John Lewis Credit Card for Positive User Reviews

Early days, but seems OKI have only been using this app for a couple of days, but so far it compares reasonably favourably with my other credit card’s app. It seems to have a good range of info on it, and a decent amount of account functionality. HOWEVER I am disappointed that there is no option to have app notifications every time money is spent on the card. Instead I have to be sent a test message. Please just make it possible to have banner notifications telling me when money has been spent!!.Version: 2023.22.1

A Great step forward for John Lewis CardsI switched to this App as soon as possible so have already been through a few monthly cycles. In the switch over I made a mistake and had to ring up. The service was instant and effective - that’s rare. Using Apple Watch your transactions are instantly there - that’s rare. The App is fine, easy to use and has been improving. This is a huge improvement for John Lewis cards and is the way to manage your card..Version: 2022.42.2

John Lewis NewDayHere’s a victory I’d like to share. Here’s how I got help from a person when the machine was incapable of understanding the human problem. The way to get on the same page as the New Day machine is to talk to a person and when the machine asks a specific question just say the Something Else option. Eventually you will get through to a person. Talk with them until you are confident that by the end of the conversation both of you can wish each other a “nice” “New day “. Talk with the customer service person as if they will definitely help you get to the other side of a busy , stressful complex set of crossings on the road by the end of the conversation. Ask the customer service human person to take you to the meta-phorical Zebra Crossing. Thanks to Ibrahim at NewDay for holding my hand while I crossed the road using my new iPhone 13. Sadly I had to say goodbye to my Microsoft Vista computer and it’s associated email address because the software in it just couldn’t cope with the change. John Lewis please note- look after your past customers. Someone at John Lewis and not NewDay forgot about training the decision makers how to properly make reasonable adjustments for past customers who have found themselves impaired. Impossible on my iPhone SE + moreI have just paid my bill for this month, but I had to use my iPad for you and my phone for my bank because your app is too long and wide for my iPhone SE. I had requested for my account to run to the 17th of the month, but you have sent me a statement for the period ending on the 2nd of this month. I always pay immediately. I don't like the way you set out your statements. They are very "bitty". So far I'm not very happy with your service. Sorry..Version: 2022.35.1

Payment Due Reminders BothersomeApp is good, both keeping track of charges in real time, and also handling the security check for online purchases. However, I add my voice to the big complaint already made by others: PLEASE update the payment due alert, making it go away once payment has been received or, ideally, acknowledging receipt of payment and whether it was a minimum/partial payment or the statement balance in full. Today, 7 Nov, app is still telling me my minimum payment is due 31 Oct. Can be scary if you suddenly worry you may have forgotten, or a payment made hasn’t posted correctly. Alan WhitingFar easier than the previous card payment system, all done in a matter of minutes. Held my John Lewis card since I married in 1982, still remain a loyal customer despite all the attempts from unworthy competitors to take up their card offers. Always outstanding service, easy payment system each month and can pick up online orders in my local Waitrose within days. Fantastic..Version: 2023.41.1

Great App but, could be better!I love using the App very useful and great way to check on transactions. What could benefit the user is a input box that we could write information about our purchases and that would be linked to the transaction. Bear with. For instance when you have lots of transactions for instance with PayPal payments it’s not clear what these are for and as a result there is a lot of looking up when the statement is sent to find out what you spent the money for. So as you progress through the month towards the statement you can indicate against the transaction what it was for at the time of your purchase. All would become clear when it’s time to pay. Mrs Heather BartonAbsolute chaos. Doesn’t work the same as other store cards, could not set up on line payment (no payee details in the app) and then when paid by card it tells me that next direct debit is being reduced so had to make second payment as substitute for direct debit that had been cancelled. Could not find NEWDAY details when setting up online payment and there were several John Lewis details to choose from..Version: 2022.49.2

Effective App, but….The payment and payment due date are nice and clear. Front and centre. Great. BUT, when payment is made, please get rid of this payment due and amount notification!! It’s not due anymore!! Replace with “Card paid in full this month, Keep up the hood work’” or “Minimum payment conditions met this month. Well done! You can still make a further payment here if you wish”. Just stop telling us payment is due, when it’s not. Please..Version: 2022.42.2

Not so easyUnfortunately the new card is not as easy to use as the old partnership card and I spend ages trying to resolve what a payment to New Day was on my bank statement as I was expecting any payments to the card to show as Partnership Card ( as the old one did) . Also when trying to make a one off payment to clear some of the balance there were issues . So far not great experience . Even sending this msg is difficult as everything I enter as a nickname has already been used and will not let me miss the nickname out.Version: 2022.38.2

App is better than the Credit Card companyThe app is reasonable and does most things well. The frustrating issues are more with New Day and communications with the company. These are generally via automated systems so tedious until you get a real human. Credit limits compared to the old Partnership card are pretty random and annoying. But these issues shouldn’t be used to judge the app IMHO. And the developer response to this review was considered and constructive so I’d add half a star if I could..Version: 2023.3.2

Log out/Log in!I find this app very useful, especially being able to check items as I go through the month rather than wait for the statement and then have to wade through all the paper receipts to check purchases. The only problem I have is that when I log out, the login again button is very near the bottom of my iPad screen. As I swipe up to go to my Home Screen I often manage to inadvertently log back in to the app..Version: 2023.11.3

Fed upFed up trying to get things to work unlike previous card which was easy to set up a payment transfer from my bank!! I tried the online payment and there were too many numbers to put into my card reader which locked me out after three attempts!! All it seems like is you want a direct debit set up and I don’t want to do that!! I want things to be simple as before and I’m am seriously considering getting a new credit provider!!.Version: 2022.47.1

Good but could be betterI agree with everyone else. I like the fast accurate information given on my transactions but I hate the nagging about making a payment - even when I have already made one & set up a direct debit!! Which didn’t really want to do - I am perfectly able to manage my finances myself. Stupidly I did a balance transfer - never done one before. Now I can’t use the card or get points from JL or I will instantly be charged interest on any further transactions!!! As I hate paying interest. I’m not using the card until I have paid off the transfer. Wish I’d never gone down that road. Not worth the hassle or the 1.99% charge. No wonder credit card company’s are so rich..Version: 2022.44.4

Great AppMuch better than he old John Lewis App as you are now able to pay by card or via bank transfer / a lot more user friendly and Ypres can automatically see how many points ypu have on your card instead of waiting fir the statement to be sent. A lot clearer / user friendly and quicker to use than the old JL credit card app! Thank you for the improvements :).Version: 2022.38.2

Annoying issuesTwo annoying issues; Even after you have read messages, they still show as unread with a red dot. There is a large notification button “Add to Apple Wallet”. I have added the card to my Apple Wallet, but the notification doesn’t clear. When you hit the button it says “card already added”, I know! Please tidy up this annoying glitches, otherwise the app is good..Version: 2022.32.3
