Map My Ride by Under Armour for Positive User Reviews

Happy camperI love the running commentary whilst I'm riding. The maps are accurate and the times are correct..Version: 22.25.2

Sync with watch not good after updateI’ve used this app for 2 yrs. after it updated this last time it doesn’t sync with my Apple Watch correctly. I used to open the app on my watch, open it on my phone and hit start on the phone and the watch and phone would sync. The app would tell me my heart rate through my headphones. Now it keeps telling me to start the app from the watch. When I do, it doesn’t link up with my phone and I can’t hear my stats through my earbuds. If I start it from the phone now it doesn’t record my heart rate. I loved this app and now it’s just messed up. I’ll keep using it for a while but if it doesn’t work like before I’m going to find a replacement..Version: 20.15.0

Good features but not always accurateGood features but sometimes for the exact same course there are different length (km travelled). So not 100% good on course distance although plots an accurate map..Version: 18.2.5

Wednesday rideEverybody in my bike group enjoys the updates emanating from my back pocket as we ride along. Kilometres time and wind speed etc..Version: 20.4.0

OkayLack of volume controls while app is running.Version: 21.8.0

Very satisfiedApp works well. Use it consistently for walking, snowshoeing and cycling..Version: 23.6.0

Not fixing the problemI have used this app for years and have really appreciated it. However, about two years ago it suddenly stopped working with the Bontrager DuoTrap on my Trek bike. One day it worked, the next day it didn’t. I reach out every few months to see if they’re fixing the problem, but the response continues to be that it’s harder to fix than they thought and they’ll let us know when it’s fixed. This app still works for logging other activities, but not for the reason I got it in the first place. The good news is that Strava and Wahoo have always worked great with the DuoTrap, so I’ll keep using those until this gets fixed..Version: 18.3.0

Map my Ride3 time I have used this app, gives you great info and works well in conjunction with my Polar heart rate monitor..Version: 5.7.3

Great app. I love itEven though I am using the free version, it gives me all what I need and let me keep track of my improvement. Thx for the developing team..Version: 21.12.0

App stops workingFor whatever reason the app stops working during the course of a workout. This is proving annoying particularly when out on a bike ride and I have to stop my ride to get the app to resume.Version: 18.6.5

MapMyRideMoved over from endomondo transferred my workouts great and a great little app, after the update yesterday it no longer allows to play music through it, nice little app otherwise.Version: 20.22.0

Very goodI just use it for tracking my 12 month goal. Very good for this. It froze once on my phone but I just deleted it and reinstalled - which it does really quickly.Version: 4.1.1

Awesome app....Got sick of ALL the adds though so bought the Pro Version.Version: 17.11.0

Best AppSuch a great app, it's easy to use! It's clear and simple and keeps me motivated to get better each ride!.Version: 18.2.0

CORNWALL PARKIt’s a great area to Ride Around Also been able to ride to the top of Mt Hobson !.Version: 23.2.0

Great app!Great app. for keeping a record of dates, distances, time taken and personal notes on the type/difficulty of the ride. All for FREE!.Version: 19.20.0

Map my ride/walkLove this app use it everyday to log my workouts. I can easily share with my friends and family which has been great since Covid 19 has taken over our lives. Brilliant app!.Version: 20.25.0

Love this appBeen using this app since 2017. I love this app the challenges for the year and the ones for the month keeps me motivated and engaged in keeping fit..Version: 23.5.0

A decent app for active peopleIf you cycle or run regularly and want a simple app that works as soon as you’ve downloaded it and it doesn’t cost anything or use up lots of battery or memory then this is good. Gives good stats and mapping..Version: 23.11.0

Great appWorks great. No complaints. Would be even better if turnings that have been mapped into a route were announced during the ride ? Also some cycle routes turn out to be dirt trails ... no good at all for a road bikes. Could these be rated as road or trail ?.Version: 17.9.5

So far so goodGreat app so far, only used for a few days but love the connectivity with my fitness pal . So far 5 stars. Does all I want and more, because this is so good I’m going to go premium on my fitness pal as well. Very very happy punter!.Version: 18.6.5

Unexpected results when starting from Apple WatchI have been a long time user of Map My Ride and have used it to log my road bike rides. However, a recent update urges me to start a ride from my watch, rather than my phone, but when I do, it dramatically reduces the estimated calories burned for a ride. The same ride that it used to calculate used more than 1000 calories, it now calculates at less than 500. I will continue to use the app, but no longer trust the caloric estimates. I do like the idea of being able to start a ride from my watch as well as my phone, but would be happier if they produced the same results. I notice there is a new update. Perhaps that will fix my problem..Version: 20.11.0

Easy to use and functionalLove the map and elevation differential and calorie Burn. Also the historical data is great if you are monitoring comparison info after an injury. Been using the app for several years now. Love it..Version: 21.9.0

Basically fine but startup takes agesStarting the app takes a looooong time. There’s no feedback when you’ve pressed ‘Start’ and it takes 20 seconds for the UI to update. Together it means you better not be ready to go and THEN think about starting the app. Plan ahead to avoid frustration..Version: 17.10.0

Nice with Apple Watch 7No heart rate data and everything works really well on the iPhone and Apple Watch. However it would be really nice if It could totally share data with the iPhone health and workouts apps. There is some strange behaviour there..Version: 22.10.1

Love it. Few features neededLove the app. It is part of Under Armour‘s app ecosystem - which means same profile works with MyFitnessPal for example. Love the convenience. Moreover, it tracks any activity you can think of. Running, kayaking, walking... Etc However there are a couple of things that are needed so I don't have to use another app for those specific activities. (1) swimming: either it needs to integrate well apple watch to automatically recognize laps. Currently I have to keep count and input it. (2) or have a way to import workouts from apple watch/workouts app. (3) integration with music.Version: 23.2.0

Going BackwardsI have been using this App for about 3 years. Since they started making some major changes earlier this year, such as taking away the wheel size the App no longer recorded accurate mileage. Same routes I always take recoded a different distance every ride. Off anywhere from 1 tenth a mile to up to one mile. Also segments measuring speed is all over the place even though doing same speeds. Still use the App, but go by my Bell Speedometer for mileage and average speed. App is usually off at least under 15% on most rides. So disappointed that they have destroyed this awesome app with upgrades depending on satellites. 😞.Version: 20.13.0

Minor tweaks would go a long way!I’ve been using this app for years and I love it but it needs a few minor tweaks that drive me mental. Once your ride is finished you can read the data, such as calories burned, elevation gain and top speed, yet these vital stats cannot be included in the voice feedback. I live in the Idaho Rockies and elevation gain is really important to us. We’d love to know it as we are riding, not just at the end. Same for calorie count and high speed (to better our times on the downhill segments). I’ve been requesting these for years but the developers seem hell bent on other features that no one in my circle would ever use. Also please have the time read out correctly! 2:01 is read as 201, not 2, 1. Whoever coded this in the first place needs to go back to school. It’s an embarrassing feature. Apart from these things the app works great! And I really do love it!.Version: 20.22.0

Excellent free appI am a 72 year old man who hasn’t biked for years and in lock down resurrected my 25 year old bike for excercise. Found this app to record my distance and route which was great. Then found I could get audio messages on how I was doing direct to my hearing aids. Even better I now think I am in the Tour de France..Version: 20.9.0

Great appThe app never seems to fault, and has never let me down.Version: 23.13.0

Fix your account management processThis app is ok, not great, but serviceable. What is really lacking is the account management experience. I’ve had the app for a few years now. Haven’t been riding during the winter but got out today and needed the app. It took me 20 minutes reloading and logging back in because UA lost my account info. Tried to login with FB which failed. Then tried logging in with email and password..fail. Requested a reset, which never came..fail. Finally created a whole new account via FB and was able to use the stupid app and start my ride. I was literally 10 seconds from deleting it. So, poor account management ruins an app experience..Version: 19.3.0

Map my rideThe best app ever I was looking for an app so I could know how far I rode and this did the trick.Version: 18.3.0

Exactly! This is exactly what you want, if you have no other tracking equipment and just want to use your phone. Works perfectly..Version: 19.7.0

Map my ridesssssI’m giving this app five stars because I have had no problems with it. It does what it says on the description. I have only the free edition at this time but as I improve I will be subscribing to the pay version....Version: 20.25.0

ReviewApp is easy to use I like the flexibility of this app and the breakdowns.Version: 22.15.0

Good to link nutrition and exercise statsUnlike other apps, this one allows you to record your food intake as well as exercise easily. The mapping is good, too..Version: 5.6.3

Very clever and useful!I use this in combination with Fitbit and MapMyRide. I don’t always have the discipline to keep up the recording but great when I do!! Keep up the good work!.Version: 18.11.5

Brilliant appGreat app compared to others I have used. I do find it slow when in trying to start or pause a workout but that could just be my iphone4.Version: 5.4.2

LadybuggriderReally enjoy having the voice updates with my stats. I am a 58yr old fat woman just recently taken up cycling in an effort to get fit without putting too much stress on my knees. This app keeps me motivated!.Version: 17.11.0

GreatExactly what everyone needs.Version: 21.18.0

Don’t buy MVP through the App Store!Beyond pitiful customer service. I purchased MVP through the App Store the first year. The second year it auto-renewed the MVP…but the app kept saying I need to upgrade to MVP to see all stats. After a back and forth with Under Armour support, I was told I should not have purchased through the App Store. I asked for a refund and had to send proof where I purchased it. Which I did. It has now been weeks since I’ve heard back from support, even after numerous requests for an update. Needless-to-say, but I will no longer be using this app to track my fitness. I understand Strava app does a much better job and they have good customer service..Version: 22.17.0

My favourite appInitially I downloaded the run version to sync with UA shoes and loved it so o downloaded this for my bike ride and love it. No glitches and I can customise it to suit my riding style. Love looking back at my data, track and compare my different rides. I use it with every ride now. Highly recommended!!!.Version: 20.17.0

Great appReally good app but keep forgetting to pause when having a break! A facility that automatically pauses when you’ve been stationary for a couple of minutes would be a great addition!.Version: 18.6.0

Best for bikes by farI’ve tried various for my road biking and this is easily the best FREE app. When I say free I mean you might be able to get some other cool features by paying a fee but I get all I need without paying a cent. Compared to the app I used to use (Biketastic), Map My Ride uses perhaps an eighth of the battery on my phone. With Biketastic, I was usually at 60ish percent battery after a 12 mile ride. MMR only drops to 90 or at worst 87 percent battery. I also find MMR to be more accurate to distance when comparing to my Garmin vivoactive HR tracking. One suggestion only: when announcing time/distance, pause the music so riders don’t miss anything. Works great with my Panobike cadence counter too! Overall awesome app!!.Version: 19.6.0

Lance come backWe all know if it happens where it happens - still the best Lance..Version: 19.7.0

Useful appIt works well. I like the fact I can change the bike type and set it to walk, especially in the lock down. The mapping feature is excellent too. Now I see my wife can track me in the premium version I think I will get that to save texting my position!.Version: 20.9.0

App works okaySometimes the GPS on the app isn't too accurate. And records more distance than travels. Otherwise a great app..Version: 22.16.0

NZ reviewApp tracks well and sync music start is great. Good connectivity options including social media share. Would be good to have some local challenges as outside of US doesn't seem to qualify you for many of the prizes..Version: 5.13.1

Bowness-downtownFlat with westerly wind.Version: 20.17.0

Enjoying riding againThis app makes it really easy to connect and monitor my kms..Version: 19.25.0

Almost as good as dedicated cycle computerI take my phone with me so I might as well use it as a cycle computer. My iPhone 11 pro max uses around 40-60% battery on a 30 mile trip with the screen on, high brightness and dark mode activated. Would like to see a cycle filtering instead of seeing lots of people running and scrolling past to cycling. I’m sure runners think the same about cycling and walking. Bought this app a few years ago and not sure what you get vs free and vs subscription..Version: 20.14.0

The bestGives one the motivation to keep pushing when you see your trail. Very rewarding and encouraging to see your results in real time.Version: 21.17.0

Awesome!Fantastic app - does everything I need it to. Really great how it records hill climbs along your route, so you can watch your times improve..Version: 5.2.1

PtWorks really well does everything I need but some max speeds are way optimistic.Version: 21.16.0

Suddenly unavailableBeen using this app for several years, very happy with it. Then suddenly today it is ‘no longer shared’ with me, and a link diverts me to the App Store. In App Store the options are open and cancel ... opening takes me back to the ‘no longer shared’ message ... an endless loop.Version: 20.10.0

Love this appI’ve used this for 6 years and love it. I use the auto pause option so when I stop for a break, the time stops running, and starts again when I do. I have it announce my distance and average speed every 5 miles. I’ve found the distances to be very accurate when compared to trail mile markers. The main display and announcements are customizable. I like that I can save all trips and share them on social media if I want to. Only once has the app frozen and failed to save the trip, but I’ve never had any other issues. No need for a dedicated bike computer anymore..Version: 20.10.0

OK . . . but . . .The app is ok but unlike Strava it doesn’t pause when you do, so if you’re on a long ride and stop to get more water - or get rid of it - and you forget to manually pause, the app thinks you’re just being lazy!.Version: 18.11.5

Glitchy [glitch resolved][Update. OK, it turns out that you have to go to the Map My Ride website in order to save this location request. The app does not include a possibility for doing so. I hardly ever log into MMR on my computer, so it did not occur to me initially. Once I went to the website I was able to complete the request, and it has disappeared from my phone app. Thank goodness.] I've used this app satisfactorily for quite awhile, but in the last couple of weeks the app keeps asking me to confirm my location (country). If I select the country and click "next" I get a dialogue saying there was a error and the info was not saved. It at least then provides an option to "skip" and proceed using the app, but since it won't save I have to do this dance every single time I open the app. I tend to make lots of starts and stops each day, so click, click, skip multiple times a day is getting really annoying and makes me think it is time to find a new app for ride mapping..Version: 18.5.0

Love itI really enjoy using Map My Ride, keeping track of my rides 💕.Version: 20.2.0

ReviewVery good helpful and use it every day.Version: 23.6.0

Can’t hook up my cadence and speed sensors anymore.I used to but not anymore. Why is that???.Version: 20.20.0

Map My Ride UnreliableI’ve used the free version of this app well over a year now. If you are going to use for shorter rides where there is good coverage, it’s fine. But hit the wrong button by accident and it aborts the whole exercise segment. It’s recent upgrade adding new buttons hasn’t helped but added confusion. I lost both of my last 23 mile rides, because the first time I didn’t like the picture it took and the language deleting didn’t say it would delete the ride. Today I had the app closed but operating and when I hit a button to continue, or so I thought, it started a whole new route without asking if I wanted to save the old one. I ride on rail-to-trails and have also had occasional times the app would not sync. I am glad of the manual option, speed function, and gps catch-up that figures out if you rode a bit but forgot to unpause and figures in the mileage in when you do. But I think also more than one pic should be allowed and the major flaw is no BACK UPS!!!!! If you don’t make it to the end and sync, your ride is lost-you can add a ride manually but without the cool maps. Remember GPS also uses lots of phone battery power..Version: 17.9.5

Good All-Purpose AppI use MapMyRide (MMR) on every outdoor cycling and Chi Walking effort for it’s adjustable intervals and it’s audio updates on both average pace/speed, segment pace/speed, and progress towards goal in 1/4 segments (25%, 50%,75%, 100%). I suspect the distances rely on cell tower rather than Garmin’s sophisticated Satellite tracking, but do not know that as fact. I rely on my Garmin Edge device (Edge 1000) to record a host of performance data and am confident that the Edge devices are the most accurate. MMR seems to declare a 30 mile ride complete about 0.4 miles sooner than my Garmin Edge does. In actuality, that’s only about 1.3% off, but I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 for that reason. To avoid duplication, I delete the MapMyRide data after stopping it after each ride, but MapMyRide accepts the Garmin Edge data, too and I like their analysis of the data it uses from my Garmin Connect App. All and all I really like this App. I use an ear bud connected to my phone with Bluetooth to get clear updates during my rides or speed walks..Version: 18.6.5

FabulousI’m in love with this gadget. I think I’ll upgrade to pro..Version: 17.12.2

Works really well, butWorks really well, but far too many ads which can interrupt the use ability. Would not want to pay for premium to get rid of ads..Version: 5.11.1

224 workouts 2,970 total miles!I can't tell you about other apps, but I can tell you, I use this app almost every day. It works. It would has glitched but I think it was a server issue. The key is if you're riding, ride consistently and use the app. Explore it's options to see if they serve you. I don’t use all of them. I use to weigh 330, I'm at 250 now. My goal is 200. I use this app with Fitbit and UA's MyFitnessPal. I’d like to add this is part of my life, I try to get the most of it I can and this app and sore muscles let me know I’m heading somewhere. Don’t know where that will be or when this ride called life will end but I’m enjoying it as much as I can. Get out there, ride!.Version: 17.9.5

Fantastic AppI have been using MapMyRide for three years, I have been able to track my cycling activities, I lost 10stone when I first started cycling using this app, these I cycle 90 miles a week just for maintenance of my exercise regime, I love it. Thumbs up the developer Jackson.Version: 18.2.0

Great AppJust starting training again and was recommended map my ride and it is a corker does everything I want of it, now even better with the updates..Version: 20.6.0

Great for trackingThis app is great for tracking cycling rides and runs. Use it all the time. I have paired my heart rate monitor to get more accurate results..Version: 21.11.0

ReviewThis app is so easy to use and makes tracking your rides a lot more fun!.Version: 23.13.0

Been using it for years .Love it for keeping track of my ride and runs ..Version: 18.3.0

WoodyGreat app for cycling walking and almost anything!.Version: 20.6.0

Faulty connection to gpsSince I upgraded my iPhone 5 (3 weeks ago) I’ve had problems with connection & tracking, I connect & have the app but it doesn’t work I have no control can’t find friends can’t start session, can look at previous rides etc. System has improved dramatically now it works 95% of the time..Version: 21.1.0

Solid app, but could use some improvementsThe functionality of this app is good overall, but there are a few things that could certainly be improved. #1: When I initially end and save my rides, it displays my average pace over the course of the ride. For some reason, I cannot find that data anywhere after the ride is saved. #2: While displaying the “full analysis” of each workout, the data is cropped in a strange manner, which cuts off some information in the bottom of the display. #3: The overall user interface looks a little outdated and could certainly use a refresh. The user interface of Strava and Apple’s fitness application are much more visually appealing, and more user friendly in some aspects. I’m kind of torn about switching to the Apple fitness application for the superior user interface, but I’ve been using MapMyRide for years and enjoy having all of my data in one place. With some subtle updates it could certainly be a 5 star app..Version: 22.5.0

Calorie Calculation InaccurateLove the app and use it in conjunction with MyFitnessPal. Very disappointed that the calorie calculation is far off and a well known fact that Under Armour needs to fix. According to other users, comparing it to other apps, it is more than double what the accurate burned calories in reality would be!.Version: 18.8.0

Easy to useFound it easy to use and the voice update plays well over the music.Version: 5.7.2

A Frosty Morning RideUnder a perfectly clear blue sky and cycling around the seafront of Motueka near the Abel Tasman Park "Mapmyride" also performed perfectly too. A few months after the "frosty ride" it is now spring with lots of new flora and fauna appearing all over the place AND my "MapMyRide" seems to have had a new burst of energy too. Very good..Version: 16.9.0

Great app most of the timeI've been using this app for a few years and it does a great job of keeping track of most workouts. GPS a little inaccurate sometimes but just by small distances. Syncing between iWatch and phone has been an issue but not sure if that is the app's fault or my phone's. I called customer service to get some help with syncing issues and was basically advised that I needed to buy an upgraded package if I wanted it to work better. Wasn't a great sales pitch to ask me to pay money for a plan when they couldn't fix the free one I've been using..Version: 20.4.0

Simple and effective is awesomeGreat app. Works well with no issues. Accurate tracking..Version: 16.10.1

Excellent appI tried quite a few apps before finding this one. Simple to use and very accurate. Only issue it can take a while to sync photos but very pleased overall.Version: 18.7.0

Review of map my rideA fantastic app. Easy to use, excellent way of keeping a diary of your progress with the ability to add personal goals and hurdles. A huge motivator which has helped me regain my fitness- thanks MAP MY RIDE.Version: 16.7.3

Map My ride issuesMap my ride app has been great for me the last few years. This year it is hanging up and not tracking my rides. Anyone else having that issue?.Version: 23.13.0

Great appLove this app.Version: 22.10.1

Fab appJust started cycling with the virus lock down and good to see the results of the hard work for an 55 year old Doris!! Recommend it for those who want to see how your getting on with out getting too serious.Version: 21.20.0

The standard in exercise tracking appsHaving tried several apps, the MapMyRun/Walk/Ride apps are the best by far. Also the automatic exercise sync with MyFitnessPal is really useful..Version: 16.11.1

Very goodI mostly use it for running and cycling and it does the job quite well. Does everything you would like it to..Version: 20.17.0

Use with MyFitnessPalFor a free app working very well 98% of the time, informing me of distance av speed calories burned altitude climbed et cetera Didn't quit out during a 5 1/2 hour ride in the Peak District this summer whereas friends' garments had allsorts of issues. With the voice feedback switched on very useful if cycling solo to give you a heads up on your progress over sections without risking looking down & taking your eyes off the road ahead..Version: 17.9.5

Love this appGreat app does everything I need it to. Have it synced to my fitness pal and it automatically logs my ride on that app with calories burned. Only thing I would like to see Is a Lock Screen widget so I don’t have to unlock my phone to see how I’m doing..Version: 23.13.0

Great AppThis is a great app, keeps track of all the data that I require. The only enhancement I would like to see is for the time to stop running when I am stationary I.e. when waiting for traffic to pass when crossing a road.Everything else, maps, elevation, distance etc all good..Version: 21.18.0

IMapMyRide best app everThis app vastly exceeded my expectation The only down side I found with this app is when you try and scroll up and down when choosing the food that you have eaten. Could be fixed.Version: 4.1.1

What if...Update after some recent update (Summer 2020?) A recent update added a character limit when entering the title of a workout (I only use road biking, but I presume this problem extends to all types). Previously, there was no limit, or if there was, it was long enough that I never reached it. Now, you can be typing away, and then notice that the app has stopped accepting new characters. This is after some embarrassingly small number, about 30. However, when editing a workout, there is no (practical) limit. Thus, I always edit. In addition, there are occasional times (maybe 1 in 20) when I get the worrying message, "This content is no longer available." This might happen while I am editing the content, in which case the changes are lost. Happily, the content is not actually lost. It is on the list of workouts. So I have reduced my rating from 5 to 3 stars. -------------------- Original review I understood and used all of the functions the free version of this app already offers? Then I might be able to offer a useful suggestion. As it is, I'm extremely happy with the ease and power of the Map My Ride app and website, and cannot think of any way they need improvement. I've been using it for years, and don't even consider looking for an alternative. --------------------.Version: 20.22.0

John MurphyWorks very well. I have been using this app for years some 11,000 miles recorded. If I had one criticism the app has stopped writing to Apple Health. This has been reported to the tech team and initially they were very responsive but so far unsuccessful. The Strava app appears to write to A H without any problems. So come on guys let’s get it sorted..Version: 18.4.6

Good appThe app is good in general, I use it for inline skating.. only thing is I can start an inline skating workout from the app on my phone but not on my apple watch....Version: 21.12.0

Regular BikerI love this app! It tells me the time and distance while I'm biking and it keeps track of my workouts. I definitely recommend it if you bike often!.Version: 16.12.1

ExcellentA fantastic app. Brilliant for mapping rides and times. Loses a star for being slow at times and not being much good for rides longer than 100km (On an 4s anyway).Version: 5.4.4

Mr Henry BI have the free version and it does all I need it to, the coaching is quite useful and I enjoy having my music linked in and have a folder just for my biking, GREAT WHEN YOUR RIDING THE TRAILS! It doesn't have good OS type terrain & mapping facility so I simply use another app for that if I'm setting a new course or get a bit off the usual beaten track and am not sure what direction to take. I love it! P.S. No crashes, using iPhone 5..Version: 17.10.0

Awesome ! I recommend it:)I went on a short walk to the river and it tracked the whole thing! Calories- speed - all of it ! Best fitness app I have used:) GET IT!! You wot regret it.Version: 5.3

Not too badI've used this off and on with strava (my preference). Not a bad app. Does everything you could ask for and some. Great If I used it to it full potential.Version: 5.4.1

Pushed Wrong AppI walked pushed wrong button didn’t have my glasses.Version: 20.5.0

Good appI have difficulty rating this app. Under Armour makes it and MapMyFitness and others. I usually use the one that I named. Unless an app stands out for its positives, I rarely give 5 stars. I read other reviews about it. I updated and went for a short walk. Cycling might be different. It worked correctly. I read a review with an iPhone 8 Plus. Mine is a 7 Plus. I know about buttons (screen) being pushed and causing problems. I carry my phone. If your app will not record the workout, I have a suggestion. If you want to know your speed, this does not work. Record the start and end times. Know where you road. When you are done, use a desktop or laptop to create the route you rode. I suggest logging from the phone. It starts you at 12 am otherwise..Version: 18.6.5

My adventures in the highlands of Scotland.I think MapMyRide is so brilliant, you always know where you are and it it helps a lot with long rides, as for me it makes me push on with the challenge..Version: 21.8.0

Increased motivation!Love this app & how it combines so many features that motivate me and help me enjoy my ride! It makes me want to go for more bike rides!.Version: 18.4.0

Not letting me sign inThis app will not let me sign in saying you do not meet the terms and even though I am over 13 years.Version: 22.1.0

Great appJust does what it says it should. I use it on a daily basis to get a record of my km and route times. Latest version is pretty good.Version: 17.2.1

Just a ride to the storeBeautiful ride this morning while wishing walkers a Merry Christmas..Version: 21.25.0

Under 13sWhy is the App rated for age 4+ but someone under 13 cannot use it. My son does a lot of riding is almost 13 and it’d be good for him to be able to use the app to keep track of his bike ride kms..Version: 20.10.0

Excellent appI continue to use this in preference to Strava, Although I must admit some of the advertising is a little tedious! Prefer this to Strava, which I've tried several times. MapMyRide is so much more flexible, and maintains the route data better, at least where I live. And you can correct the map after if it does lose the satellite. To keep up with some of my die hard Strava friends I convert the output and upload - TCX export now makes that even easier..Version: 17.11.0

Brilliant !!This is by far the best App for tracking your ride, having tried Strava and found it unreliable to sync with Apple Watch. Don’t bother with any other tracking app this one is awesome..Version: 20.9.0

(Formerly) Good app that could be even betterUnfortunately, this app is marred by its unfortunate tendency to go to sleep a minute or two into a workout, thus losing the data. Good when it works, but it often doesn’t. Update: the going to sleep happens nearly every time and s a fatal flaw. MMR has also gotten very, very slow on saving. Too bad, this used to be an excellent app. Update 2: the going to sleep is now fixed and the app reliably records workouts. Still slow on saving, but just give it time, you can even let it happen in the background..Version: 21.19.0

Great appApp is easy to use and syncs with my watch. Nice to have workouts tracked..Version: 23.13.0

MapmyrideGreat app. Love the music function and the ability to compare yourself to other people!.Version: 5.4.3

Great app!I love this app! I use it every time I go on a bike ride, and it tells me how far I went and how many calories I burned, among other things. You can even post your data for others to see, and you can become ‘friends’ with people! Also you can link it up to the music on your phone and you can listen to music while you’re exercising! This is an essential app if you want to monitor your fitness!.Version: 18.6.0

Seems like my estimate was wrongNow I’m going the distance!.Version: 21.6.0

Awesome AppUsed others from the same series. A voice checkpoint of your performance during workout helped boost performance when some laziness was kicking in..Version: 16.2.3

Great app!I love the simplicity of this app that tracks and accurately measures the distance of my cycling activity, including off-road ventures. Greatly admired and appreciated..Version: 23.8.2

Solid AppWorks every time. Good graphing of speed and elevation. Good map breadcrumb. Does what you need..Version: 21.6.0

EasygoingExcellent easy to use app that doesn’t let you down but does tell you everything you need to know to improve.Version: 21.21.1

I’ve tried other apps...I’ve recently switched back to map my run (from Strava) as I was finding that I couldn’t add a workout with the other app. With map my run it’s easy to add other workouts such as gym/treadmill/boot camp. I’ve also tried a Nike app, but prefer Map my run.Version: 17.9.5

Decent but…This app is nice to keep track of your route and all the statistics in it. As in average speed, distance, the area you’ve covered, etc… one thing I don’t really like it the info… I chooses to identify as non-binary, in the info tab, you can only choose to be male or female… sex and gender are two different things. Sex is and person reproductive organ in their body. And gender is what you choose to identify as. I know there’s a lot of mixed opinions on this topic everywhere, but this app should be a place for everyone. If I were to change it, I’d ether put a ‘choose not to say’ option under the gender info tab, or have non-binary and or a blank option there..Version: 22.12.0

Best by FarrI use it to track my sailing. Really good for studying times, course and splits. I also use it to track outboard motor fuel usage! Great app..Version: 17.9.5

Brilliant tracking systemTracking is very accurate, the voice is encouraging to hear how far I've made it and a great reminder how far I will have to go to get back home!.Version: 17.2.0

I Love This App!I love this app. I've been using it for over a year and it hasn't failed me yet. It's really easy to navigate, I love the real time map display, and it's pretty intuitive overall. I downloaded Strava a few moths ago because it's so popular but it hasn't won me over yet. I find this app to be way easier to use and it displays what I want to see without my having to make any selections. I'm sticking with it! I do find I prefer to listen to my music separately from the app. I think it uses less battery that way and it's easier to navigate through my playlists. The only issue I’ve had with it is that it will occasionally shut off and stop tracking so when I open it up again it makes a straight line between where it shut down and reopened. This doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s frustrating. I still prefer it over Strava any day..Version: 23.13.0

HoangIt’s does the job nicely..Version: 21.18.0

Good but can't use itI really like this app and I want to use it. All it needs is a lock option and an unlock slider. This means the stop button would not be accidentally clicked in my back pocket!.Version: 0

The free version does everything I needIt maps your ride, gives you speed breakdowns all the the cost of advertising! On the Apple phone I have absolutely no issues with the app!.Version: 20.21.0

Great appIt does everything I want it to do. But now and again if I pause the ride. It doesn't calculate or show my speed as I'm riding after I restart. But hopefully that's gonna get fixed.Version: 16.2.0

Awesome appCan see all the stats.Version: 21.15.1

Kayaking?I have been using this app for about 10 years now and there was always an option for kayaking. I went to use it today and could not find kayaking anywhere and I had just used it a few days ago. Where did it go? I love the app but that’s the sport I use it for so it’s not gonna do me much good anymore. Also the last time I used it for a dog walk the music kept coming on and I kept turning it off but that was a waste of time as it seems to have a mind of its own. I did restart my phone hoping kayaking would resurface but it did not..Version: 20.11.0

InformativePretty informative.. I will be getting a subscription soon.Version: 21.9.0

Map my rideReally enjoy the feedback this gives. Sometimes I'm out there thinking I'm having a bad ride, head wind etc and will be a slow run, but forget you get the tail wind coming home and find it was your best ride ever. Real moral boost when you see the daily speeds lifting because without app you have no idea. Love it! Really good program, but have noticed it is very hard to start a new workout since last update only yet pause and finish buttons work fine.Version: 5.4.1

Works perfectUsing this app since a few months. Works perfect along multiple cycling tracks..Version: 18.8.0

Working WellLatest 2019: I’ve been using this app for 3 or 4 years. I’ve logged hundreds of workouts (500 ish). The current app works well and syncs without issue. It’s been my workout companion while I lost over 28kgs of fat and gained lean body mass at the age of 51. I’d be grateful if UA didn’t try and fix what ain’t broke! Update: The app has stopped syncing my workouts. I paid for this so I’m not happy. The app seems to have forgotten my last workouts and for the last few days the message ‘Work out will sync soon’ has appeared under my latest workouts Please fix. ************** I’ve had to install various versions of this app according to whether I paid for it etc. I was prompted to install this version and informed my version was not being supported. Bit of a nuisance... Hopefully there will be no more re-versions etc and this is the one that will work and be updated. No complaints apart from that. App works with my el-cheapo cadence monitor and my Polar heart rate monitor without issue..Version: 19.23.0

LOVE this app :-)Thank-you for providing a FREE version, which is so wonderful!! Giving me the option to upgrade. That I probably will because it’s prefect for when I go riding and will probably use it with other sports :-).Version: 23.13.0

Works for me 😀Map my ride is an excellent app. Seems accurate and what I like is the fact it shows you other routes people using the app have done in the area you are in..Version: 17.3.1

Don’t subscribe!I’ve used the free version for 3 years and it’s worked flawlessly. I tried the paid version a week ago(2 week trial) and in the first 10 days, for no reason, it stopped right in the middle of my workout 3 times. Twice it paused 10-12 miles into a 25 mile ride and once it ended the workout early. I haven’t used it any different. Start the workout, put it in my pocket, ride my bike and stop it at the end. Never did this once in 3 years with the free version. I concealed the paid and thankfully was still in the trial period..Version: 20.8.0

Great for us fattiesKeeping track of my workouts is great for my motivation and lack of it too! I always wondered why I got sooo tired after mowing my lawn, now I know it's over 7kms worth. I love mapmyride!.Version: 5.5.1

Fat burnerThis app has helped me to do better and more miles each time I go out for a ride from doing 10 mile now up to 80/90 mile on big runs and it's free I’ve had this app for at least 6 years now also use Strava but find map my ride gives me more info and also links to my underarmer shoes.Version: 21.9.0

A very good APPBeen using the app for a year now! I find it very easy to use. Records what I want to record. Nothing complicated about it. The only slight issue I have is that occasionally it will freeze during a rude and it will automatically reset it ‘s self which is very annoying. But I am not letting that stopping me giving it 5 stars! Beats it’s rivals by miles - literally!.Version: 21.9.0

Email problemsAsked me to validate email address which was wrong. When I tried to update it I couldn’t because I already had an account with the correct email address for map my walk. Support suggested that I delete the app that I used least. I thought of a better idea - to use my email alias instead. I still think one should be able to use the same email address for both apps. I have given the app only four stars because of this niggling problem. Otherwise it does what I want. I’ve just discovered from another review that one can use map my ride to map walks as an option so perhaps I should do that. However it would have been helpful for Support to mention that..Version: 22.11.0

Great AppIt keeps track of my workouts without too many complicated bells and whistles.Version: 22.15.0

Great appReally impressed with MapMyRide. Only thing missing is the ability to enter a destination and be provided with directions while cycling..Version: 18.3.0

Good Endomondo replacementThis is by the same company that used to run Endomondo. I have used Endo for over 6 years and it was great. MapMyRide is a good alternative now that UnderArmour is no longer supporting Endo. MapMyRide has all the features one needs for a variety of activities, from biking, running, to various other body and cardio workouts. The only bug/flaw I have been reporting to MapMyRide support is that once you enter a “note” you can’t go back and edit it. This is a feature that worked in Endomondo and should work with this app. It’s not difficult to make it so a user can edit their exercise notes. This is an important feature to keep track of user input information regarding content that a user may use to track variables in their workout routine that is not a default choice in the MapMyRide options..Version: 20.24.0

Rider’s AppThis app is very APPropriate for bike riders. It tracks your route with time and speed indicators. Very useful for the novice to experienced rider..Version: 21.6.0

Good appGood app - great tracking and stats. Would be great to have street names on the map..Version: 20.14.0

Très bonne applicationTrès bonne application, fidèle, stable dont le système GPS est très exact et efficace. Je recommande..Version: 23.12.0

Most convenient app out there for meThis is by far the best bicycle app I’ve seen, had a browse through the other apps but this one caught my eye. Reliable and maps out the route accurately. Cool little feature enables you to map a route then save them which is good to always go back to and re-attempt personal best times for your own routes. Won’t be looking elsewhere anytime soon, good work UNDER ARMOUR !.Version: 18.6.0

Long time user first time raterI like the app and use it frequently for tracking bike rides. I have used it for years starting when it was just Map My Ride. The breakdowns / stats are cool and I almost always add a photo or two so it makes a workout diary. I totally recommend this app. Really like the auto stop / start feature A weird thing happened in the last year: there is clearly a major difference in the map function which smooths out the route as you ride. It is really noticeable as the same trails I have ridden in the past now show fewer twists and turns on the map view to the extent that they are now recorded substantially shorter than they were previously. I doubt this would affect and is probably a good thing for riding on a road. All the best UnderArmour. Thanks for a great app!.Version: 21.20.0

Restart timer issueGreat except sometimes doesn’t auto restart after stopping for exercise circuit..Version: 20.7.0

First day and I am smilingTook the app for a ride and compared to other apps it is far superior the updates as you are riding is just awesome 😎.Version: 20.6.0

ScooterI’m in my 60s scared of bikes so I use this app with my scooter( like the kids only for big people) this is great it naps out my route, counts my calories and syncs with myfitnesspal app..Version: 17.11.0

Brilliant intuitive appLove this app and I’m only using the very basics so far. Just have to remember to “end” after the ride or walk if I don’t want my stats to look quite so bad when I remember 20 minutes later!.Version: 18.1.0

New App Rate my RideI was recommended this App by a cycling friend. So far I have been amazed at the amount of information it generates and it seems very user friendly.Version: 21.22.0

Map my RideGreat App! Easy to use and easy for user to see self improvement over time..Version: 4.6.7

DistancesMapMyRide is a good app because I can record really far distances on one go..Version: 21.20.0

Good but wish it would pick up I’m from AustraliaLove the app but the only thing I don’t like is it shows other people all around the world but not people from where I live. It’s nothing major but it would be nice to see others around my area etc. I’ve set all my locations to my area but that’s the only fault I have with this. Everything else is perfect..Version: 23.1.0

First use of map my rideHaven't used it before but it did a good job of recording it all. Quite a lot of stuff on the screen all at once so easy to get lost.Version: 5.7.3

BrilliantUsed this app for years. Great. Works for me every time!! Love how you can change your activity to what sport your doing. Didn't realise this until recently as I had all the ' map my' apps now I just have the one and adjust my activity to suit!.Version: 17.9.1

HelpfulApp works really good. Just if you active to tell you the actual time, just gonna say the minutes.Version: 21.10.0

Athletes best training companionThe app is great for any multi- sport or outdoor enthusiast. Track your activity and route for multiple activities. Load pictures and comments for future reference. As a traveller who lived hiking and running in other countries it is always fun to look back at the routes you have travelled..Version: 23.3.0

Données fournies très pratiques et précises.Merci pour ce bon logiciel très utile..Version: 23.12.0

Problems90% of the time it doesn’t start the ride I have to keep restarting it When I write in notes afterwards it continually crashes It sometimes takes 15 minutes or more to write a few lines.Version: 21.17.0

Superb free appI can’t believe this app is free. There is a chargeable upgrade but personally I have not needed it. The app does not hound you to upgrade nor do you feel like you’re missing out only having the free version. It works great every time. Really useful data helps keep me motivated. I think it’s great..Version: 23.7.0

Use it every day.I use this to track my bike rides and use it as a sort of odometer and also to track routes etc. Originally used Strava but was becoming very frustrated with it. This is much more intuitive for me..Version: 21.8.0

App is unstable with bugsUnfortunately had to downgrade the rating from 5 stars to 1. After reaching support te issues are not being resolved and Support doesn’t follow up on my emails. Here are the issues after some of the recent updates: 1: red trail sometimes disappears mid-workout and doesn’t show your route during the workout. The workout still gets stored. 2. Sometimes, when you load a pre-existing route, the summary of the Workout and the workout summary shared on Facebook shows the route of the previous workout even though when you view the details of the route it correctly showed the right route map. 2a. When this happens, the route does not get recorded on My Routes list. 3. The new companion Apple Watch app sometimes does not show the current workout in progress and instead shows the start button to start new workouts but it doesn’t sync up to the current workout. Usually it happens while the current workout auto-pauses. 4. New companion Apple Watch app sometimes doesn’t track heart rate. As a result the calories tracked are all estimated and quite different than those tracked by Apple Cycling workout app. When it happens, I checked and the Heart Rate tracks Fine in Apple apps. When Under Armour fixes these issues I’ll change the rating. I’ve been a loyal Map My Ride customer for many years and are an MVP member. However lack of resolution to these issues will force me to re-think my relationship with this vendor..Version: 18.7.0

This has helped! This app has helped my partner and I a lot with our fitness and being able to track it .would definitely recommend to give it a go.Version: 21.3.0

Map my rideGreat app! Can do everything on my phone which makes my life easier! Thank you!!.Version: 18.7.0

Badminton not there on Apple WatchWhy is badminton not there as activity on Apple Watch for MapMyRide. I can see that activity on the mobile app but don’t see on Apple Watch. Would love to see that as activity on watch as well. would greatly be appreciated!.Version: 22.4.0

Running greatWith last up-date app no longer crashes on opening. Thank you for the fix..Version: 22.7.0

DevicesConnecting devices hasn’t worked for a few months. Now it works & it’s automatic, but that means it’s connecting the wrong devices & it appears impossible to disconnect a device up the list to get at ones further down. Please fix this soon..Version: 18.6.5

BestI’ve used this app for years, one of the best apps out there and hasn’t missed a beat.Version: 22.20.0

Excellent appEasy to use - great features. Looking forward to using its many different modes.Version: 5.3.1

Overall pretty solidOne thing I wish were possible is to be able to to set different lengths of intervals within the interval coaching program of a single run, whereas right now it’s only possible to set one length for the fast intervals and one for the slow. So I can’t vary the intervals I’m doing in the course of a single workout except by choosing to ignore a cue to start a slow or fast interval. Seems like this shouldn’t be a terribly difficult thing to program? It would make the interval training option a lot more useful..Version: 23.11.0

Great app for different sportsLove this app - great that you can set it up just how you want it re. Type of workout, coaching etc. only improvement would be if it had an auto pause feature..Version: 18.6.5

Map my ride 10 out of 10!Stunning app - great for training - not sure if it stops the timer when you stop for punctures etc... Would be good if gps noted you were stationary and paused timer... Otherwise love it.Version: 3.9.5

Fails to record a MTB ride 50% of the timeUser Interface and features are great. Also like way it integrates with MyFitnessPal app. Big problem is it is inconsistent. If I set it to record on a commute on my road bike it records 90% of the time. On a mtb ride maybe 50%. It’s just unreliable and when you finish a ride to find it has only maybe covered the first mile of an 8 mile ride and stopped it is really frustrating. Happens more with mtb I wonder as getting more rugged pocket movement? I wonder if the software clashes more when you are also listening to the radio ie another app is also running? I often have this. Anyway great potential and hopefully you can improve the reliability and so Reduce my frustration..Version: 18.10.0

Very usefulStudies have shown that the best way to maintain weight loss is to write in a journal your consumption of calories as well as your exercise. For biking I just need to click "start your workout" and my bike ride is recorded; the map with the route I chose, my different rates of speed, the incline of the hills I take, and the calories expended, according to my weight (higher weights consume more calories). This app works in conjunction with the app My Fitness Pal, giving me a total picture of the exercise I'm getting and the food I am consuming. The two work very well together..Version: 22.17.0

Everything I need, so farI returned to biking recently and this app is exactly what I need to track my progress, set goals, challenge my riding friends and such. Honestly, it's everything I need at this point in the game. 2017 update: I still love this app. I don't get the same functionality on my phone as I get on my laptop but it's still a terrific mileage tracker for me! 2020 update: still enjoying the app. Occasional glitches but never enough of a problem to warrant finding a different app. This app does everything I need it to do..Version: 20.1.0

Brilliant cycling appI re started cycling 4 years ago, after a 38 year hiatus and MapMyRide has been with me every step of my 6000 km. It’s great to have an in depth record of every ride I’ve done. To top it off it’s really easy to use 👍😀🚲.Version: 20.6.0

Cool appEasy to use and some really cool stats on your workout. It is intensely hungry on battery life, but I recon it should last around 90 minutes on a ride. Still love it though!.Version: 5.6.2

Easy AppThis one is so nice to use and easy to start/stop. Love the way it shows where I’ve been. I am a new bike rider in my mid-60’s and love this app..Version: 21.7.0

Great app easy to useEasy to use and great information.Version: 17.9.5

Very useful appApp keeps track of workouts - walking, biking and others. Time and distance recorded and displayed with vertical distance travelled on a map. Data is synced to the website. Voice commentary can be customised to suit the user. Easy to use. Good app to have..Version: 16.7.2

NiceI am enjoying the app and it is a nice motivator to exercise with its helpful features..Version: 23.13.0

Best free activity trackerI got this app for cycling and it performed better then I expected. Then I discovered that it has several activities to choose from, including Nordic walking (urban polling) which I do whenever I head out for a walk. Tracking/GPS is very accurate. It’s great that I can turn on voice updates to let me know time, distance, pace etc. I appreciate that I can add photos and notes about each workout..Version: 23.5.0

Great tracking and really helps with trainingGreat tracking and really helps with training.Version: 4.3.2

Good appIt’s a good all round app. Easy to work. Good on battery life. The only problem I can see is that it over estimates your calorie burn when you use the app for walking. It’s not the only app I use and compared with the others it’s about a third higher. Apart from that it’s highly recommended..Version: 18.10.0
