didn't force you to spend all your credits at the start of the game, you are basically living off small scraps of credits from advertisements for most of your start, but as soon as you make a little stash of money, a catastrophic event hits forcing you to spend it all for a repair kit or some other stupid reason. This game basically never gives you any rewards and keeps you begging for more scraps, that is of course if you don't purchase premium currency or more credits. This game is a waste of time and it's aggravating, wouldn't recommend downloading it at its current state, as it basically forces you to whip out your wallet in order to progress. Note: I found this review and it captures my feedback exactly. Pasted it here for awareness..Version: 2.4

Concept goodThe free version seems to glitch alot but I absolutely love the concept.Version: 2.92

Bugs on MarsThe game is quite challenging and has some nice touches. Yet I’m experiencing the same problem as a lot of users. The game is stuck in the tutorial loop. Asking you to build a command centre when it’s already built. There is no way of skipping it, no way of repairing the game when it’s loading, uninstalling doesn’t wipe the game file and when you email support you get no response. I was hoping the latest update would fix the issue but sadly it did not. I would give the game a better rating but the poor response from the devs and the same issue being seen by multiple players, I’m gonna have to give it a low score.Version: 2.4

Could be fun in the future, but needs work firstI like the original TerraGenesis quite a lot, but I’ll likely stop playing this game until it is a little more developed. The UI buttons on mobil are often too small to click correctly. It’s unclear from the research descriptions what the result of the research will be and how it will be helpful. My biggest issue is with the random negative events which need to be balanced much better. I have twice had random events happen to my command center in the first 10 minutes which made the city unplayable. There is a big difference between a challenging game and an arbitrarily unplayable one and Landfall hasn’t hit the right balance yet..Version: 2.3

Don’t waste your timeDoesn’t even deserve one star. Game startup has too many detrimental incidents to get off the ground. Not free to play by any means if you want to get anywhere.👎🏽.Version: 2.4

TanisGame ok yet does seem low on credits to start off and some screens you cannot leave without exiting the game it seems.Version: 2.92

It's okay until you finish MarsI finished all 3 of the campaigns on Mars and expected to be able to unlock the moon or mercury next. Nope; you have to pay $5 per additional world that you want to play on. It would be different if you could use gp to buy them, because you can at least watch ads to get gp and I never used gp much. But honestly, once you've experienced the game in Mars, you've experienced the game in its entirety. The additional worlds you could unlock only change maybe one thing and add one additional building exclusive to that world. You have the option to reset your settlement, and attempt to rebuild it much more organized than when you first started. Or you can just continue to needlessly expand the settlement you already have. You can also just buy up to 5 rockets and upgrade them all to level 10. But there's ultimately nothing you can do once the game is beat, which is extremely unfortunate. Plus there's no sense of real grand progression outside of the 3rd scenario, "sword of Mars". At least in the original Terragenesis it was extremely fun to watch the worlds you control change and transform with the changes you made in buildings and research. I still play the original game after 3 years because I love it that much. But this game only had my attention for 2 weeks. Not bad for a free game but definitely not something that will actually awe you like the original..Version: 2.4

Looks cool but won’t runBuilt my command centre and laboratory. Tells me I need engineers, but the game freezes. Force quit gets me nowhere. Reinstalled, still negative results..Version: 2.3

I want to love the game more but…It’s a really awesome game! It is a little confusing. It’s just something goes wrong every 30mins, it’s really annoying. I hate how the only way to get money is to watch ads or buy them. What makes it worse is that you’d have to watch like 19 ads to get enough money to do some of the simplest upgrades (I did the math) you only get 3,000 per ad and some of the things costs 50k! And I’m always low on supplies or someone always dies. It’s so annoying! What would make it better is if you could get a mine or have your settlers make the money somehow, like in TerraGenesis. And something else I’d like is if we could upgrade buildings in addition to buying more. And please stop making things go wrong/people dying..Version: 2.9

Wanted to loveGreat concept, and loved the planet terraforming offer from the same team. Sadly this game crashed on day two and has been reporting a fatal error ever since. Oh well. Delete time for this one..Version: 2.92

Don't play it's not worth your timePlay this game for better part of the day and I had to restart three times because every time you think you're getting somewhereA building breaks or another settlement steal something the only way you can play this game is if you pay I already wasted £10 on this game in the end I had to delete it because it will drain your money and doesn't end up being fun at all terrible game do not play !!!!.Version: 2.2

I like this game but bugsI really like this game but there’s so many bugs at the moments with gameplay, it’s basically frozen I can’t advance..Version: 2.4

So promising but hard to figure out what to doThe game started with a tutorial that led you through some things step by step. From there you’re left to your own to build.. which I found really fun until the credits started drying up with no way to make more.. There needs to be some way, in game, that I can click on the credits and press a ? Or something that gives me clues on how I can make credits, or click on a product I want the factory to make and you can request more information on the infrastructure needed to make those items in your factory. It’s just very hard to work out and unplayable after about 30mins. I can’t figure out how to play the game which is frustrating. There needs to be perpetual help not just a tutorial..Version: 2.2

👎🏻Ad’s don’t work at all. None of the actual problems make any sense. I don’t see how “disgruntled settlers” could continuously steal my mining shuttles. Power, food, and oxygen generators all work fine until out of nowhere your entire system shuts down and kills all of your settlers for no reason. I’ve restarted the game twice, and every time, it loads back into the original game. And that’s all even if the game works properly. Constantly losing progress and currency out of the blue. This had the potential to be a great game, but you can see a huge lack of effort in the gameplay and game mechanics..Version: 1.7

Colony gamePretty good game so far. The UI needs a little tweaking (sometimes you can’t click out of the building menus and have to get out of the game completely before reloading g and continuing). I’m new to the game so far, but would like to see more accessible mining options (they might be there, I just haven’t gotten that far yet). It’s been fun building my own colony. Looking forward to updates as well as more worlds to build on. Two of my biggest issues are, mines that are depleted don’t disappear, nor is there currently a way to delete them from the mining screen. My other issue is a lack of “building a security force” to prevent the frequent “thefts by disgruntled settlers” or even in helping to prevent the terrorist bombings/murders by the so called “Sons of Mars”..Version: 2.4

Stuck in a loopThe tutorial is stuck in an endless loop making the game un playable. Would be a really good game if this bug was fixed..Version: 2.4

Total potential this game has, if you fix.I play these games. I’m good at them. I have patience and God willing, time. I am a mad grinder and I’ve come back too this game a few times and always leave. I will tell you why.. The first thing I recommend as a gamer of about 50 years is that you create a system of payloads that shuttle their way to mars to drop off certain basic fundamentals. Steel, workers, engineers etc. it’s way too easy to lose all production, deaths of workers and it stale mates the game. Some corporate interaction from earth and the help it could bring would save this game. It’s a simple fix. To have a certain type of involvement that keeps things running while ones away from their phone would be of great help. The next level of gaming is going to come from games that play and advance on there own when said player is away. You grow infinitely in said game where you can escape and get away.. live in said game..Version: 2.92

Need to make some changesLet me start by saying that it’s a good game. I do have a bit of advice. You will use your brain to build in this game. You really have to plan out what you are going to do and the placement of the building’s. It’s like it would be in real life if on Mars. However I have PROS and CONS. PROS: You can make the layout any way you wish. You can choose what you wish to research as long as you meet the requirements for it. You can get the credits and the GP by watching the ads but you don’t have the obligation to watch them. The tutorial is helpful but as part of the CONS it’s a little redundant. Making you do it again when you start a new game. CONS: One major CON is the AI. The events in which you have your settlers start falling and you can’t replace quickly enough. Some of the building cost is high at first and you don’t have enough time to get resources before the “ disgruntled employees” event hits. Not enough tutorial for how to make your settlers happy. IMPROVEMENTS: Should be able to have closer first mining sites for the rovers. Have more ways to make in-game currency. Another words be able to sell your resources if need be. Have the ability to turn off the tutorial if you have already done it. Have the tutorial help you until you place the Trade Hub. Fix the AI on the randomness of the employees getting hart. Have the ability to help the injured employees with an infirmary. Other than the PROS and CONS and improvements. The game overall is good..Version: 2.6

Pay to play design.Within 30 seconds of finishing the tutorial, had an event that shut down my entire base and forced me to spend what little premium currency I had to try to get repair kits. And the game helpfully crashes whenever I tried to watch an ad to get more..Version: 1.7

They stopped me playing, literally just killed my game. This last update has killed everyone on all my maps. This is ridiculous. Just delete my account and block me from playing it if that’s what your aim is, because I can’t play a game that updates itself and then all of a sudden starts losing all the power, all the oxygen, all the water, all the food and I just sit there unable to do anything with it whilst it falls off a cliff. Thank god I didn’t spend any money on this. It’s a shame I can’t use the words to describe this game and the tools that develop it. Literally couldn’t have done it any worse. Even if the game crashed it’d save where it was up to. Weeks of my life wasted on this thank you very much..Version: 2.6

Great conceptGreat idea and has the potential to be a really good game. However, like most games you having to constantly watch advertisements to make coins to progress..Version: 2.4

Potentially good but frustratingly difficultLooked interesting, liked the development aspects, but it is far too slow and difficult. Everything breaks down frequently, exploration very slow and it is just too hard right from the start..Version: 2.4

Fun but there are major problems…This game is something I’ve been looking for, but unfortunately it’s quite honestly unplayable at its current state. The game constantly forces you to restart due to its plethora of unlucky events at you, these events can span from a minor power outage to a critical oxygen plant failure. How do you fix this events? By sending your rocket all the way back to earth to get a repair kit, if you’re lucky. You might be able to save you colony, but if not, you need to restart. These repair kits are one of the biggest issues, they are expensive and extremely hard to get (let alone keep). The expensive part wouldn’t be too bad if the game didn’t force you to spend all your credits at the start of the game, you are basically living off small scraps of credits from advertisements for most of your start, but as soon as you make a little stash of money, a catastrophic event hits forcing you to spend it all for a repair kit or some other stupid reason. This game is a waste of time and it’s aggravating, wouldn’t recommend downloading it at its current state, as it basically forces you to whip out your wallet in order to progress..Version: 2.4

Stops workingLike the last person who reviewed, I have done the tutorial, started to build my base and it just stopped/ froze. It then kept on telling me to build a star base which I build and then it also kept on telling me to build an control room which I have already done so. I have tried to wipe this game off my iPad and renew, this also didn’t work, it just went back to what I have already done and wouldn’t let me do a restart. For me to play this game again it would need a major upgrade. I hope it does, I enjoyed the parts I had played by then..Version: 2.3

Potential but…Game has potential but as soon as you finish the tutorial it asks you to build a command centre which is already done. Means you can’t move forward.Version: 2.6

Great Game….When it WorksGame continues to crash. Sometimes right at the load screen, sometimes a few min into the game. The times I’ve been able to keep it going it’s been a fun little distraction..Version: 1.9

Just crashes.Played happily for a few hours. Get to second mission building the space elevator on mars. Game has glitches showing missing employees when facilities are fully staffed. Now just crashes before I can even get to the “customer support” option. Very disappointed..Version: 2.4

Want to love itI really wanted to love this game, but it's not even enjoyable after the first few hours. As pretty much everyone else pointed out, scales tip against you way too fast because of all of the disruptions that kill your people faster than you can try to remedy the issue. Game tries to push you waaaay too fast into creating new settlements before you even get a full grasp on your first settlement. And like with most of these styles games, theyre pushing you towards making in app purchases which are at exorbitant costs that should not be allowed for what the game really is. Dev, You have a good game here, but you're trying too hard to monetize. Bet more people would play and even be willing to pay if you reconsidered the gameplay dynamics. Bet you're already making plenty off ads, let the people enjoy your game. It will speak for itself..Version: 2.4

Crashes after video ..Too many crashes and glitchs.Version: 2.4

Game crashesCrashes every time I switch back to the first planet.Version: 1.5

Pay to progressStarts off great but very quickly you realize real money is to be spent if you want to progress..Version: 2.92

A real struggle to play.TerraGenesis Landfall seems to have a lot of promise, but it just hasn’t been properly thought through. There are so many problems that they strangle the enjoyment. But the problems are solvable, and hopefully the developer will eventually fix them. The biggest issues are excessive fatalities, early-game collapses due to overpowered random events, the lack of full-time renewable power despite the tech already existing on Earth, no ability to reposition buildings, the annoying and irrelevant town-hall tasks, and the glaring omission of a pause button. My suggestions for solutions are: a medical facility to reduce casualties, a reworking of certain random events to prevent excessive impact on small settlements, an upgrade to solar generators (e.g. solar thermal) to spread their output evenly through the daily cycle, a customisation mode that allows players to rearrange buildings in a settlement, and an option to turn off town-hall requests. And I beg the developers to allow players to protect their settlements by pausing progress - please, this game needs a pause button!.Version: 2.92

Help!Awesome looking game and mechanics but im glitched in the tutorial and it wont let me access any menu's "until i finish the tutorial" which i can't as its glitched.. is there any chance i can have my game reset somehow and start new game?.Version: 2.8

Almost greatI was really enjoying this game, doing a little on it every now and then. Nice graphics, gameplay and menus. Then some crisis happened on the moon game and nothing I did could get the oxygen going again. Everyone died. Gone off it now. Shame..Version: 2.91

Can’t pause productionGame is alright. It’s nearly impossible to pause production of anything without “accidentally” tapping and spending your Genesis Points. Contacted support but never got a reply back..Version: 2.3

So so with questionable issues.Edit: after playing more on stage two there are so many problems and bugs in this game its not worth it and im changing my score. Interface and navigation is just bad when you have a large colony. The explore screen will never get rid of exhausted mines so they clutter up the map to make it even more unreadable. Tech from the second level on only have generic descriptions. It doesnt tell you what it does so you have to guess entirely on their names. My rovers keep multiplying out of control theres over a dozen of them with a new one spawning each time i send one out. My colonists are at zero happiness despite plenty of room, gyms, arcades and drugs and theres nothing to tell me why theyre so unhappy. Research time keeps exponentially ramping up now it takes hours to research and build anything at all. People keep stealing 100s of goods at a time. Export quests are undoable because they want 10x more things than i can stock. This game seemed alright after the first level but the second one is a complete disaster showing how underbaked everything beyond the start is. Original review: First town went off okay. Seemed promising enough for a town builder game. Issues creep up on the second base though: The building rotation controls are horrible and small on a phone. Use buttons or two finger rotation pleaee! Theres a horrible audio error playing a continuous click in mars area 2. Colonists have stolen all my steel and two mining shuttles and tons of copper. It’s ridiculous. Your research doesnt carry over at all so youve go to redo all the tedious research all over again. Theres so many small issues everywhere and it kind of piles up into a big mess..Version: 2.4

Great conceptI love the concept, and it’s even renewed my interest in the original game. I do have some disagreements with it though. First, random events about “freak accidents” happen so often, I intentionally do not leave the game open too long just in case they happen. If you’re going to kill 5 people and make the game ridiculously difficult, could you at least come up with a creative explanation for what, exactly, happened? Second, “disgruntled settlers” keep stealing stuff. Stuff that’s essential for the survival of themselves AND their colleagues. We’re not talking about stealing the office stapler, we’re talking half the supply of repair kits. Aside from how STUPID that would be, where are they going to run? They’re trapped on MARS, for goodness sake. You wanna suffocate because you stole the one thing that could have repaired the oxygen generators and the crew weren’t smart enough to just turn you in? I don’t understand the logic behind this feature….Version: 2.4

Too man random eventsSeems as soon as tutorial ends you just get one random event after another. Nothing you can do to avoid them and have to spend credits on replacing lost workers, you’re struggling to get your base up and running..Version: 2.92

Tutorial glitchI cannot get through the tutorial. On my iPad Pro it becomes so slow that I cannot wait for the dialog to change or the next activity to finish. Like the concept, but haven’t been able to play the game at all. Three days trying this week. I finally got through and built a station with support and was rewarded with a new place to build another station complex. The game was building things that were not ordered. Even when the game said what to build it built something else. Solar arrays were in the shape of a building with a roof on it. Many other glitches and shutdowns as I played. I was on an iPad Pro. Decided to give up on it after several hours over two days and several restarts..Version: 2.92

Crash landing watching AdvertisementDon’t bother, forever crashes while watching adverts, dont spend money you’ll lose it with the crashes. Could be good if they sort out quickly.Version: 2.4

Play balance neededSo: I love the concept. Building, adverse events, planning the growth path. But it also needs to be fun. And the speed at which things fail, and completely collapse before you can even have time to react, is ridiculous. I’ll turn it on, and if something has happened that there is a crisis, population will be dying before I can even diagnose it. And I can’t diagnose because when I click a building, or another one, the camera zooms me around and loses where I was. I can’t get a list of buildings to see what is working or not, I can’t keep the camera zoomed out to a level where I can see what is going on broadly (and it resets when I click a building), there is no pause, and If I don’t happen to figure it out within literally 10 seconds, settlers are dying. You have to give players a chance to deal with a touchy interface and the lack of information we have. C’mon, man..Version: 2.6

DifferentMore instructions to help through out the game would be nice isnstead of the short help at the start.Version: 2.7

One step forward, two steps backCatastrophic failures one after another. As soon as you get anything done, an ‘event’ happens and completely sets you back. Workers dying, shuttles exploding, etc. have made this game a painfully drawn out and un-enjoyable game. Definitely not worth spending money on, needed SO much more trialling before it was released. Has potential but not a game I am going to continue playing. Might try again in a year or two and hopefully they put in some work instead of just putting out a half game for a cash grab.Version: 2.6

Lots of bugsKeeps freezing up on tutorial, and sending back to the start once tutorial is finished… unplayable..Version: 2.3

Great concept and visuals but not a lot of replay valueI loved terragenesis, and I thought this would be an amazing addition. However, there just isn’t a whole lot to bring me back to the game. I played through Mars once and then started on the moon and quickly lost interest With the original terragenesis there was a goal that you were working towards, and watching the planet transform before your eyes, adding water and life over time was satisfying. With Landfall, it’s unclear what the end goal is, and in the case of the moon I completed the “mission” long before I ever researched and built 2/3 of what is featured in the game. Playing through again I realized “what’s the point?”. Sure, you can keep growing your city but this novelty very quickly gets old. Why not start creating hab domes and terraforming technology? What’s the point, to just watch the city get bigger and keep adding people? Can the city ever become fully autonomous with births and deaths etc? TLDR: Graphics are great, and this game entertained me for a couple weeks, then I got bored and moved on..Version: 2.8

Decent concept, has potentialI think it’s still being developed. The events happen too often. For a game where a trip in a rover takes 20 minutes there’s a lot of explosive decompressions and fatal accidents. They seem tipped towards the negative but I’d settle for just way less, they get in the way. It’s not that it’s difficult because of them, they’re just annoying. Unless you lose a load of water and people die in the accident and I can’t send a rocket back for more so it’s game over. Not every research needs to lose half its progress twice and then be suddenly completed..Version: 2.4

Was a great gameLiterally crashes as soon as I open it. Was a great game for a short time..Version: 1.7

FROZENEnjoyed playing until colony was built then prompted me to build base again then said “can only build one” and that was it. Deleted and trying again but don’t hold a lot of hope :(.Version: 2.4

Worse game ever!Just one attempt after another to get your money. I was never ever able to get the game because of all the attempts to get me to pay. It was the worse attempt of any company. Do they not screen for this type of harassment?.Version: 2.6

Overall, pretty goodOnly issues I noticed were a few bugs here and there. I also had a game breaking glitch where I built the command centre before the quest to build it and I couldn’t progress any further as it wouldn’t allow me to remove it or skip the quest. Maybe add a feature where you can do quests before they pop up?.Version: 2.2

Great Idea, horrendous executionIt’s interesting concept, don’t get me wrong to the city builder elements, mixed with the sci-fi theme make the game interesting but Jesus the amount of events that take place just screwing you over, is horrendous, the expenses of things in the early is just WHY? Why does it cost 30 steel to build a power plant? Why are you forcing me to spend credits I don’t have? I had to spend all my Genesis points just to get back to a stable level again, look if you want to play a similar game that’s more fair made by the same developer just go play TerraGenesis it’s much more balanced.Version: 2.92

Looks like it could be goodBut then it crashes when I begin to research and after closing/uninstalling, it remains at the research but won’t progress, and I cannot access the laboratory research menu because I need to “complete tutorial to continue researching”. So now I’m stuck and find this game lame until this gets fixed. Either allow me to restart or fix the glitch. Thanks..Version: 2.3

Manufacturing controls lacking/creates other problemsLove the game, but we have no manufacturing control. So basically, you can’t pause manufacturing for a specific item (say a rover or module) when you don’t need/want anymore. When you hit the pause button it asks you to pay using genesis points. I would understand if you’re trying to accelerate it, but if you’re simply trying to pause or start it that’s extreme. Could be a button layout issue, but it’s very aggravating and makes resource management very hard as a result.m, because you have to shut the entire factory down. With this being a building game similar to civilization, etc, this is a major design flaw. Further because you have to shut a factory down, you don’t get to use say the river garage as a result of poor planning on the developers part, which means you can’t use more than two rovers as a result..Version: 2.3

Good game but bad policy at last I had to delete itThe programmers had made a great UI and graphically attractive game, but sad to say all gone to waste due to making money policy team. They would make your situation so tough in game that without purchasing you can’t survive, the settlers would run away with your resources when moments later you would need them the most, at first I thought I was making mistake , but I replayed the game thrice and found out their logic of game keep track record which makes it impossible to play without spending money. I challenge programmers if they can show players play without spending money and survive , they would make situation so tough in game that you either leave your hours of game play or pay money to continue. I really love the graphics and UI of game music etc. but sad that I had to delete the game after 1 week play , as I felt it’s waste of time due to their pushy nature to force you to buy things physiologically.Version: 2.92

Mars rocket does not workI had the colony well underway and then this game decided not to allow the rocket to travel back and forth with personnel or supplies from earth. What a waste of time for a badly programmed game..Version: 1.9

TerribleKeep running out of credits, the only way to get credits is to pay or watch ads. Facilities break down too often requiring credits to fix. Too many resources needed to build or repair. Super annoying to have to constantly re pair re build, Games fundamentally broken..Version: 2.3

Great concept, terrible modelYOU CANNOT PLAY THIS GAME WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY! Random disasters cluster in the early stages, usually scientists dying or critical facilities being damaged. The only way you can win is by spending money on booster packs of credits and genesis points so you can buy people and repair packs. Their original game was amazing. This is a sad and poor attempt to gouge people of their money in a very unintelligent way..Version: 2.4

Lots of potentialThis game is quite addictive. I love the sandbox style play of building your settlement. However, there are too many “accidents” and “failures” in the storyline that hamper my ability to enjoy this game. If I open the game for just a minute or two at a time, I can research/build/explore without anything breaking or a settler randomly dying. The economics alone make play difficult without creating multiple failures or problems without viable solutions. The program itself has great graphics and the user interface is intuitive once the gameplay style is learned. A self-aligning grid or a 90 degree turn would make lining up the modules more satisfying for my OCD. The ability to watch videos for GP crashes every time I watch, so they are constantly skipped. Overall, the quality is not up to what I expected from the original TerraGenesis..Version: 2.4

DisappointedUnplayable game, I always make a point of buying some credits to support developers and really got into this game for a few days. The game has now completely crashed, I hope they re-release when they fix their issues, it was a great format of the idle growth game but with a unique strategic twist. Apple granted refunds for all credits bought as the game now won’t even open on my phone..Version: 2.4

Good gameThe game is great. Enjoying it a lot but The biggest problem I have is the frequency of negative events. I can’t even play for 3 mins without someone dying or stealing something or a machine break down. I get that negative events are cool and provide game play but my god I have to log in once or twice a day and log right out to keep something from happening. If you don’t you won’t have the cash to run a shuttle to earth to get people or a repair kit. Maybe the events shouldn’t start till 72 hours after starting the game to allow you to build a foundation and cash or make the frequency ALOT less. After doing a few researches that provide money per min I might now be able to log in for more then 3 mins cause I can deal with the problems. Just my 2 cents..Version: 2.4

Sadly unplayableThe options to get money without spending a lot of real money are extremely limited. And with random events, designed to make you spend more real money, hitting your supplies and things like the export hub every time you open the app, the game is rendered unplayable. Sad as it could be a great and fun game. Hope the developer corrects this….Version: 2.6

FrustratingJust had pull plug on base that took days to build after yet another breakdown. Ok with pace of the game and the odd mishap, but things took a downward spiral after all my money had gone and a resupply rocket could not be paid for. Money accrues over time, and you need it to research, build and pay for your supply rockets. This is a must, and RNG events do more to hinder you than help, and top it off you only realise your base is badly laid out when it’s too late. I might do better a 2nd time, but hey, some nasty RNG event may tip the fine balance once more. I’m moving on with my life!.Version: 2.3

Games goodGames great but it’s glitchy as hell. Money doesn’t show up as I earn it sometimes freezes and the money for adds don’t always work..Version: 2.3

There needs to be difficulty settings. It’s fun, until it’s simply too stressful. There are too many calamities far too frequently for this to be fun, especially for a game that just launched and has no help section in game. To wit, my base is now doomed because as a beginner, i placed my landing pad beside the ore refinery. The refinery is broken, there is no repair module left, and I can’t build one at this stage. The landing pad is powerless, and I can’t reasonably expect the shipment to return safely once I finally do have the resources to buy a repair module because there is no landing bay working. And can’t build a new one because I don't have the steel. Too many calamities. Going to sleep it off and see if I can try again in the morning, but if you want a suggestion, difficulty settings..Version: 2.3

PotentialGame has potential but for the moment is unplayable. Most users seem to agree. You start off with disasters occurring every few minutes. I quickly ran out of settlers and money so I could not fly more in. I decided to delete the city and start again. Once you do this the game does not reload after closing. I reinstalled the game but my old dying city was back. Tried deleting it and restarting again but same problem….game gets stuck on loading screen..Version: 2.8

I hate this game money pitI hate this game it’s impossible to keep the planet going because things break down and it’s not clear how to repair them. Once you loose your life support systems you cannot recover and have to restart. I’ve spent a lot of money trying to buy enough credits to keep the planet going and it’s impossible. Do Not Play as it will eat up your money for no reward. I’m going to delete it..Version: 2.6

Very unstableSince 2.4 it loads then crashes almost straight away. It’s been unplayable for nearly a week now. iPhone 8+, 154/256GB available, iOS 5.6.1.Version: 2.4

SucksI know It looks cool but it’s terrible it’s okay at first but then it get so terrible its jus pure crap I respect the work of all the code but you should have put that effort into something else please take it away I appreciate the effort but it was just a bit bad[it sucks]..Version: 2.4

Needs lightSo far the game is good but half the time I can’t see what buildings are what! I get this may be to show difficulty of mars dust but it makes it impossible to play unless I sit in a room with no sunlight..Version: 2.3

It’s gotten better, but no updates in months.Updated: the game has definitely gotten better, but still glitches that put you in an endless cycle of not being able to get your colonist happy enough the progress the game (Shackleton Crater). The game does not always recognize that you have completed a challenge, or it wants you to build and arcade/gym, but you have already built your max for the scenario. Demolishing the said structure and rebuilding does not work either, and you end up with permanent negative effects on your game. Hence preventing further progression of the game. No updates in 3 months. Hopefully one is coming soon to fix these issues. I am a huge fan of the original game, but this game barely functions. You start working through the tutorial and building your first structures, and then it asks you to give your first speech. Then you’re stuck in a loop to build a command center, to which you’ve already built, and cannot access any other menu. It seems to be an issue if you try to access your colony from another device on Game Center. I also don’t think NASA has lost 40 people in its 50+ years of being in operation, and not 40 in one day of playing this game. It has potential, but there are some serious glitches that need fixed to get it there..Version: 2.92

Hydrogen PlantHi team, need the hydrogen plant to produce water as stated. It only cleans water. Will change my rating to 5 ⭐️ once done.Version: 2.4

Just too hardYou waste hours on it. Thinking you’re getting somewhere then a random event destroys something and there’s no way back from it. Can’t even work out how I’d fix it if I was willing to spend money on it. I wanted to like it but I’m deleting it. You need to dial back the doom!.Version: 2.3

Buggy with annoying random eventsWhile the gameplay is engaging, there are several annoying things about the app that makes it ultimately unplayable. In the game, you can earn credits by watching ads. Unfortunately, the bugs with the ads kick you out of the game and you lose that last 3 to 4 minutes of actions you did before you started to watch the ads. However, that’s not the thing that makes this game unplayable. The random events are. You can be in the middle of upgrading a building, assigning a worker or deciding what to research next when a random event window interrupts what you’re doing. So you either have to deal with the random event immediately and lose track of what you were doing when it popped up or ignore it and then figure out what needs to be fixed later. Most random events are just annoying, like losing some progress on your research or some supplies. However, there are some that will make you lose the game (unless you pay for an in-app purchase to deal with it). I was hit with an event that killed six scientists and damaged multiple solar panels and oxygen generators at the same time. As a result, I couldn’t generate oxygen, water or food and had only two minutes to fix it. Since it takes at least five minutes to get a ship with more people from earth to mars, I lost. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me..Version: 2.4

Fun for a short time.Initially you will have a lot of fun in this game starting to build a new city on Mars, watching the rockets land/launch and unlocking new buildings. Then you will complete the first mission and move onto building a second city. This is when it goes from fun to just angry determination. The relentless barrage of calamities that lead to many, many people dying, as well as constantly having people steal your supplies and the life support systems always failing and having to use all your credits (that build extremely slowly, I might add) to fix the problems, is enough to drive a sane person mad. This shouldn’t be called a survival game, it should be called a rage quit game. Don’t waste any money on this game. Officially deleted this game this afternoon..Version: 2.4

BugsI am trying to more settlements but after a while it keeps saying that there isn’t oxygen or power or water even though I’m trying to build the gym connected to a solar panel, oxygenator and a water recycler. There are enough resources in range however it doesn’t recognise them. I’m really confused as to what the problem is..Version: 2.4

Has potential but long way to goI’ve completed terragenesis and after seeing the ads in that game for this one, i expected yet another polished well thought out game. that’s not what i see here. the tutorial doesn’t cover some essentials such as ways to earn money or stressing the importance of building certain buildings such as the exporting centre. this game also has several unnecessary aspects such as sending a rover to a site, which takes time, then waits for instructions, thus requiring the player to come back at that time it reaches the site, otherwise it just sits there doing nothing, then takes the same amount of time to drive back. there are also several other aspects of the game that pretty much requires the player to play the game for around 2-3 minutes every 30-45 minutes for optimal progress, which is really imbalanced furthermore the research is pretty ridiculous. some research equipment such as the shuttle pad, a system that allows the player to mine more elements require the elements you intend to mine with that technology, forcing you to resort to use the earth bound rocket, which takes up more valuable resources. furthermore some research names are obnoxious. examples of these research items include batteries and storage shipping containers. it doesn’t make sense how you would decide to colonise mars, but has no idea of batteries or putting six pieces of metal plates together to form a box. furthermore this game is still currently experiencing fundamental bugs. im currently having a water crisis, but after building two more water refineries, the water level stays at 1, yet my change is +2000 and my usage is only -450, there is nothing i can do to fix this. i’m legit thinking of restarting. furthermore in regards to this, the numbers over the buildings when viewing the status of an element such as power, never represent the true value or the change value displayed on the bottom right. along with this the touch targets in the iron refinery menu are not only poorly organised, but are not aligned with the actual buttons, there have been several times where i have spent my genesis points on things that i shouldn’t have. these are core bugs that affect the actual ability for the player to play the game at all and should be addressed immediately. now i know it’s pretty useless to the developers if i just complain, and to be fair all of the things i’ve mentioned could be fixed in a future update, so for starters, some things to improve would be to have a better money management system from the start, eg have simpler contracts on the export centre, while also suggesting the player to build one in the first place, as well as maybe upgrading certain technologies or buildings like the cafeteria to increase money income. obviously also fixing the bugs, so the touch targets in the ore refinery for spending maybe having confirmation every time you want to spend gp, and the other bugs i mentioned too. in regards to the useless research items such as batteries and storage, just renaming them to maybe martian rock powered batteries or high capacity storage might just do the trick. again, sounds a bit nitpicky but coming from terragenesis, landfall seems a little lack lustre and unpolished. granted, i do think that this game is newer, thus needs some more time to iron out the bugs, but hopefully these reviews actually guide the game to a more user friendly experience, free of bugs too. these last few tweaks are optional but would really tie up the game in a nice bow tie allow buildings to connect to more than one entrance if appropriate actually have a use of the grids in building mode, so have certain positions where you can place buildings, instead of the current free form similarly in the rotation function, have only certain angles allowed, eg 45 degrees or 22.5 degrees etc automate the rover so you can just send it to a site and it will travel there, establish an outpost and then comeback all in one click. the wait times are ok even more optional but again would be nice ability to quickly move buildings even after they are built add animations of the shuttle descending when it arrives at the city and deposit site increase the distance for a building being able to connect to another exit point would only recommend this game if at least the core bugs were fixed, so for now it’s getting a pretty low rating..Version: 2.4

Crashes on tutorialDownloaded the game managed to play it but then had to restart, got into the tutorial but now it’s crashed and I can not progress I have tried deleting the apps and reinstalling but still stuck on the same tutorial screen..Version: 2.4

Data’s goneI just updated the app and all my game has restarted, I was really enjoying the game too and got so far into it..Version: 2.91

Great game but too restricted on advancementPremise is great - gameplay is great. I like the ability to build new modules and expand. It’s too costly to do it though. There are too many mishaps built into the story line (rather they happen too frequently) to make it enjoyable. Accidents that have your settlers die and then you run out of money too quickly before being able to advance research on basic things. Or to be able to bring new settlers to the planet. You can watch ads to earn coins in-app but they aren’t enough to do anything with. You’d have to watch 10 ads to get 1 piece of research completed. Great game but needs an adjustment for costs..Version: 2.6

Fun game: DON’T SPEND MONEY ON ITGreat game and a natural extension of TerraGenesis. Will be a really fun one once they get the bugs out. I learned that the hard way, spent quite a bit of money on my first go-round only to have the game big out and kill off my entire population… with no way to salvage. Some comments: Happiness is arbitrary. I went from 95% happy to zero for no apparent reason. Game needs to advise on what settlers like or don’t so you can make choices. You have to have a staffed landing site. Always! Game bugged out, couldn’t land a ship, can’t move forward… Don’t spend any money until they sort out more of the bugs. It’ll be a fruitless endeavor. Hopefully they address some issues quickly, it does get first rating when suddenly things swing way bad for no apparent reason, then it kind of forces you to spend money to fix it. Not a great enticement to play. Love the game and the interface is gorgeous… but gotta fix some stuff..Version: 2.4

Great game, shame about constant crashingLove this game, unlike some I got through the tutorial and got to setting up a second base, except now every time I start something, building or sending out a rover it crashes and everything resets so I have to do all the research, building and rover sending all over again. Very frustrating as it’s a real challenging game and I have searched for a game like this for ages..Version: 2.4

Great concept ruined by pay-to-win gameplayLandfall would be far better if it was not built as a funnel for microtransactions. I would rather pay $20 upfront to play this if it removed ads and the too-frequent catastrophic scenarios that pushed players to purchase Genesis Points (GP). The in-game currency generation is scarce and slow to prevent progression without purchasing GP, and even the ad “transmissions” are throttled after a few hours of gameplay, making it essentially impossible to weather the constant AI events that kill settlers or threaten an entire settlement. There is no pause feature, which hampered my experience as a casual player. I was a big fan of TerraGenesis for years and wanted to give this a chance—I even purchased the starter pack to support the developers. After spending just two days on this, I’m so disappointed with how greed informs the basic architecture of the gameplay. The developers should consider first how to make the base game both playable and enjoyable. THEN they should look into areas of profit generation from gameplay enhancements (expansions, new worlds, governors, etc). Microtransactions should not be a prerequisite for an enjoyable and playable experience, and it ruins what could’ve been a very well-executed product..Version: 2.92

FreezeIt’s constantly freezes every 3rd days I will not recommend this game.Version: 2.8

LandfailThe gameplay isn’t all that great. Building placement controls are poor at best and you end up discovering later that you’ve placed a building further away from important infrastructure for it to work properly. All those issues and there are tech problems with the app stability, mine keeps glitching and crashes way too often and I know it’s not my device or Wi-Fi at fault here either. Oh and your device will heat up like an expensive electronic hand warmer to a worrying level, whilst draining your battery faster than anything I’ve ever experienced. All in all, a shockingly bad experience and one to avoid, unless you like to be disappointed all the time?.Version: 2.4

PotentialI started playing this through TerraGenesis and was super excited but it just kind of fell short. I’m writing this after having to restart my city after about a week of struggling to understand my objectives in the first place. I have no clue what went wrong, a new day rolled over and I just had multiple catastrophic failures. This game has potential but for me it’s just confusing not really knowing what to do next. The only objectives were exploring the same 3 types of places or population. The random events also kill off your engineers like pests, I had no chance to grow when I was too busy waiting on replacements. There should be a way to make your facilities more safe. Honestly it got boring very quick. when I did finally figure out what I need to do to progress a little bit the UI made it difficult to see the resources I needed and how to get those resources. Switching between the interfaces was also just kind of clunky and tedious. Maybe I just didn’t last long enough for things to become really interesting but those are my struggles.Version: 2.3

Lost my rocketsAfter the update i lost my rockets because 2 of them were in kasei terra and i didn’t launch them before the update so it just got stuck there.Version: 1.7

Good game, however, you need to spend to surviveConcept of the game was good, it’s good graphics, and constant requirement for input from the player. Disappointing that the game takes you back several steps every now and again requiring you to spend money to have the resources to move the time forward..Version: 2.6

CrashingPast few days every time I open the app it crashes and there’s no easy way to get through to support.Version: 2.6

Tutorial corruptedIt seems to be an enjoyable game but the tutorial corrupted itself few times. Mostly asking you to do tasks that were already done or making a clickable area available where it should not be, making it unusable. I was able to reset the game and restart, but this time it restarted itself in game , wanting me to “start off with building a Command Center” which I already have, so it will not allow me to do, since I already have one. Since it is part of an expected sequence of clicks, I cant get in the options to restart… again. Removing and re-installing app does not fix it..Version: 2.4

Disappointing but with such promiseThe game is currently weighted so heavily with negative ‘random accidents/events’ that is an unenjoyable (almost unplayable) experience. Advancement is slow and challenging so the constant barrage of negative setbacks (at least one every few minutes of gameplay) means the negative by far exceeds the positive. 1 half step forward 3 steps back..Version: 1.7

Learn how to give proper rewards for ads.If you’re gonna make people watch adds at least give them more than just 50% extra credits for two hours sense it only counts once. Then every time after all you do is recycle the same horsecrap. The micro transactions are cringe enough you try hards. Learn how to make a game with all the ads and micro transactions you have. You’d think you could pay your employees enough to do this but clearly you guys are just a wee little company that doesn’t know how to make a game as good as clash of clans. Get on my powerlevel brudda..Version: 2.92
