✓ Best app to learn sudoku strategies without intrusive adsThere are small banner ads, but they have been very unobtrusive so far. This is a simple setup, not flashy, but with lots of options to set it up the way you want it. I love all of the tutorials that help you learn the different methods and strategies for solving. Our Mac version does not have so many levels or the wild card bonus game and so the next level can sometimes be an uncomfortable jump for those of us that are not natural solvers. This improved version encourages me more. The only criticism is the tutorials seem to only speak to the very people that would not need them. Update: Still doing them first thing to wake my brain up, still doing it and improving my skills without tutorials. ✓ A wonderful app to learn advanced techniques!This app is well worth the small cost. There are many different preferences including penciled in candidates. It lets you play at many different levels and if you get stumped - it offers a hint button to gently get you get back on track (“ponder row 6” or “consider the number 4”, etc). There are also buttons to get incrementally more and more detailed hints). The “penalty” for each hint level is a time deduction. Every once in a while I’ll check something else out but always come back to this one because of the number of daily games, because of the tutorial tips that actual TEACH STRATEGY, and because of the myriad of UI options. Was very disappointed when it stopped working with iOS 14.3, but it’s working now with iOS 14.4!! Yay!! I’m not sure if Apple changed the thing or the developer (Jason Linhart) did, but I highly recommend the developer at least publish a short update to let us know you’re still out there and to let users (and potential users) know that they best sudoku app out there is once again functional. :) Thanks for years of solid puzzle entertainment..Version: 5.2.7

Little by little, rules that used to be so confusing to me, become easier to spot. I like the theory as well as the practical examples to back it up. ✓ Works really wellThe pencil marks are easy and quick to use. The hints and tutorials are very helpful, they make it easy to learn new techniques progressively and gradually. I like the way it explains techniques step by step. The grading of the games by difficulty is good, though occasionally games seem to be a bit harder or easier than the rated grade. It is useful and encouraging to see the % rating of the score compared with other users, it is a good way of measuring your progress in gaining skill. The cell colour coding tool is helpful in tracing chains but it can be tricky to turn it off without inadvertently changing to colouring the pencil marks. The advertisements are unobtrusive and don't spoil the game. Over the past few years I have tried a few other Sudoku apps but I keep coming back to this one, it is the best..Version: 5.2.4
