✓ USED TO BE BETTERUpdate: deleted the app. I just got too frustrated having to wait all the time. I didn’t want to play once a day, I wanted to pop on periodically throughout the day - during my work breaks for example. I couldn’t ever pass the purple levels without a ton of power ups, to which I didn’t even have because I used them on all the light blue levels. And besides, what’s the point of this game if you’re not going to find the hidden objects yourself? You get to a point where you feel like you can’t progress in the story anymore. I absolutely love this game! However, two minutes for one energy point is ridiculous! The higher levels take more and more energy, so I’m at the point now where one 1-2 minute round takes two hours of wait time. It’s annoying, and I can’t afford to buy unlimited energy all the time. Also annoying is how many pop ups they throw at you to get you to buy stuff. Exit a level? Pop up. Check to do list? Pop up. Check current position in contest? Pop ups. It’s getting old. I used to spend a lot every week when I first started playing, but now I don’t spend any at all..Version: 1.1.36
✓ Can’t play the games-button won’t workI think this game would be great, if I could play it. It wouldn’t load unless it was updated, now I can’t actually play any of the ‘search for object’ games. The magnifying glass button doesn’t work, so all I can do is look at my one day old hotel. The “Contact Us” button won’t even work either. The two buttons I need don’t work but the rest do. ✓ Hidden hotelLove this game, but having played this game further on, to fill the stars becomes tedious, have to play too many times to fill a star. With the double and triple times added now, it is impossible to progress. I was informed it was for those who wanted a challenge. So it seems they are now only catering to those who can find objects fast, the players that cannot, are not able to move forward in the game. It would have been better if the time challenges were optional, with some of the scenes to do that but they have covered all scenes with triple timing, they could leave some scenes to play for those players whom cannot achieve the less timing. The only scenes are to win coins but cannot go further with storyline, the game is no longer fun it is stressful. Very disappointed..Version: 1.1.33
✓ Review by 3 months playerI enjoy the concept of the game. I like it that you accumulate stars by finding things rather then those match three games. The imagery of the games is nice too. However, this game is frustrating to play in several areas. One, you never know how much percentage your gameplay will get for you in terms of filling up for the next star. Sometimes I get a 10 on the meter but only advance less than 10 percent, while other times I am at about a 4 and I get over 30 percent. It makes your efforts to find things ASAP pointless, and takes that fun away in gameplay. Second, it takes sometime over six or seven tries to get one star and at 15 energy per gameplay and you get 110 at full energy, you basically can get ONE star most of the time that energy is refilled to max. It takes 2 minutes per energy, so over three and half hours to get one star. It is a SLOW gaming process. I wonder how much longer I have the patience for this game rule before I just give up and delete the game. Finally, a recent glitch?? with the daily wheel spin for energy. In the past two weeks or so, I have had three spins over 20 or 30 energy points that freezes up and the “claim” button does nothing. You have no choice but to close the pop up window and the energy is never added. ✓ Major glitchesThis game is fun and I enjoy it, but there are some major issues that need addressed before you lose your fan base. First, in the team challenge, my team won 1st and we each were awarded 25,000 coins each. Great right?! Until one team member lost their coins all a sudden and they never returned. Issue reported, no solution. Second, another team member used 40,000 coins to get 24 hours unlimited play. With 11 hours to go her time suddenly dropped to 4 hours, right in front of her eyes! Reported, no solution. Then there’s the personal challenges. Last night I spent most of my coins for energy so I could move up in my placement. There was 7 minutes left in the challenge and I was in 3rd, then all a sudden it jumped to 1 hr 43 mins left. So I played more and when I went to sleep I had spent all my coins getting up to second place. When I checked this morning, there is no coins awarded and a new challenge has begun. What the heck Hidden Hotel. Fix your issues or you will lose a whole bunch of fans who don’t want to put up with getting screwed! ✓ Too slow to progress the story.I’m intrigued by the story and these have some of the best hidden object scenes but it’s very slow to progress the story. Other similar games will have you earn one star with each successful mini game, this you earn a percentage. I regularly have max energy, and use it all up without even getting one more star to progress the main story. I’m fine with waiting for energy to refill and to play more, but the payoff to that wait is too low. (Also the developer responses are really condescending to people pointing this out. Then there was an update that saw double & triple points awarded BUT you had less time to play. This was okay until I realised that theses games where all you played when 3 - 2 stars away from completing an area. To me this was energy wasting & I’d started to rethink about playing. Then there was the next upgrade & the energy rose to 480 but now a game cost 60 & it’s regenerated at the same time level as before. Now I only get to play roughly 8 games per day as it takes soooo long for the energy generation to play another game. I’m really thinking of ditching this game for something else. ✓ Used to love this gameWhen i first came across this game i fell in love with it and the concept! I didnt even mind spending on boosts here and there. What developers don’t realise is that people will spend money if they aren’t forced to! Since then... something changed... the story isn’t as interesting anymore as you progress, you suddenly find it a lot harder to collect items, prizes for competitions are really not worth the effort, and actually the placement of hidden items within the levels gone downhill.. the developed have tried REALLY hard to make this game as unenjoyable as possible! ✓ Steals your moneyI absolutely loved this game at first, still do actually.. so occasionally whenever the deals pop up for unlimited lives for 6 hours for 99 cents I go ahead and get it. First couple of times it was fine but a couple days ago I paid for it and played one game and the game froze up on me so I had to reload the site and when it came back on my unlimited lives were gone and everything that came with it (power ups, coins) I messaged them with my receipt and what happened and I still haven’t had a response back so tonight they had another deal that my son really wanted to play after he ran out of lives so fast since they charge 60 energy for 1 life now 🙄 and it takes literally all day to fully reload , so against my better judgment I bought another pack for the same price and go figure it happened again I messaged them but doubt I’ll be getting a response but this is indefinitely the last penny they get out of me. ✓ Love this game, but some problems have occurredI absolutely love this game and I literally only downloaded it a couple of days ago and I’m obsessed with it! I would definitely recommend to anyone considering getting the game to get it! The only problem with it is that as you progress to higher levels I find that finding things is so much more hard (which is fair enough) but I’ve just played 2 different rooms where the objects that you need to find were not anywhere to be seen and when I use the boost to help me find then they seem to find them behind the curtain or behind a book where I can’t even see them! I think this needs to be fixed as how am I supposed to progress if I can’t find objects that aren’t there. As well as this, the amount of energy needed to play one game is a lot and considering it sometimes takes you a couple goes to fill one star makes this game harder to progress further.Version: 1.1.21

I’ve noticed that when you earn % toward a star after completing a task, that % doesn’t always carry over to when you commence the next task. I’ve noticed mine dropped from 48% complete down to 23% the next time I played. I also noticed that when I got to and passed 100% I wasn’t awarded a star, which has happened twice now. ✓ Worst update!I’ve been playing this game for awhile, working my way to level 40. Fun story line, beautiful scenes to find objects in. Had been a really enjoyable game to play. Reading some of the reviews, I haven’t minded some of the new updates including the hard challenges with short time restrictions or the number of coins per turn. The options to spins, find items or watch an add to gain more energy made it still worth continuing. The newest update has made it even more difficult to continue for free. Total energy has increased from 110 to 480. Sounds great but... It was 15/ play, now 60/play. So it’s relative, you just have to wait even longer for the energy to refresh per play now. ✓ Boo to new updates!I thought this game would be cheesy, but I quickly realized it was fun. Sometimes the story line takes awhile to play out but I felt that I was progressing in the game at a reasonable pace. Then they updated it about a week ago. In my opinion the new changes are absolutely horrible! Just an attempt for the developers to cheat you out of more money. Now each hidden scene costs 60 energy points to play, increased from 15 a week ago. And the energy only regenerates at one point per 2 minute interval to reach 480 point maximum. Now you can only play 8 two minute scenes on full energy and then it literally takes all day to refill! And everything costs more money to buy boosters now. Plus they added a really stupid “feed a parrot” for extra boosters feature which was completely not necessary. As much as I’d love to solve the mystery of the hidden hotel, I’m afraid I’m gonna have to stop playing this game. I refuse to spend money on this app daily just for normal play time. ✓ Use to like this game, now it is unplayableI have played this game off and on for years, recently I picked it back up. After about a week and a half of play the app continually crashes. It freezes at the elevator screen then closes itself down kicking me out. For almost 48 hours now I haven’t been able to play at all. I sent in a request to support and have heard nothing. It’s really a shame. Other than a few minor problems the game was fun. Minor issues being there is never enough time given during levels. The levels with the steam or fog are ridiculous, the fog stays in the same spot for well over a minute in a half. You watch a video to get extra time or pay coins to get the last item and you have to continue to pay for extra because the fog doesn’t move. Even when it starts to dissipate and you tap on the item it doesn’t give it to you forcing -5seconds from your time. Extremely frustrating. The character dialogue could be better as well, seems like a 5 year old is writing it to be honest. But, I guess none of that matters now given I cannot play at all and support is not in a hurry to fix my issue. Oh well. ✓ ThievesDownloaded the game in May and it was fun to play. I was unable to use the collections as you need batteries and credit cards to active them. So silly me started buying stater packs etc to progress in the game. The developers updated the game several times and they completely removed one item from every collection allowing me to active them once even though I could active each collection at least 5 times, they also reduced the energy received from maximum 180 to 30. Since then I have only received two of the removed items from gameplay so 7 weeks later god knows how many hours of playing and that’s all you get. They have programmed the game not to give you the last missing item to complete your collections. I feel robbed. When I complained they tried to blame it on my internet connection and claimed that I must be my phone or haven’t got the latest upgrade. What a joke they really think people are stupid. They slowed the game down so much that it now boring. The have robbed thousands of player out of their money. If you download this game do not, DO NOT spend your money on any starter packs so when they change things in the game for the worst at least you will not be robbed. You wait one whole day to refill your energy and then what? So you can get one star to wipe the spill on the floor? It's not even fun anymore. ✓ Awesome game, however....Ok, so I am in love with this game, it’s addicting! The only issue I have is, people, well me anyway, play this game to fix and decorate!!! I have limited time. ✓ Fun, but too much workThe idea behind this is fun, but there is too much work involved just to get the simplest of rewards. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if there we other games to play other than just finding hidden objects. Maybe add some puzzles. Too repetitive. The developer forgets that’s most people wanted to play this game to decorate the hotel. In order to do that, you have to read through so much boring dialogue, and then look for the same objects, in the same hidden spots, in the same location over and over and over, until you have done this enough time to score yourself 1 star to decorate one thing. And to then have to waste whatever stars you have on starting a new day, or cooking food? What? ✓ The updates of doomI hardly ever write reviews so that tells you how strongly I feel about this. When I first started playing this game, it was great! The amount of energy in the free spin was fantastic (it’s since gone down but free energy is free energy), the scenes were fun (sometimes incredibly frustrating) and it was fun to pick new furniture (even if it was only 3 options to choose from). However a bunch of things recently have made me frustrated. The most recent is seriously making me think of quitting altogether. I used to buy cheats at least every other week (I don’t have a lot of money but like supporting developers of games I like). USED to. After they added hard and super hard modes, it wasn’t worth buying cheats. They’ll be gone by the night. It’s annoying and less fun, but still fun. The reason I’m thinking of quitting the game though is because they’ve recently made it so each scene cost 60 energy rather than 15. 4X as much!!!! RIDICULOUS! Yes, the max energy went from 110 to 480 but you still have to wait 2 mins per 1 energy point. I’ve literally been waiting all day for my energy to go up again. It hasn’t reached full. In-app purchase of unlimited time disappeared more than once, winnings from tournaments not received, winnings from individual competitions not received, automated replies to complaints. When I was contacted and had some winnings applied to my game the exact problem would occur again on the next game. Then to top it all off, they changed the way winnings are paid from tournaments which is absolutely unfair to small teams that play (and sometimes “pay”) hard. I used all the energy last night which is now 60 per scene instead of 15 grr, and it used to be I had full energy of a morning when I woke up but no it was only half full after about 10 hours at least. Really this is ridiculous if you want to increase the energy limit and how much it uses at least have the energy refill fully within a reasonable period of time. Now it would mean instead of playing maybe twice a day I’ll be lucky to play once. Very stupid move seeing as the aim is to get stars which take a several scenes to get one. ✓ Okay at first...Game is pretty addicting in the way that you can follow a story line, and unlock new items for the hotel pretty quickly. However, the amount of energy needed per level is getting ridiculous. You only earn 1 energy every two minutes or so, yet each level begins to require 15-21 energy bolts - sure, you have an opportunity to get bonus energy once a day for watching an ad, but you only get about 5-10 bonus energy. Otherwise you have to wait a few hours, spend actual money, or find keys/luggage and then you unlock a little bonus package that include a couple energy bolts, an extra combo pack, and some coins. I would definitely be more inclined to make in-app purchases if the searches didn’t require so many energy bolts per level. Not to mention, it takes so much to fill a star with each search you complete that you spend all energy bolts and don’t even earn 1 star. I would recommend making it to where the searches cost less energy, and making to to where you earn more credit toward filling the star meter (because you can not fix anything in the hotel without stars). It would also be really great to be able to watch more ads throughout the game to earn more coins and energy. That way, you don’t have to wait for the timer to reset because let’s face it...having to wait about two minutes for one energy bolt, when you need 25 bolts to play the next level, to just barely fill the next star you’re supposed to earn is a little discouraging..Version: 1.1.28

✓ I DID love the game…I’m unsure what the issue is, why you feel the need to make the game basically impossible without investing literally Hundreds of dollars. I DO spend approximately $100 a month on your game.. I DID love it.. but it has literally become impossible to complete a level without using either a booster or having to pay to add time. As if that’s not bad enough, now I find that when I play for a bit to ‘bank’ some stars (8 or 10) I can use 1 to finish a task and look and have zero star’s remaining.. (where did the others go? Good question!) I am also BEYOND fed up with finding an item tapping it and the game telling me (AND TAKING TIME AWAY) that’s it wrong only to show me I was CORRECT when the time runs out! ✓ Too many glitchesI’ve had unresolved issues, despite contacting developers. They seem uninterested in truly investigation and correcting problems, as every response indicates them blaming my not using WiFi, despite the fact that I am. Scenes charge you energy, but then will not load. And it’s not most scenes. Just two. Always the same two (Under the Bed & Hamster Cage). Additionally , you can tap right on a small object and until you zoom in, the game won’t recognize your touching it. It gives you a red X...enough of those and you lose energy. I’ve seen reviews that compliment how difficult the game gets. In my opinion, it’s not that it gets difficult, they just expect more from you. You start out needing to find 8 objects, then it’s 16...in less time. And you go from being able to earn a star in one to two plays...upwards to 8-10 plays. Scenes go from 15 energy to play to 60 energy to play. So, they end up taking way longer to get through. Almost too long I’m my opinion. A good, fun game should be challenging without frustrating. This game is not that. It’s frustrating. Yet addictive. I wished developers would take complaints seriously. ✓ Getting greedy!!!I have been playing this game for some time now and like many others I have made purchases for energy, have to agree with the other players and say that the developer to this game have got so greedy now, not only do you seem to need more energy for completing goals but the latest update is very disappointing, the collections have all been changed to reward you with 30 energy to complete the set, where as they used to be worth doing as you could get 180 energy on some but not anymore all collections regardless of level are worth 30!! it’s such a shame to see a game go down this route as soon as it gets popular. ✓ Can’t play consistentlyBeautiful graphics and fun puzzles but they’ve made this game so expensive that you simply cannot play for more than a few minutes a day. Each puzzle requires so much energy that you can only obtain one or two stars per day, allowing you to make only one or two design changes per day. ✓ Has potential but NEEDS more workThis game is great it could be 5* but there are a few issues that NEED to sorted out! 1; Energy - I find it shocking at how quickly the energy goes. 110 energy will only give you 7 turns. You can only get 1 star maximum. You either need to change how much a turn costs instead of 15 energy change it to 5 energy or change the time it takes for your energy to restore so instead of 2 minutes for 1 energy change it to 1 minute. 2; Cut scenes - This is the big one for me. I do not see the reason to why it takes 20 seconds for a character to walk into a room to start the conversation or a dog to “run” into a room. There is no skip option and it really frustrates me. I don’t want to see or wait for it. I literally can walk out of the room to make a cup of tea and come back and the skip option still hasn’t come up. This for sure needs to change. For the people who havent played this game yet, in this game you use up 15 out of your 110 energy per play and requires you to find items in a specific amount of time to earn points so that way you could fill up 1 star but depending how long you take, you get less points so basically you have yo have a good eye and find all the items in like .1 seconds otherwise you only get like 10% of the star. You then use those stars to restore items around the hotel 1 by 1. People including myself simply dont have the time to wait around 2 hours for all the energy to restore and then go back and play it, the biggest problem is that since im kinda far into the game it takes up all my energy to barely reach 1 star. 1 STAR, come on now developers thats why people are deleting your game. ✓ What a rip off!First of all, I’ve written a review for this game previously, and the second time when I had more to say about it, it let me add on to my original review. Now apparently, my previous review has been removed because I guess they don’t want people seeing negative things about the game. I won’t go into my previous complaints because they’re fairly similar to a lot of the stuff I see others posting on here, i.e. game freezing, kicking you out, taking way too many turns on a scene to earn a star, etc. But, I will talk about the fact that the game stole coins from me. About a week or so ago, I won the top score competition and a prize of 10,000 coins. When added to my bank, it gave me a total of 31,000. After that, I took a break and didn’t play for a week. Lo and behold, I log on today, and my coin total is only 21,000. Then, in my absence, the club I belong to on the game won a competition and my share of the prize was 3,500. It awarded that to me, followed immediately by the game kicking me out. When I got back in, my 3,500 I’d just won was gone, with no way of reclaiming it. The coin pay off when you win is very very low compared to what things cost. I’ve played it every day and I even lost all my progress(I was on day 21) and started the whole game again after the support kept saying they’d help and did absolutely nothing. I, like others, did not like the inclusion of hard and super hard modes but was able to get past them all with few boosters just from having played the scene recently enough to remember each objects multiple locations. I think hard and super hard mode should have been made optional but I could deal with having them. THIS last update has ruined this game. I was stupid enough to open the game see the larger energy bar and think that we could play for WAY longer with 15 energy per play but I was SO disappointed to see they raised the energy per play to 60! The new energy bar was made pointless and now it takes forever and a day for the energy to build, which is obviously what they wanted. I like the idea of having a club and them being able to give you energy. Also, I like the fact that there are competitions. HOWEVER, the further you get into the game, the more energy the scenes take. So sometimes I only get to play maybe 3-4 scenes a day. Maybe lower the amount of energy? Also, I’m having a problem when I use my energy to start a scene, the game will go back to the loading screen and then bring me back to the hotel, with my energy gone but I did not complete the scene. This bug has taken so much energy from me!!!! Right now I’m advanced to the 480 max energy. When I play the game, I play until I’m out of energy. Each scene I’m working on takes 60 energy. Here is what I mean, it takes 60 energy points to play one round, but it takes two minutes to gain one point. Therefore it takes two hours to get enough energy to play one round that is played in two minutes or less. Maximum energy is 480 energy points which is 8 rounds (using 60 per round) so it takes 16 hours to get full energy!!!!!! What!?! On the hard and super hard levels, I can go through all 480 energy points in less than 15 minutes and not win a thing! Also you get 10-15 coins per win, ok, but it costs 950! Coins to get one boost to help win one round! That’s 65-95 wins just to get one boost! Come on, really? But then you changed the amount of energy you could win in bonus spins and for completing collections and made it so you hardly ever get to complete a collection. Stars became more difficult to get as you received less boost for completing a level. THEN - you made it so items change their appearance every round (flamingo might be a shadow of one then a stuffed toy then a sticker etc etc) and added the Hard and Super Hard modes which created a new challenge which was fine. NOW! You have increased the energy limit from 110 to 480 which I got excited about only to realise you’ve also increased the cost to play a round from 15 to 60!! I’ve had enough. ✓ Good game but problemsThis is such a good game but I’ve run into some issues. I had progressed quite far and was on about day 15. Since the 2019 christmas update, my game would open up and then crash straight away so I was unable to play the game. Resetting my device did not help. I decided to delete the game and download it again. I tried to get my data back as I was connected to Facebook but it has made me start from the beginning after months of playing the same save. Although it has kept my money from the old save, all my gameplay has been lost. ✓ Why are you ruining the game!This was my favourite game in my phone.... until the latest update. I loved the new speed features, the hard and extra hard mode were a great test of your speed, and the new spot the difference levels were a welcome break from the hidden objects. All these changes, for me, enhanced the game and now and again I wasn’t opposed to spending 99p to have a couple of hours unlimited play once a week when I had time. This latest update really has started to take the biscuit and has started to ruin the game. Now you earn 1 energy every 2 minutes and instead of spending 15 energy per game it’s now a whopping 60 energy! Even though this huge increase has occurred, you still only earn 25 energy from friends or 15/10 energy per advert watched. It means realistically, instead of playing the game 3-4 times a day when you have a spare minute, now you are lucky to get 2 times a day as the energy doesn’t replenish quickly enough and you can’t make enough progress in the game to make it worthwhile. ✓ Fun from Day 1-4 after that...not so muchThis game is fun until you have to play the same game 4-5 plays to earn one star. At first you earn stars in a matter of 2 plays but eventually it takes a lot more, much sooner than you’d think. Each time you work toward earning a star your energy is drained. In order to earn a star, you play a seek and find game to find a list of objects. Sometimes the objects listed aren't even visible and then suddenly appear when you move away from the area as a means to run your time. Each hidden object scene drains your energy to the point you are allowed to only earn one star in so many hours. If you want to continue play they suggest you purchase energy with real money otherwise your stuck waiting for hours to pass for your energy to fill up. I will say though that one star will lead to pretty big changes and decorations. I’m on day 8 and have redecorated about 5 rooms, however the hotel is huge and there are a lot of rooms. I don’t like that there are missions to fulfill because of the lame storyline You will have to complete missions that have nothing to do with renovating the hotel which is annoying. ✓ Fun game but big problemsI really enjoyed the game but sadly there are a lot of big problems with it. Sometimes your energy gets low and you have to spend actual cash to get more energy especially if you are in a tournament and want to get the big prizes or earn a top ranking. Twice now I have spent money and placed third place in the tournament or Competitions and was supposed to get $10,000-$15,000 in coins. Both times I NEVER was awarded the coins. Once you push the claim button you are supposed to be awarded your prize, however two times now out of three I have placed in the top three and have NOT received the coins that I have earned. I have contacted the help desk but never received a response, the prize or my actual cash refunded that I spent on enough energy to rank in the competitions and tournaments. I have seen other complaints about the same issues with receiving prize rewards. I love the actual game but have been burned twice now. So to go from empty to full, it would take almost 4 hours, but not bad. It cost 15 energy per round, so you could do 7 rounds with each full bar. You also got free energy every day and could watch videos every so often to gain extra energy. Then, after being forced to update, I noticed my max energy went to 480 that could be stored, which was initially exciting. But they increased the cost of a round to 60 energy and it STILL takes two minutes to gain one energy!! This means it takes FOUR TIMES as long to accrue enough energy to play one round! It takes two hours! And you have to play several rounds to complete one task, and then many tasks to complete a level. You could progress slowly and freely without making in app purchases and the mini games to collect stars were more interesting than the candy crush style of other games. However, when I reported what I thought was a simple bug, the developers response was to reset my in game progress back quite significantly. When I asked them to restore it to where it was, the reset my game progress back to the very beginning. I asked them again to restore my progress correctly they closed my ticket and said they were working on it. Again I asked them to restore it and was told it would be fixed on the next update. The latest update came and nothing was fixed. ✓ First fun, then frustratingLet me start by saying I thoroughly enjoyed this game when it first began. However, after playing it for some time now I have come across some very silly changes. First after playing The game for awhile they up your energy level! Great right? WRONG!! They just make the energy cost more expensive for each game you play. Why did you even make that change? Now you have to wait like almost a full 12 hours before you are completely restored. Second. ✓ Was one of my favorites until they changed the energyI quickly got addicted to this game and was really enjoying all the different aspects of it. I played it almost every day. However, a few days ago they changed my energy bar from holding 110 energy total to 480 energy total. When it was 110 energy, each round of a hidden objects game cost 15 energy, you got 10-15 energy for watching ads, and any rewards you got were usually around 15 energy (which actually helped). If I left the game alone for an hour or two my energy would be fully restored. Now, even though they changed my energy total to 480, the energy from watching ads and the energy you get from rewards is still 15. Also, each round of a hidden objects game costs 60 energy instead of 15. Plus I went to bed last night with a little energy left and now, 8 hours later, it’s still not fully restored. If they are really going to stick with the 480 energy total, they need to change other aspects of the game to be proportionate to that new total. Rewards need to be much bigger, and energy needs to be restored/refilled at a much higher rate. I enjoyed fixing the hotel, now I’m using a star to “phone” someone - what’s that about ???? Pointless use of my winnings. Since the updates and the high energy level requirements it’s quite disappointing. I’m getting to the point that I’ll probably look for another game to play. Unless the developers rethink their update and reasonings to why the drastic and frustrating changes. To gain a star to update the hotel, requires lots of time, the quicker you play and win doesn’t necessarily get you more rewards. The daily rewards are unachievable and some challenges don’t come up or payment is required so you cant win, seems pointless having it. When you win a level it still takes your “life”, most other games let you play until you loose, this one requires the high energy level payment each time to play since the update it now appears to run out faster and doesn’t refuel itself as quick, some days it has not reached or refreshed to max level overnight. So you may only get three games. The double/tripe point levels are quite unrealistic in time allowance, making it harder and frustrates the player. ✓ Recent changes spoiled the gameHidden Hotel was my favorite game until the recent update. The levels cost 4x as much energy to play and while the total energy you can have is increased, it takes the same amount of time to accumulate. Energy requests from your team used to give you enough for another turn but now it’s less than 1/2 of what you need. So without paying for energy it went from a maximum possible of 60 turns per day to 15. Without paying for energy it is no longer possible to be competitive in any of the tournaments. It also has ground the progress of the story to a halt. There was also an added level of difficulty which adds some challenge. I think it’s good because it probably was a little too easy previously, but now some of the levels you get less than a min to play but it still costs 60 energy points. So you essentially wait 2 hours to play for 45-60 seconds & there’s a strong chance you won’t win. Also some of the new “spot the difference” levels are insane. There are usually 1-2 I can’t find & have to use clues for. When I do, I still can’t see what is supposed to be different. The hidden object scenes are good, but there are issues with everything else that prevent you from being able to spend time playing. First and foremost, they cut you off. You get one energy every five minutes and it takes sixty energy to play. So you can realistically play this only a couple times per day max. Most people are playing the game to decorate the hotel. Although buying unlimited energy is not expensive ( couple of dollars), but it seems like using real money to buy energy is the only way to continue the game. Ridiculous! ✓ Started out as a favorite but quickly declinedI loved this game when I first started playing it. With each star you could design a part of the hotel or furniture and it was fun. Soon after, the stars take forever to earn and you don’t get a lot of coins for each finished level so it’s hard to save up to buy hints and boosts unless you use real money. I went through a lot of searches to earn 5 stars and not one star was used to design something... it was all about having conversation with a character or finding animals or calling another character. I wanted to design!! Ultimately I quit playing when they made it so every level 9, was ‘super hard mode’ so if you couldn’t find the objects in time, you lost the level. I would rather grind out the xp than waste 15 energy a shot to not complete the search. Same with the ‘hard mode’, I forget what star level this appears on but it’s a waste of energy if you can’t complete in the smaller amount of time. Now, however, I have reached a level where instead of the normal time given to find all the items needed, it’s cut in half for double the coins. ✓ Less Bugs PleaseI was really excited to get back into playing this game after a long time away from it. The newest update had so many new changes, and even though my previous save file had been reset, I didn’t mind because it felt like a completely new game that I was excited to play again. However, the game has so many bugs, namely with the puzzles that you are supposed to solve to get the lore of the hotel. Whenever I try to do one, A) either the puzzle itself glitches and I can’t properly do it, or B) after I complete the puzzle, I will get the black screen of death or it’s frozen on the lobby or it WILL play the following cutscene, then the endless black screen. I exit out of the game, reload, and it says I never completed the puzzle, leaving me in this endless cycle. It’s really annoying because the game is fun other than that. ✓ The Energy SystemI’ve found so much enjoyment in this game, I keep active on it every single day and I’ve had the same complaint running through my mind since a couple months ago, when I had first downloaded the game. The energy system needs to be reworked, what is the point in restricting the amount of time I’m able to play if I’m succeeding every level? The suggestions I have for the matter are to either: 1 - Remove the energy system entirely and add the lives system that most games use nowadays. But the energy cost per puzzle and the slow rate of regeneration, make it nearly impossible to play. Microtransactions are, by design, the only way to play for more than 10 minutes at a time. To make matters worse, when I finally caved and bought some “unlimited”energy just to get to play for a bit longer, numerous glitches made the game unplayable. ✓ Used to love this game…This game was so much more fun before the fog and blackout scenes were added, those levels are so annoying! Especially in the fog scenes where you can see the item you need but it won’t let you tap it and then your time runs out. Doubling the amount of coins needed to add time was unnecessary as 900 coins was already steep and you only get 10-30 coins per level. It was nice when you could choose which scenes you wanted to play and had more opportunity to get more coins by replaying already completed scenes. I know you’ll respond with your generic answer of all the ways there are to earn more resources but of course the quickest way is to spend actual money, which I do from time to time, but refuse to do often enough to actually progress faster than a snail’s pace. ✓ Greedy developersThis is a game I would easily give five stars for, I started playing it a long time ago and have stuck with it. Lots of fun opening new rooms and hunting for objects. As you progress through the game, it takes a lot longer to complete a star (level) but that used to be ok because occasionally you could get substantial bonus powers from collections or watch an advert to play longer, now, however it seems the developers have got greedy, all the collections have been reduced to 30 power (2 go’s) and some adverts you now get only 5. We got used to the fact that you’d only ever get the lowest spins on the wheel but along with everything else it’s not on. Takes too much energy to fill star, barely any coins given after completion of each game, took away the best player competition which I loved & helped on coins. ✓ Lots of money or lots of timeThis game is better than some similar games in that every action (clean the room, change the wallpaper, put in a new couch, etc) require only one star each. However, you need to play 5-6 HO games to earn one star. No problem except you never know how many points you’ll receive for one game. Sometimes it’s 23% of the star, sometimes it’s 27% of the star. And when you progress past a certain point, you start finding yourself at 97% or 99% of the star and you don’t have enough energy to just keep playing. So you either wait for a bit, play something else and come back OR you pay for more energy. I find this blatant greed distasteful, especially since after EVERY mini HO game, there are two windows encouraging you to buy energy. Each locked area can gain you 10 stars, and it looks like there are about 50 locked areas. After four days, I have completed 3 of the areas because it is taking so much time. I would not mind paying a one-time fee to purchase the game, but without any consistency in earning stars or finishing areas, I estimate this game could cost me either 2 months of playing regularly every day for free or $200-$300. ✓ I do like the game, BUT . . .So I saw this game advertised on a few other games I play. I have the game, Seeker’s Notes, another iSpy game, and I really enjoy playing it. I thought “What the heck? Why not?” and I downloaded it. The games are very similar, and I do enjoy playing Hidden Hotel, however there are a few things that drive me crazy! For one, there are a few bugs I wish were fixed. So I liked the look of the “classic hotel” (aka the middle option for all the decorating/design choices). However, I realized that, in the lobby, if you select the middle option for the couches in the bottom right corner, the flowers that you place will appear to be on top of the couches. Every time I look at it, it bothers me. Please fix it! Also, in the kitchen, it appears that you cannot change the second box of food that you put down (the one you put down after realizing Donna is coming to the hotel). I, again, picked the middle option but I cannot change it. I can only select the floor or the wall. This is very frustrating. On a more positive note, the levels are well constructed and detailed (in the freezer room you can see freezer smoke floating around, etc). ✓ Bad UpdateI loved this game so so much. I’ve been playing it for 3 weeks and I loved it. Unfortunately the new updated they released 2 or 3 days ago is completely rubbish. The rewards for collecting items to put in your « collection » is ridiculous. It went from winning 100 energy and some boosters to 30 energy. Ridiculous. The amount of energy you need to fill up the stars is seriously a joke. Before it was going from easier to harder. The first 1-2 stars were filled up quite easily. Before you could win 10 energy which was quite good so I was doing it regularly, now you’re winning only 5. I honestly think you guys did a big mistake doing this update. ✓ Updates ruined the gameI have been playing this game for a couple of months now, it’s been a fun time waster, and has kept me interested - I really liked it. Recently however an update has completely ruined it. You used to get an energy every 2mins, and the cost of each level of game was 15 energy. I already thought this wasn’t great - it took a fair while for energy to refill, especially in comparison to similar games. Now they’ve released an update that has made each level cost 60 energies to play - but they haven’t changed to amount of time it takes refill. So, I can now play about 3 levels every 4ish hours? This makes it way too difficult to progress in and honestly people will just lose interest. TLDR; the developers are just shooting themselves in the foot. Recently, however, the developers decided to update the game to make it so.Version: 1.1.28
✓ Fun but the energy is annoyingThe app was really fun at first. The energy recharges really fast but not after long the energy to play higher levels is a ton. You also don’t always get a full star for finishing a level you just get a percentage and you’ll get about 10-30 coin from playing each level. You don’t earn any additional energy, I feel like it would be very helpful. It is awesome that after you finish the day you earn full energy back but energy (only way to play the levels) is the main issue. I have had this game for about a week and my levels now require around 39 energy, on 3 separate times when I went to load the level after turning in my energy my app would crash and start over and not start up on my level that I paid for. My energy would be gone and there’s no way to get it back. Not to mention they have pop up in store purchases every minute. It is very much an app to make money off of you. Other than that, the levels are so fun. They are getting harder but that is to be expected..Version: 1.1.33
