✓ Fantastic Point & Click!If you are old enough to remember the classic point and click games like Monkey Island, Police Quest, King’s Quest, Space Quest, and you loved them, this game is for you! What a fun game, I literally couldn’t put it down for 2 days until I solved it. The puzzles are challenging on hard mode, I thought they were good. I cannot speak for easy mode. I love that they had a reminder scrapbook to help you remember all the past storylines, the music alone gives you the instant feel good vibes, this game feels like the perfect addition to the monkey island experience, the humour is still really polished and I’ve smiled many times already and I’m not far into the game. Thank you to the team behind this as it must have been a lot of work and I hope many people buy it as we don’t have enough quality point/click adventures in the App Store, the more people support great talent the more adventure games will be made. ✓ An incredible ending to one of the best pc games ever…I had so much fun playing this, I couldn’t put it down. Having played The Secret of Monkey Island back in the early 90’s when I was like nine or ten, this took me on a nostalgia trip down memory lane. I’ll be honest, I shed a few tears when the credits started rolling knowing this will be the last adventure with Guybrush on Monkey Island. Thank you Ron Gilbert for the entire Monkey Island experience. I have so many fond memories playing the series as a kid, and a few more now as an adult..Version: 1.0

✓ Awesome game making me nostalgicWhat can I say? I’m not even done playing the game, and I’m compelled to write this review. I first played The Secret of Monkey Island back in the early 90’s on my PC. I had already played some of the Sierra games, and LucasArts games were soooo much better. With the Sierra games like the King’s Quest series, you could actually come to a dead end and spend hours wandering around and not realize you were doomed. Your character could die. They were horrible that way. The Monkey Island games are wonderful. Intriguing storyline. You can’t die. You can’t do anything that will ruin your chances of figuring things out. I love that about these games. They are full of humor. I laughed out loud a couple times. Speaking of humor, I’m wondering if in this current game they are making fun of the current crop of “adventure games” and “escape games” what with the symbols placed everywhere and LeChuck claiming he hates puzzles while manipulating something I’ve seen in a lot of the games I’ve played. I played them b/c I didn’t realize graphic adventure games were still a thing. I had played the 1st and 2nd Monkey Island, but the third installment was too advanced for my PC at the time. After that, I was dealing with college and graduating and working, and I just didn’t keep up with the technology. So, I know that the games were re-released in the 2000’s, but I don’t have the equipment to run them on. Since, Maniac Mansion Day of the Tentacle was re-released for iPad, I’m hoping they will re-release the former Monkey Island games for ipad. Please, please. Pretty please. I’m begging. I would love to replay those early games. They were so much fun! I just love them! I also love the way the hints are incorporated into the game. Gosh, I remember calling the hint line multiple times and hoping that my folks didn’t freak out when the phone bill came! And I love that the hints are true hints. They don’t just give you the solution; they walk you through the logic. And speaking of logic, that’s the best thing about these types of games versus the weird escape room games. Why would you push a potted plant out of the way to see some numbers written on the floor beneath it? That makes no sense in reality. In the Monkeyverse, you do things that make sense. You need to unlock something? Well, there’s a locksmith. Go talk to her. Makes perfect sense. The only thing I didn’t care for was the graphics. But honestly, they could be stick drawings and I’d still play the game. That’s how loyal I am to the Monkeyverse. TLDR: This game rocks! Please re-release the old Monkey Island games, and please keep making more! These are the best games in the world. I hate being so hyperbolic, but I just really love them!.Version: 1.0

✓ Absolutely fantastic, Guybrush is back!I have been waiting for a mobile release as I don't spend much time on my laptop and I'd rather have the ease of playing on the go or on the sofa on my iPad so now it's finally out on mobile I downloaded it on the first day and it's brilliant! The art style is beautiful and I think it reflects back on the original games and the special editions. It's different but style very much Monkey Island uniqueness and I love it. It real feels alive with the moving art in the background and the interactions other characters have. It's just beautiful to take in the surrounding scenes for a couple of minutes. If you've ever played any of the original Monkey Island games you'll get a lot of nostalgia with returning characters and locations. The voice acting is great and as always Guybrush is brilliant with his comedic deliveries or ridiculous lines, so good! If you've never played a Monkey Island game before, that's okay too as it does a good job of explaining what's happened (loosely) and it's very forgiving for a first time puzzle gamer as so far the puzzles aren't incredibly hard (I chose casual mode to start with then will go with hard mode on my second playthrough) and it does offer a hint book if you need it. I also really like the fact you can collect trivia cards where you can answer some questions on the whole series of games, a nice touch! All in all, a brilliant, cosy and funny addition to the Monkey Island series. I just wish they would update the special editions for Monkey Island 1 & 2 for iOS as I would buy them again! ✓ Paid initially for game, and disappointed to be asked to pay again.. Corrected, updated review.Although I was initially disappointed that the game was updated to a “free to play” mode, with an option to pay extra to get a full update, and there was no provision for former owners, the developer was kind enough to provide an unlock code after writing them and informing them of the situation. I am updating my former one star review to four stars, and happy that the developer took this step. I would have preferred, though, that the full version would be provided automatically to former owners. Possibly this will happen with a future update. The game itself is a true gem, and brings back fond memories of how adventure games should be made..Version: 1.0.1
