Vocal Range Finder - Sing Whiz for Negative User Reviews

HORRIBLE :(I was bored and decided to download this app for fun. I did the vocal test and it said I’m a mezzo soprano (I’m an alto). Also, it really has trouble hearing the notes during the ONE warm up it allows. And if your concerned enough to actually pay to get the rest of the stuff, just get a vocal teacher, their so much better. (I <3 my vocal teacher) I’m summary 1/10 get a vocal teacher.Version: 3.0

Not worth it unless you payApart from figuring out your range and getting to do one exercise which is out of your range, this app is useless unless you pay for the premium. plus the voice types are sometimes wrong. i saw it a lot on tiktok and wanted to try it. but it’s a rip off, so, if you wnat vocal warm ups, your better off finding them on youtube.Version: 2.3

GoodIts good but theres only like 2 things that are not premium.Version: 2.7

UmmmOk so it’s ok overall good for finding your range for sure but um my lowest not is D3 the absolute lowest I can actually comfortably sing, with the highest being F#7 it labeled me as Contralto, I’m more comfortable singing mezzo soprano but whatever, i tried doing the warm ups I did the practice for a second and I was pretty accurate, I go to actually sing it and it’s starting way lower starting a G2… which i can not sing so my accuracy is 28 :/ I do not like this ik it’s supposed to make you better but it’s not ok because i physically can’t sing it and probably won’t i wanted to use it to sing higher but I want to keep the same range on the app.Version: 2.4

Exercise pitch ranges are too limitedThis app is good overall, with good exercises and pretty accurate pitch tracking. However, I have a major issue with. My lowest note in the app’s vocal range data is D#3, but every warm up it gives me starts on G2. That’s the lowest note I can actually produce, and a minor sixth lower than I can comfortably sing cold. It says that if the range is uncomfortable, I should retake the vocal range test, but that doesn’t really help. If I raise the lower limit of my voice on the test one note at a time until the warm-ups change their starting pitch, they jump up two octaves to start on G4. That’s even worse for me. I risk straining my voice with either range. That’s not okay for warming up. I can safely and comfortably start at G3, but the app won’t let me. It’s super frustrating because I like the exercises in the app, but I can’t use half of them until I’m thoroughly warmed up. I do use the warm-ups sometimes, but only after I’m already warmed up. If I could manually select which octave to sing, that would really improve my experience with this app. Also, on a much smaller note, for some reason, the app doesn’t seem to have an alto categorization. When I was changing the lower limit of my voice one semitone at a time, it went from contralto to mezzo-soprano to soprano. Not really a huge deal to my mind, but odd..Version: 2.3

Getting there.Good idea. Hard to achieve it as other sounds catch it and it can take you longer to warm up to the top note..Version: 2.4

Ridiculous!Thought it was great when it told me my range, but tried an excersize and made me attempt notes way too low!.Version: 2.3

Good but …It is a good app and if you don’t know what level of singing get it but u have to pay for a lot of things it’s isn’t much I get that but I was disappointed in how much u needed to pay for.Version: 3.0

Better without headphonesIt encourages you to sing with headphones in but is more accurate without..Version: 2.4

IdkHonestly the app seemed to have so much potential, but i don’t think it’s great unless if you pay it’s useless otherwise.Version: 2.7

Sing whizPaid for app. Only allows me to check my vocal range. Everything else you have to pay extra or upgrade. Waste of money..Version: 2.3

It’s okI don’t think this app accurately tells you your vocal range. The one warm up you can do that wasn’t behind a paywall wasn’t accurate for the voice range. It said I was an alto but the warm up was so deep I only got it 17% right. I had to change it to mezzo soprano by lying about how deep my voice can actually go to get the warm up to be accurate. It seems like most features are behind a paywall which is a shame because it seems like it could be quite great for people who can’t pay. I’ll still continue to it since it still does the job I’m just a little disappointed..Version: 2.5

Love the app very goodI really like this app but I do wish it loaded faster and had more free stuff for practising ..Version: 2.0

EhThe app is generally good if you just want to find your range and somewhat voice type. I’m a mezzo-soprano and it labeled me as “mezzo soprano”, I can sing generally high and my comfortable scale is in the middle-higher part of my scale. Yet when I go to re-do my low note, I get one note lower and is labeled as “contralto” even though I can sing high comfortably, and I can’t sing lower notes as comfortably. And when I go to do my warm ups, it only gives me low notes. And you can only do 1-2 exercises without having to pay for premium. So if you download it just to find your range, great app, but can’t do much from there without premium..Version: 2.3

DisappointingI downloaded the app to see if I can improve my vocal range and I was getting into it, despite certain technical issues. I then chose to purchase the premium subscription, but a couple of months into buying the subscription the app update removed my premium subscription and I couldn’t get any access to premium features. I reached out to the developers about my concerns and they did not respond at all. No matter the amount of money, taking advantage of people’s earnings is shameful! Do better! Disappointed!.Version: 2.3

Out of rangeI’m using the free version and I’m a contralto with the range of E3 to G5 and the first practice is almost a whole octave below my lowest note. It’s not adjustable and I cannot attempt the practice because of this fact..Version: 2.3

Nice app, but you have to payIt's a great app and but you have to pay to get the best experience. There is only one singing practise and one breathing exercise available. I think the app is not very usable without the premium features which is very frustrating. I will not be paying and want to see more free-friendly options..Version: 3.2

Few optionsUnless you pay for premium they are few options, however you can fund your vocal range.Version: 3.0

BugsI can’t seem to get the vocal range thing to work. Is there anything I can do?.Version: 2.3

Very pay to useYou cant do much without paying- and i feel like if you are doing it correctly ur not getting the correct octave category thing.Version: 2.9

AwfulI tried to work it singing the ahhh it didn't let me.Version: 2.5

There are plenty of problemsI like the app and tells you how many octaves you have but I hate how you have to pay to get any other lessons.Version: 2.9

Can I get a refundThe subscription was purchased on accident because it’s so easy to ok make purchases these days and I need a refund it hasn’t even been 15 minutes since I accidentally downloaded it but I’m not going to use this app. I really need my money back because I’m short on it at the moment.Version: 3.1

UselessIt’s good at its job but you literally cant do anything without paying.Version: 2.3

Add more warmups that aren’t premiumI downloaded this app to help my singing get a little bit better but only 1 warmup is not premium and honestly some people just can’t get the premium because they are either under the age to get a job and get their own money (my case) or can’t afford it because of bills. The best solution for this is to add more warmups that are not premium Another thing is that there’s no alto option but I am not mad about that (it’s just a minor inconvenience for altos) But other than that it’s an okay app that just needs some tweaking.Version: 2.3

Not worth itIf you download the app you can literally only do one exercise without having to pay and it’s very inaccurate..Version: 2.3

Too much premiumPlease read this before downloading. Almost everything costs premium to do and barley anything doesn’t cost premium. I wish this was removed..Version: 2.5

Warm ups don’t match your range and everything is behind a paywall. When I got the app my range came in at C3-A5 so the app decided I was a tenor. When I decided to do the only free warm up in the app it started me on a G2 which is well out of my range and when I did the warm up up the octave it was all marked as wrong. Also literally everything other than the incorrect warmup mentioned and some breathing exercises are locked behind a paywall. Do not recommend unless you only want to test your range.Version: 2.3

This app is kinda badBasically this app is great when you want to know your vocal range, but the other qualities of it are just not that great. It told me that I am a contralto when I am a high alto and it only has a couple of the basic vocal ranges. Don’t download this app if you want to have some warmup exercises because it only has one if you don’t want to buy premium. There are pretty limited features and overall I say this app is good only for the tiktok trend. Don’t download if you are expecting a greatly rated song app..Version: 2.3

Pretty goodI like the stuff that is free it’s really useful it’s just annoying that a lot of the more helpful stuff costs money because I can’t afford t pay for it.Version: 2.4

AightWhen you start the app mesures the lowest and highest note you can sing. When your done you see a page that tells you your voice group im a "contralto". But then you can go to a page that says exercises. I do the first warmup that pops up. The notes are way out of my real vocal range. So when I finish I see these little crowns next to all the other exercises. There's a subscription you have to pay at that point I would just get a vocal teacher..Version: 2.3

Very DisappointedYesterday I downloaded this and it was great got an hour or two. Today it’s going bonkers. I tried clearing my history snd retesting, but afterwards it wouldn't even record my voice. Then I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, and it still wouldn’t work. So I deleted it again and cancelled my subscription..Version: 2.3

Not badEverything costs money tho.Version: 3.0

3 starsIt’s a good app in general just some bugs tnag need to be fixed. Like I’ll be singing the same night and it’ll say I’m changing pitches. And they say to wear headphones but the headphones mess up the accuracy.Version: 3.0

💖I feel like more things should be free tbh but I like it.Version: 2.6

I dont like this appIts not accesible without money, so basic and really just boring..Version: 2.9

Don’t bother buying this Sing Whiz if premium is something you not looking for.You guys have a great app. What I don’t understand is why do you have every warm up in your app under premium. They let you take the vocal range test and do one warm up, how ever many times you want, and that’s it. Just in general, taking away every part of your app, and closing it off like how you do only, only serves to decrease the number of users that will want keep your app - not just buy it. For the people like me that can’t afford premium, you might as well not get this all. I’m not even exaggerating when I say but BASICALLY EVERY PART OF THIS APP IS UNUSABLE..Version: 2.3

Great but one problem !!So i saw people using this online and thought id try it cause why not. it said im a contralto (im a mezzo but i just sing low) D3-G5. anyway so i got the premium version n then i can’t do any of the resonance warm ups and like idk why man. overall 👍.Version: 3.0

MehIt’s ok with finding out your vocal range but everything else is premium.Version: 2.4

ReviewKeeps trying to force me to pay for it everytime I slightly move the screen dosent have much purpose without paying for it.Version: 3.0
