✓ App fine until 4 DecemberThis is very disappointing, for the second year. Like many others, I could use this app fully until 4 December. Now, in spite of advice from J Lawson, deleting and reinstalling this app, I still can’t move on in the advent calendar. The app won’t let me log on and I can only see what was available to me until 3 December. I won’t buy this again and I won’t renew my subscription in the future..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Not able to log on - on iPadI have been told by customer service that Apple introduced a bug on iOS 17.0.1 and this causes the video to freeze. (This is not the error I logged with them)! Don’t they read things properly? They’re instruction is, that I should ensure I download/update app to version 1.1.1 which, according to them fix the error. I’ll give it a go but I am sure that’s what I’ve already got. By the way, same problem on Windows 10 laptop..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Edwardian calender not working as well as the Edwardian’s didI have given up with this app - I spent quite a bit buying for my grandchildren and a couple of friends and all it dies is okay a short video . Activities appear occasionally then disappear like melting snow and you cant find them again -no online help agents all busy -FAWs not relevant to my question . I wont buy again - only a mug once . ✓ Very cute but only a few free daysThis is a very adorable and interactive advent calendar. However, you only get the first few days for free. After that, you have to buy the app for the rest of its content for, if I remember correctly, $7.00. 😔.Version: 1.1.1

✓ Beautiful, British, Wintery, not very advent or engagingNo magic to this one, and very, very little holiday spirit. The scene is artistic but not engaging. The animals you find every day are beautifully drawn but not “holiday.” Hope it’s more Fezziwig and less Scrooge next year. Love it for the graphics but with no shops it’s overall cold and stoic. (Edwardian shops started the holiday store window decorations.) This one (to paraphrase CS Lewis) is winter with very little Christmas..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Waste of moneyThe calendar stopped playing. Already disappointed by its limited scenery and unimaginative parcel opening in the room and so far no worthwhile additions to the outside scene, day 4 suddenly no access. I bought it as a gift for my daughter too, what a mistake. Added to this tried Chat line at 1:45 pm received message that it’s closed and I should phone back during normal office hours. ✓ Not up to standardI’ve bought the JL advent calendar for myself, family and friends for the past few years and they have been brilliant- last years Sussex advent was particular excellent with lots of content, built beautifully and lots of new things to do. In fact I still have it downloaded and play the games. I can’t say the same for this years. Very lacklustre and frankly boring. Friends ones stopped working after a couple of days, stating they needed to purchase to use but we managed to work around it by them logging in via my account- but still annoying and frustrating. The scene was quite boring and didn’t build well other than lights coming on in the house and other buildings really. . Way too many jigsaws - 5 in all and two match games - and nothing new from last year - even the final day was a damp squib! And the price was expensive too especially individually. Next years needs to look to be a vast improvement on this years else I won’t bother! I shan’t be keeping this years that’s for sure. You need to do better JL!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ TerribleThe calendar is beautiful with a lot of fun surprises. There are too many issues. I cannot access many items and have to keep deleting and reinstalling the app. Then I lose everything. ✓ BoringI have all of the Jacquie Lawson Advent calendars and I’m sad to say that I find this one very bland. I also purchased it to send to my youngest grandchildren - I think it will not interest them as much as last years Sussex Advent calendar would have done. Also, the animals are much too easy to find - last years gnomes were tricky little things to search out. ✓ Still frozenUpdate to my previous post. This app worked for a few days but now it’s stuck again. Very frustrating! I have iPhone iOS. What happens is you can’t close the daily reminder pop up box to actually get into the app I touch on the X in the corner and nothing happens. It’s frozen. ✓ Disappointment vs other yearsI have looked forward to this advent calendar for the past 5 years. Honestly, there were many key components I missed this year—the snowman, outside tree lights and other features (store displays, light poles) that changed when you touched them and the interactive nature of the scene in general. I loved the year we found the gnomes, and then they turned up on the game room bookshelf and sing Merry Christmas on the 25th. Perhaps if the animals we find each day had culminated in an outside parade?? Fingers crossed for next year?!?.Version: 1.1.3

✓ Disappointment compared to previous yearsMy mother, sister and I have been enjoying the JL advent calendars for years. This year was a disappointment, I’m very sorry to say. I did love searching for animals each day, that was enjoyable. However, if you look at the main scene - where’s Christmas? Where are the lights, decorations - any signs of the season? It was bare, cold, and actually slightly depressing. In past years there were trees with lights, wreaths, decorations, children sledding, snowmen, fireworks, Santa at Christmas and so much more. This year, nothing. Lonely (although cute) animals out in the snow. Please, less videos, more entertainment and more outdoor holiday decor and excitement next year!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ MehHuge fan of the advent calendars. Absolutely adored Sussex 2022- Just the right blend of quaint village, tons of fun games, and whimsy. This one is a little boring for me. Beautiful music, games etc but just feels stuffy. If it was the first one I ever did I’d probably love it but was spoiled by last year’s. Didn’t love London 2021 either- was a little too modern. . Adored Nordic 2020 and that’s what got me hooked. Hope next year they do another village theme - part of the fun is being immersed and exploring a fantasy world..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Not worth the moneyThe app is working fine a bit expensive for it however was willing to pay as had calendars in the past and they have been lovely and exciting and lots to do . I feel like I am being fobbed off with loads of 30 seconds videos everytime I open a door on the countdown to Xmas . I have done three activities out of 13 so far . Decorate the tree , decorate flower varse and make a wreathe . I am bored of the videos I need more activities and stimulation especially for the amount I paid . This is a disappointing and frankly boring advent calendar. There are clitches. There is really nothing to look at outside. Nothing to explore. Way too many videos that can best be described as “ok” but very juvenile. Everyone I purchased gift copies for have been complaining about this year’s calendar. I told them to go to the App Store & give them an honest review. Unless they go back to something more detailed, creative & fun I won’t be buying them for myself or as gifts in the future. NOTE: Every other time I’ve written a review, which has been rarely, I’ve gotten a developer’s response - not from this company so not holding out a lot of hope that they’re paying attention or care. Original review: The last really fun one was the Nordic one with the gnomes. Each year since they gotten less enjoyable with more videos to watch & less fun things to do. This year’s “main” scene is almost entirely a bunch of trees where you’re to look for a new animal or bird every day. The graphics aren’t as good & already too many videos instead of fun things to do. The flower arrangement thing was just frustrating.
