✓ Sound not workingThis app works fine on my desktop but the iPhone app has a problem, I cannot get the sound to work. ✓ Sad…I have the same problem as the previous person who had written a review. My IPad and iPhone have the required IOS but I can’t get into my Sussex Home. I press on the blue star it says it’s loading but then takes me back to my Home Screen. I have tried downloading it several times but it’s always the same, back to my phone’s Home Screen. I’ve noticed that the previous review was written a few days ago and there hasn’t been an answer to it as yet. Not what I expect from this company. ✓ Crashed spectacularly and struggling to restart iPadThe app crashed spectacularly after I had signed in and was scrolling around the scenery. The screen went black with purple lines whizzing across it and I have struggled to restart my iPad. I have never experienced a crash like this before. On restarting, many of the icons on the iPad home screen are just black boxes and my bookmarks in Safari are just text, they have lost their logos. I have restarted twice. I have bought two calendars through the Jacquie Lawson website, one as a gift, and I have now advised the recipient not to open it. I cannot find a way to contact Jacquie Lawson, I have gone round in circles on their website looking for an email address. How do I get my money back? ✓ Wants me to purchase it AGAINAfter 3 days, this app only partially works. I keep getting a window that says I must “ purchase the app” to use it, but I already did! Tried to do the help chat- never available. Emailed the help line- just got a response(8 days later!)that “ there’s no record of my purchase”, meanwhile I’m out $7.99 and they don’t care. ✓ Great Advent Calendar When It WorksI have tried multiple times to download the app, but it will not install on my phone. My wife was able to download it, and the advent calendar looks fantastic this year. However, we just tried using it on the first day of December and it wouldn’t open on her computer. It took 4 tries before I was able to access the calendar, which is comprised of glitchy flash animations with no sound despite having settings to control the music and volume (the only thing I’ve ever liked about Jacquie Lawson cards is that they’re calming scenes set to beautiful music). ✓ Less interactive animationsI look forward to this advent each year, but feel this year’s so far is a bit of a disappointment. Usually there are some hidden animations from the start ( pets in the house, Nut cracker, church bells, house lights in distance) but this year there seems to be less. ✓ Beautiful but lackingThese advent adventures are always beautiful and well done. However, I am sad to see that there is no dog or cat in your living room this year. Furthermore, the fact that the elves are not on display once you find them is disappointing. I do like the gifts from the little fairy in your window. There’s not as much to change in your room: You can’t change the style of garland, for example. Outside, you cannot change as many lights and decorations as in previous years, nor can you choose to stop the snow. There are no factoids about the location (like with the London advent). The Nordic advent will always be #1. Nothing can compare to that. It’s incredibly unfortunate that it’s no longer available because I believe it would be a best seller. (Also, I miss mine very much. My laptop broke, and that was the year before the advents could be installed on something other than PC or accessed from multiple devices, so the beauty is all gone.) ✓ Having a problem tooExactly the same as first reviewer. Apparently you need to be running iOS 10 or above but am running 12.5 and still the app closes. Very disappointing. ✓ Nice Artwork, Glitchy App, Lousy “Help” 🙄 LineNice artwork, enjoyable activities, and fun games. This is all great but still the app does not operate properly. Two minutes after launching the app, the villagers you see walking back and forth past the cottages and over the bridge disappear for good (but on computer they don’t). I informed the help line about this early in November and after receiving a number of contradictory responses I was told that the techs were working on a fix for this. Now it is a month later and the problem persists. Very poor responsiveness! This app is more expensive than it once was and is only relevant for a month or so. So it should function properly - or be fixed in a timely manner if it works erratically or a customer reports a bug. Customers pay for it to operate properly. * What ever happened to the cats and dogs that were part of the cozy “home” scene? They were a lovely part of the app in years gone by! * Decorating Christmas trees is fun but there is a glitch. You can click on an ornament to try and put it where you want it but it does not always appear.
